What do you think Ziva is thinking at this point is blown away. He's looking at David whose exercises such grace and mercy and kindness before somebody that is no threat to him for some money that has been part of the enemies if you will, against David and Ziva soaking it in theaters people to watch us.

They watch how we treat people who are mean to us. And maybe there watch and try to figure out what we say we believe we think is really welcome to cross the bridge with David McGee, the senior pastor of the bridge in Kernersville, North Carolina.

Today we have one of these assisting pastors with welcome to the program you vibrate to be with you today and we get to continue talking about intentional acts of love but now get to talk about how being kind of people going love is actually offering to awesomeness its outcome to his pastor over and over three things. Love God, love people nice that's right right way to live Right here shows example of how King David is right, assured us, so let's listen in as the teaching first by first and second Samuel chapter 9. Currently, the second Samuel chapter 9 that were in the life of David and I learned a lot about only about David but also about us and our relationship with the Lord because there's a lot of lessons in the life of David that we can apply to our lives personally. Presently today, so when second Samuel chapter 9 verse one. David said, is there still anyone who is left in the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake. There was a servant of the house of Saul, whose name was Simon.

So when they had called him the David, the king said to him, are you Ziva he said at your service, then the king said, is there not still someone of the house of Saul, to whom may I may show the kindness of God is even said to the king there still a son of Jonathan who is lame in his feet. Verse four so the king said to him, where is he Ziva said to the king.

Indeed, he is in the house of my care center Vania and load the bar to get off the list too much, but load means a place with no pastor.

This man was hot now from David thinking that David was going to kill you. Remember the video we watched videos. Psalm 23 backwards or actually think I read it and attempt Psalm 23 the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. And it turned it around and turn around to such minutes and you know I don't have a shepherd and I'm always in need, describes the world shepherd like you and I do in following Jesus, the deepest desires of their heart. The deepest needs to be forgiven.

The walking relationship with the Lord to worship God. They don't have. Think about that. Everybody's fighting battles. You don't know about respondent King David sent, and brought them out of the house in the care of the son of Emile load the bar now when my favorite chef, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul had come to David, he fell on his face, and prostrate frustrated himself and then David said for the show and he answered, here's your server why you need to understand something to shift. She say that to widen with membership fall on his face like that because he fully expected to be executed. That's why he thought he had been brought. I'm sure this guy Ziva probably told him hey David wants to be good to you and yeah right good to me and so he fell in the court of the king, he fell on his face when I think in the way that David said his name. The finish, and he said here's your servant now. I think sometimes we approach God just like this. We think well come to God he's going to kill me because of what I've done for years. Be honest with Iran. From what I term the big stick. God, here's what I mean by that that I had wander off from God it and I thought when I first came back to God. The first two issues of business would be God rubbing my nose in it and God given me a beating like the which I've never experienced and I was running from that I want that was running from the big stick. God, little did I know I was already taken.

The beating of being separated from God. God wanted to welcome me back into relationship with him just like the prodigal son's father did. What a beautiful story, you notice a product. The father, the prodigal son Dennis. I will look at you now ye you blew all the money you stupider not thought you were down the beach is at what he said now he ran out there said he saw when he was still a long ways off. That means he was looking he was waiting, he was sitting at the window waiting for him to return and when he saw his heart leapt with joy. There's part of me still looks a God like that. There are, you still looks a godlike why I don't know what was probably bad teaching for teaching no teaching or just a misconception of who God is, why is it we avoided when we mess up when he's the very one. We need to be run into when we must chef was laying we know that second Samuel chapter 4, tells a little bit about the storage unit turned back there turned back there. Second Samuel chapter 4 verse four. This is Jonathan, Saul's son had a son who was lame in his feet. He was five years old when the news about Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel and is nourished to came up and fled. And it happened that she made haste to flee that he fell and became Lane. His name was for mission can imagine what that was like he was lying.

