Everything well yeah awesome it to God and I'll go with that in mind understand what he's doing, but then comes a time when we don't understand what is what happens. Something begins the server.

We can think. I would use it was going on. Well, we'll see was, like you don't really understand me but I really don't have cement your sorry friend is not based on a matter of your understanding based on the fact of what got us set welcome to cross the bridge with David McGee Senior Pastor of the bridge in Kernersville, North Carolina today.

Pastor David's teaching through second Samuel chapter 20 and we have as our guest of the studio, one of David McGee's associate pastors welcome DA hey Bob, excited about being here want to pray for a few cities in our listening audience, today in Arkansas. We have Fort Smith, Huntsville, Jonesboro para gold Paris Pine Bluff and in California we have Barstow Lord, thank you for the cities. We pray that many with tune in and listen to your word today.

God we pray for those who are sick and battling different ailments. We pray that you would please heal them for your glory God.

We pray that many will put their hope and trust in you for their salvation today we pray for revival in the cities. Everyone would get excited about following you lower pray for the churches and pastors in these areas that they would stick to your word look to what your word has to say make application of it and others will be drawn to that as well as a fall you in Jesus name, amen, amen Pastor. The ASP going to the teaching today and second Samuel chapter 20 toss about some of the life lessons we should be taking away Bob, it's important to trust and obey God even when we don't understand he has a good plan that surpasses our understanding and we can trust him.

He is trustworthy. Sometimes we think we know it all. That's the truth. That's why God's word illuminates to us that we don't know everything, but God knows all things.

We can trust him absolutely.

So let's listen as David McGee talks about that in today's teaching we been going for seconds and women looking at the life of David. We saw Damon get her all these things we saw him go through the rebellion of Absalom and then we saw some of the people in David's leadership and whatnot join with Absalom in the rebellion, but then we saw all that rebellion came enough and ended really.

Not only with the death of Absalom, but with the rest of Israel. Now Sam will will follow you, David. You indeed are King would close the last chapter, something got interesting.

These men had began to get upset with David because the tribe of Judah escorted David back to Jerusalem, they got upset because these other tribes said you know what we really wanted to be part of this escort party and we were really inviting this party and so they got upset so there became this division. Now we saw last chapter, closed with what we thought was the end of that division, but last week I mentioned that this was not the end of a division but a continuation of a division because when David first became king he was king of Judah for seven years before he was king known over all of Israel sometimes will read about the receipt. David was king of Judah and Israel clarifies this kind of a continuation of this division because for the seven years David was king over Judah, but he remember sons of Saul were trying to run the rest of Israel since a continuation if you will that division so that leads us into six annual chapter 20 verse one says, and there happened to be there. A rep whose name was Sheba, the son of McCurry, a Benjamite and he blew a trumpet and said we have no Sharon, David, nor do we have inheritance in the son of Jesse, every man to his tents. All Israel never in the King James you have, son of the Lyle anytime you see that her son of Delilah means a treacherous person, someone who doesn't deal uprightly. Somebody doesn't.

It is an honest person that something weird in their heart and let's remind ourselves a case is got Sheba stirring yet another rebellion against David Loeser Manor socialism who plays David in authority. God, not the people. They didn't have a vote.

They don't they didn't do anything like you have a Democratic and Republican primary and general election.

Nothing like that God ordained in called David into authority so let's clarify when Sheba is rebelling against David Lizzie really rebelling against is really rebelling against God allows important for us to understand because the Bible tells us in the book of Romans and other places that all authority that's in place is placed there by God.

Now I didn't say that all authority is godly authority sometimes is where we get the RRR if that's true. I know this person is ungodly leader.

What about that person. What about this, but I didn't say every leader everybody in authority was godly, so they been placed there by God. Certainly when you look at in terms of end times event after understand something at some point there is leadership is going to come into the United States does not represent godly values to represent secular humanism will also probably begin to distance ourselves think prophetically from the nation of Israel.

But let's remember, one may God is the one who places people and if he places someone like that authority.

