It's in this time when you don't agree what God is doing in your life that you really figure out if he's got over and donate please. Omens are sent. If you asked Jesus to forgive you of your sins, he is your Savior, but in a daily since you're sorting through other heater will and is he gives you certain circumstances and situation the way you handle and tells a lot about your attitude submitting to God, welcome to cross the bridge with David McGee, the senior pastor of the bridge in Kernersville, North Carolina today we have Neil in the studio who was one of David McGee's assisting pastors welcome brother. Well Bob, thanks for allow me to be here again today.

Here's the deal. This is been a tough chapter with some heavy truths but one for our spiritual growth. Even today to continue that Pastor David talks about accepting the will of God whether we agree with it or not, sometimes is difficult to ascertain whether or not it's us rejecting our own will, onto God forgot actually speaking to us in this agreement with you and so we want to be people of God's word.

We want to be led by spirit and we want to seek counsel. That's what pastor they shared about let's listen as David McGee shares first by first finishing up second Samuel chapter 15 this chapter. Continuing with the tension that is between Absalom and David and suspecting the tension might've started way back when, with Bathsheba and certainly continued as Amnon raped tomorrow, tomorrow being Absalom's sister, Absalom then feel like David really took appropriate action, and so Absalom planned for couple years and then kill Amnon and then ran off for a few years and then cannot work his way back in. Not sure we talked about last week measure was really time for restoration of Absalom even had yet gotten the heart needed for restoration, but you know they were kind of thrown back into it. So there's a lot of stuff that we learned last week and when we can see you know in that theory that I talked about last week that the restoration came too quickly and it also came without the fruit needed for restoration.

We see Absalom back in the kingdom, and an easement given a place in the Kings court to look and see what he does with that opportunity because it tells a lot friend what you or someone else does, with the opportunities that that are presented to the everybody in this life in this world they get opportunities. What you make of those opportunities determines the fruit of your Christian life to a large degree. So here we are. Second Samuel chapter 15 verse one after this it happened in all that I just said after this it happened in Absalom provided himself with chariots and horses and 50 men the run before now, Absalom would rise early and stand beside the weight of the gate so it was whenever anyone who had a lawsuit came looking for decision that Absalom would call to him and say what city are you from many would say your sermon is from such and such a tribe of Israel.

Verse three and in Absalom would say to look your case is good and right. There is no deputy of the King to hear you. Moreover, Absalom would say all that were made judge in the land and everyone who has any suit or calls would come to me, then I would give them just so it was whenever anyone came near to bow down to them that he would put out his hand and take him and kissing verse six in this manner, Absalom acted toward all Israel came to the king for judgment, so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel now came to pass after 40 years, Absalom said to the king. Please let me go to have chronic pain, about which I made to the Lord. Verse eight, for your servant took a bow while I dwell assurance area saying in the Lord indeed brings me back to Jerusalem, then I will serve the Lord. The king said to him, go in peace, so he arose and went first and then Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel sent as soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet than usual say Absalom rains and have with Absalom went 200 men invited from Jerusalem look at this and they went along innocently and did not know anything then Absalom sent for official the Guillen I David's counselor from his city from God love Wally offered sacrifices in the conspiracy grew strong for the people with Absalom continually increased in number now messenger came to Davidson in the hearts of the men of Israel are with Absalom today.

Vincent said all his servants who were with him in Jerusalem arise and let us flee or we shall escape from Absalom may case to the part lest he ever take a suddenly and bring disaster upon us and strike the city with the edge of the sword and the king servant said to the king. We are your servants ready to do whatever my lord the king command for 16 then the king went out with all his household after him, but the king left 10 women concubines to keep the house and the king went out with all the people after him and stopped at the ouster then all his servants passed before and all acaricides and all the Palatines know they get tight 600 men who would follow him from getting past before the king and then the king said to Tyler get tight. Why are you also gone when this return and remain with the king, for you are a foreigner and also in exile from your own place. In fact, you came only yesterday. Should I make you wander up and down with us today. Since I go I know not where return and take your brothers back. Mercy and truth be with you but it's I answer the king and set as the Lord lives in is my lord the king lives. Surely, in whatever place my lord the king shall be whether death or life even there.