He could walk and this is in the harsh world if you will love the Middle East's man must've known a lot of pain for seven to David said to him, do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan. Your father sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather and you shall eat bread at my table continually continually can tenderly announce interesting this Hebrew word is tall need. It's been used before now. From Genesis, the second Samuel has been used 35 times already in the Bob every time before now that it was used it was used in an act of worship to God, the words they offered the fire before the Lord continually.

They offered the shewbread before the Lord continually.

Why do I bring that up because this active David torch with membership was an act of worship is on the God he was doing it for God it was offering to the Lord next life lesson, we are kind of people. As an offering to the Lord. We are kind to people as an offering to the Lord if you're being nice to somebody so that they're going to be nice back your mission. What Jesus said. Jesus said a lot of them that hate you, pray for them despitefully use you, you're just being nice to soften somebody up so then you can maybe win them to the Lord.

That's not the point.

Hopefully that will happen but you might not be the one to win them to the Lord. You might not even get to share with them, but maybe you soften them.

Keep your finger here in seconds and Western Matthew 25. Looking at verse 31. We really need to break down and understand there's emotional things. There is mental things. For some, there's even physical things that trigger and you think of when you think of your enemies make some of your still walking around with wounds in your body from some of these and Matthew chapter 25 verse 37, 31 says when the sum of man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with and then he will sit on the throne of his glory, and all the nations will be gathered before many will separate them one from another as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats yet so different from sheep and goat sheep follow goats, but I want to jot that down to refiners up against people like your goat, sheep out.

Verse 33 and he will set the sheep on his right hand and the goats on the left, then the King will say to those on his right hand, you blessed of my father, inherit the kingdom repair free from the foundation of the world's hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink on a stranger and you took me in. I was now can you close me. I was sick and you visited me was in prison and you came to me than the righteous will answer and said, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink.

When we see you a stranger and take you in her neck, enclosing when we see you sick or in prison and company. The King will answer and say to them. Assuredly, I say to you is much as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me. Then he will also say to those on the left the park for me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels notice the everlasting fire hell is not for people everlasting fire. Look at this for was prepared for the devil and his angels, God never intended for people to go there. People make the choice to go there for 42 for I was hungry and you gave me no food was thirsty and you gave me no drink. I was a stranger and you did not take me in neck and you did not clothe me second in prison unit not listening and they also will look when did we see you hungry or thirsty or stranger neck or sick or in prison did not minister to you, many will say to them, and he will answer them, saying, assuredly, I say to you, and is much as you did not do it.

One of the least of these, you did not do it to me and these will go away in the everlasting punishment the righteous into eternal life. So does that mean it were nice to people. We get to go to heaven.

That's not what that's not what Jesus is saying that there is a line that people who are loving other people are the people to know when you understand the grace of God. You want to love people want such love and grace is been shown to you. Back to second Samuel, let me remind you one of the verse where you're turning back there. Hebrews 13 to just don't forget to show hospitality to strangers for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing look at the picture got there's people in your life that if you're mean to. According to this passage being mean the Jesus you might be me and mean to an angel. Surely some of us might be so fed up with somebody that we want to be mean to but when you think of them as being Jesus rules of change rule change verse eight says. Then he bowed himself, and said what is your servant that you should look upon such a dead dog is my finisher knew he didn't deserve this kind. This kindness and David was showing to her that he didn't deserve it, and the king called the zebra saucer and send them I'm given to your master son all that belonged to Saul and to all his house. You therefore in your sons and your servant shall work the land for shall bring in the harvest that your master son may have food to eat, but my favorite chef your master son showing bread at my table always now. Zebra had 15 sons and 20 servants than Zima said to the king, according to all that my lord the king is commanded to serve, so will your servant, do as permission membership said the king, he shall eat at my table like one of the king's sons key thing in here what you think. Zebra is thinking at this point he's blown away. He's looking at David whose exercises such grace and mercy and kindness before somebody that is no threat for somebody that has been part of the enemies if you will, against David and zebra, soaking it in.

