We arrived now at the word that God gave to the apostle John by the appearance of Jesus on the island of Patmos where John was in exile and he said I want to write down. We know that not only from the book of the Revelation. We also know that from Ephesians chapter 6 where the apostle Paul told us that were not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of darkness, against spiritual wickedness in high places, so he tells us put on the whole armor of God and what he begins to list the arm of God.

One of the things he says they are in Ephesians chapter 6 is in the gotta make sure you have the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. We also know from Hebrews chapter 4 that the word of God is quick, and powerful. It is sharper than any double-edged sword, and so we know that this is a word from him who have the sharp, double-edged sword. None other than Jesus Christ himself. He says in my mouth is my word and my word determines the will of God.

When God speaks to us. We know what he wants. We know God's will by what God says and so God out of the mouth of Christ and his apostles lets us know what the will of God is so right away he is saying to this church is a word from him who has back powerful final word in his mouth.

I want you to realize that God is saying to this church and to us today. When I speak you must take heed, because I'm speaking are divinely inspired word to help you understand how to live in accordance with my will, why because the word of God is what is going to judge us in the in.

I want to let you know you are headed toward judgment. I am adding toward judgment the Bible says that the judgment what are we going to be judged by what we thought how we felt.

In other words, I know the challenge of the city you live in. He describes it as a place where Satan has his throne.

What's he talking about about the fact that there in Asia minor or Roman Asia. Today, it would be Turkey in that particular area. He said I realize that Satan has his throne that there are some real spiritual enemies that you're facing their because this was a town that had bold emperor worship. I told her one of the other letters that there was emperor worship going on and some of the towns where they literally worship the guy was Caesar at that time was ahead of Rome at that time they had Emperor worship.

But on top of that here in this town. They also had idolatry to the Greek gods God such as Zeus and other popular Greek gods and sold their lives were characterized by loss worship, whether they worship Caesar on a throne whether they worship Zeus or one of the other false gods was worship that was not worship to the true and living God, and he said as a result of people being in false worship. Satan has his throne because Satan always has interest in you worshiping anything or anybody other than God himself. So he describes it as a place where Satan has his throne and he says I know that's where you living he said yet you remain true to my name. You remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me, even in the days of Oedipus, who was one of the martyrs from that church.

He said that faithful witness, who was put to death in your city simply because he was my child. He was a leader of my church and he was put to death in your city. You remain true to my main you did not renounce your faith in me.
