Let's join Pastor because he shares today's Destin for victory message. There's an app for that. James chapter 1 beginning with verse 18 he chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. My dear brothers, take note of this. Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says if you underline or highlight in your Bible you want to underline or highlight verse 22 do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.

Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it. He will be blessed in what he does. If anyone considers himself religious and does not keep a tight rein on his tongue. Lord have mercy, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.

You get yourself out of the environment so that temptations cannot pull you in you, how many know the temptations have a gravitational pull, and the longer you hang around something that you're tempted by the more you will be sucked in and so he's taught us that we have to learn to avoid temptation not only get away from it and overcome it but don't even put yourself in the arena hi: don't shop at temptation Mall because sooner or later you will buy some of the temptation molding have signs up everything must go and what you have to learn is that everything must not go to your house when it comes at temptation.

So you gotta learn how to stay away from it. Now look at how he moves into the next phase of his teaching here in James one and adverse 18 he says to us, we been chosen by God and he gave us birth.

There would be a lot of companies who would allow you to download an app and it would cause you to be able to use your phone in all, one of three to the course. Now all of us are quite used to them, but at that point it was a new concept that when you buy this device suddenly you can get apps that will help you in all kinds of practical way. Therefore, to have absent that they give you coupons and discounts for things in their apps that will help you can bank now on just smart device take a picture of a check. First of all we were born again as a result of the word of truth.

In other words, the only way you get saved is somebody's gotta preach to you the word of truth. Some I've got to share with you the word of truth, and he says it is that word of truth band that allows you to respond to it. Open your heart and receive Christ and be born again. That's why it's important for us to be people who share with others in our lives. The word of truth because until they get the word of truth that can't respond to the word of truth, and until they can respond to the word of truth. They won't have the opportunity to be say, but once they hear that Jesus loves you that when he came to the earth. He died on a cross for your sins, and that if you open your heart and accept him. I thank God for every Sunday school teacher I ever had.

I thank God for the bad ones, and I have some bad ones. So we all did to back an old Sunday school days and we had teachers good and bad but they shared the word of truth, and as a result, as young people we began to hear the message that Jesus loves us, we begin to hear the message that we don't have to die and our sins we can be saved by God's grace. It's because somebody stopped and shared the word with you, parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts. Anybody who has sway over especially the generation coming for God's sake share the word of truth with them. Don't you have a bunch of little. He then grandchildren and you won't let him know about Jesus. Tell their parents upfront when they come to my house to go hear about Jesus, I will my kids and I will my kids will grow make up their own mind. Don't bring them to my house everything in my house is going hear the word of truth. Save you want to get awarded truth. Not only is called the school year and in the summer they sent us the Bible camp and vacation Bible school and all we all know even in the summertime chart you trying to play outside the bounds would be over at noon. I don't care who snickered get ready for people put you down and snickering because you still believe the Bible that's the norm these days I see people rolling their eyes on the back of a head because somebody has witnessed the demo shared faith with them. I shared on airplane whereby get a chance let somebody know I want to have a Bible out on the table in front of me. That's why I put out a Bible reading plan every year and I just ask you to read one chapter of the New Testament one judge of the Old Testament every year. Some of you read the entire Bible in a year. That's great, great reading plan for you to do that, but that's a good bit of reading and so I typically say read at least one chapter in the New Testament. One chapter the Old Testament every day during the weekdays.

Whatever it is because you need to read your Bible before you get up and get started. I just often grab my phone right by my bed and go to my my Bible app is an app for that. In fact, I have two different versions. I had the Old Testament set up on one version and the new test was up on the other gramophone. I just go to the right to the Scriptures will be reading that day and I'm still in bed. I'm reading the word of God before I get up of the devil meet million people meet me and challenges of meeting me once I get my shower and get out the door so I gotta get the word before I get you and read the word of God is too busy not to really just wake up and read it before you get showered, wake up and read it before your baby because you need the were born you need anything else. Listen. We all act like we got mouths and want to hear all want to say something but brothers and sisters. If you're going to live a blessed life. A productive life. A fruitful life like God can bless you. Must be quick to listen, quick to listen, slow to speak, we don't all have to hear what you think. Please understand what you think is important to you, but not to the rest of us will see the way I see it there's a problem there is the problem way I see it, that's the problem.

The more you listen the more you take in God's word, the less you'll be inclined to have a personal perspective and so he says quick to listen, slow to speak and then look what he says, slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. He says we have to learn when he brings up anger bring up one of many examples he could've brought up but I love as I study this passage over the years. I love the genuine thought that he put into this because what he is saying is when you allow emotions and uses as example here anger when you allow that to drive your life it will never produce. He says what God desires to many of us are then by our emotions when we ought to be letting the word said in and we all drive our emotions as a passenger in the vehicle of our lives, but if you let your emotions get in the driver seat commonly know if you were led by your emotions every day of your life you would never accomplish the will of God if I let my anger will the day that might make me make decisions that are always wise to see people out here on the street people out here being shot in their cars because they cut somebody off and the person come back around and flipped them off for some like that and rolled them out and they respond, the one who did the first cut off the bed. The person angry.

What you should do region will tell you what to do what you should do is say oh I'm sorry that surrender yeah my bad inside and see you like a job almost made you so sorry.
