Is that the coffee table and read from it. I want you to get the maximum benefit because the power this book has the power to change the way we think, the way we act the way we live the way we love is Wilson looking across the bridge with the date, is the senior pastor of the bridge includes the North Carolina. It's true that most of us have Bibles all over our houses with the question is reason find out why the Bible is better for you if you open it up today as Pastor David continues in the book of Romans chapter before getting to today's teach from beginning to in the Bible shows the special nature of God's relationship with the nation. What does that have to do with you today. Romans chapter 11 tells us that God covenant relationship with Israel has huge applications for you to help you understand more. Pastor David was the scene to video record called his Bible.

This powerful resource will encourage and strengthen you as you learn how connected you are God's chosen Bible is our gift donation to help the station and beyond cross the bridge from death.

Now, here's David to his teaching the word of God turn with me to Romans chapter 3 we talked about before, that this book of Romans has impacted not only personal lives, but is also impacted human history because Martin Luther was so impacted by this that he helped fuel the fires of the Reformation. A few hundred years ago and the whole landscape in Europe changed church government change. Human governments change something is saying Bob same Holy Spirit is here today to change your life.

The same words go to verse three chapter 3 verse says for what son did not believe will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect. Certainly not in the let God be true and every man a liar is written that you may be justified in your word, and may overcome when you are judged. Verse five but if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God. What shall we say is God unjust to inflict wrath because a man is engaging in in what we term rhetoric or he's a persuasive argument or kinda got guiding the thought process of the reader. Asking questions and rhetoric. That's where we get the term rhetorical question. Sometimes you have to question that you really don't want to answer for it. That's a rhetorical question to be dogma. If you ask your chap have not told you a thousand times to clean up your room, you are not really want an answer. Are you not want your child look about you actually closer to 665 I think you really not one answer that's a rhetorical questions of the what Paul is trying to do is try to get us to think and he says hey because we mess up doesn't mean God is unjust. Some people use this art they think of different formats like will. If God knew we were going to mess up, and he created us with this free choice isn't that like God creating evil absolutely.

God created us with this ability to choose.

We are responsible for our choices happens as you have children, and as I grow up, they become responsible for their own choices and certainly some I will God commanded me with the ability to commit murder. So by commit murder. It's God's fall will not know know know know it's not. And people try to discuss this is no God gave you the ability to choose God created you, where you didn't have a choice about not committing a murder and it held you accountable for committing murder that would be unfair but gives us choice gives each one of us the ability to choose verse six.

Certainly not then how will God judge the words of God is unjust.

How can God judge the world and again we hear this flawed logic for people sometimes is well and this is what about the people haven't heard what they're saying is there's a flaw in God's plan that other people haven't heard, and yet he's holding them responsible for knowing the truth to me that's kind of a painful discussion because if there's somebody on the face of this planet who haven't heard about Jesus Christ. Right now, today I got friend that has more to do with you not whether we supported church with a re-support mission. This church heavily engaged in missions because we want everybody to hear, but that that discussion is almost like well you there's a flaw in God's plan, not a flaw got there maybe a flaw in us acting out God's point there's not a flaw in his point was read on for seven for the truth of God has increased through my live to his glory, why am I also judge as a sinner continue. Verse eight. And why not say let us do evil that good may come look at this as we are slanderously reported in a some firm that we say, their condemnation is just it would be if we were saying these things than that would be bad see people were slandering Paul and going around saying what Paul is saying that some Paula saying that and in kinematic people used to do that. So glad they don't do it anymore, slandering men of God and pastors. I just can't imagine people doing some I told me they still do that you got 1130. Some of that is interesting.

Paul, great man of God. People run around in their mouth about so why should I be surprised. Why should you be surprised if that happens is just part people are always as a matter fact, Lino and I found the more effective.

God uses you. The more people will run around and run around Paul.

Here's communicating the problem is going to come up with the answer but he's he's kind of he's walking us through this thing and then misunderstand to because I got I need to balance us out as we we go through this. There are people that say what we're under grace and we are and therefore since were under grace.

There's no accountability there's no responsibility to do anything that the Bible really says to us because were under grace that is bad teaching.

There is the view is called antinomianism. The long, complicated work, but that basically means because a grace you can now do whatever you want to do Marconi and in other people. Second century on call this heresy.

It is heresy there is responsibility there is accountability the book of James points out that no because of that grace we now responsible and accountable to start doing the things that the word of God talks about week we need to begin to die to our old selves, not to our selfish ways not to our old life and begin to live the the Jesus is called split, we see that picture in the book and in the act of baptism and baptism you're symbolized you're going down with the death of Jesus in the water. That's the burial of Jesus Christ.

