Before you just sit there and go praise God. I feel blessed as God did all this just to bless me see the whole thing the night the worship of teaching to bless you.

But here's the thing Bruce must be a cop that just received blessing new fee then you turn around okay. I have been blessed now want to be a blessing. Other people I receive this now only report out on other people. Welcome to cross the bridge with David McGee Senior Pastor of the bridge in Kernersville, North Carolina today on the program.

We have Neil one of the McGee's assisting pastors.

The program brother awesome to be here with you today. Bob and Pastor David just got finished talking about how we come together and accomplish great things for God, but we also do things individually awesome for the Lord also mail what we take what we do as meeting as the body of Christ go out to our famous our neighborhoods and even all workplaces and accomplish amazing things for the work of the Lord.

Sounds like the church is a place where we get equipped to do the work of the Lord is right and Pastor Dave is going to help equip us today by teaching the word of God getting us to be active in our faith. Let's continue listening to the McGee's sharing through second Samuel chapter 5 turn with me to second Samuel chapter 5 the Civil War has just ended between Israel. There was two factions basically a son of Saul who was an anointed un-ordained and yet rose up against David and David and his army ended up triumphing and so he comes in the power after the end of this Civil War second Samuel chapter 5 verse one says that all the tribes of Israel came to David and Ron and spoke saying. Indeed, we are your bone in your flash. Also in time past, when Saul was king over us. You were the one who led Israel out brought the man and the Lord said to you, you show shepherd my people Israel and be ruler over Israel. Therefore all the elders of Israel came to the king and run and King David made a covenant with them and have run before the Lord and they anointed king over Israel. Verse four David was 30 years old when he began the rain in the rain for years and have run. He reigned over Judah seven years and six months in Jerusalem he reigned 33 years over all Israel and Judah were six and the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites and the inhabitants of the land and spoke to David same. You shall not come in here but the blind and the lame will repel you thinking, David cannot come in here. Nevertheless, David took the stronghold of Zion that is the city of David. Now David said on that date whoever climbs up by way of the water shaft and defeats the Jebusites, the lame and the blind who were hated by David so that's a little weird insert. He shall be chief and Capt. Therefore, they say, the blind and the lame should not come into the house.

Then David dwelt in the stronghold and called it the city of David and David built around from the Milo and inward.

The Milo is the wall that was protecting the city of David Burstyn so David went on and became great in the Lord of host was with him. So David went on and became great.

David kept going and David Grown. These are two very important things in the life of the believer to keep going and keep growing. Keep going. Really, I believe. Keep going keep coming to church because see what happens sometimes when you come here you'll get some new information but a lot of what will happen is you'll be reminded of stuff that you already know and encouraged to walk in those thing and there's one of the things that we can do that really. If you think about is the easiest thing to do is to be in fellowship in church. Why, because then were fellowship and hang out with the right people. Not that we were all perfect, but it at least you're here even given of your Thursday night to be here to learn about a worship with other people, so at least we can say for the majority here were like-minded.

You're going to be encouraged in your wall. Hopefully I can be here and somebody go all you know that whole God thing as a bunch of nonsense is wasting your so that's one of the things keep on going, keep coming to church to be going through a tough time. All the more so because you know I have had the experience of not really want to go to church for Buster and I love church but in my life there's been times. I didn't feel like going and you know it was interesting. It is almost always.

I went ahead anyway and the times that I felt like going the least were usually the times that I was blessed the most and I don't know this because I was just willing to bend my will to God's and got him to go.

You know I don't like it, or maybe there was just a battle going on to keep me from there, you know are sometimes you have this big fight on the way to church know in the car, not that anybody here ever does anything like that or has anything like that ever happened with but you come anyway and God blesses and keep growing. Keep going keep growing Negro is a believer, you continue to change. You continue to change. You understand that I'm still growing as a Christian. There's things in my life that God is still working out.

I am still growing friend of your here tonight and you think you've arrived.

