Once a world champion wrestler, now a champion for Christ once told Martian night now the devil's worst nightmare in your tagteam partner cheetah call. It's time. Welcome back to another episode of its time to man up the cuticle all no longer the Russian name another.

The devil's nightmare and it is a privilege to have this man in the studio with me today. My goodness, we're going to talk about his summa. His life story and what all God is doing in and through this man's life Rick Joyner MorningStar ministries Rick, welcome to you. It's time to man up. Well good to be here with you and let's man up about man stuff. Let's talk about and stop and all you lady listeners out there will appreciate this. I'm sure I try to figure out how many years we've known each other now and I think it about a decade ± would think at least yeah it's been a long but at least a decade, and for me it just been a privilege of getting to know you and an honor for real and I mean that in all sincerity and and I have so much respect for you and in all that you finally have done, but all that you doing when it comes to to build the kingdom. The book before we get to that Richmond Virginia is that we are born and raised right. I was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. Okay Rex Hospital moved to Richmond when I was six years old.

So what my decision, but it wasn't your decision to go ahead but yeah I was raised in Richmond so I was 18 when the Navy course had to go on something back then I got my draft notice of the Navy took me in and a good time. I was in aviation and and learned a lot. After that it was really after I got out of the Navy is only about a year later that met the Lord became a Christian was born again after the military after the military, usually in the military almost for four years. Yeah I got out early because Vietnam started Wanda down. They gave us early else okay, early release yeah I got in on that and some other circumstances made them want to get rid of me going and is known to be study guide is that book as you have shared with me.

Off the record of a few of your military. Shall I call aunt exit without a proper word are well. I think there's gonna be something of beyond anti-but some of the stories likely for real though, I believe you have a laugh and be just because you are applied right you know now I was in aviation house agreement follow. Okay that I didn't get my pallets they offer to send me to flight school to engineering school, engineering degree and then flight school, but in one meter basically make a career out of the Navy. Yeah. To do that and they wouldn't guarantee me when I fly.

They were given to any fighters I would've done that right. But anyway I just got out.

Use the G.I. bill to get all my writings and did become a professional pilot and did that for number of years.

Built in aviation business and use it well and I did pretty well. Some ways maybe real well. We turned a little single pilot me one airplane operation into a one biggest in the country are busy as the FAA said within three years. We had a mild pretty busy operation, mostly flying freight play pastors in the day Friday night delight for General Motors became my best customers right and but we flew for by Corps of Engineers rock 'n' roll bands.

I flew all the presidential candidates in 1981. We flew all kinds of politicians and candidates while course, but you know we were on demand air charter service okay. We also had the busiest airport in the state I was in. If the time we had flight school we had aircraft maintenance. I even sold aircraft insurance while we sold airplanes is anything I can make a dollar on an airplane. I did a you and you involved and where you will eat what was that baster when it was just north of Jackson, Mississippi, Jackson, Mississippi, Madison, Mississippi airport while reading John Grisham books. Most of those are based in Madison okay Mississippi and course I knew all the building, streets, and all he writes about there but it's the right place, right on the big reservoir and their business really took off.

Business is good yeah from from Mississippi then you where with the path take you from from Mississippi Lowe's in 1987 when I received a call to go back into full-time ministry. Okay, I had been in ministry for a few years, but I started to young Heather church asked me to be their pastor and going think I'm on the board for two years but during the two years at accumulate a lot of knowledge that I had read and study 40 hours a week just because I was so hungry and in a like I wouldn't an atheist is never an atheist Buddha. I didn't know about that.

I didn't know anything.

I'm grown up in Sunday school or anything and had just had no clue. I found our God is real.

Jesus is real. He's everything they the Bible says he is not learned our lesson this like the mother load. This is a great thing you could ever learn someone to spend my life learning about him at accumulate a lot of knowledge but not much wisdom there is a difference right there. There's a difference to wisdom and knowledge right and when this church asked me to not enough wisdom or experience at the time when they asked me to be their pastor. They were impressed with my knowledge and I tell people I was the worst pastor of ever heard of people would come to me with for counseling item will get over why are you dumping your problems only.