Also, your servant will be personally two to Davidson the anti-going crossover, then anti-the get tight and all his men all at once with and crossed over in all the country, wept with a loud voice and all the people crossed over the king himself also crossed over the brook Kidron, and all the people crossed over towards the way of the wilderness verse 24. There was a dock also in all the Levites, whether bearing the ark of the covenant of God, and they sent down the ark of God. Then BFR went up into all the people would finish crossing over from the city.

This is interesting because there's some prophetic significance to the things you're saying will read a couple verses you can review back. Verse 25. Then the king said, is a dock carrying the ark of God back into the city. If I find favor in the eyes of the Lord. He will bring me back and show me both. It and his dwelling place. But if he says thus I have no delight in you, here I am and let him do to me as seems good to him. He see the heart of David. Whatever happens, I'm okay ever hear somebody say I want what I deserve no you don't. Seriously, don't ever say that you understand biblically what you deserve is hell. Death punishment eternally.

So be careful about saying what I want what I deserve. I don't will what I deserve. I will grace and mercy. So when something occasionally bad happens is it that we get so offended when really in those moments. Maybe I should just be personally in those moments I was getting what I deserve. Probably not even I probably get a portion of what others are when bad things happen. I don't know.

I'm surprised about things happened should be surprising that the because it shows the grace and mercy of God in this part of David is just so revealing and so convicting because he's keen this isn't like you know his car broke down. This is just like he lost his job or maybe got demoted or something like that.

This is the king of Israel, and he saying you know what he's basically if you will casting his crown before God saying you want whatever you if you don't want me to put it back on. I will put it back on and I think this is part of why God calls David a man after his own heart. Verse 27 the king also said as a dock. The beast or the priest you not to see a return to the city in peace and your two sons with the aim him as much of an son, and Jonathan, the son of Abby afar Seattle weight in the plains of the wilderness until word comes from me from you to inform me. Therefore say I can. Abby afar carried the ark of God back to Jerusalem and they remained there was a lot of things.

It just shouldn't be doing that if he was thinking and and a military strategy sort of way. Verse 32.

David went up by the assent of the Mount of olives and wept as he went on and he had his head covered with barefoot and all the people who are with them cover their heads and went up weeping as they went on sky interesting and it doesn't even allow me to get the fullness of this but notice it talks about David in his betrayal, crossing over the brook Kidron walking up the Mount of olives and at the foot of the Mount of olives is the garden of Gethsemane and he weeps over the city. Years later, were told in the gospel. Jesus in his hour betrayal crossed over the book could draw walked up the Mount of olives was in the garden of Gethsemane and it was there that Judas betrayed him with a kiss. Even though waterways is is a picture of Jesus, and you see ahead. The fellow is kind of a picture of Judas and David weeps over the city that does he weep over Absalom are. Maybe that was part of it, but it was for the people he knew people were to get her only friend.

And here's a reality. The unison everybody here is going to face betrayal. Your you're going to face. If you think you can go through your life with nobody ever betraying you.

I'm sorry wrong is going to happen.

And in that moment you'll have a decision to follow God do it God's way and figure how to do it your way. Verse 31 then someone told David saying that the fellas among the conspirators with Absalom and David said, oh Lord, I pray turn the Council of the hiss of Phil and foolishness. David knew that if the fell represented a serious danger on the side of Absalom.

What will the verse we read before but the Council about the film was like the oracles of God this man in the fellow heard from God and now David has to hear that his number one counselor is on the other side didn't pray for God to strike Absalom be done. Pray for God to strike hit the fellow is accepting the will of God. Know this is life lesson we should accept the will of God whether we agree with it or not we should accept the will of God whether we agree with it or not you're listening to Pastor David McGee on crossed the bridge will be back with more in just a moment but first, if you haven't been to our website@crossedthebridge.com yet what are you waiting for go to cross the bridge.com to learn more about how listeners like you are helping get the life-changing truth of God's word to more people to the radio, Internet and mobile technologies across the bridge.com you can also check out our broadcast schedule. Now here's Pastor David as he continues showing verse by verse. It's in those times when you don't agree what God is doing in your life that you really figure out if he's God or not.

