Happy Tuesday night to you. I hope you had an amazing day and if you didn't have an amazing day. I'm not going to try to help you make your day. Amazing, but I'm just gonna be here for the next four hours and I will try my best to keep you company that I can do okay this is what I get started 10 PM Eastern time.

7 PM Pacific. Thank you everybody listening all over North America people listening on our many CBS sports radio affiliates people tuned in on the free Odyssey at you DAC why people on Sirius XM channel 158 and every body like that on a smart speaker. All you have to do is talk to that machine say hey play CBS sports radio. Thank you to super producer and host Dave Sheppard hanging out here with me and you for these next four hours you put the show together. He's making sure that everything also run smooth is a deal. Susie also slouches me run in my damn mouth. This is also you have a conversation with you. You listen to me and I solicit you. You tell me what you think. It's really that simple. If you follow me on social media you already have an idea as to what we will be discussing tonight will gonna run the gamut.

Okay obviously were going to talk and I fell. We have some quarterbacks who are trying to elevate their individual games. We have some quarterbacks who might be at the end of the line and we have some quarterbacks would just trying to shake the criticism will talk about these quarterbacks in who has the most approve this upcoming season.

Speaking of criticism. Typically when it comes to a professional athlete keep the wife and kids and the families out of the criticism, unless your name is Lebron James, unless you have openly shared your family with the world.

Also, unless your kid happens to be someone who was going to get a shot to play in the NBA, maybe two or your kids well because his oldest son is 17. Is it still too young to criticize Lebron's get someone didn't find any issue with taking a little bit of a of a potshot at Lebron through his son will talk about that.

Speaking of father-son duos on the last night we mentioned Fernando Todd Sease and his dad Fernando talk teach junior I mean they just a bunch of excuse makers at this point will touch on them. San Diego Padres had a bobble head night featuring Fernando Todd teach junior and a switch that up is that we are given away to Nazis bobble heads which is going to give away Soto T-shirts probably a good idea. Probably a damn good idea Nick Sabin being called out again that at least privately, this time for some of his interactions with players, mostly not G Harris. He says listen when I was at Mama to get along with Sabin all the time. I don't appreciate how he spoke to me. Is anybody shocked or surprised by the way, Alabama. No shock is pretty much the top of the preseason polls will get into that later on in the show they got mentioned Lamar Jackson try to get all the money in the few minutes I want to tell you about Tiger Woods did hey Shep, welcome back.

By the way thank you sir. Good to have you back to be back you know let's let's talk about this Tiger Woods God. Did you know that Tiger Woods is a superhero Tiger Woods a lot of things I don't know if I've ever heard that before regarding Tiger Woods. What we had with. I don't think this is too much of a personal question – up but like growing up or at any point in life where you a fan of like the superhero films or the movies where you get a bunch of good guys together in a try to do good for the world you will fan what you first of all you like family can ask me anything that's first and foremost.

Second of all when it comes to Tiger Woods. The correlation regarding with no he is not a superhero but insecure personal question about me liking having an affinity towards superheroes. Yeah, I root for the person that wants to take on the world and do good for all souls like the Justice league. No I am not familiar with like I got mama I'm a call from Rhianna Christopher Reeve got through and through like with Marlon Brando and it does movies at the new school and I really couldn't care for you, but I mean that. But my point is, let's put it this way. This is basically the Justice league. It's all the folks in DC at seven Batman and Superman, and I Aqua man and whoever the hell else is in there if they all got together and said let's save the world, that would be that be a superhero convention it it's like to call customer will not with the state going to ask for money here and it for anyone not familiar Times Square don't go. It is a superhero convention but it's a bunch of superheroes in suits begging you for money. Unfortunately, many of them have habits get my drift is similar to Hollywood Boulevard, not those type of superheroes but the heroes that I'm talking about. They convene every now and then they get together and figure out how they can stop the ultimate bad guy. So whether it's the Justice league or the Power Rangers or both Sean and I can go on and the axman the avengers. I can go on.