I got my own problems to play this slightly simple. That was my now that I did need to get it and I realize that I Saddam wrecked these people's lives. If I don't really in yeah I want to take a flying job where yeah corporately or commercially because you do most of the usual fly a few hours a day and then you're sitting in airports or or hotels or whatever. It would give me all this time to study. That was my real passion right well and and I've learned about you that having your I mean, you're one of the greatest historians that I know personally I mean as far as some of our conversations. We had some of the stories you told and just amazed by it. I know you said you said you just love history and you love to study and you all that. Yeah, it's like will have forever to do this right, but it's it's just, you know, to me it's an almost an addiction to knowledge down to truth to new knowledge of the name of this station. The truth that were never yeah yeah and but you know what greater treasure. Could we have than that, and it's available. If we think you will find that at our fingertips is yeah so open up the Bible turn on a podcast you noted it.

Listen to a sermon on YouTube that is. It's available now. It flick of a switch on our phone right self.

But let's back up for moments so you said about a year after your departure from the military. That's, that's when you surrendered your life to the Lord will roughly plus or minus yes surrender would be a good word. I probably chose to get yeah it was now the knee. He's the gang unit and I had a superior supernatural conversion experience and to me, there was zero doubt that this is real. He's real and he's calling me and you know you don't have a choice of what what what what let what was that the pivotal point in that would like. What led you to that was or something dramatic that happened or just something you just happen. Well, I was basically at the time in the counterculture scene at hippies as going around all the rock festivals just living that life. I was invited by some girls to go to a séance which they said they could make demons appear. I just thought they were taken too many drugs but I will good looking girl said that I said when I got there you now just I didn't believe anything the retirement I didn't believe anything supernatural. I didn't disbelieve it, but it to me is just and we know why am I wearing this slow room dark room and stuff happened in these things that appear in our new somehow knew this is really evil things are not good. These girls think they're controlling them, but their control in these bills while it just shocked me. I mean the whole supernatural. All of a sudden it's totally real. There's something beyond what we see field touch, smell someone back in unit told the girl that I was with at the time what it happened in. I did know that she was a backslidden Christian. She got on backslidden real quick and she knew this is real and she started told me about Jesus and I went down and bought a Bible us, to find out everything I can about these is this stuff is evil and everything in its obviously powerful is going to be a counterbalancing good right or this would be taking us over and when she told me about it I just totally believed, I believe, and she told me her story how she had met the Lord only walked with him for about 30 days in college and then she basically said Lord I'm going to come back to you before Obama did mount yeah and she's a little while so mild to live my life right so anyway got a Bible read as much as a good believed it and when you first when you have no knowledge of Christianity or anything. When I read this about whatever you asked believing it will be done for you us to start believing God to make these drug deals work okay because I'd gotten to that part did know that was wrong. I said Lord I really need this at work okay and I mean it was a wild thing.

I had no one to go to with this girl would only known the Lord for 30 days and she didn't know anything and I start finding Christians start going to church is an meeting people and you can always find the ones who were on fire in any church. Whatever you did get up with some real good people help the cycle make up one was the guy from North Carolina retired Air Force Col. any kind discipled me for a while and then of and then move back to Richmond to lead some friends of mine to Lord that I grown up with which text or bless them, and you met one Bart. We grew up in the same block together and I went back and he met the Lord in so I moved back to Richmond to help them get established in the faith, like were growing together and then we got really connected with this group in northern Virginia and everybody all the leaders of the church. It was a home network of house churches, but all of the leaders of it were like deputy secretaries of this or that in my high-level profile. The top level and the CIA in everything and my mentor was the assistant secretary of the Air Force was in charge of all weapons development for the Air Force, all airplanes, bombers, missiles, everything that was developed he was ahead of her, every program developing new weapons, but they had jobs like that really serious jobs but they were so caught up in the Lord. Their main identity was not on the assistant secretary the Air Force what it was. I'm a Christian and this is my ministry right you asked me, made him with a do they're going to name their ministry before their all of them were like that. It was an on fire.