When you come back. That's the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And now you're going to live for him.to the old live for the new been called a watery grave you're dying to your old self and living for the Romans chapter 6 verse once is well, then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more kindness and forgiveness is not simply the sin. How can we continue to live in it. Romans 615. So, since God's grace and set us free from the law. Does this mean we can go on sinning. Of course not to work when grace happens. Now you're set free set free to do whatever you want to know. Set free to love God, love people. Your past is not part and so you're free to do that summary go well but I still struggle with sin need to me to why because the old nature just have to cling to its done it is just me. Now it's all about that old nature trust equates like you got a dead man clinging to your lagan you're trying to walk around got let go of me. I mean is, where visual, I guess, but that mean that really is what's going on and in the unit. Apparently the dead guy he can act like you live in, and he can look into what it looks like you just leave it.

Now he let them say that but what we do. Sometimes we get around. We start playing with our lives and they would remove his arms around and make it look like it a lot left the old way old nature and live in the newness of life.

You're listening to Pastor David McGee on cross the bridge will be back with more powerful insight from God's word in just a moment but first, God's grace and mercy is greater than any of us could ever fathom. Israel the Bible and you is our gift to thank you for your donation to help more people on this station and beyond cross the bridge from death to life. What then are we better than they not at all prove previously charge both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin. This is interesting personal listener sent in a system. The biblical system of grace and stand there is no place for spiritual pride. You cannot have spiritual pride on system built on grace became. If you have spiritual pride that God because Fran if you could earn your salvation if you can earn your forgiveness from you to change the face of plant and there was one person that can live a holy life, never messing up not only not doing what he should do. But in doing all that he should. You would a change face history what Jesus Christ would never came to this planet and Ada never died for you when you had to, but not so no way there was no way for us to get you could not earn your way to God because earn your way to God. How can you take a bow for it. After he so graciously gives you forgiveness, but I will well know know know nobody would do that all we do it all the time like this. What is a difference. But if you're sitting here this morning. You believe in Jesus you've asked him to forgive you of your sent. What is the difference between you and an unbeliever. Somebody that rejects Jesus rejects God is doing all sorts of horrible thing.

What's the real difference going to short simple prayer.

That's it. Not that you're a better person not the guy looked down and he saw that spark of innate human goodness and decided somehow you saving but the guy the girl you work with, and they're just not going to cut the mustard snow.

What happened to Paul is saying. Let's look at were all condemned were all condemned under the law. I want you to notice the pronounced verse not what then are we better than that, Paul's Jewish this is years after his conversion and he still considered himself Jewish Jewish Christian but he didn't feel like he needed to not consider himself a Jew to become a Christian.

Paul is trying to deal with the spiritual pride that had crept into the Jewish people. Now we can sit there and all their silly Jewish people are.

We can again less whispering in its first application you think we have any spiritual pride about being American, yet we do we do we have spiritual heritage. Praise God we have spiritual, but as time goes on in revisionist move us further and further from the spiritual heritage we get further and further from the source of the blessings that God is placed upon this land we need to be real careful in this area now policy and where all condemned were all under this pronouncement of guilt, the lifeless and no one can achieve forgiveness through the law. No one can achieve forgiveness through all we all stand condemned under the law. We all stand justly accused condemned and guilty and the only question left is, who's going to pay sent request your guilty friend and if somebody is rare, but occasionally you run across somebody that will try to have a discussion whether they're guilty or whether they've ever send just interesting discussion we occasionally run in the people that you know the sad thing is there usually church people that will? There is a group out there that believes that there Christian for very long that they get to the place where they don't send any but according to the Bible we all stand condemned.

Galatians 322 says what the Scriptures of the clear that we are all prisoners of sand, so the only way to receive God's promise is to believe in Jesus Christ again Christians better than non-Christians. It is because we just are so much better people that God is going to honor us by granting us access in the heaven and forgive. Now it's not. It's by his grace that strikes at the heart of religious pride in all of this all of us want to engage in spiritual, we do want because we want to feel like we done something earn our way into heaven, but God set up the system so beautiful so masterfully that don't work like that in his wisdom pages to a 90,000 BC. Yes, my great so you can post so you can brag about another's folks if you could earn your way in the heaven.

He knows you brag about. I know I will if I could earn my way to heaven. I would walk around in the state would be a bizarre form of witnessing what I walk around aware.

I got mine you got your you earned your way. All I can tell by looking at you, you don't have it yet, but we do a mild form and that no the difference between a believer and unbeliever all our eternal destiny is radically different but at the heart of it, that short simple prayer asking God to forgive us and give us his grace telling. We believe he died for us, asking him to give us the power to live for him. Imagine if you will. You're on a plane you've got a parachute the person beside you, does not have a parachute. The fact that you have a parachute doesn't make you better than the person beside you that doesn't have a parachute. What it means for the plane is going down. It means you are prepared for what's coming in your future person without the parachute is not prepared. That's a graphic difference. The reality is all of us are in a plane at some point this going down everybody will.the history of mankind. There was only one of the death. Nobody else will ever do that unless it's through, we begin to understand when we begin to understand the foot of the cross around is all left begins to change the way we think change the way we live and this is why Paul beautifully beautifully.