What that means is that timetable just got when you understand Tom's events fancy word is eschatology, and in times event. You understand that at some point very evil person is put in authority that we've come to know as a person. The antichrist obviously not a godly person or being placed in authority by God.

So we need to understand that because I wanted them to think well I'll obey somebody as long as there godly some of the Bible says. The Bible says he's placed authority in place and we have to respect authority. It's interesting, were you looking in the book of act right now we see that, of all people. The Roman government is being used to protect all from the people who assaulted so we see God using that God-given authority structure in that now this man Sheba was his decision to make. Who was going to be king. No one, and here's what we see we see every time every time you see rebellion in the Bible you see people get free time we saw in the rebellion of Absalom within the rebellion of Sheba. You see, and rebellion in and in life. And certainly when we choose when we decide to be rebellious were the ones that usually bear the brunt and the pain of that when Sheba says every man to his tents what he's saying is he's really he's dismissing the Army he saying everybody just go home were not served.

David were not to be under his authority and that sort of thing. This is interesting to me because here you see Israel coming out of Civil War coming out of a reunification.

It's a neat time, but the first thing that this guy Sheba and his whoever follows in these rebels. First thing that happens is there is there no longer part of what's going on as he says go everybody go to your there no longer part of the good stuff that's going on and sing that like pressing people that in order to take part of some rebellion there no longer part of the good things are part of what God is really doing. They step back from that want to rebel against God and rebel against authority or to join with whoever's doing assured by an Sheba is he's playing he's trying to play this division that we see in the last chapter last few verses of the last chapter, she was trying to play that. But the tribe of Judah escorting David back was reversed to sue every man of Israel deserted David and followed Sheba the son of the Creek, but the men of Judah from the Jordan. As far as Jerusalem remained loyal to their king is a disturbing verse is an amazing phrase to consider every minute of Israel deserted David C. This is a general statement wasn't literally every man but a lot of people were deserting David and here's David Hughes led the nation to these incredible victories. David, who fought Goliath in one David, who Saul try to kill for years and years and he survived that David, who withstood the rebellion of Absalom and he still came in yet even after all that these people rebelled deserted him have to pause and think what, what's David thinking at this point is been through this Absalom thing he lost a son in her banishment. This is been through that he given his life to the nation but I think there is an understanding us to remember that there had been a prophecy over David that the sword would not depart from his house because of something is and so there's kind of an understanding and with David through all this you know whatever happens, God's been merciful because I'm not getting all that I deserve what he deserved well to the things in the wrong they really deserve to die what personal application might that have with us according to the Bible.

People who said are worthy of condemnation are worthy of death. That's what will I get really concerned when somebody ever says to me you know I just want what I deserve and I think no no no no no no, you don't want what you don't want what I deserve I want mercy I will grace I don't want what I deserve because I deserve death of John, so anything this lasts the death and judgment.

I'm experiencing immersive sunlight because sometimes we go through life and bad things happen, we think, how can this man thing happened to me.

I'm a good person. The Bible says there are no good people. This is there is none righteous know not what all of us are falling short of the glory of God. Romans chapter 3 verse 10 Romans chapter 3 verse 23 and also says that our righteousness is as racks, filthy racks, that's our righteousness will we claim to be good people you know our assumptions of it is completely faulty and sometimes we will will wonder why bad things happen to good people. Let me help you.

This there are no good people. The wonder isn't why bad things happen to good people.

The wonder of it all is why good things happen to bad people.

Why does God bless. Why does God want to give us peace and joy, love, wiseguy want to give us forgiveness. We really don't deserve and haven't earned just a question and I think within these problems because you never see David Gold, God, what are you doing this you never seen why is there was a deep understanding that bad things happen.

Well it kind of earned we should have that same sort of understanding it puzzles me the way they turned against David yet again. But let's understand the human heart is a very perplexing thing we cannot understand. I went about the human heart of the physical, human or I'm talking about the heart is the seat of emotion, our emotions are just their physical your emotions will lie to you. Your emotions a lot to remember what you were in high school or college or doing whatever almost every nine years In Their Life That They Just Knew the One Maybe Even Told You. That's the One That's the One, and Ended up That Wasn't the One Now. Maybe Years Later You're Raising That Wasn't the One. But Your Emotions Deceived You Once Important, Especially for People Following Jesus Not to Follow Their Emotions, Because I Think These People Were Following Emotions and Have in the Bible That the Heart Is the Sickly Wicked Who Can Know That. Who Can Know the Heart the Aunt Hears Only God Knows Only God Knows, I Think. Also, David Reminded That He Were Just Passing through.

