Thanks for stopping by. If you're like most of us you try to mimic other people from time to time, parents, mentors, coaches, pastors see the way they do what they do and you try to do it the same way that the great thing about you is that you are the only you. There is what today pastor Paul has three questions will help you identify your unique gifts and abilities in Christ.

Stay with us here, or download the podcast on demand pastor Paul.net that's modified or whatever you enjoy your podcasts with his message, assessing the shape you're in.

Here's pastor Paul requesting to help you explore your abilities number one what do I excel at doing just simple but yet worth exploring what you excel at doing what you do far better than average. There are some things God called you to do when you can do them far better than average part of the abilities he built into the likes of door number two.

What abilities and my best known for, among my family members and friends. Sometimes it's worth it to check out what you will see me being really good at doing metal as the enemies trying to help you, but the people who love you so you know try to do right now. Pastor's teaching on getting a good return and I'm trying to I'm trying to get up get a sense of my abilities.

What you see me as being really good at doing and listen to what they have to say it could be some areas you ever really thought about putting more time and effort into, but it would be worth it in the third question is what were my favorite subjects in school or as I studied on my own. In some cases, schooling. You saw your aptitude you so where you were drawn and where you have the ability to excel in school and so you need to pay attention to that there are some areas where you naturally are good at what other folks struggle with will have some errors and is not even work to you and other folks. Let me in praying Holland help me pass this test. But in that area usually wrapped up right just take the exam and it was easy back in school to school and college and you come out sweat beads of sweat, although you got some old rag and a classmate never happened to him how to do so was easy and you think so you have those areas. What were your favorite subjects look at him P stands for personality personality. Now remember, go back to Psalm one 3914. The psalmist said, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. His works are wonderful.

I know that full well that pertains not only to your abilities that pertains to your personality.

God gave you uniqueness in terms of your personality. I look a lot at temperaments. I believe there are four basic temperaments. As I look at human construction by God's divine design I see that there are four basic temperaments and then there are blends most people are not 100% a single temperament. Most people are bland, so there like 12 primary blends of temperaments where somebody has a predominant temperament and someone has a secondary temperament and it makes up the uniqueness of who you are, coupled with your life experiences in which your upbringing and your education. All the other factors it makes you very unique for temperaments, sanguine summary on a sanguine same ones are the most extroverted people on the planet. Those are the people who are the loudest, the most talkative, you know, a sanguine everybody in here know something once because they enter first before you see something with wonderful people. I love what you got understand yourself if you're in a small group got sanguine at least wanted to win there because the leader has to constantly say now. Who else has always hauled in the time Joe, but a good leader has the grain them as I just want to hear from so-and-so sanguine us. In order for minute and they come back. I was among you just got understand it was a sanguine that it was a sanguine man talk talk talk talk a whole day would people come home get on the phone with love to talk to people all the time hanging out sanguine great people.

They have strengths and weaknesses. They tend to be in some areas rather undisciplined soldier primarily sanguine. You gotta watch that tendency to be undisciplined.

I believe Peter one of the sobs of Christ. I believe he was sanguine when I read about him in the pages of Scripture because when Jesus asked the question always answer who do men say that I will Christ the son of the living God, thank you very much. You happily get that one right.

Well, but he still talking remember the night that Jesus was to be betrayed. The one talking all man things not looking too good. Who Jesus.

I think I'm about to go down if you like is a something happened. He said, but I tell you why do you believe you will be with you man you are too good to Mrs. Simon, Simon Sabin have called your name specifically and asked for permission to shake violently. Jesus said, but I prayed for you that your faith doesn't fail and when you're converted spend the rest of your life strengthening your brothers now. No one met Cosby had just finished saying I'm going down what you are telling him when you have your worst failure in your life and God blesses you to recover from it. Spend the rest of your life helping other people. You know what you meant, but hours later he be when they arrested Jesus and they start looking for his followers and some I saw him sit the same for Gmail what you do you both time a little girl said followers limit proved to them. I don't know him. He first Bible study for. Don't you think that's the wrong swearing that is not the court, swearing that the kind you did before you got saved, and some still struggling with now, live beyond this no future in front so we all had a swearing victory yet right thing.

That's what Peter did is that they believe on the bike. Nice people, but need Jesus.

Second, temperaments choleric goals of the strong natural leaders there somewhat extroverted, the sanguine someone a strong natural leader, strong will, people worry about what up choleric things could be going tell you you're the committee would choleric you never had to say what you think about this. They already told they didn't know chaser I know them well your pastor by one.

I like that stupid to learn discipline.

We have to learn to watch what we say and how we say it because my first thought is so word on crack when you come up with what we will will be right back with more of today's testing for Victor message from Pastor Paul Sheppard member, you can listen to the broadcast anytime on demand@pastorpaul.net that's Pastor Paul.net will also find a host of great resources or online store.

Stay with us after today's message from Pastor Paul joins me in the studio. First, let's listen to some good advice about how to find and use your unique gifts and abilities in Christ against Pastor Paul with the rest of today's message assessing the shape you're in all possible. I am sure was choleric when this came in second missionary journey accept the 15% I John Mark and would be Becky and would be ready leave at 3 o'clock. Paul to stop the presses he not going going deposit memory, don't you know he left us on the first trip back out there was somebody can't even handle the original sweeper and Barb is called when we have our minds made up until we learn that that's part of the growth you learn. I'm learning I'm doing pretty good. There is still working on what you learn how to around because you can just shoot everything and everybody down all the time you use all all all the casualties.

This all so we have to learn to give people a chance to learn in your own experience will help you with that general weakness of the more you can learn how to be compassionate toward the people, but Paul he can be talked into it at that point is life and they get two different expressions of the second missionary journey because Paul refused to let John Mark go with him so he got a new companion Silas and Barnabas was a son of encouragement say we cannot get this young man another chance. So he took him and they did their own version of the second missionary journey and so you got sanguine.