I guess the ninja turtles would count as well.

The fact is we probably all seen and heard many instances of people banding together to fight the bad guys because if the bad guy or bad guys when then Earth is doomed.

It's not that damn serious when it comes down to golf, but who thought that Tiger Woods would be in the space of potentially being a superhero who would've thought that Tiger Woods would've elevated and went into a space where he wasn't just the the bad guy beaten down, please now elevated to a place of importance. Not just because of what he's done on the golf course, but because of what he can do for the PGA. We all know about the situation with a live golf, Saudi government, the big bad Saudi government comes and says listen, forget tourism. Forget luxury. We need to get involved in sports, we need to throw money to the WWE so we can show everyone how good we are. We need to create a golf tournament all golf tournament live golf and where we go to get our golfers from which is going to take them from the PGA tour to give Phil Mickelson $200 million. Even though he said we are some scary fill in the blanks to throw money at Dustin Johnson Bryson to Shambaugh Brooks Got to give these guys $100-$150 million just so they can show up and play golf and make us look good.

Maybe, maybe we put the PGA out. Maybe we take their best to bad these guys. They wanted tournament here there but they are not at the top of the total pole and sorted the PGA do say all you want to take their money all you want to leave them be gone can play over here anymore and you have a couple of players who wanted to to sue and take him to court so they can participate in both the court said no and Tiger Woods. I guess he's the leader of the super friends because today or matter-of-fact this weekend going down in Delaware is the BMW championship.

All the golfers who are still with the PGA are are in town with Tiger Woods who is not participating in the tournament decided to fly in on his private jet sounds like a Rick Fliss get but it's not Tiger Woods got off the plane he was styling and profiling and he made his way from Philadelphia not too far out to Wilmington and what he do he sent down with the existing and remaining golfers in the Strada rally supporting strong to let these guys know. Hey, don't go over there is value over here on the tour and it was only a few weeks ago that Tiger Woods told every body.

If you left the PGA tour to join live golf you're in the wrong. You have basically been the hand that fed you take a listen to this, as far as the second part of your question about the players who have chosen to go to live in them to play on to play their I disagree with it. I think that what they've done is that there turned her back on what has allowed them to get to this position. Some players have never had a chance even experience it gone right from the amateur ranks right into that organization and never really had a chance to play out here in what, if you like to play tour schedule in order to plan some big events and you know who knows what was going to happen that in the near future with world ranking points criteria for entry major championships in the governing bodies out the figure that out and I some of these players may not ever get a chance to play major championships near well those folks who decided to defect. They not receiving any points with the official world golfing rankings then not live golf is applied, but an application is as good as an application, it doesn't mean anything. You gotta wait and so this is been Tiger Woods. This is been as bread-and-butter. This is pretty much all that's existed and sure like every league in any competition you gotta change with the times. It's like any sport. Gotta keep things interesting, not just for your viewers and the people who love the game and love the sport before the people participating in the competition comes along and they can offer something better than hey, it's probably going to be a faster impetus to change. So here's Tiger Woods for all of his misgivings personally for all of his tabloid headlines for all of his apologies for all of his wrongdoings for all of his accidents is Tiger Woods 46 years old lucky to be alive Tiger Woods. This is leading the way.

He's the ultimate good guy against live. This is this is the man or is he overstepping its bounds. Tiger Woods, by the way, I must tell you if you were not aware. He recently became a billionaire. He said more than $1 billion worth of earnings throughout the course of his career, but now his assets exceed $1 billion. Season the club he can do what he wants. He can go where he wants Tiger Woods spent so much money that Greg Norman of live must I remind you, was having a conversation with Tucker Carlson. You can call it a conversation and I want Fox News and he was asked about how much money did Joe offer Tiger Woods and what it's I could do say no.

Take a listen to this to keep reading that you offer Tiger Woods $700 billion, some unknown number to join live. Is that true that number was out there before I became senior so that numbers be nothing new. Todd is a little bit of a right.

So of course you look at the best of the best in others so well that they had originally approached target before I became senior.