See, there's people to watch us. They watch how we treat people who are mean to us, and maybe their watch and trying to figure out what we say we believe we think is a real next life lesson are kindness to people as a testimony to the love and grace of God are kindness the people as a testimony to the loving grace of God you're listening to Pastor David McGee on cross the bridge will be back with more in just a moment but first, if you haven't been to our website@crossthebridge.com yet you waiting for go to cross the bridge.com to learn more about how listeners like you are helping get the life-changing truth of God's word to more people to the radio, Internet and mobile technologies across the bridge.com you can also check out our broadcast schedule.

What is our meanness goes against everything that we say we believe forget man and restaurant said about a table in this. This woman was one of the mower complaining people ever listen to a normal life.

I mean she everything was wrong and she was given the waitress are mean. I felt bad for the girl you know and then she ate half of her meal.

And if you want to send it back and then want to pay for. You know, just so glad my waiter when the woman got up to leave sheet she turned around to get a bag or something and I saw her big pin Jesus first I thought all we just lost the battle to wonder what that waitress you actually talk to her little bit message EVA she gave you a hard time. I just apologize on her behalf. You know who she was a believer, the door was open.

I didn't get Dr. but if she was an unbeliever. What he think she was thinking that this is the harsh reality she probably thought I don't need any of what she has talked about us is doing to others as you would have them do unto you netherworld have a different twist version is the world's going doing others in the room got a thing on the you need to consider people as you consider yourself as a challenge and this is so convicted before Michelle had a young son, whose name was Mika and all who dwelt in the house and Zima were servants of my finisher summa for the shift dwelt in Jerusalem create continually at the King's table and he was lame in both of his feet. Now here's the thing on to talk to this couple is here for close. I have people that wounds me that have wounded me. Some are in the process presently wounding me and it's difficult it's hard to exercise this walking in love and charity and kindness. You know, I think the same thing that most of your thinking tonight when you think of these people you think you don't deserve me to be kind to them that they don't deserve for me to love because a man named me they want me they hurt they sinned against me. I think I think of all of us were honest everybody in here and so you think that on some level or another. I think that what's wrong with that way of thinking. What if God thought about us like when we came to him to be forgiven. He said you know what you wounded me you sinned against me. You're not worthy for me to give you my love. You're not worthy for me to be kind and merciful and forgiving to you that he do that no night it and understand. You know, historically, say what it that the Jews killed Jesus and historically that's an accurate anyway.

The Romans are the ones who crucified Jesus who really killed Jesus you not friend our sins are what caused him to hang on that cross. We collectively are responsible for the death of Jesus we killed God's son. Then we go to God and say, God, will you forgive me for killing your son got Cynthia forgiven. I don't know how many people never lost a child. Brothers lost to act. I can imagine what that is like for him.

God knows that pain God gives us the opportunity and following him to do the same thing to others look at them and say you know what you don't really deserve necessarily my kindness or are my lover or my prayers. But I'm going to give them to you anyway because the God that I follow.

That's what he's done for me. See eating at the king's table and notice this one verse and here he shall eat at my table like one of the king's son, Dennis, and part of what David was doing was in fact adopting the fellowship saying he'll be like one of my kids will eat at the table with me draw some parallels for it must in the shift. We've already looked at was a cripple. What were we. Before we came to God unable to stand on our own about is very clear about the we can stand before God in our own power and in our own strength. Isaiah 53 six is all we like sheep gone astray. We have turned everyone to his own way, the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. The only thing that we did well before we came to the Lord was blonder all things we still do well after we come to Lord and our feet tend to betray us and there's an interesting interesting thing I'll have time to get into it but the whole soul of the flip thing and often when you see feet in Scriptures. There's a time and two are so feet wonder off our sultans wonder some 50 6/13 is free of rescued me from death, and you've My feet slipping and I couldn't stand before you came to me got so now I can walk in your presence of God in your life giving light Psalm 116 89 says this for you have delivered my soul from death's frontiers in my feet from falling.

I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living. Why was the king David nice to finish. It was because he knew knowing that all initial money was related to how do we get forgiveness. We come to know Jesus Christ.