Blazingly hot in a data movement back that, but this is right in.

When the charismatic movement is speaking the Jesus people movement. There was so much happening spiritually at that time that you could go up and have somebody about the weather and they would ask you, how do I get saved I was just people is like the fruit is following right right low hanging fruit ready there for the picking right so I got involved with you and some guys from teen challenge Wilkinson Don Wilkerson and his brother Dave, build that ministry but Nikki Cruz. Some of those guys we work with them. Worked with street people and events went pretty much add come out of after the service, so that was a great great common connection to cool off here if you're needing to buy a car and have marginal credit and considering using buy here pay here that's worse than taking the Russian sickle Winston-Salem motorcars to put you behind the wheel of a car you can rely on while helping rebuild, repair or establish your credit score conveniently located on Silas Creek Pkwy. in Winston-Salem. Be sure to check them out today that W, S, M. C. The number one.com because you are number one we so appreciate our listeners if you will support this program with a financial gift of any amount. I will send you a personalized copy of my latest book Kita tail of the ring and redemption go to call off.that's cool off.and the ET goal of.net and make your contribution so so that's interesting that you know you mentioned the supernatural and in course I travel overseas like yourself and have had a number of different encounters and and not just overseas but even here in America that no real real encounters with with the demonic forces, and in an and the supernatural and understanding it is really all in Ephesians 6, chapter 6, as we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, and in these wicked you forces that it it's real for those who don't realize is that it is really you, you witnessed it firsthand. Yeah, and that that led to real your conversion and self that the timeline here so you is you your aunt your hitting grounded you're getting discipled to getting mentor growing in your faith now and add as you mentioned just shortly ago you jumped really in the ministry about probably due to sealed it because then you transitioned into business but then you came back into ministry so so what was that transition like say you're like okay because you knew there was a call in your life you sent. You knew that right.

You sense that and so when you made that decision to step out of the view of the business world and back into ministry enough about how old were you when when a far long were you in your journey with the Lord at that point, would you say well you know I was pretty young in business that went in your 20s and not in a 20 early 30s and I was getting right around 40 yeah when I had two people come from different parts of the country. One am from Miami and one from Texas that the new had did know each other. They both came to be in the same week with the same word you're called to ministry you got a return to ministry now or the Lord is going to give your man your commission to somebody else pass it on and I didn't know what my commission was, but it sounded bad so I immediately set about to wrap up my business made a deal with Beechcraft to take over and management will business they were made major aircraft manufacturer at the time the president of the company become good friend and anyway I just admit we start wrapping up.

I'm going into ministry at didn't even know what it was but had written my first book. There were two trees in the garden and it exploded. I mean it just took out one thing that made it explode.

Back in James Robison was probably have one the most highly visible ministries at the time that evangelist from rifle work at James@Texas yeah and James and Madden connected in any way. James spent a whole hour long program of his back and just reading from that book may Own it up and then he read nothing and outlined in the next Monday we had 30,000 workers while in one day while in the didn't let up for a long time. Right and is like all of a sudden now my aviation business are growing really fast double triple in a year was usual for us back in and that normally you can't grow that fast without killing only about 30 to 35% growth rate. A year is the drop dead zone right, it's too fast, but we had handled it with done it made it work and then all of a sudden the ministry did the same thing, but I knew that it did the sale and experience I had the experience of having organize and handle this, but we we just had piles of book orders we had more I have more invitations to speak than I can answer while I was given an average of three invitations a day to speak all over the world right and I couldn't even unite fine just turn them all over to somebody to answer were praying and as a witness and we did.

We we say Lord you go showed me where to go. I can get all the spices they only one man. So I yet you can't get duplicate yourself all over the playwright itself and I can relate. Rick, I can relate to.