Now here's Pastor David as he continue showing verse by verse verse three that came to his house in Jerusalem, and the king took the 10 women, his concubines only left to keep the house and put them in seclusion and supporting them, but did not go into them so they were shot out to the day of their death. Living in widowhood. These are the women the concubines of David that Absalom had violated. David had left them in Jerusalem when he left Jerusalem and Absalom had come in and publicly from the city had violated these women, and so David put some away because they've been taken advantage of, or whatever he still he still takes care of the stuff he doesn't want more women.

I gotta be real careful. He's actually wanting less women in his life, which I don't know.

Anyway, move along. Verse four quickly and the king said to assemble the men of Judah for me. Within three days in the present here yourself, had joined in the rebellion with Absalom and after the rebellion is an act of grace and mercy. David had put him in charge of his troops said they may give him directions are very clear. Assemble the men of Judah for me. Within three days and be present here yourself very clearly understand response, so Mohsen went to some of the men of Judah, but he delayed longer than the set time which David had appointed. Here we see something and it's important that we understand the details. David gave Thomas something he said go gather the men and come back here in three days. It's not hard to see are not hard understand that the reason David and that is because there was a time element involved with this rebellion, and so David saying you know what we need to move quickly but doesn't really listen to David first glance, it would see him in years been there when they would set a month ago.

Do this and he left he think okay he's going to do what he said he DE's positive, but what it did not do it and come back when it was first, they were told to do some heat and why.

Well I guess I must've put it off for whatever reason, for some reason he decided he was knocking to be obedient to king to the King David. It was not to be obedient to what David told again.

Who put David authority in the sand.

Sometimes we get things laid on our heart.

God asked us to do something that still small Intervoice rises up in us and we know that were supposed to do something and quite frequently, there is kind of an open-door timeframe is going to do this, there's an open door, and we don't walk through that open door that opportunities law think a lot of times we wait too long.

I know we talked about waiting on the Lord. That certainly is a scriptural sound principle. But I think a lot of times God is waiting on rather than us waiting on the Lord God says do this. Maybe one day I'll do that, you know that's really it's really passive rebellion got a soldier to do something like the Nike commercials that just do it. Just do it. Don't make excuses or okay one year. One day I edited it often we put off something that we know were supposed to do and there's cost in delaying to do something that we know we should, on the rare occasion God may lay something on the heart is okay this is what I want to do, but not yet.

That's the rare occasion when times God says a similar heart and we wait we wait we wait we wait and you know, if you wait long enough, the opportunity will be gone. That door will close and you will have missed out on a good opportunity got open to it will happen were in a sea that happens with a muscle verse six and David said to Abba shy now Shema, the center victory will do us more harm than Absalom take your Lord's servants and pursue him. Leslie find for himself for five days and escape us.

This tells the importance of the timeframe that perhaps a method and understand but David did.

David understood that this could be more deadly than the Absalom rebellion and that's why time in this timeframe, and so they get into this rebellion, which would been less but notice something David's whole life.

He had the heart of a warrior. Now he knew when not to be a warrior and there was a times knowing when he was standing over Saul could've taken Saul out, but he knew you know lustrous to be a warrior. He knew when not to be a warrior look at this. He's got remain on top of rebellion and look at the last few verse that few words in verse six Leslie find for himself, fortified cities and escape us this very different.

David isn't leaving Jerusalem going God. If you want my kingship and you want to actually king. Okay, I'm outta here because David thought Absalom, my ego whispers to be moved, asking visual and step back and allow the will of the Lord to be worked out.

He knew she was not. So he moved forward rather and say hey let's try this again and protect ourselves decision on pursue.

