Article things about the Bible as you read the Bible to study the Bible. It's not like you're ever going to finish. You know it's not like a unity sit down to a meal and a beaded all year in the clean plate club or Roto-Rooter is not that kind of you're never going be in the clean plate club with about, there's always to be something else that you can look at an end.

If you ever noticed you can read the same chapter Meiners chapters in this book probably read 300 times but I could sit down and read of the night and see some the see some different welcome to cross the bridge with David McGee Senior Pastor of the bridge in Kernersville, North Carolina. On today's program. We have meal. One of David Mickey's assisting pastors with us here right again to be here with our listeners as were continuing through second thing of chapter 6 and today will be discussing a little bit about always learning. As a follower of Jesus. Pastor David talks about Michelangelo at the end of his life. Still talking about how he was still learning, even though he did amazing things for when you stop learning. That's a good and fascinating to be talk about it today as followers of Jesus. We should always be learning continues by first through second Samuel chapter 6, second Samuel chapter 6.David has come to rule over Jerusalem at God's hand in God's timing is an interesting study say in the timing of all that was in a man's timing was in and David summing it was in God's timing and so David now is king over Israel and he has something laid on his heart will see this unfold and second Samuel chapter 6 verse one again. David gathered all the choice men of Israel 30,000 and David arose and went with all the people who are with them. From Bal Judah to bring up from there. The ark of God's name is called by the name the Lord of hosts, who dwells between the cherubim, so they sent the ark of God on new car and blotted out of the house that which was only a loser and a you sons that drove the new car verse four and they brought it out of the house of a bit of that which is only becoming the ark of God. They had went before the ark and then David and all the house of Israel played music before the Lord, all kinds of instruments are for what little heart stringed instruments and tambourines on systems and on symbols. When they came nations threshing floor is a put out his hand to the ark of God took hold of it for the oxen stumbled, then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Susan and got struck, and therefore his error and he died there by the ark of God, and David became angry because the Lord's outbreak against any called the name the place harassed loser. To this day. The striking down of David was afraid of the Lord that they need said how can the ark of the Lord come to me.

So David would not move the ark of the Lord with them into the city of David, but David took it aside to the house a little bit eat on the get type verse 11 ark of the Lord remain in the house. Nobody gets like three months and the Lord blessed nobody to and all his household's talk about the ark of the Lord, the ark of the covenant wises so important why this box God and live in the box going up you will. God did not live in this box.

God's too big to live in a box. What the ark was was a place of contact between God and man, and as such it was a very important piece of furniture will pieces of God, and there were certain ways you did and did not handle the ark again back when the ark was in the tabernacle there was only one day of the year where one man could go in the high priest on Yom Kippur, the day of. That's it. The only time verse 12 that was told King David, saying, the Lord has blessed the house of opening and all that belongs to them because the ark of God. So David went and brought out the ark of God from the house of Obed Edom to the city of David with gladness. I love the statement. The Bible is the best commentary on the Bob because here we covered in one verse a lot of details that we really don't get much insight into except there's another place in the Bible talks about exactly what happened in exactly the way it happened. Keep your finger second Samuel chapter 6 of Rickenbacker and go with me to first Chronicles chapter 15 to keep in your finger in 6 turn and just turn towards the back. It's just the pages for basic 75 towards Georgia back toward the book of Revelation go back towards Chronicles 2nd signal for sex and for sinking source across first Chronicles chapter 15, so this goes into greater detail. When we mention something just because second Samuel leaves this portion out doesn't mean second Samuel wrong, it just means this is a different section of Scripture that enlightens this portion of Scripture, you need to understand because a lot of critics of the Bible would learn this happened learning to let happen there but but this is not contradictory. This is something supplementary if you will that it talks about what actually happened first Chronicles chapter 15 verse one says David built houses for himself and the city.

