Hello and thanks for stopping by this Friday edition of Destin for victory.

Always glad to have you with us. Just a few moments, Pastor Paul Sheppard shares his message. We are a family but before you get started.

Would like to share this important reminder of a special resource for you this month titled finding strength in tough times and before I give you the details and how you can receive this as a thank you for your generous gift during our critical summer months. Pastor Paul has joined me for a studio in California pastor.

We've had some tough times during this past year. Here's what we know from Scripture. There will be more on their toes about this booklet and why finding strength in tough times is so important to everyone listening. Yes sir I don't know anyone who would argue against the idea that we have endured tough times over the past year and 1/2 that none of us would have predicted. I said it last year but I'll repeat it again when I went into 2020. I was so deep about the idea of going into a new decade man. I couldn't wait for the 20s to get here and I was so excited, but boy three months later we were scratching our heads saying what in the world is going on and the bottom line is tough times have always existed. We've experienced unique tough times over the past year and 1/2 and there are going to be more in the future of one sort or another.

So the bottom line is I believe that we must take the word of God as our lamp to our feet and a light to our pathway.

One of the people who helps us do that in the word is a man were all acquainted with name David because boy did he go through some tough times, the very king he was trying to serve was trying to kill him. And so, in the book of first Samuel we read about David being on the run.

He's a fugitive from a man is done nothing but love and it's not for days, weeks or months. He's a fugitive for years and all he's done is try to help this guy talk about tough times. David went through them and he tells us how to get through them just by his very example. So this booklet.

I'm really excited to share this month because I want people to understand there is strength we can find in our tough times. If you donate this month. I'd love to send it to you and I know it will be a great blessing in your life. That booklet is called finding strength in tough times. As our gift to you by request for your generous donation to Destin for victory this month. And speaking of tough times. Life can be scary like a dangerous what I see. Have the shepherd go on for if I learned the stick close to you know that's the key to get your stuff is how closely tied to the shepherd you are. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures.

He leads me beside the point. Waters today on Destin for victory. Pastor Paul Sheppard reminds us that life is full of challenges and valleys and steep climbs. That's why we have to stick close to the shepherd because only then can we be led to green pastures and still waters. So stay with us here or visit Pastor Paul.net to listen on demand.

Pastor Paul.net is Pastor Paul Sheppard with today's message. We are a family listen we don't need to hide. We need to be together. We need to learn to find points of agreement. There so the body of Christ that don't believe in the sign gifts. By that I mean the gifts that word of knowledge for the wisdom of prophecy, tongues, interpretation of tongues, miracles, gifts of healing, though sort of thing. Some folk don't believe those are present in today's church. Some of my colleagues on the radio preacher God put me on the radio and went with my clown himself I'm on the radio you list the sensations and a serious dude just went off Hickam Pastor Paul and some of his listeners stay in the so they don't know and turn it around the foolishness. That's fine but there's other folk whom they turn on a few minutes early and he's finishing up his office. There word and all that they put up with that. So to get to me. Now, listen up at we got from folks like your mama when taken my kids to school and they love him. Pastor Paul regularly if the kids like it that you may may have been John we get generation to listen to some I don't have the millennial and they always run say when you know what Paul said thank you for telling usual house for people don't stand a chance. Some people can type like they wear suspenders Bill said all listen. I am sure something don't need healing will need prayer. They just need to crack up.

Just need to loosen up. Just let yourself crack to stop being so tight pent up to see Ms. Kristin just looking Jesus and nowhere near your face. You need a Jesus that gets in.

We have to learn not everybody in the families will be like you learn to accept people even though they have belief systems that differ from yours because what would different about the reason we have all these denominations were differing over debatable things.

Not everything is crystal clear the essentials are clear. So we need to focus on the essentials when you're dealing with somebody who's, whose brand of faith in certain areas is different than yours. At least let's get together on the essentials, the death, burial and resurrection of Christ is an essential. The virgin birth of Christ is essential. That's get together on those that whine about and you know some folks don't. So I was about to get some people want one deal with people in all charismatic stuff and tongues speaking. Listen, I got a revelation for you if you don't believe in tongues don't speak I just saw the big problem you don't believe in, so I never expect to hear you speaking in tongues. I do believe in him and I don't have to pray in tongues around you because you won't get mad so I just pray in tongues in my prayer language and in my closet, and when I'm around folk who are okay with Brandon Jones but I'm not going make it on down drag out point of contention.

We got notified out here and we so busy fighting each other that we don't know. My mother, so don't get this stuff accepted him even when you have differences of opinion.

Some folks government become Christians who always focused on the top 10 sins contents and they look informing your life, adultery, fornication, line stealing, I've seen Christians over the years hung up on certain send and ignore other ones.

If this I want to find out okay so y'all are are really mad at anybody who is had a sexual fall or whatever. Have you ever read about these questions who will consign you to hell if you have some, conspicuous fall into sin, but all they will gossip all day will gossip backbite all that is sin clearly spoken of his sin in the Bible. Some folk drinking, smoking, going to hail the Bible speaks against drunkenness calls us away from drunkenness, but how many know if people are in that lifestyle and there in the grips of it getting out is not going be quick and easy and be helped by you consign them to hell and have you ever noticed some of the folk who can he be around liquor don't want anyway in them. Sin sees in them same folk can't even pass the refrigerator never went back and let me send the same Bible that talks about drunkenness and UK name past which are wholly self canning pass by without grabbing some else hungry. I'm trying to show you that there's gotta be room in the family for folk instead of you condemning every body learn to love people in a way that covers this some things about you that really cool but I'm not the Holy Spirit that we walk together in covenant my company brothers call me on stuff.