She got choleric's then you got melancholy souls of the touchy-feely people there. So in touch with their emotions. So in touch with their senses and their feelings and their perceptions, and I just feel they start a sentence is what I feel wonderful people the world would be colorless without melancholy they bring in the artistic they bring in the anesthetic they bring those little colors and dimensions and hold to it, but they can drive you crazy to somebody all you know your family loves you, but there are times when a good look at you see me just sick and they because everything for you. You don't major in fax and logic you majoring feelings and perceptions and no I just think we just feel like we need to go. In summary I see handwritten testify. I see the testimony of all listen. We need to fax the perception problems something that the end of the day. I'm not logical in nature, but if you have all collies you got a really big problem so close they will feel themselves to death. So you gotta learn the blend that's why. Fortunately, opposites attract, and typically you know sanguine isn't married to another sanguine thereby will be talking about choleric's don't typically marry because it would just be a fight to the galleys typically don't melancholy the feeling nobody is working on John the apostle John wrote the book of Revelation is one of the gospel of John and the epistles of John. John and I believe with all my read about him in Scripture. He was melancholy. You see the feelings come through his writing anointed God breeze Scripture but God didn't take people's personalities out just because the use of the right descriptor so you can read the Scriptures and you can see the different temperaments, repeaters, epistle be like if you suffer you saying something about John was he right I rent you little children that you love one another. We all stop talking too much and you will get into the perception and the love but if you have all the stuff that's going be a problem to John was a disciple of the lake on Jesus while they were reclined. Bob said he had his head on Jesus and the whole get up 13 God so anyway old. Don't mess with my message does different temperaments with minimal and phlegmatic.

So the fourth basic temperament, phlegmatic's goals are the most introverted people on earth phlegmatic's rarely get excited visibly excited when phlegmatic gets excited. Take notes is happening nice. The real chilled out laid-back calm, collected what's all the fuss is okay we don't be. While talking so loud that we need somebody to bring the car.

This was a phlegmatic I'm sure Bob according the son of encouragement pragmatics, rather than talk a big game of calling a whole bunch of folks. They rather not get the Mike talked about a figment of a revocable alongside somebody say hey man, I know you must've. The last time that you can kill at this time you will do real good. This came on Sycamore school that I know you ran home scalable is going on and rode the first time and holy Obama, you will be better this time so you can understand your personality and most of us I guess it or not one we were predominantly one of those for an inward.

Secondarily, some of the things that help bring some of the elements to our lives. Get to know who you read up on temperaments and others have written some great folks over the years on temperament. Get to know them get to know yourself when you identify yourself. They also will see both your strengths and weaknesses. Good thing about it is not like one wins and the others lose all mom have strengths all have weaknesses. Phlegmatic's weaknesses are, they can learn to make a decision they can sit there forever and look at it I been on committees with experiences God wants you to pick it up next message right at this point, but let me just give you this basic information and now I'll fill in the blanks as we go.

Romans 828 says God uses all things because of them all work together for good. What is that mean that means both your positive and negative experiences God is going to work them together and that's going to be part of how he is shaped you to serve people. So will look at some passages that confirm that, but I just want to let you know that God is the ultimate recycler. He knows how to take what has gone on, even if it seems bad. He recycles everything he recycles everything.

Nothing gets wasted in God's economy. You have a shameful part of your past costs is, shake the shame out of it so that it doesn't render you unable to do anything.

I'll keep you from feeling like your life is a waste and he says I will use it.

Some of you have some experiences in your past goddesses. I don't want you to bury them and act like they didn't happen.

Let me heal you through it and did let me use it as part of your testimony because I must send somebody to you who needs to know where you been, because that they are and therefore the shame and they don't know that they can survive it. But gospel centered to come alongside Salome tell you little story place and just when you need to know he can bring you out of anything. He'll send somebody to you who he's already brought out of something so God would use her experiences at some great advice from Pastor Paul Shepard today.

You were born an original tone live like a copy. Thanks for joining us for today's destined for victory message assessing the shape you're in. Pastor Paul Joyce. We know from a studio in California, and pastor. If the last 12 months of taught us anything it's that storms yes even pandemics are going to touch our lives.

Many listening today are dealing with the effects of a terrible time in her world and are part of course goes out to them. So today we've a great resource that can help, but first want you sure word of encouragement with us and how we can learn to navigate the storms, absolutely. In Matthew seven I know most Bible readers are very familiar with it.

Jesus talks about the fact that there are two different ways you can build your life, and he says you can build like the guy who built his house on the sand or you can build like the guy who builds on the rock and the fact of the matter is I'm trying through this series and through this resource this month to help people understand storms are inevitable and some people see that as as unfortunate. I don't know that I do. Jesus just stated that quite matter-of-factly.

He said storms are coming, I noticed this time when I was putting this booklet together.

Jesus didn't hit anything about. If you live right. You won't have to worry about storms. You know when I hear people preach like that like what Bible are you are you preaching from Jesus said storms are coming. He said the storm blow on both types of houses. The difference is the impact it has. And we will build right. We're going to see the ability of God to keep us even in the midst of storms like what were all going through in the time to prepare is before the storm comes absolutely, absolutely the best time to prepare for any wars in the time of peace and the best time to prepare for storm is right now because even if you're in one now you need to retrofit and make sure your life is built firmly on the rock, who is Jesus Christ because more storms are coming. But his plan is for us to endure and survive through them yet.

Reminds me of the age-old question when did Noah built the ark. The answer of course is before the rain. Thanks for those words of encouragement Pastor Paul well at a time in our nation and our world are going through a few storms.