David and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched a tent for then David said, no one may carry the ark of God, but the Levites, for the Lord has chosen them the cure, the ark of God and the minister before him forever housing know that he found an order God when these things happen. He went back to Judah and said Nathan Somebody get me a Bible on how to figure out how were supposed to be doing is evidently I did it all wrong which is a good thing to do when things fall apart things go wrong what you knew you go to the instruction manual that God has given us first, and David gathered all Israel together Jerusalem to bring up the ark of the Lord to its place which you prepared for the then David assembled the children where the Levites sons collateral. The chief and 120 of his brother, the sons of Merari ACL the chief 220 was run, the sons of your shown Joel achieving 130 of his brother, sons of Alyssa panic :-) chief 200 was run sons of the Ron Delilah chief native is run sons Visio men about the chief and 112, his brothers and David compensate Canadians are the priest and for the Levites for Uriel for Syed Josie my email admin about and he said to them, you are the heads of the father's house of the Levites, sanctify yourselves, you and your brother that you may bring up the ark of the Lord of Israel to the place I prepared for for because you did not do it the first time the Lord our God broke out against us because we did not consult about the proper order. So the priest and the Levite sanctify themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel, the children of the Levites were the ark of God on the shoulders by exposes most of the command. According to the word alert so that helps to illuminate the passenger rent go back to second Samuel chapter 6 so David went to the Bible.

Figure out what the Bible said about how you transported the heart and then he's okay guys this dude according the Bible to do right. David was learning Dave's king Israel is been through all the stuff of life is all over the Philistines and he still learning.

They went back to the Bible study house was to go and he learned how to get any apply that principle.

Let's lifeless as followers of Jesus. We should always be learning as followers of Jesus. We should always be learning when you get to a point where you think you figured it all out for in your in a dangerous place. You are in a dangerous place for you to get ready to learn a really hard lesson. I got a brass plaque that's over computer monitors.

This is Carl, and Paul wrote that's why supposedly Michelangelo at 87 years old brilliant man that he was. It means I am always learning.

I am always learning the cool things about the Bible as you read the Bible as you study the Bible. It's not like you're ever going to finish. You know it's not like in a sit down to a meal and a beaded all year in the clean plate club or whatever you is not that kind you're never going be in the clean plate club with about, there's always to be something else that you can look at an end.

If you ever noticed you can read the same chapter or chapters in this book I've probably read 300 times but I could sit down and read it tonight and see something there see some different one because as believers we should always be always be learning.

There's 13 and so was when those bearing the ark of the Lord, and on six paces that he sacrificed oxen and strategy is interesting, they may stop and kinda did a course correction checkup review of doing this right, we doing okay is this the most efficient way to move the ark of the covenant. Drizzle absolutely not. The move six steps in and sacrifice a mouse that you know that is far from inefficient.

God is not always primarily concerned with efficiency. He is concerned with spirituality and sometimes some things in your life. They may not move in the most efficient manner. But God is at work with a deeper meaning in a deeper purpose that you may not understand. Verse 14 then David danced before the Lord with all his might. And David was wearing a linen e-file and please notice he's got any thought on because a lot of people read this passage of Scripture and think they won. He had a linen e-file is wearing linen evil versus 15 to David no house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord was shouting with the sound of the trumpet, the party big celebration, worship Nonno in you can see that there's joy in their worship and there's also obviously reverence in their worship they can go hand-in-hand. Is there joy in your worship of God is or should be. There should be and I'm sure this before, but having led worship a lot of different places is always such a joy to come here and we worship because you guys are just, and you're just worship monsters you just you know I mean, is it. It's not like I can. I rule you know it's like about here is all and that's something that is so cool, that is so cool and pleasant to watch new people come in and they're not sure. Maybe the music so different than what you're used to. But then the watch you begin the mail begin to worship the Lord. It's an awesome thing. It's a treasure looking that blesses me imagine what it does to God. So there's joy in their worship and what happens when there's during worship. Verse 16. Now is the ark of the Lord came in the city of David McDowell, Saul's daughter look through the window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord and she despise them in her heart while the site of David worshiping made her mad generating answer a question some of you may have in your head and your heart because sometimes you you go to a family gathering and you don't really do anything or say anything, but also enterprise management is just my family is the day I don't know what you do for David what is going there and swing from the Chandler want to get mad.

I get upset. Why is that because your worship, your worship when you're gone I don't go in there and I don't sing anything you see anything that we worship. Worship isn't music worship is a lifestyle worship is a lifestyle and when you go and among people who don't worship God or not walking with the Lord. They sometimes can just be angered by your present and you don't necessarily have done anything next life lesson I worship her devotion to God will upset some people are worship her devotion to God will upset some people now don't go out of your way to make people mad.