Yes, that number's somewhere in that neighborhood that is only small time, you must be nice to be able to turn down seven to $800 million. Must be nice. Tiger Woods can do it meaner just say no to the money Tiger Woods is basically saying hey you should probably stay with the PGA tour. If your golfer Tiger Woods is this is you can say he's butting into people's business but you gotta think about the most successfully or successful commercial golf forever. The golfer who has had the most global impact on the game.

Why wouldn't people at least listen to Tiger Woods. Why not, you know, last night we shared with you some audio of Alex Rodriguez. A-Rod sat around on his cake cast on ESPN and tried to give advice to players like Fernando Tansey's Junior don't fall for the mistakes that I went for learn from my mistakes and do better than me. Well, I don't think Tiger Woods is talking to golfers about his own personal issues or problems. But I do believe he's trying to influence current golfers in the PGA to stick around into Sean live golf. Is there a bigger picture here for Tiger Woods for him to be a show or an ambassador or does he have that much respect for the tour in its history, or is this something in the Fram should Tiger Woods just shut the hell up and and let these other golfers make their own decisions and choices yeah but I don't think there's anything wrong with talking to was Tiger Woods getting ready to use the bully pulpit is the most influential and powerful golfer in the world is he telling everybody. Hey, if you go over there, then this might not happen for you. I'm Tiger Woods I'll be fine. Is Tiger Woods the right messenger to tell people to stay away from live golf or should he just butt out look, it's a personal decision. Golf is not a team sport and nobody running around, you know, paladin buddy in the sonata 53 man roster you.

You don't necessarily need the camaraderie outside of not being a jerk. Everybody's entitled to their own individual decisions and social Tiger Woods just butt out. I don't think so. He's entitled to do what he wants to do. Just like anybody else. As long as he's not exerting his will or threatening other individuals who might leave for live by all means let Tiger Woods do what he wants to do what else is new people lobby all the time, every corporation, every company individuals lobby all the time. This is nothing different, except for this is Tiger Woods, and as long as Tiger Woods is a running around strong-arming anybody on farm with him telling folks, you should probably stay away from live.

I'm fine with Tiger Woods giving advice to other golfers. I'm fine with Tiger Woods speaking his mind just as he got more money than everybody just because he hasn't had the most sterling reputation doesn't mean that you should exclude him in matters of golf as if anybody seen the ups than downs the highs and the lows it Sam and he should be free to express himself just like everybody else. And if you don't want to take your two cents from Tiger Woods, you're entitled to do that to I got no issue with Tiger Woods speaking up. Not one. I don't care what his past history.

Is this the JR sport. We show your CBSSports radio phone lines are open. That's 855-2124 CBS. That's 855-2124 CBS what are your thoughts on Tiger Woods. I guess being a leader and Shawn the worn people about live golf should be shut up in town of Moniz business. Now that he's made his own choice or should he continue to speak up your phone calls. On the other side is the JR sport ratio CBSSports radio you are listening to the JR sport brief on CBSSports radio.

JR wants to hear from you call him now at 855-2124 CBS.

That's 855-212-4227 and I need to let you know that this portion of the show is brought to you by AutoZone, the free AutoZone fix bond or service can help troubleshoot the likely cause of your pesky check engine light for free and it can get you back on the road. Restrictions apply.

So get in the zone AutoZone when the zone here to start off the JR sport ratio if you're a fan of comic books and superheroes and super friends getting together to combat evil. Have you heard about Tiger Woods. The man got on his private jet.

He flew up north from Florida to Wilmington, Delaware to sit down with the current crop of PGA Tour golfers getting ready to participate at the BMW championship, Tiger Woods is basically letting them know live golf a net sure Dustin Johnson left sure. Phil Mickelson left sure Brooks Got left Shambaugh but it's not a good look. If you gotta think about Tiger Woods and his reputation if you have to think about Tiger Woods and his past his own incidents, injuries just life altering events. Is he the right. Gotta tell other people what to do all by the way, he's the only golfer running around was a billionaire and so are you listening Henry wants on the shut up is he worth listening to. I see no harm in it.