All friend donate please. Omens are sent. If you asked Jesus to forgive you of your sins, he is your Savior, but in a daily center sorting through other heater Lord, and as he gives you certain circumstances and situations the way you handle them tells a lot about your attitude toward submitting to God whatever authority structures are God, you know he's these designed us to carry way any a lot of times when the trucks drive numbers like why God doesn't know that when when God has set back into check this out. This truck is going to be able to drive across them and learn to live and be okay and the truck goes over with but we live, the huge truck driving over the life of David. David knew that he knew the ark was first arrested in Jerusalem and yet there's this there's this he's with the will of God unfolding that I think man if we could grab this of each person here could grab this in your life be different. It would be different because you wouldn't get freaked out every time something happened while you say okay will God's doing, so I don't I don't know what he's doing what he's doing some and you would be okay with it. Acts chapter 5, verse 38 gamma Leo's talking to the people about the disciples buddies that these wives were ceases not say do you keep away from these men talk about the disciples Jewish leadership to get and let them alone for this plan are this work is of men will come to nothing but images of God. You cannot overthrow it, lest you even be found to fight against God's words gamma Leo's the one who trained up all can we grab this. Can we walk in life. In this since I got no matter what you're doing in my life, I will be okay with it easy for that and aunt crawls over my bridge and the weight doesn't trust me the if you see fit to drive an 18 wheeler or you know that I triple trailer over me.

That's okay, it's a big thing happened. Now who is this at the fellow David's talking and he says it's as if he hears from the oracles of God from God himself. This man is so wise in his wisdom and David says all Lord please bring his counsel foolishness which it was a good model whenever you're betrayed Woody Dupree for they would that he prayed so who is the fell this wise man.

Here's another cunning question if he's Damon's counselor.

Why was he a Gallo where Absalom sent for why was he no longer in Jerusalem. Why was he in Gallo troubling questions and if he such a wise man wanted to join the rebellion. Tune in next week while I've said before that in all the genealogies there's always something in their and I know some of the genealogies you read them you get the gap against the But in every listing of every genealogy. There's something in there for us to grasp in the city was a couple genealogies and second one on the second Samuel just using one verse at every second Sandra chapter 23 verse 33 it says hello La Follette, the son of a house by the son of make the type and if this is a listing and it says easily, the son of the fell the gala night so we know that's a hit the fell. He's it settings from Gallo by Gail Guillen. I and he had a son named helium going okay. We had some Sunday kneeling okay what's I got to do anything well and a totally different genealogy in the same book of second Samuel second Samuel chapter 11 verse three it says about that she misses her. Davidson inquired about the woman and someone said is is not Bathsheba, the daughter of helium, the wife of Uriah the Hittite is the fell had a son named helium helium had a daughter named Bathsheba if the fell was the grandfather of Bathsheba.

Now we have some answers will fill doing Gallo 11 Jerusalem, why did he leave Jerusalem, I think one word hit the palace that David had Uriah killed his granddaughters, husband and took Bathsheba to be his wife. That relationship truck and hit the fell so you know I am no longer going to be your friend going up to the temple with you, David. I'm leaving when the opportunity came for rebellion against David hit the fell gladly joined Absalom why because in his heart for years he'd been waiting for this opportunity and finally okay let me ask you question in a hit. The fell's bitterness and unforgiveness.

I wonder what kind of man he had become 00 will see in the unfolding chapters. What kind of man he had become and where he ends up. But along the way friend has the fell had choices granted I'm not a grandfather but it must've been difficult for him. The fell to watch this unfold and his friend David who would eat offered cement counsel. He knew David was heartbroken but he would not forgive Dave he had the choice, but he left everybody in here has the choice of forgiven some and you can hold in your heart, bitterness, friend, you might wind up like a you can forgive and be a David Seville joined the rebellion to get back at David and I can guarantee it. Absalom played that up when he spoke with it probably said hey you know what is the fell book. You know, I know you really wounded about Bathsheba and I just wonder I agree with you as I was keying and I would be okay with me. The fact that I think I should be king.

Want to join with me friend understand that this is you become so vulnerable when you have an offense that you're carrying it around and I love that the same pickup in an offense because that's what we do weekly pick it up and we carried around. This is my fence.

I got offended because some I didn't say the right thing. The mayor, some I didn't speak to me some I didn't speak to me the way I thought they should make this a refund on the curious rent and if somebody wants to manipulate you, friend. All I gotta do is walk up and touch the old oh are welcome to all you poor thing you care around a bottle curable bad thing with the big bad things to me and you still curious rent and what this enables anybody that has any wisdom to do. You are so easily manipulated when you're offended by. You can't walk around like but see, once you pick it up.