I met some people who go out of their way to be obnoxious. The people and and then they they think that they're being persecuted and I call handled her not being a jerk for Jesus.

Don't be a jerk for Jesus and because some people really they act like jerks and then something is a man get away from your note. You just been rude to somebody in Merced I get out of my face. So don't be jerk for Jesus, but understand.

Sometimes you will do anything people be upset and David was worshiping and Michelle did not like it now Matthew question. Does this reveal anything about the heart of David.

No visit reveal about.

Evidently she understood David, the king, she understood they were the war she didn't understand David, the man of God. This angered her and this didn't reveal anything about David. It revealed something that was in the heart of McCall and you understand somebody starts casting stones at another believer slam him talking him down gossiping about sending emails make a phone call there what they're doing is commenting on their own heart, not on the people are talking about this is what's happening you're listening to Pastor David McGee on cross the bridge will be back with more than just a moment but first, if you haven't been to our website@crossthebridge.com yet what are you waiting for go to cross the bridge.com to learn more about how listeners like you are helping get the life-changing truth of God's word to more people to the radio, Internet and mobile technologies across the bridge.com you can also check out our broadcast schedule. Now here's Pastor David as he continue showing verse by verse.

Verse 17 says so they brought the ark of the Lord and set in its place in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected it. Then David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.

When David finished, offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.

He blessed the people in the name of the Lord's house, he blessed the people read of a godly leader. He blesses the people that is one of the desires of a godly leader is to bless the people God desires to bless people. David desired to bless the people I knew, saffron leadership here desire to bless the people here. People are praying for you to be blessed. People are praying for you to be blessed by the service. A lot of times we consider doing something or not doing something that when the questions of how this will blessed people will is blessed life lesson. Your God in godly leadership desire to bless people that's one of the one the litmus test you can use to see events godly leadership.

That's what Jesus wants to be other centered. Bless people verse 19 then he distributed among all the people among the whole multitude of Israel. Both the women and the men to everyone.

A loaf of bread a piece of meat the cake of raisins. So all the people departed everyone to his house and David returned to bless his household and is going to surprise any Michael, the daughter Saul came out to meet Dave and said how glorious was the king of Israel today uncovering himself in the house of the maids of his servant. So one of the base fellows shamelessly uncovers himself. Honey I'm home. I guess I don't know. Probably not the greeting.

He was thinking he was going to get.

What a bummer this glorious day is coming to his house to bless his household and what happens is his house, his heartless wife slams him from the get-go. Talk about being a downer and understand you know to be people that are to criticize you are going to be able to come out against it. That's just part of the package. God's don't let it bum you out and noticed David's I can say what was I think I really should've been worshiping God is to be like you, whatever you not exactly appropriate, but he's not be disheartened by her words.

And again. What a glorious day for David.

What a glorious day for Israel Saturday for McCall because she spectator the what's going on she wants from that window. She had the opportunity she had the choice that she could have gone down there and spark of God. This is also. That's not what she did well. He simply whirling around only got on his e-file. My gosh, I'm not worship he's only got only I'm not worship listen that guitar. I'm not worship that's not music I'm going to be a spectator while some people to make that decision.

How sad it is that they stand off to the side of spectators and look at things and go will. That's not right and I don't think that knowing this they should be doing now like that were missing the point.

We all have our personal preferences.

You and that's fine but the moment our personal preferences began to matter more than our worship of God himself. Friend, you created you creating that's why we we will come out here sometimes and some nights we we rock really hard and some nights we got a mixer that some might come out with a acoustic guitar and acoustic satin because it doesn't matter as instruments important part is God himself. That focus is always the same and you can choose to be a spectator and you miss out. And if you choose to be involved understand there's gonna be criticisms that's okay that's all right that's part of verse 21 so they would send him a call. It was before the Lord chose me instead of your father and all his cell to appoint me, ruler of the people of the Lord over Israel.

Therefore, I will play music David made a decision long before this day that he was worship God no matter what.