People lobby for things all the time. Everybody has a choice or decision right as long as Tiger Woods is not there strong-arming people because of his influence and power.

And that's a possibility, and I see no harm in it.

I think Tiger Woods is been through enough. The man almost died in that car no harm and just taken a lesson and also let's be clear, he is utilizing his power and his influence sucked everybody else, whether or not they want to take E what you say 855-2124 CBS 855-2124 CBS Anthony is here from Arizona.

You on the JR sport ratio JR sure go ahead. You know this sounds a lot like Brett Favre and and you just talking about that left Eric up. They go and you supported. You know, at least you know had some openness to Brett Favre using his platform to speak out against kids played tackle football under 14.

Same thing at the vet's season accomplished will make some mistakes, for sure, but using this platform. The died the next generation based on what he knows now in his old age.

Okay. Thank you Anthony for call from Arizona. Yeah, I mean that is a that's a wide that's a wide correlation understand the correlation, but that's a wide one. Brett Favre says I've had more than a thousand concussions in my life playing in the NFL and I don't want kids to make the same a same decisions, but those are kids is a grown ass men. These are professionals. Brett Favre astronomy and advocate for people who don't typically have a choice or voice. Tiger Woods is talking to a grown ass man playing golf professionally and you sure this is a anybody could pass on advice. Okay Stephan is whole. If markets are your CBSSports radio hello, I wanted call if you can add to what you're talking about and try to kind of illuminate part of why I think you taken the more the right moral stance against the live tour.

You'll need to talk about on mainstream media enough. I think some of it is because in it can get a little political but basically because our country has a you know were in alliance with Saudi Arabia, but if you really look at our relationship with Saudi Arabia and what that country kind of is, and what they represent. You know they have a genocide that's been actively going on against the country of Yemen that largely gets buried a lot media and they're the ones funding this and are trying to basically body the PGA Tour and make their own greater version of it right so guys like Tiger. I think they see that they know who these people are mean. They murdered Jamaal Khashoggi, a US journalist you know he was part of the Associated Press. He's not a US native but he lived in the United States and what it really hurt the way he lived in the United States to basically get away but it could continue on quickly staff it bothers me that that that I feel like I know what you're saying.

I feel like you're on the right side of this, but I feel like the leaders been buried by a lot of people in your read about you know Tiger and his resistance to have known that what we don't against Saudi Arabia and their legal actions to him is not will stuff on.

Thank you. I don't think there's a matter of burying the lead. The whole point of this being the story is for the reasons that you just said issues quote on quote of sport washing.

I don't think there's a lead very Tiger Woods for all his advocacy and even what we just shared with you if he wanted to come out and say such a thing. I soon he would isolate difficult I think what you well. Slow down right about that slowdown you think it's difficult. Of course it I'll talk against an allied country.

Yeah, I think that that will literally turkey will sense stuff that was stems called sarcasm. I got okay of course you said you think it's difficult. I'm telling you course, it is of course it is. And so, but my only point to you is this, no burying of this will burying the lead. It's very difficult it's more than difficult is for the same damn reasons, one on quote unquote internal issue that Derek Jeter would not necessarily open up his mouth or a common And it wouldn't open up his or anyone wouldn't open up their mouth and select sure, but it's not it's it's it's jumping the gun per se. To say that this is the reason that Tiger Woods is doing it. Can I assume so yeah but L is up. It hit here's here's a is a easy example to thank you stuff call from Arkansas. We have Phil Mickelson on record. He is on a record he thought he was off record. He is on record privately, saying these are some bad people that bad in order. Phil Mickelson to he still took the money, so I'm not gonna make any assumptions as to why Tiger Woods is making this stance outside of what he said because people will say one thing and do another. People say something privately and still do another.

You never ever know, so I'm not going to speculate as to Tiger Woods and his additional reasons I'm only gonna go by what he said. It's really that simple for me Mader's call from North Carolina.

