2 Samuel Chapter 5:1-25

Pray about everything. Be anxious for nothing man it if you can grab a hold of this one life lesson. Life would change forever. Not only your life with the quality of your life would change forever.

Not only quality of your life with the quality of the lives of all those people around you would forever be changed one because they're so used to you walking around freaked out that it would be such a testimony that if you walked in the peace of God, you were an anxious every time some welcome to cross the bridge with David McGee Senior Pastor of the bridge in Kernersville, North Carolina today on the program. The program rather Bob, great to be here with you today that say what we gotta hurry up and get this done because I got a lot of things to do at home. I got a bunch of task to finish at work got a funny feeling somewhat anxious today.

I do send a little bit anxious but I'm Tay what the Bible tells us to pray about everything and be anxious for nothing except take a moment pray and be anxious for nothing, and guess what Bob Prof. David talk about just that today on the program. Let's listen to him, sharing, first by first or second Samuel chapter 5 and Neil turn with me to second Samuel chapter 5 the Civil War has just ended between Israel.

There was two factions basically a son of Saul who was anointed and ordained, and yet rose up against David and David and his army ended up triumphing and so he comes in the power after the end of this Civil War second Samuel chapter 5 verse one says that all the tribes of Israel came to David and Ron and spoke saying.

Indeed, we are your bone in your flash. Also in time past, when Saul was king over us. You were the one who led Israel out brought the man and the Lord said the you you show shepherd my people Israel and be ruler over Israel.

Therefore all the elders of Israel came to the king and one in King David made a covenant with them and have brought before the Lord and they anointed king over Israel. Verse four David was 30 years old when he began the rain and the rain 40 years and have Ron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months and in Jerusalem he reigned 33 years over all Israel and Judah were six and the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites and the inhabitants of the land and spoke to David same. You shall not come in here but the blind and the lame will repel you thinking, David cannot come in here. Nevertheless, David took the stronghold of Zion that is the city of David.

Now David said on that date whoever climbs up by way of the water shaft and defeats the Jebusites, the lame and the blind who were hated by David so that's a little weird insert. He shall be chief and Capt. Therefore, they say, the blind and the lame should not come into the house.

Then David dwelt in the stronghold and called it the city of David and David built around from the Milo and inward. The Milo is the wall that was protecting the city of David Burstyn so David went on and became great in the Lord of host was with him. Then Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David and cedar trees and carpenters and masons in the belt, David house. Verse 12 said David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel and that he had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel and David took more concubines and wives from Jerusalem after he had come from have brought in more sons and daughters were born to David that these are the names of those who were born him in Jerusalem.

And yet Scripture points out, it was a perfect he made some mistakes.

Verse seven thinks that when the Philistines and heard that they had anointed David king over Israel all the Philistines went up the search for David and David heard of it went down to the stronghold understand the Philistines why David was over couple tribes are like yeah whatever used to be a friend. We used to hang out least bike together they're okay with once he heard he was king over all Israel.

They considered him an enemy restricting the Philistines also went and deployed themselves in the Valley. Everything David not a very wise thing choosing Jerusalem as the capital explained Ron was in the south part of Israel where David was already a leader and then when the northern tribes that hey we want you to rule over us is well. David moved from the south to the north to Jerusalem, which was basically on the boundary between the two tribes so that he could rule over all of them and they can say ways and have run as part of them got right in the middle. Smart move. Move. I'm sure led by God. So they joined together. The place that they're attacking here they deployed in the Valley reframe is the Valley is right outside of Jerusalem and their plan was a good and what was that to divide the nation once again.

I think they attacked at the middle thinking we can go cut right through the middle of this country, then we can divide well you give her the same what to send divide and conquer right to split the nation and the takedown again. Speaking of unity gender Stan that that's part of the enemy's plan to Gilbertson step further.

That's part of the enemy's plan for this church is to divide and conquer. And you can either be part of that the dividing are you can be part of the unity you get to decide you can be divisive and quite frankly will be used by the enemy or you can be used, to unify the body and be used by God. Just so you know I mean if you sent out to go well what's going on at the church.

