The power of life and death are in the tongue is Proverbs 1821 and this is destined for victory. Always glad to have you with us coming your way next Pastor Paul Sheppard shares his message the power of your words. But first he joins me from a studio in California to talk about something vitally important to our ministry. You know every day here on destined for victory.

We ask people to stand with us financially. That's because were a listener supported ministry. Let me underscore that for a moment.

That means the only way we exist is through the prayers and financial support of people just like you and in 2021.

Our prayers that you might consider if you haven't done so already becoming a destined for victory. Partner partners are a special group of people giving a monthly gift of at least $20 if you can make that commitment. Today we have some special gifts that I'll tell you about in just a moment, but Pastor Paul joins me in pastor take a moment please and tell us why partners are so important to this ministry you I'm glad you brought that up. Wayne partners are really the lifeline of this ministry without those people committed to giving regularly. We literally could not continue doing what were doing.

I guess people hear that a lot, but it is really true without partners. We simply can't get the gospel out to the world.

The gospel is free but the plumbing cost an awful lot of money and we want to continue preaching. As I've said in times past we've got generations to reach that have never heard the gospel and they misunderstand when they hear people talk about things like serving the Lord and we need to make it plain to them.

The only way I can do it is with my partners, helping us reach them through their generous gifts.

I'm so grateful for every single partner and I'm praying in 2021.

That God will give us thousands more.

There are many more outlets and many more opportunities we could take advantage of in our ministry but the only thing that holds us back is lack of income. So I'm praying that God's going to touch the heart of many more people to realize that with just your gift of $20 or more. You can help us remain strong on the stations and outlets were all in and reach many more with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Hi, thanks pastor that's what it's all about reaching more people with the gospel and if you make that commitment by pledging $20 or more per month to help us do that will send you with our thanks a couple great gifts including one of Pastor Paul's most popular CDs. Pastor Paul reminds us just how powerful our words can be with this message, the power of your words is Pastor Paul Sheppard remember that God's grace is sufficient when you're going through dramatic experiences when you have difficult seasons that you gotta get through in your life. Always remember that God's grace is sufficient. He promised you that he will give you grace to get you through what you have to go through we saw in the last message that Paul said in second Corinthians chapter 12 I had a roaring in my she said the messenger of Satan was sent to buffet me because of the abundance of revelation God had given me.

There was the balance of this thorn in the flesh in this messenger of Satan that buffeted me and tormented me anything God three times. Please remove this from my life and God's response to him was, my grace is sufficient.

And as is the case with Paul so is the case with you that we will find God's grace is sufficient for all that we have to go through and we will tap into it. We will find that God has the power to get you through what you have to go through. Now you gotta cooperate with that you can tap into grace while your doing the wrong thing presence a lot of people who just are kind of stuck in a place of depression and you gotta decide I will ask God to give me grace about this which I otherwise would be depressed about. You gotta choose you gotta choose to walk in the grace of God. If you choose to walk in the present depression is overcome, and overwhelm you.

If you choose the walking anxiety. That's good, overcome and overwhelm you. For instance, in Philippians 4. Paul said now about the problems in your life. He said don't worry about anything but pray about everything God.

In other words, if you want to tap into a grace that sufficient you take what you want worry about what you would be depressed about what you want to have anxiety about and your play about it and God and then you say the Lord in exchange of given you my trouble and I will ask you to give me your grace and Paul said we will discover that God's grace is sufficient. Let me give you that same principle from an Old Testament passage in the book of Isaiah the prophet Isaiah, speaking on behalf of God said to Israel. Isaiah 43 in verse two Isaiah 43 verse two when you pass through the waters, I will be with you when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you when you walk through the fire, you will not be earned. The flames will not set you ablaze. I love that promise. God gave Israel and gives also to you and to me he said, when you pass through the waters. Now I know some of us wish there was a translation and accurate translation. That said, if you pass through the water, but I want to let you know I checked it out ahead of time.

There is no translation that does justice to the Hebrew that this Old Testament text is based on that says if every credible translation of the original Hebrew says when you pass through. You know what that means ladies and that means that whether you would like written now and then you will pass through some waters right now and then you going to pass through some rivers. Every now and then you're going to find yourself walking through some fiery trials, but the problem is the promise is when that happens, God says no about the fact that you're in the water over you in the file.

He said I am going to be with you in a bad place, at least have some good company and a bad season. I just realize that God said all by yourself, right here with you and the Lord is never an innocent bystander whenever we find ourselves in a difficult place and we are saying we walk with him. We know him as our Savior and Lord will leave you and I will never forsake one of the reasons you want to get say this because God says when you blow to me I belong to you and every time you go through the water.

Time to go to the fire. I am right there with you and I'm not just a trial, which I've never drowned a Michael let you drink the sample get you through the waters will not sweep over you.

The idea is for you to be is overcome by water like a person in the process of drowning until you can surface and get to the place where you can get where he said that'll never happen when you belong to me that you go through the water, but I will not let the water get into you as a wonderful promise goes in the water. You only drown when the water gets in you and God said, I'll let you get what I want to get in you to go to trial, but I will try. Well, you will give you the ability to without being burned about you, but that's a promise I can accept from the Lord. And so we know that his grace is sufficient. God says I will get you through what you have to go through and so is his mother did not realize that God's grace had been sufficient. She didn't focus on the fact that God had gotten her through this experience, she focused on the pain of it and look at what she did and partly she has already come through the experience because she named the child after he got here, something she obviously had an awful childbirth experience traumatic process of getting his boy into the world. She must've been screaming in Holland, and No bot at the point mean she's gotten through it she's gotten through it here now. The pain is subsiding.