When David looked at my finisher.

I'm not even sure he really saw my fingers think he saw Jonathan and he thought it was a good friend you and God sees when he looks at us. Once we come to Jesus and asked him to forgive sins. God looks at us and he sees us wrapped in robes of righteousness. He sees his son places we are good no sins on you.

What an amazing thing. We are extending grace and forgiveness when we know Jesus I'm asking this with membership that he seek out King David. No king, David sought him out. Did you seek God know some of you may think you did you know in the I found him. I found the Lord, the Lord wasn't lost when you found okay. You were the one that was lost, and I know that I found it and that whole thing, but there's a theological issue that God wasn't lost. You were lost.

You were looking for and he came looking for you.

He said someone after you go finding the funder bring them to my table I want to adopt another cripple. I know they been my enemy salsa can call in to we had been defeated. We were laying our inheritance had been destroyed just like we were now God came looking for any seeks to restore us to have a set of this type and adopt us to be. One is I got talked about being crippled with the Bishop again was a cripple. How did he get cripple. He got cripple through fall same way every one of us are cripple through the fall of Adam's fall.

Every one of us became lame. We could no longer stand for God. We couldn't heal ourselves. Now we can be adopted. Seen every time we celebrate communion. There's a picture here of coming to his table to the table of Jesus at his invitation, at his request that dine with him, undeservedly we we had. We don't deserve communion. We don't deserve that to be adopted, king of kings were never told that method the shift was ever healed completely here in this life friend you will never be completely healed. You will continue to stumble as you follow Jesus you continue to have problems will continue to mess up sometimes but you know what God still want to sit at the state and you wander off he'll come looking for in this chapter. This is part of this is the heart of God.

This is a picture of me see what Damon's doing this man, this is a picture of me and then Jesus continues without the New Testament decision. What this is what you're supposed to be doing. I'm like you, I read this chapter I read what Jesus told us to do. You know I'm a miserable failure because I haven't done this the web, but the deal is.

There's a whole world out there people you don't know Jesus and the closest thing ever will come to him for some of them will be you. What we do what we say we say well this person's main there as miserable as of lost person. This is what God did for us in this is, in turn, what God expects us to do dollars to love the unlovable to be merciful to those who are merciful to us to be good and kind to those who are neither good nor kind.

Why is that, as an act of worship of God because friend you may have had people be really mean and really hate really spite, but God is so good to you and that's who were supposed to be like God has been good. Pass it on whispering God every person, including myself, that is been listening tonight thoroughly and utterly challenged and lowered right now. We feel like we just can't do so. Lord we ask that not by our strength, but by your strength that we walk in the impossibility of loving are in Lord, that the love that we extend to them is not even really I love is your love your love given to us and then given to them what the Bible plainly tells us that you loved us first. And now we love you back, so may we be the initiators of love to others. As we follow you as we act like we really need your strength. This is we cannot do this whole world. This is a radical departure from the way the world actually lives look out for number one dog eat dog all that stuff. Jesus is saying you know what want to rise above all and when I was praying I was a heartfelt prayer.

You know I hear this message I'm going away can anyone ask too many scars can love people would've hurt me, Jesus is no entry to my country. Did you friend, you know for sure that your sins have been forgiven.

You can know right now only Legion a short simple prayer simply telling God you're sorry and asking him to help you to live for him. God want you to pray this prayer so much that he died to give you the opportunity and the ability to ask him to forgive you.

Please pray this prayer with me out loud right now. Dear Jesus, I believe you died for me that I could be forgiven and I believe you were raised from the dead that I could have a new life not done wrong things I have sent and I'm sorry. Please forgive me of all those things. Please give me the power to live for you.

All of my days in Jesus name, amen it friend if you prayed that prayer according to the Bible you've been forgiven you've been born again.

Jesus said he would not turn anybody away who comes to him and he came for those people who knew they needed forgiveness. Those who were sick, not the righteous to congratulations for you just made the greatest decision that you will ever make.