Nothing is going on at the church were reading this chapter is talking about the vision and unity and I think we need to understand once again that unity is very mission critical. If you will to the body of Christ as we join together to accomplish all these things now resting him means giants Valley of the Giants asking to be important adjustment and meanwhile when I say John's what you think of in your life you think of this, not the other.

But in those moments in those times and in life in general. What should we be focusing on the understand we tend to focus on our problems.

We tend to focus on our problems like that versus CT first your problems and all these things shall be added.

Is that what is to seek God. Some of them about. I've tried that trying to focus on the problems you know what happens. You focus on your problems. You all this promise big problem I need to get past this promise to keep focus on this problem. In this prominent and then the problem grows as I get better get worse then you focus on the Lord and somehow as you focus on the Lord and you refused to focus on this God deals with the problem that gives us an interesting challenge in this life lesson, pray about everything.

Be anxious for nothing, pray about everything. Be anxious for nothing man it if you could grab a hold of this one life lesson. Your life would change forever. Not only your life but the quality of your life would change forever.

Not only quality of your life with the quality of the lives of all those people around you would forever be changed. Why is there so use to you walking around freaked out that it would be such a testimony that if you walked in the peace of God, you were in anxious every time some you know people like that every time some happens, forcing the nose and all. They just freak out over the smallest things that you know what that tells about that person is at their relationship with God is on shaky ground because they're not trust in him without ever is freaking them out, however much it takes to freak you out. It kinda shows where you are with the Lord. And if you freak out real easy. You don't trust God very much but if it takes a whole lot to freak you out your trust in the Lord because back to this life lesson, pray about everything. Be anxious for nothing. God give you the victory. He says so in his word. Verse 22 David went to be all kerosene and David defeated them there and he said the Lord is broken through my enemies before me like a breakthrough of water. That was already known where we should focus so it's something in your life is failing. Step back for a minute and wonder how God sees it is. Maybe God has bigger plans than what you got your hands on part of that plan is let you fail at something so he can bless you and something that which is more concerned with having your way, having God's way and when you raise kids, you always see them in their moment of tantrums demanding their own way. I wonder how often were like that to God, all this guts is not much out. I got some so much better for you but if you're asking the man for that IT would go ahead, go ahead and have that we should wait. We should lean on me. She asked me what you should get but that's okay really will do something awesome for you but it will sell for second, third, fourth, seventh best that's fun and maybe thinking samurai pastor David well here's what the Bible tells us in Ephesians chapter 3 verse 20 says now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us and also verse the new living translation of verses is glory be to God by his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask her and believe guts as I can do more new thing I knew more than you dream possible in your life you trust me you keep demanding your own way you get your own way. That's it.

I think so many Christian so many believers settle for what's good and so God's best, often walk down that hallway and play little game of trying to figure out which country was flag thing. These are all flags of missionaries that we support. I think while we wanted to reach the world were doing. Think I will should be a part of C because it's like a football game negative football game the spectators and people to cheer the teams all but at the end of the day at the end of the battle you will the people that have been in the fight that read that came out victorious man those of the people that are really related and God wants us to be involved in the battle involved in the fight, serving him watching with amazement. What he'll do with our lives or maybe I'm just completely off-base and you can just continue making excuses but to I'd rather continue to be amazed, but the decision is yours.

Here's the cool thing you can make a decision and I to serve them with more passion to put them as number one is perhaps a crowd of people dishonest.

There's probably a lot of people here were God's not number one in your life and your struggling in your battle and in your wonder what's wrong and I'm up here and I'm telling so if you leave not making him number one it's not my fault it's not God's awesome thing is gone. Just wait three to say that you understand that God is so gracious God, help me to make a number one in my life that God doesn't linger back and Willis answers you for a commitment so that's is okay by make me number one and see what happens.

Seek the kingdom of God first and see these things are added to or seeking the kingdom of God first. That's what David did over and over. He sought the kingdom of God. He sought the wisdom of God and God blessed them so abundant stands in stark contrast to Sullivan. Saul saw his way, his timing his bass and live the life of hell mediocrity and compromise in any see David. May God give us the boldness of David, the step out and see how God uses tonight.