This can make sure you skate part of warrior off were seven suggestions met with Sheriff Seitz and the pillow fights and all the mighty men went out after him and they went out of Jerusalem to pursue Sheba, the son notice all the mighty men. These were men who'd been with David for a long time. These were men who had been with them through Saul chase around the country trying to kill David admin through David through the whole Bathsheba and Uriah thing had been with David through the Absalom moments in these men they had something that is a rare and valuable word these days had loyalty to King David. They never question David they never undermine David. They never rebelled against David they never open their mouth against. They were always extremely loyal which is a rare thing these days, and they followed David and so any moment of any troubled until he could count on these mighty men is an awesome thing anyone singly. We all need to find those people in our lives and we need to cultivate those relationships. Because there are people who are trustworthy and they are people who are loyal and there's also people who talk about it who are developed as relationships because these mighty men. They knew David love them and David knew the mighty men loved him.

Verse eight when they were at the large stone which is in Gibby Anna Masa came before them scheduled was dressed in battle armor known it was a belt with a sword fashioned in its sheath at his hips and knees.

He was going for to fill out.

Then Jewett said Thomas are you and help my brother Jewett took Thomas about the beard with his right hand the kissing.

This was a form of greeting.

Masa did not notice the sword that was in Joab's hand and he struck him with it in the stomach and his and Charles poured out on the ground and he did not strike him again.

Leslie died the enjoyment Abba shy's brother pursued Sheba the center victory.

Now what it sounds like to me. I think what happened was as enjoyable was approaching a Masa. He intentionally dropped his sword and when and when he dropped his sword.

He bent over to pick it up as he was great and Thomas really didn't think Hg he's greeted me with a sword in his hand and then Joab who very much a warrior and at times knees a little treacherous kills a Masa with the sword. Keep in mind something David had not asked Joab to kill a Masa in my factors verse later on will get too much later on that David didn't think that was the thing to do but obviously Joab felt strongly about it is the killer Masa when you read and study about things.

A real clear in this situation.

I'm not sure how rebellious a Masa was bit I received was rebellious and effort. When David said come back in three days. He didn't come back in three days, which you can have a general doesn't listen to the king, it doesn't work like that. Jesus later on. The New Testament is how a house divided against itself can stand that's what's important for people in leadership even when they disagree that they agree to disagree. Got men in my life here at the church. I think Holly up they can come to music as I don't think we should be doing is I don't think we should be doing, but they come to me they don't come anybody and at the end of Satan and are understand your concern. Understand your point, but this is the way the were doing okay and I will help you accomplish that to the best of my bill.

Masa wasn't doing this relationship was destined to fail. While Masa was not in submission to David how rebellious we don't know that it could have been as bad as he was running off to Beersheba, it could've been that bad.

We don't Joab obviously is taking exception with what's going on but here's what I wonder David had a reason for saying into a Masa Masa you have to be back here in three days.

I want you to go gather the people I want you back here in three days. Masa says okay I'll go gather the people, but as far as being back there would be back in three to God major. He's not taking David seriously, why because I don't think you must understand the importance of the time for the understand the importance of healing came out right but he didn't understand, and so he thought was, since I don't understand and follow me.

Follow me, since I don't understand. I don't really happen that see that's were real submission is either discovered or lost. See what two people agree on something, there's no issue submission is just agreement but when somebody doesn't understand something or they disagree with it.

You find out if there really is a submission to the God-given authority there's true submission doesn't matter. They understand doesn't matter if they agree with God-given authority and submission to God and his word.

We think well yeah I'll submit to God, and I'll go with that in understand what he's doing, but then comes a time when we don't understand what is and what happens, something begins. The external hard think I would. You don't know what you see was going on. Well, we'll see was, like you don't really understand me that I really don't have cement here.

Sorry.

That's what happens.

David had his reasons for saying three-day understand and agree to anything he disobeys any experiences pain and death is not based on a matter of your understanding is based on the fact of what God is, and at times God will tell us to do things that we don't understand, but we still have to be in submission to friend you know for sure that your sins have been forgiven.

You can know right now only Jenna short, simple prayer simply telling God you're sorry and asking him to help you to live for him.