Romans chapter 1 deals with the unrighteous. But then he goes right in the chapter 2 and begins the deal with the self-righteous and then in chapter 3 begins the deal with those who are religiously self-righteous decision on your skill set doesn't matter what your heritages doesn't matter what you know what you don't know you're still set to because I started believe in that they were justified by what the now before you go, will their silly Jewish people met so many church people that do this. The two questions asked are you going to have but then you asked why do you believe that you get some interesting it one that I hear a lot is because I go to church great go to church, going to church doesn't make you probably heard the analogy but of going to church. Make sure Christian. I guess then going to Krispy Kreme make you don't and then you go to McDonald's now your big so you gotta really weird like going to church doesn't make you and help strengthen you as a Christian. Another when I hear what I believe I'm a Christian because I believe in God the right answer the right one book of James records that even the demons believe in God, or the ever classic. Most attentive man nobodies Most attentive, most people UPN. If you're sitting here think well only broke one or two you broken more than that.

Okay the mass request ever told some of the told one this morning when you wipe citizens look good so we even have that little white lies in lies that you can wear that remake of miracle 34 Street Gassett. What's better, a truth that brings a tear or a lie that brings a smile. How sinister is that I really have the truth that brings a tear so you lot was that make a good person. No mature liar you ever taken some. I was there. Yes, you have when we initially barred. That was a far piece of paper.

You forget that some of you have tools in your house is no longer that stealing wasn't making the person to make your thief you reuse God's name and appropriately blaspheme the name of God, it's your hand with a hammer said something should of said was that make you good person, shall blaspheme thou shall not commit adultery.

Some of you sooner go up never committed.

Jesus said if you look at somebody in your heart and lusted after you committed adultery. So was show. I know so how we doing on the 10 Commandments are formal.

So for your ally and even last female adult going to continue working.

We stopped there. I think we stopped there. See, this is a problem that Paul was deal with them. It's a problem we deal with now.

Jesus points out in John chapter 5 verse 45 is still not think that I shall accuse you to the father.

There is one who accuses you Moses and whom you trust for you believe Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me, but if you do not believe his writings. How will you believe my words you said your trust and think you manage your trust in legalism to get you the God to get you in the heaven to get to forget what happened that something Jesus was doing something. Paul is something we do now, is an expert or station. Everybody verse 10 will end with this as it is written, there is none righteous, no not one not want in this room right now. Not one person can be self-righteous. Not one person is righteous in and of themselves, not anybody who's listening those who are watching television news or listen to radio laser different parts of the building. Not one.

No person can say why I can earn my salvation. Not one person we need to remember that when God got a hold of all of us any of us. We were a mess because he can begin to think well past got her this to God's grace and his grace alone. Final life lesson here.

We are all sinners in desperate need of a Savior we are all sinners, desperate need of a Savior. See when you go to lunch or whatever you do after you leave here and maybe sit down in a restaurant and you look at somebody. Maybe that hasn't been the church. Maybe they look a little hung over the route late last night doing things I shouldn't. There's a tendency for us to look at that person goal they really need Jesus all they do dislike you know more, no less. Were all desperate for Jesus. We all need Jesus. This is what Paul is present in here and if you've ever gotten the idea.

Christians are better than you.

If you don't consider yourself a person in front of you don't think that's a truth you go ask people out in the world while they won't come to Jesus. This is a big barrier.

This is a big wall. They will because I can't be like them when he can't be like that can't hat like they do when he can't act like that but can't do the right things and say the right things like the they don't understand how desperate we are.

For Jesus, that's why the foot of the cross. The ground is all doesn't matter rich poor tall short where you were born, how old you are done. Matter will need Jesus. Doesn't matter if you've been mostly good all your life you never done drugs or drank or been thrown in jail. Heard people like that still need Jesus still need Jesus.

Maybe you have done those things and more awesome thing is one our Savior's favorite words, come love Jesus, then say you need to get things squared away, and you know for sure that your sins have been forgiven.

You can know right now own Legion.

A short simple prayer simply telling God you're sorry and asking him to help you to live for him. God wants you to pray this prayer so much that he died to give you the opportunity and the ability to ask him to forgive you.

Please pray this prayer with me out loud right now. Dear Jesus, I believe you died for me that I could be forgiven and I believe you were raised from the dead that I could have a new life not done wrong things I have sent and I'm sorry. Please forgive me of all those things.

Please give me the power to live for you. All of my days in Jesus name, amen friend of you prayed that prayer according to the Bible you've been forgiven you've been born again.

Jesus said he would not turn anybody away who comes to him and he came for those people who knew they needed forgiveness.
