My favorite reminder of gratitude is this story of a remarkable woman who learned to thank God in all things ...including FLEAS while in a concentration camp during WW2.

The world is going to continue to throw convenience at the expense of perseverance and caring for people with disabilities, afflictions, and so forth that caregiver gets turned around and all these things. It is hard to know what the to say it to do what does what to safe ground look like that's what were on air here on American family radio and that's what were doing what we do and I want you to be a part of at 888-589-8840 will get to the phonons here just a minute. One of startle for the Scripture that we have a set time of year will think about Thanksgiving.

Would Scripture say about this. You know, Thanksgiving is not new to America. First Thessalonians 518. Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you on a what is this mean for us as caregivers, malicious was cut right to this, what I hear this verse. I'm always reminded of the story of Betsy Tim Boone telling your sister Corrie 10 boom in a concentration camp, to give thanks in all things, and even give thanks for the fleas and then Corey just bristled at that there in a concentration camp there all over 50 recordings 50 years old would check with the was was arrested in you and you must view all will know the story of the hiding place. They were hiding Jews in and in Holland in their home and they were they were arrested and sent to concentration camp in there and there there in their in this hut in the fleas everywhere, and Corey just was struggling with this and her sister Betsy said, you know, and give thanks in all things court couldn't process that and it turned out that the Nazi guards did not particularly want to go close to the hut because of the fleas and the women were able to have ministry and Bible study can be left alone from these guards. Just because the fleas and Corey bit her will and she gave thanks for the fleas at the prompting of her sister. She may have done it grinding her teeth a little bit, but she didn't and it's a it's the extraordinary story of adhering to what Scripture is asking us to do when we don't feel like doing it with everything else screams at us to just say throw her hands up and and just quit. Go back and look at Job's wife.

What you don't. She got a little bit of a bad rap on that because he blessed you will just curse God and die just be done with it, but she also went through all the things to she lost all of her children. She lost the positions she went to these things. She was struggling.

Can you give thanks while you're watching your loved one curse at you while your change in their adult diapers. Can you give thanks while you're watching your kid go through seizure after seizure after seizure. Can you give thanks while you're watching your child with addiction relapse over and over and spiral drain. If you can't don't slap yourself around because it's really not in us to do it.

But if we ask God to like that spark in us that we can obey his command. That's when transformation comes about Corrie 10 boom, gave thanks to concentration camp for fleas. Her sister Betsy died in a concentration camp. Corey was released a week before all the women her age were exterminated and she would honor to have extraordinary ministry and books, movies, everything else written about her years later when Corey was very old. She's 80 years old roughly are getting pretty close to it.

She was vacationing in the town of Northwest Florida and she met a little girl who was having some problems with her eyes little girls bored with our problems that it recorded where patch special glasses you had six surgeries before she got in first grade authorized Corey let that little girl to the Lord. That little girl. Remember that event with this lady with a strange accent just released Jesus, your friend, and she had a hard time instead of those my wife Gracie and Gracie remembered those words spoken from a woman when Gracie was faced with her gray trial. Being in a hospital bed with her body completely broken after the wreck. She had 36 years ago this month. She remembered the words of that woman who thanked God for the fleas in a concentration camp Gracie letter to thank God for her broken body. When she lost her legs. She learned a thing God for the weekend of the summer. Oh, we can do through Christ.

888-589-8848 885-8940 this is right back. Have you ever struggled to trust God when lousy things happen to Gracie Rosenberger in 1983 I experienced a horrific car accident leading 80 surgeries in both legs. They became. I questioned why God allowed something so brutal to happen to me. But over time the questions changed and I discovered courage to trust God that understanding along with an appreciation for quality prosthetic limbs led me to establish standing with help more than a dozen years we been working with the government of Ghana and West Africa, equipping and training local workers to build and maintain quality prosthetic limbs for their own people on a regular basis. We purchased ship equipment and supplies and with the help of inmates in a Tennessee prison. We also recycle parts from donated lambs.

All of this is to point others to Christ. The source of my help and strength, please visit standing with help.com to learn more and participate in lifting others that standing without.com.