There's a big problem you hear about the have this real awakening experience because we don't arrive over here we arrive when we arrive we arrive when we get to heaven, not before. So the moment you think you got it all figured out, you're probably getting ready to have a learning experience that hopefully is painless, but may not be so keep growing. Keep growing and imparting that is recognizing the you're not perfect. Not a lot of times we like to point out how others are not growing, but ever heard that saying when every point one finger to my ocean .3 more back yourself to be careful about that one is just a smokescreen and you know it when you do that most people are aware that so whoever you're talking to about somebody else having a problem. You know how we do you look at the person you are struggling with some big personal and then Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David and cedar trees and carpenters and masons in the belt, David house was God hooking David up that you got was blessing David God was blessing name why David was putting God first.

Now, my name is David but I'm in no way parallel in my life with. With King David. But it's intervene a couple years ago.

I mean I was living in a farm house in Summerfield we, I mean we did have central air there is.

I mean there's you know there's coming a roof overhead and praise God and then we thought well in his 25 minutes one way the church and need to live closer the church start looking around Kernersville, to be honest, I was looking for house where I could do something I use the remodeling. So go look for basement refinishing or not it may finish in some like that you know as we looked around. It was interesting because we finally found a house we really interested in, and it was completely finished. There was nothing new or no attic finishers, no basement finish and and I was I thinking Lord is this you tell me I don't need to be working on the house right now I need to be about your house and as I was praying that as I was thinking that I walked out the door. God driving down the street just happily drop back down the street that he said he stopped and looked at me, said man I love your church okay. Praise God. God was blessing me. I wasn't freaked out about a house or out of sorts about trying to find a place God brought me to that point.

Also also real estate agent from this fellowship was the one that hooked me up with the house. He our life especially feel such God stories and when we put in number one guarantee your life will be filled with God.

Stories. But if you have a miss five or six or 12 through 1113 oh you just really frustrated that now here's the amazing thing I'm saying this" from the Bible. There's only people that leave here tonight.

They go back to the exact same thing they been doing and wonder why God is not bless them, wonder whether struggle.

God gives ears to hear.

Verse 12 said David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel and that he had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel Anderson is a great first to who established David as king over Israel. God did David absolutely not. God did notice why God exalted the kingdom was for the sake David, not David was blast, but as for the sake of the people. I believe that God looks around and he looks for group of people that are willing to love the people teach the people. The Bible and then God pours himself out on that group and I think that's what we see going on here and who was done what's going on here.

God has it's the Lord in the me see.

That makes it all the more exciting because it means that God isn't just in this book. 2000 years ago working in the lives of people. God is one thing to do a work in our lives in this church right now.

Today, that gets us excited.

Why does he want to do that to bless people now before you just sit there and go praise God. I feel blessed because God did all this just to bless me. Yes he did.

He absolutely the whole thing the night to worship the teaching to bless you. But here's the thing.

Reese must be a cop that just received blessing new see then you turn around okay. I have been blast now want to be a blessing.

Other people I received this report out on other people. That's what supposed to happen in an unknown attachment for many of you because you company go you know I had this conversation with this person at work what your timeout last night and sure enough that with them and all men.

They were just so they were so exciting I just got excited. Tell about it was just off you know what it's like is like we all sit here and we all feed on the word of God and you hear so much stuff Thompson appeared ability jungle at school, that's great. I'm seeing new things and and so were all sitting around the table. We get ministers like her so much leftover check out listen with the mom said said that you blessing other people's really measuring something on the if you just keep receiving blessings without pouring back out is going to be a time when your cup is full. God's going cease to pour into you because there's no more room are you walking right out of, blessing, or you feel like maybe God actually hold his hand back in here if you feel like God's holiness hand back, ask yourself in my blessing. Now here's Pastor David as he continues showing verse by verse verse 13 and David took more concubines and wives from Jerusalem after he had come from have brought in more sons and daughters David that these are the names of those who were born to him in Jerusalem. Jamila Shabbat, Nathan Solomon Eberhardt, Lucia. They flagged just via a lecture mama like Cher Shama Liotta is a fella.

Now this is not saying that David was doing a good thing when he married all these women and he had concubines his life just got much more complicated, and he's going to have some serious problems later in his life.