You just carried around it goes with you everywhere you go. Your offense follow you everywhere you go and I can almost guarantee everybody in here has an offense their care around with them. I almost promise you, sweetie, sit it down let it go. I don't want to spoil the surprise. With some of you've already read ahead. Some of you already know.

Second Samuel Fells will take his own life, possess the fruit of bitterness and unforgiveness and Karen around offenses that if you carry them around long enough friend in Acadia in more ways than one. This is interesting. Verse 32. Notice 31. David prays that the Council of Hesse fell will be turned in the foolishness in verse 32 God answers the prayer happened when David come to the top of the mountain where he worship God. There was how shy they are type coming to meet him with his robe torn and dust on his head. This man will be used to turn the Council of the fell and the foolish got into the prayer like that God always answers prayer like that note, I wish he did but is not always. I sometimes it isn't in though some layout may not prayed for this and got into the prayer that sometimes he waits a little bit developed survey but sometimes he does answer right away. In this case. Answers on site 33.

David send them. If you go on with me then you will become a burden to me. But if you return to the city and state Absalom, I will be your servant oh king as I was your father's servant previously so I will now also be your servant, then you may defeat the Council of the fell for me when Dave is leaving town. He's not doing this, she's not doing that now he send in this got back in the town. The kind of spine undermine Absalom, why is he doing.

I believe he felt led by God and you know there's a time to pray and there's a time to do something.

A lot of times we don't work with we go do some and we had pray and sometimes are pray and when God's okay you know you can just all your life.

Pray for God to say people and never go out telling by by Jesus or by you, pray for people to get saved in your an active participant with that and you do things to as the Lord is leading you. Verse 35 as is and do you not have Zaida I can get there. The priest with you there, therefore, will be the one you hear from the king's house, you shall tell as they knock it out with are the priest in the they have there with them their two sons. They knock son and Jonathan and with our son and by then you shall send me everything you hear.

So how shy Damon's friend went to the sitting Absalom came in to Jerusalem and the plot thickens.

But that's where the chapter and so that's where will in for the evening so these three men will be the house and the years of Dave and Jerusalem.

We see several people in this chapter and I think we can and then the file to certain agree with all of we can identify with David because we've been betrayed before we can identify with Absalom occasional at some point we wanted power that wasn't ours. We want to control it wasn't ours. We can identify with the Hesse fell because somewhere somebody has done something wrong send against us and we carried out around maybe you identify with time.

The guy who said to David's you know what is God lives in you live on with care would have an amazing commitment. May we all have such a commitment to God to one another to bring up something via Hesse fell thing because hidden in those Scriptures we see the calls of the fell and why he ended up in such a bad place and I think the way that we identify with that as we realize that in some way and someplace we've been offended by someone were still carried out around Frank when you do that that causes a weakness in you and our enemy is smart enough that if there's a door into our heart door into our mind easily use it. Here's the thing he Karen around this offense, you happens you got this offense and all you know you're worshiping God. Maybe your eyes are closed. Maybe your hands are raised worshiping God and you open your you remember that offense. Maybe the person offended use in this room and you notice them when you're worshiping God.

Maybe their own states regular part of the worshiping. Maybe it's me carried around anymore. Yeah, I probably offended everybody every person in this room at one another.

Hopefully it's been for good purpose with good reason. Never intentionally offended anybody actually heard him no cure around chosen in my life, not to cure these offenses around, you know why because it be like a knapsack full of raw every rock you put in there. Wait you down more and pretty soon you can't even walk the walk like you got this knapsack 50 pounds of rocks and and you're wondering why you're struggling in your Christian life you need to quit being a rock collecting rewind friend you wind up like a bitter unforgiving waiting for the chance to cause division pain and rebellion friend you know for sure that your sins have been forgiven. You can know right now own Legion. A short simple prayer simply telling God you're sorry and asking him to help you to live for him. God wants you to pray this prayer so much that he died to give you the opportunity and the ability to ask him to forgive you.

Please pray this prayer with me out loud right now. Dear Jesus, I believe you died for me that I could be forgiven and I believe you were raised from the dead that I could have a new life not done wrong things I have sent and I'm sorry. Please forgive me of all those things.

Please give me the power to live for you. All of my days in Jesus name, amen it friend of you prayed that prayer according to the Bible you've been forgiven you've been born again.