Your CBSSports radio no don't know depends on how long you go, go ahead. Great. You know nothing American guy I wonder one thing. And we sat over there and sing the okay okay thank you Mader for calls North Carolina good for them. They don't have to make that choice.

I do they get to take the money and Michael money they can do what the hell they want with the JR sport refill here with you on CBSSports radio 855-2124 CBS.

That's 855-2124 CBS the phone lines are still open. Speaking of money, on the other side of the break. We do have an American quarterback. Their reports now that he might break the bank in a good way. JR sport refill CBSSports radio you are listening to the JR sport brief on CBSSports radio you are listening to the JR sport brief on CBSSports radio. Your product really do a great job by not distorting what corridors I am calling now with 855-2124 CBS the JR sport refill CBSSports radio we get to the top of the hour or talk about some NFL action to give you some updates as to what's going on just the training camps, especially when it comes down to the quarterbacks. They are the most important folks on the team right. Alan Rogers is talking about some of his younger teammates and not glowingly Travis Kelsey has some positive words for Patrick more homes and that we have a whole bunch of the quarterbacks who have a a few things to prove this upcoming season but I'm in the phone lines because before we went to break. We having this conversation around Tiger Woods and is he the right guy to come through and is pretty much I want to say save the PGA, but to exert his influence on other golfers. He basically showed up in Delaware got a tournament this week. The BMW championship. He's telling these guys. They don't go to live golfers at his place, say not wrong what advice right it's up to you to take it unless the advice comes with a little bit of luck strong-arming and I'm not an advocate for that David is home from Buffalo, your senior sports radio Mike Albright how to go about it very well, thank you yeah want to jump in and talk about this topic you're talking about with Tiger Woods.

I think the biggest thing this comes down to if you like the PGA Tour is going through a big change your world. They're going to record me a lot more and in the coming years as a goal back to more of a calendar year format would not be the wraparound schedule going to be the top of the playoffs and I think Tiger is there to tell the guys hey you want on your plate in history and golf versus just taken the guaranteed money like you guys have from the live tour so I think that's what he tried to sell the guys on J Monahan in the graph of the PGA Tour can talk all they want but Tiger Woods is the biggest name in the history golf outside of Jack Nicholas and he the guy to do it and I think that that's why there are honestly because they be trying to save God for your opportunity. God prove you can really be one of the best players in the world don't take the easy way out by taking the blood money from the Saudi will thank you Davis call from Buffalo. I got it's all you man money look Tiger Woods can talk money talks to and as we've already seen from quite a few golfers you they don't care that 150. That's $200 million. That $100 million to show up that money talks to what Tiger Woods given him some cash in all but little golf my me dammit you got cam Smith right now he just won the British Open is not planned this week. Any is a hip injury, but by the time the PGA Tour is done in about a month's time or less. They say he's going to live.

Why to get that cash that money Zachary Marilyn your CBSSports radio paydown project.

My own you are alive and okay all right all right here probably side started to get mad at China money coming Nike to whatever China and thought they don't get along so no big deal there on time getting paid a salary pretty much together and live so that I may why hate on them but in the guaranteed money.

I'm a young player best golf every day. You know I'm saying my want to look into doing some like that I don't necessarily agree with it but romance probably weren't going to know every other sports organization and gone that way.

That would be I will thank you Zach on not.

I'm not so sure I'm not so sure give you money to sign up on me. What are they going to be. It's not it's not my did not what tennis doesn't do that. We talk about team sports.

Here no salary-cap or nothing.

The PJs going to start paying guys $100 million to show up when they going to do pay expenses that we don't know. I'm sorry. I see that happen to Sam a little surprised that that you're not a little bit impressed by title was position here on so I got no problem with them doing it with muscle.