From that now. Deuteronomy 17 really get the whole picture you can maybe jot that down and read it later couple verses godly and forth. What a king should and shouldn't do. It says when you come to the land which the Lord God is giving you and possess it and dwell in it and I say I will set a king over me like all the nations around to start, and there and got stuck about the do's and don'ts of the king included in their Deuteronomy 1717 says neither shall he multiply wives for himself, bless his heart turn away nor Shelley greatly multiply silver and gold for himself, so here in this morning that the king shouldn't have a bunch of white. I'm sure David knew this verse but somehow he didn't need David was an awesome leader. I think probably one of the best one of the strongest leaders this earth was ever known. And yet Scripture points out, it was a perfect he made some mistakes.

Do you realize and really see some of you realize there were some people that were in David's army in David's government in that city if you will, and they looked at Dave and they said you know I'm not. I'm not following him because blank I'm not following him because whatever he ran off to Phyllis the when I thought I should've stayed in this room. I'm not going to follow him because I think he had something to do with that whole lavender later to follow him. We all know about that Bathsheba thing people would not did not follow the greatest leader. This one of the greatest leaders this world was ever not want because he won perfect friend and you're still looking for the perfect leader. Beat in the government or in the church, may help you. There's no such thing. There is no such thing as a perfect leader.

Life lesson. There are no perfect leaders now there are no perfect legal Pastor Weiss and are yeah I mean why you pointed out, because I've seen believers that either were looking for the perfect leader in a church and so they never find a church, they never find a place where they can pour themselves out and be blessed because they always find that excuse what there's this wrong with the pastor, not a likely pastor that and really know what there's some legitimate stuff means summer is not somewhere that is not teaching the word of God know what you're starving to death. You should fellowship but I think a lot of times what we do is win that nitpick so that we can have an excuse to Connor continue to be some kind of Christian vagrant who never really plugs into a church never really becomes accountable never really pours herself out why because were so busy faultfinding and sensitive I'm not the perfect leader all make mistakes and I love God and I want to see God's best for this place. But see, there's week leaders are strong leaders are good leaders are bad leaders is greatly there's no such thing as a perfect leader.

I guess in that he could say there's there's also no such thing as perfect president if you're looking for the perfect president that doesn't exist. But the Bible says versus preferably part of the reason this is important is because sooner or later you have to come to grips with this and and if you don't then what can happen is your faith can be completely blown out of the water because you put so much faith in man that you you actually need to be disillusioned and remember that your faith should be in God should be in God. You know it's interesting, though David with all his mass up.

You know the grace it's in here were giving these children, Joseph and Mary were both of the house of David and one the genealogies in the Gospels genealogy of Mary, the other is the genealogy of Joseph. That's why there's a difference in the genealogy. Joseph came through Solomon and Mary came through Nathan.

Even though David wasn't perfect, even though he made some mistakes, God still use David still use David not only in his kingship, but also in his family off of or something that when the Philistines and heard that they had anointed David king over Israel all the Philistines went up the search for David and David heard of it went down to the stronghold now understand the Philistines why David was over couple tribes are like yeah whatever he used to be a friend. We used to hang out least bike together they're okay with once they heard he was king over all Israel. They considered him an enemy restricting the Philistines also went and deployed themselves in the Valley. Everything David not a very wise thing choosing Jerusalem as the capital explained Tamron was in the south part of Israel where David was already a leader and then when the northern tribes that hey we want you to rule over us is well. David moved from the south to the north to Jerusalem, which was basically on the boundary between the two tribes so that he could rule over all of them and they can say ways and have run as part of them got right in the middle. Smart move. Move. I'm sure led by God. So they joined together. The place that they're attacking here they deployed in the Valley reframe is the Valley is right outside of Jerusalem and their plan was a good and what was that to divide the nation once again. I think they attacked at the middle thinking we can go cut right through the middle of this country, then we can divide well you you heard the same what to send divide and conquer right to split the nation and the taken now, again, speaking of unity gender Stan that that's part of the enemy's plan regular bits of step further. That's part of the enemy's plan for this church is to divide and conquer.