I called them on stuff that's marketing covenant, but we had the kind of relationship we said to each other at a certain point in our lives. Tell me things I need to know from somebody I can trust will be right back with more of today's Destin for victory message from Pastor Paul Sheppard, senior pastor, destiny Christian Fellowship in Fremont, California listen to the broadcast on demand it. Also find a host of great resources in our online store will Satan want you to question the truth, and the more you wonder, more likely you are to wonder is Pastor Paul and the rest of today's Destin for victory message. We are family so we sharpen one another as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another fecal summary all you will use when you separate your fans. Fans can sharpen you fans can help you grow because they always tell you how wonderful you are. You know if U this is a lie dressed up as all it is just dressed up with a tuxedo but as a lie because you are not to be flattered all the time. Sometimes you need to be rebuked down some. I need to love you enough that you know what you need to cut that out.

You are fully yourself or for the sawmills are mostly young goldplated unit is my love you enough to tell you what you are full of and you believe him or us to not play in the world is full to play in your life harness in the family. Finally, let me tell you if we will learn to be a functional family tolerate put up with.

Read Ephesians 4 you'll see the kind of language. The first couple of verses of Ephesians 4 will tell you exactly how to get along in the family uses words like you got a forbearing one another in love, nor forebear means you gotta put up with stuff you like, make me sick but I will put up with it because I need you.

I don't get to throw you away. Just because you make me sick sometimes a man see you instantly. Also people away as soon as they make you mad, you done – you will meet those people that you thrown away so we have to learn to put up with things we don't always like about one another forbearing one another in love.

Strive to keep the unity of the spirit.

You told Ephesians 4 in the bond of peace.

You gotta make every effort to walk in unity, so in a family you have to do the same thing. They don't get married and I do the same thing make a marriage work. Just thousand always make you wonderfully happy, guaranteed. They won't always make you wonderfully happy, and a married person who tells you every day is just I can't even I can't believe how how unbelievably wonderful my life is sharing it with this person and I get to wake up and see him today if a married person tells you that Ron Forrest run because they are so out of touch with reality.

They have some days where it really wonderfully happy with one another, but there be other days when you say do you keep me from catching the case in his life.

Would you siblings but we will be the family of God together we can fight off any enemy, because the power of agreement recalled by Tony about a film and talk about often on over the years.

Some of my ministry, but the second the Sutton family. The family group within Germantown section of Philadelphia born and raised in Germantown from savers with Will Smith and filled up want to raise on the playgrounds west. He was raising West without raising Germantown Germantown. My neighbor is a family called the Sutton family. These people were known for being a fighting family in my neighborhood all him to fight Mrs. Sutton could bang for real. All of this to justify family. One day my first year junior high with Roosevelt during high school in Philadelphia some greater I thought.

I think I'm some casino you back down over still dissuade school district back in the day up to six grade you had a single teacher all day long and you got to seventh grade junior high. You had. Different subject, and it was a different teacher for every. Islam now junior high bigshot around all the different classes so one of my friends from from my street. He was a little younger than me.

He was either fifth or sixth grade I'm in seventh grade I came home from school one day he's in the driveway, cry Socratic was what you will pay Thomas a boy who was messing with him a school school.

I just left now junior high he come with this boy at the school and is not on the week ahead is to tell you what a tomorrow I get out early because you'll still gotta go to 3 o'clock.

Joe still little get out, get what was once on that day or less. To tell you what.

I'm a be up your school at three. We all come out to me 3 o'clock bell rings. Kids point out Saul Craig he saw me as I pointed to look to a guy I walked also say men, I heard that you miss when the boy did you, he's short he would not like where my nose is and said you bumped my chest since the year so I'm confused. That way I'm in seventh grade he's in for the six and he up in the face of my year and what I'm trying to figure out why this is happening that same boy they had Craig hauled off and hit me in my chest hard time. I looked at his face and I realized why he was that bold. He was in the Sutton family. He had two brothers older than him.

One was in junior high with me yet another brother couple years above us the whole family.

I told you could fight, but I've never seen the younger set, but the guy that was in junior high. In my same some great. I knew he could fight. I've seen him with some of the full and in the one a couple of probably ninth-grade. I've seen him beat some folk down and it dawned on me. I sold in his face. That's the Sutton boy I I'm pretty sure I can take him. My mother raise no fool quickly. I thought okay if I happen beat him in the schoolyard tomorrow.

Roosevelt Junior his brother would be waiting for me at the gate and I had seen what his brother could get home I will certain, but his brother mopped up the straight with me and I realized the best way to deal with this is to do what the Bible said come let us reason together, so I said to him, so I like his plans didn't mean anything. Blinking back tears, no matter the stability, hostilities, junior high you on the Sutton boy frightens you and I go to school go there with him. I need you to be here looking out for my boy. He's my neighbor only to hit him.

I need you looking out for him. Make sure nobody messed with him would you do that for me. I will not win praise the Lord, but because we will be a fighting family have each other's back will be able to mess with us as we plan for one another, wearing one another with one another with one another so that all when thanks so much for joining us for today's message.