It's interesting because she has a listening teat to that part of your story how how the business grew so fast when you you were able to keep up and learn how to hit almost like a training ground for because the Lord's knowing minute when he when you step into ministry. It's can exploded. The relatable part for me there is is my wrestling career which you know that wrestling career was this meteor bye-bye many people's accounts and when I look at my wrestling career like what I do, arresting affluent airplanes Rent-A-Car state. Hotels talk to microphones and cameras entertaining crowds. Then I I surrender my life to the Lord, and he opens up all these doors of opportunity for ministry and what am I doing ministry last 20+ years all I know flying in airplanes, Rent-A-Car, state, and how to talk to my proposal for the cameras right not to entertain the crowd but like is like the rest really was just a training ground for me this sounds like your aviation business in a sense was that very same thing was like a training ground God preparing you for the ultimate call in your lives that when when when these that the book sales and invitations to speak explode. I mean, your ear, you're ready to handle it. He knows more than you could could handle your lease attics theory is that how to handle so right yeah in.

I don't think we were surrounded, you know without sin is so you mentioned your first book, but it was funny as up in Moravian fault that your property up there one time a few years ago now and exit. I would ask you how many books you've written, I'd I know you tell me you don't know the answer to that, most likely is I think I heard you say that before but I remember this Rick.

I never beat up in Moravian and in a bunch of books on the bookshelf and and I'm pretty sure pretty certain I counted 45. At that time and it even had to be a new one today we will talk about this on the second show. The second war, so that was one of of many many books that you would go go on to write, but it I read I read that one. By the way, to trees in the garden I have and in yeah how Christians should like hello and any and all Christians should read every book you've written. I agree. I totally believe there's so much here again and out of a wealth of knowledge was so much wisdom that you put into these books is a passion of yours. All right, writing will yeah because I've always been a reader of guy study, read researcher love the written word, and so become a writer. I knew when I was 12 years old and can be a writer. While I did know how or why.

When a Christian, I did know right and that I knew right. This is what I'm going to do and I loved it. He did do G. Would you say you you enjoy writing more than speaking with Mike Whitmore McGinley. I love meeting people being in groups and in all but just speaking to a large crowd. I can do that on television. I can do that. A lot of ways right of spoken by phone to a million people at one time but right and been invited to speak to large groups in Africa and all but that didn't do much for me.

I don't consider myself that great of a speaker written. I think my Contin is good.

Meg gets me by right there. I'm not polished and not you. I should've invested more learning the skills of being a public speaker, but I think my content is got me back but you know and and again I've sat in on on times you whether it's a Sunday service when you've spoke or certainly many the conferences will talk more about this and in the neck show as well. MorningStar ministries and what what all my linkages up a plethora of ministries that you guys an impact. You guys are making for the kingdom around the world through MorningStar ministries and and I've sat in a number of conferences that that you posted where you you've spoken in and I would I would say that as I would say yeah, the content of what of what you share is is is valuable to me, and I'm a notetaker you know I'm like like that like to take copious notes and and have taken the plenty of notes from from when you've been speaking so I would say to that point, but I was just yeah I was curious as to whether or not you know right writing or speaking was more enjoyable for you. Well, I feel more anointed when I'm writing. Okay I feel the Lord's presence. I feel you know Revelation, and while I'm doing that and I do sometimes speak into and I could speak to all the Muslim leaders on the plant window of the top the minds of what I preach the gospel's are the good I thought you killed.

Forget that there but it worked.

Yeah it worked and after that I was at this world public forum on civilizations and religions. I felt a greater anointing in that setting that ever felt in the Lord touch many of them.

After that the next few days we were there.

I couldn't sit down for me with a bunch of them went to sit with me. Talk them all.

The main thing I told was about God loves you in. They didn't have that never book that with this concept. He really loves you once a personal relationship with you and all, and they would just respond alike. You wouldn't like you just touched on something and are in Alaska a couple minutes together here on on this show that we come back and have her talk more about what you say Whitmore about about to MorningStar what all is involved in more about your books and all that but you just I sent something in God loves you and it's about a personal relationship. That's one thing the show is is centered on his. While it is and hopefully in NM already. I've Artie gotten emails and in an messaging on social media and others that is a felicity to the radio show. Listen to the podcast. In fact, the arrestee probably familiar with staying I did a two-part show and and a guy just what we said what he said totally transform the sky's life Rick Joyner.