So, no, no, I understand that but I'm super but you've always been avid about you love what he does as a golfer even right, even as late as 2019 when he won the Masters and there's a talent that you know in of itself is in ways one of one I but you never quite come out and said I really respect what Tiger stands for as a man and what he stands for the on the game of golf. I thought maybe this was the turning point for JR that was my hope anyway. No Model turned on $708-$800 million. Jack will you got a billion you will become a billionaire because you turned down almost $1 billion what you don't, you'll become a billionaire will unless you you're born into the money right, you'll become most billionaires specialize in scale and in his scale that sits golf and that's what he's been able to to move yeah and so I mean I really do believe this appointment time where you can't accept your lot in life and know that you are okay. Regardless of what happens, and I think Tiger Woods is there and I actually do believe that he respects golf and I'm not going to get into what he believes about where the money comes from and see if he feels that way. If you feel so strongly about it than be vocal about it, why not.

I just thought maybe he would he would he would come to be along the lines of of of the bill Russell or or ask Robert and someone that now is transcending the game of golf because of standing no bigger than just money and with lucrative no talk because to me.

Tiger Woods still is just for what I just said it. If he wanted to take that stance and I say okay yeah sure, but is one of the caller said well he's opening himself up to more criticism. Who wants that either he will will yet apparently he doesn't.

He's going to stand up for human rights, which is the biggest cause and justification of ever putting her neck out there for anything. Is that what he said that some of the caller said that that's what I better I proceed Tiger Woods is doing. I thought that's the lineup maybe which way you I don't think there's a perception of it. I think it's very clear cut and dry. If you wanted to say such a thing he would everything that he is set as far as I'm concerned it's been about the PGA Tour.

It's it about points.

It's been about legacy.

It hasn't been a damn thing about hey y'all taken at blood money if he were to come out and say any such thing and put his behind on the line and have more respect for that. Not that there's any less for him doing this, but there I got a waiver about what he thinks politically, not at all nuts for a reason to. You got a mouth to do it just like everybody else Leath and a scholar from North Carolina. Your CBSSports radio call. It's gotta the LPGA roar of Tiger had no problem. I really think big about human right. But all those guys all year. The PDA they went down the national PJ had PDA had no problem with dad taking sponsorships from from Saudi back companies and MKV when Plato anywhere now to have accrued competition and out of not really want to know if you meant by this, and if that baby taken money from company that all kind of backing had no problem with so that's not fair that they go get going to look at one okay make you late that the calls North Carolina. I do think there's a difference with this is a global economy that we live in, regardless of whether we want to accept it or not, whether you're buying shoes or pumping gas.

Everything is tied together from the smallest local level. From what you do down the block away. You get bread and etc. all the way to large levels, not nobody, you know, some like a country is on the five planets away it doesn't work that way. But when you are, like Beta be counseled of business-to-business and you can consider yourself a golfer you are business you are an entity, and you just doing a handshake agreement. I think there is a difference. I really do Robbie's goal for Phoenix your CBSSports radio I. I agree with Tiger certain degree right here you think I was against this from the gecko just to take wide money from the carrots country that that that is not respect, and human rights. Let me give an example.

As an African-American.

That would be rightly taken money from the clan. That's how I look at this.

This is a disgrace.

It should never be in God.

Okay, I hope Tiger really needs it has gotta stop you guided start stepping up for human rights.

Okay thank you Roddy deciding that that that human rights is not worthless about that.

Robbie, thank you for calling from Phoenix this tests us, so when I said to my thunder JR who him or me. Robbie took my thunder.

That's what I said Diddy think you stolen from you. Do let's call him back and call melodic sounds good. It's getting back on the phone. Thank you Robbie for calling from Phoenix to JR sport re-show here with you on CBSSports radio let let's let's talk some domestic money. Let's talk about some NFL money right because that that money is a is cleaner from an upstanding organization with upstanding owners because all the fans of the ones put the cash in fans a great right if course, we come back when look at some quarterbacks in the NFL today make the most money, big money.

One of the quarterbacks is even the is pretty much up for contract is coming off of a busted up ankle there's another quarterback you just got traded is another one making more money than anybody ever has.

At the quarterback position to talk about some of these QB's will be hit the other side who the hell has the most to prove the JR sport re-show all money CBSSports ring