I know that maybe she wasn't all still have some pain in the aftereffects I get that but it wasn't as bad as it had been once you traumatic experience of getting your children was over. You might have some left over pain but it was not that that same level and so now she's got the boy holding him in harms. What does she do instead of thanking God for his grace and his provision and get her through it. She looks back and sees a name you you call me when God gets you through you know what I went through immense pain when we can build having the pain will be right back with more of today's destined for Victor message from Pastor Paul Sheppard listen to the broadcast on demand@pastorpaul.net that's Pastor Paul.net to find a host of great resources that are online store, including books and DVD messages from Pastor Paul. You can also subscribe to the podcast Apple podcast it's modified or wherever you enjoy your programs, your special call with the rest of today's destined for Victor message the power of your words. Another point, but right now let me show you what she was. She sufficient grace of God in the naming of the chassis got a name that boy anything God brought me through pain she could've made them praise God. He's a deliverer and all dominoes Hebrew names that have some great significant names I give God praise God saving God delivers and God healed all that she said you called me pain and when you realize God's grace is sufficient in your life realize that you have now the potential to move on and you don't have to turn around and reflect and remember all. Yes, the testimony will be there but make sure you state the testimony in such a way that you are acknowledging I'm out of it now. I've come through it. Now all it was rough but by the grace of God I have come through itdid so we grew up singing right now but as going to live. You may say so you grab no charges.

I got it.

What I said to come and sing and we come this far by faith. We all know, I see him walking and I grew up in church with just saying they process the came down the center and was sent out to search the came they stood in a get in position in order to strike up and they would say in all the Lord, trusting in his word, can't turn around. We've come this far by faith. Listen, you made it through by the grace of God and so you gotta remember when you're in your traumatic experience. God says I'll be with you and I'm going to see to it that you get through it. Now let's look at a second lesson we can learn again you learn in Scripture, both from people's great example and you also learn from their mistakes. The Bible says things written aforetime were written for our learning, you're supposed to learn from everybody in the Scripture things it did something right and wrong and this woman, this was an ill-advised decision. I'm sure she meant well, but this was an ill-advised decision someone learning how to do it better when we do what I traumatic experiences we don't want to make the same mistakes that Jabez's mother made so remember that God's grace is sufficient. Number two, and here's what I really want to park speak of faith and conviction speak words of faith and conviction when you do what you traumatic experiences when you pick up something difficult to speak words of faith and conviction. I am more convinced than ever that if we want to experience God's Canaan land God's promise land. God's best for our lives, we got a learn to speak in a way that is consistent with God taking us to such a place. I'm concerned that we have a generation of believers that speak, doubt and unbelief and fear. We speak problems and we magnify all things and then we expect God to help us when instead we need to learn to get our mouths in our confession time with.

We serve promise to take us to higher heights. Now I realize there are people in the body of Christ their teachers in the body of Christ, who do this business of confession. I know I did. And I've heard some of them do real damage. I've heard some hyper faith.

Teachers just talk about. You have to be so very careful about every syllable that comes out, you'll now and I'll take it to hyper extreme.

I get it.

I heard some of that, suggesting that a lot of us have got a learn to speak right our languages. Doubt and fear are languages, pain, and past her and we need to begin to speak the language of forward thinking and forward movement and here's what God has done about what I'm going through and here's what God will do the Lord is my refuge in Scripture: Psalm 91 verses one into the psalmist says in the shelter of the most high will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Lord he is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Say what God says the Lord says even when you're going through something to spend all your time talking about the stuff you're going through, so I might be a refuge walk-in in one of those huge grain comes and Jess is pouring rain. Place will hang and you can just talk yourself in there you'd rather not be moving. The wind is blowing in the rain is still somewhere but all your protect psalmist says God shelter the King James says he will do well in the secret place walking in the rain secret place, by the Almighty and the psalmist said something about how bad the storm is my refuge the Lord that you're my secret place.

Thank you Lord that I'm not losing my mind. Thank you Lord that I'm not going crazy but keep me please place I will say of the Lord he is my refuge, my God in him. I trust you learn to speak words of faith conviction and blessing. We learn to say the right things.

Some of us have jacked up language that is largely responsible for staying in a bad place, wrong thing about all the problems and started talking about the solution and God is trying to move us all and we got a learn to speak consistently with where we are going. Here's what Paul said in Colossians chapter 3 Colossians chapter 3 verse 17.

Here's what Paul said and whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Whatever you do in word or deed, whatever you do in word or words do things. It's not just your deeds, that do things I want you to realize your words have more significance than many of us have ever thought about your words are making a difference for good or for bad. You already know, at some level that you words can aid or they can hinder your words can heal or they can hurt your words can encourage and your words can discourage your words can motivate and your words can D motivate your words can in steel and your words can instill despair. It's all a question of what you say and we know that think back on your own history. There are two categories of people who are easily recalled in our minds people who spoke words that were helpful and encouraging affirming words that help to get through some crisis words that built you up when you were down words that gave you fresh courage when fear was trying to envelop your heart and mind.

We can all think of people who spoke words to us that were very helpful and we can also all think of another category of folk who spoke words that hurt deeply words that wounded and we remember both categories of people you might've forgotten a whole lot of folk you run into July time, but those two categories, you will remember the folk that helped you with what they said and the folk that harms you. I can think of Encouraging Word so can you. Somebody said something timely and they said it right shift over now. Colossians for the next chapter over verse six and you'll find Paul say that your conversation be always full of grace. Season with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. That's the target learn to speak words of faith and conviction. One of those goals are words that are full of grace and their season with some thank you for being here for today's message the power of your words, if you'd like more information about the Destin for Victor ministry or this month special offer.