And here's wife is the one that step seven is like you got some special significance to people here that are here tonight when their spouse is not only not here, but discouraging you from, don't let her keep her from coming. God will bless you. God sees that God will honor that as you come to him. Verse 22 and I will be even more undignified than this and will be humble in my own site, but as for the maidservants of him. You've spoken about them. I will be held in honor David's undaunted part of her problem was that David was appearing before the public just in his e-file. What is that mean, what was the significance David was a king David had kingly garments but in that moment, David decided to take off his kingly garments to worship with the people David in many ways is a picture of Jesus Christ because he Jesus did the same thing in a different way. Jesus was in heaven.

We can even understand that conceptually until we get when Lazarus the gospel of John.and Jesus wept.

I think in part, Jesus was weeping because he was sad for the people that were grieving around Sheila often pondered some was Jesus weeping because he was going to bring Lazarus back because I'm firmly convinced that when Lazarus came back Lazarus like Palmer was great what you do.

You brought me back so we will understand until we get to heaven. But even then were only going to get a glass because Jesus was in heaven with angels worshiping him and one day he stood up and in essence took office kingly garments is that I got a good where you go to go down there to the earth yet will take your kingly garments now not take to be one of them. You can be one of them can be born as a baby baby that has diapers and needs its mother's milk. Born to a woman that's going to be called an illegitimate mother that will be more accessible will be born in Jerusalem and some high priest or some big rabbi's house be born of North some more accessible will be raised just like one of them so that I can understand what they go through what if we do only accused him of blasphemy. We accuse them of being driven by demons and ultimately because we fear to strengthen power. We nail into a tree as our way of saying thanks that's what Jesus did for us, for you and it took office, kingly garments, and so that's the problem that Mikell had not that he was new to her neck and he had his e-file, but that he took office, kingly garments that bothered her and she didn't really understand kingship is and David didn't even think she would people think about take off my kingly garments. He didn't care he was worshiping God and there's there's something right there for us when you're worshiping God focus on God.

Don't focus on anybody else. Don't don't focus on the people around you don't don't focus on us appear focus on God focus on the Lord could happen.

Sad verse, verse 23 therefore McCall, the daughter of Saul had no children to the date of her death. She was bare so it's that to realize the consider naysayers people come better say these things do these things in emails make phone calls and they just there just better. And when people are talking about. You don't let it affect you too much. I mean I'm hard and I can let it affect me a little bit but consider the source. Somebody that's me in better semi is being cynical. It's a some somebody who's been a spectator to what God is doing.

If you and they're missing out. And as painful as it is to have that happen to you. It could be worse. You could be one of the nicer. It appears after this that David he had no more relations sexually is no are intimate with McCall. I believe she was bare and how sad it is when when people look on people who worshiping God growing in their faith and they sit back and they criticize and begin to speak against them and what's going on. It's a sad thing because who in the people focusing on focused on God's David focus on tables focus on got those McCall focus on just focus on the people there's the problem she had the choice you could be a part of the worship but she chose to be a spectator because of that she was barren and you know what you are spectator to the things of God long enough, you will be spiritually bare as a fruit or consequence of your choice not to worship God.

Is that what you want to be bare, spiritually worship God, and we saw next 16 Paul and Silas worshiping God, even though they had been beaten and thrown in prison, praising God in spite of our services under some egos are going through hard times. Know that and see worshiping worship. What a blessing again that blesses me and I just think I'm just a man and think how that blesses as he looks to that brother.

He's going through hard time looking me in his voice raised his hands raised leasing in the me so we all have the choice friend you know for sure that your sins have been forgiven. You can know right now only Jenna short, simple prayer simply telling God you're sorry and asking him to help you to live for him. Please pray this prayer with me out well right now. Dear Jesus, I believe you died for me that I could be forgiven and I believe you were raised from the dead that I could have a new life not done wrong things I have sent and I'm sorry.

Please forgive me of all those things. Please give me the power to live for you. All of my days in Jesus name, amen friend of you prayed that prayer according to the Bible you've been forgiven you've been born again.

Jesus said he would not turn anybody away who comes to him and he came for those people who knew they needed forgiveness.

Those who were sick, not the righteous to congratulations bring you just made the greatest decision that you will ever make. God bless you, if you prayed that prayer with David for the first time we'd love to hear from you.