And you can either be part of that the dividing are you can be part of the unity you get to decide you can be divisive and quite frankly will be used by the enemy or you can be used, to unify the body and be used by God. Just so you know I mean if you sent out to go well what's going on at the church.

Nothing is going on at the church were reading this chapter is talking about the vision and unity and I think we need to understand once again that unity is very mission critical. If you will to the body of Christ as we join together to accomplish all these things now resting him means giants Valley of the Giants asking to be important adjustment and meanwhile when I say John's what you think of in your life you you think of this, not the other. This problem in this. Not sure this Gorka lecture that's going to work out what would he think David thought up when he heard the word John fact that he still had glass hits a more because at one time in his life he faced the giant. No problem God was with you that verse 19 so David inquired of the Lord same shall I go up against the Philistines. We you deliver them in the my hand and the Lord said they would go out for. I will doubtless deliver the Philistines in your hand.

I love this and will see this over and over and over and over where David Myers of the Lord.

David and say will there's a Philistines here I go.

They stopped and goes God we omitted this is the enemy invading the land of Israel and the summit might be real obvious what they were supposed to do. David stops his mascot mascot. You think the people were freaked out. I guarantee the people were freaked.

I guarantee thinking that David freaked. There's an opera on the prize guy what he wants to understand. I don't and I'm not sure about this. This is going out into conjecture land here. I think David prayed about it and David listened.

I don't think God in an audible voice spoke to David here and sit God for all about those things and I think David was praying. David was listen and David felt impressed by the Lord that still small voice yet go up school.com deliver him in the Mayan and that was enough for David.

Have you ever had anything in your life you just thought you couldn't get past get over it. Finish with sure you have. Maybe you're in here tonight. Maybe one time he thought there was no way whatever. Fill in your personal blank. There's no way you you never quit drinking. Yet God is delivered, the way you never quit smoking God is delivered.

No Leo quit gossiping God is delivered. So one of the giant your face now can God deliver you from those things absolutely. But in those moments in those times and in life in general. What should we be focusing on the understand we tend to focus on our problems. We tend to focus on our problems like that versus CT first your problems and all these things shall be added. Is that what is to seek God.

Some of you know that I can focus on morale. I tried that trying to focus on the problems you know what happens.

You focus on your problems. You all this promise big problem I need to get past this promise to keep focusing on this problem. In this problem. It and then the problem grows as I get better get worse then you focus on the Lord and somehow as you focus on the Lord and you refused to focus on this God deals with the problem that gives us an interesting challenge in this life lesson, pray about everything. Be anxious for nothing, pray about everything.

Be anxious for nothing man it if you could grab a hold of this one life lesson.

Your life would change forever. Not only your life but the quality of your life would change forever.

Not only quality of your life. The quality of the lives of all those people around you would forever be changed. Why because they're so used to you walking around freaked out that it would be such a testimony that if you walked in the peace of God, you were an anxious every time some you know people like that every time some happens, forcing the pick up know all these freaked out over the smallest things that you know what that tells about that person is at their relationship with God is on shaky ground because they're not trust in him without ever is freaking them out, however much it takes to freak you out.

It kinda shows where you are with the Lord. And if you freak out real easy.

You don't trust God for it takes a whole lot to freak you out your trust in the Lord friend you know for sure that your sins have been forgiven. You can know right now only Legion a short simple prayer simply telling God you're sorry and asking him to help you to live for him. Please pray this prayer with me out loud right now.

Dear Jesus, I believe you died for me that I could be forgiven and I believe you were raised from the dead that I could have a new life not done wrong things I have sent and I'm sorry. Please forgive me of all those things.

Please give me the power to live for you. All of my days in Jesus name, amen it friend of you prayed that prayer according to the Bible you've been forgiven you've been born again.

Jesus said he would not turn anybody away who comes to him and he came for those people who knew they needed forgiveness. Those who were sick, not the righteous to congratulations bring you just made the greatest decision that you will ever make.
