A Marriage Made in Heaven

Our fourth message in our series on the unity called battle of the gods, since the name of the series is only from John chapter 5 where Jesus shares with us what the Trinity is all about, and this morning were going to focus on the order within the Godhead there is an order that there three equal, and yet there is a distinction. The father is not the son. The son is not the spirit of the spirit is not the son or the father. There is a distinction in role in the father is in supreme authority, the son submits to the father in the spirit submits to the son and the father. Why is this important because when we understand this order within the Godhead. We also understand the order within marriage this morning. The message is called a marriage made in heaven. John chapter 5 verse 18.

Therefore the Jews meeting the Jewish religious leaders sought all the more to kill him. Meeting Jesus Christ because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was his father making himself equal with God, but now look at the flipside, in verse 30 Jesus says I can of myself do nothing as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous, because I do not seek my own will but the will of the father who sent me in one verse. Jesus says I'm equal. But in another verse he says there is a difference several years ago we were traveling to visit Nicole's family in Georgia had just gotten on the highway just on the highway and we I looked in the mirror and saw these red and blue lights behind me. Anybody else have seen those red lights behind you, and I was like aw come on we just got on the highway where in the world of this guy come from, I had many justifications. I look to the speedometer and sure enough, I was speeding. I made my justification was a man come all, I just got on the highway. I didn't have time to slow down you have to merge.

I had another justification of the kids in the back of me. I'm trying to it'll keep anybody quiet. Another justification that which is when we try to use a lot everybody else is speeding Lottie come after me. I got my license registration out short. I watched in the mirror as this guy gets out of the car.

He is like a little kid. He must've just got out of high school and to be a lady in here he is gonna write me a ticket. Something in my so what does he know about life.

What does he know about life. I become are you not tell me how to behave better than you are no more than you and by the way does he think he's better than me. I had all these things running through my mind. But, you know, sort of became give me a ticket. I went about my business. What is the point even though I had many justifications why he has no right over me even though I may have been superior to him in certain aspects of life and even though we may be equal in many ways when he goes to vote. He has one vote and when I go to vote. I have one vote. We are equal in many ways, yet in the order established in our society. He had authority over me. Equality and order is a statement are not opposed to each other.

They are two sides of the same coin equality were equal, and yet there's an order where he is superior to me. He has authority over me are not opposed to each other. You need both of them to have a stable society in today's messaging to see both because the Trinity is equality. The father the son. The Holy Spirit three are equal, and yet there is an order where the father is in authority. The son submits to the father. And here is the Holy Spirit. Someone might say, so what men and women are made in the image of God.

More specifically, men and women are made in the image of the triune God, and we also will display the same attribute which is we are equal, and yet we are different.

Our society is trying to neutralize any distinction books the gender war that are going on is really at the heart of it is feminism we have to return back to the image of God. Specially when it comes to marriage, make another statement here. Hopefully you remember it.

Conflict in marriage is a consequence of confusion in order and saying here. This is the wife's fault or this is the husband's fault.

I'm saying both are just as much to be blame conflict in marriage is a consequence of confusion in order where people don't know what is the rule as a husband.

What is the role as a wife. If you want to marriage made in heaven. You need God's divine order in your marriage you equal in every way. And yet you have different roles you so I'm just not to do it. Good luck.

Let me ask you this morning. How is the order in your marriage.

Husband's are you the spiritual leader of your home of your marriage. They know anything about husband being the leader always and is like prop up your feet on the coffee table is a go get me a drink if your daddy did that, if he is in heaven. God bless him, but he was wrong. That's the word means to be a leader. Let me ask you that question again. Are you doing what God has designed you to do. Do you understand your role in your marriage equal but distinct. Are you going, but God's order or by your own ideas and feeling are you say a question ask every week, but if you not save Christ is not the head of your marriage. You may have a decent marriage.

You may have an okay marriage even lost people sometimes are happy. Many times are happy.

That doesn't mean anything because it ends in this life is nothing there to show, but God has something greater in store for Christian marriages, who have Jesus Christ as the head of the home. Three things we can understand this morning and it's a deep message. We got try to understand the border between the father son and the Holy Spirit. What I just shared with you, equal, and yet distinct. Listen again to verse 18. Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Christ because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was his father, making himself equal with God. The religious leaders were angry with him. Not just because the Sabbath miracles, but because he said on equal with the father that Jesus could have attracted that he could've apologizes about… What I really meant to say, but he never did when they pushed him on that matter. He said yes I and the father are one. But then he said something else. In verse 19 he said, I tell you this, the son can do nothing of himself. But what he sees the father to did you just say you are equal but then you can do whatever you want to do is I know yes we are equal, and over not to listen to verse 30 I can of myself do nothing. You're contradicting yourself. Jesus, I can of myself do nothing as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous, because I do not seek my own will but the will of the father who sent me. What is Jesus talking about he is talking about the Trinity. He is equal in essence with the father, but he's not equal in order with the father as the son he is eternally submissive to his authority. I don't have time to go into the spirit maybe another message is coming where the spirit is submissive to the sun and to the father eat heartily. Someone might say, you mean when Jesus became man. That's when he submitted to the father.

No, listen to what it says in John 829 Jesus said what I was stored there in bold. Always do those things that please him always another verse that Paul gives us in first Corinthians 11 three the head of Christ is God, meaning God the father. Jesus was eternally submissive to his father before, during his incarnation, and he will also be submissive to the father in the future is a lot of that even matter but listen to this verse. First first Quinton 1524 Paul says then comes the end, when Jesus delivers the kingdom to God the father, for now the kingdom is in his in charge or he is in charge. Jesus is but one day he's going to give it all back to the father in verse 28 when all things are made subject to Jesus than this, then the son himself will also be subject him who put all things under him, that God may be all and also that the father will be now supreme again.

The sun has always is always and will always be submissive and subordinate to the father before I go to the next point. Here's a question are you submissive to God. Do you know that being like God is learning to submit your ransom note when the Bible tells you to change your lifestyle or do things differently do you do it. I guarantee you none on parts of the people here this morning are not submissive.

You are not Christlike you can say all you want to, but you're not submission means, not my will yours be done. So the order between the father son and the Holy Spirit.

Three are equal. Yet there is a distinction now we come to the second point, the image of God and men and women are. You missed you gotta stay with me may think this is what you going with this. Now we understand what the Trinity is like then were ready to look at what human beings are like it when people try to say what he what human beings are like to what people are like you don't know what people are like and listen understand what God is like the first point helps us understand what God is like three equal, and yet distinct. Now let's look at human beings listen to what he says in Genesis 126 then God said, let us make man in our image, according to our likeness. You see, why did the first one first.

If you don't understand God how do you know his image. If I don't know you how what I know your reflection and if we are his reflection. The next question is in which way are we his reflection. Some people think it is structurally just the way God can think we can think the Bible never talks about that we can feel like God feels we can reason like God reasons, we have a will like God has a will. The Bible doesn't say those things.

Some people think that to be made in the image of God is to be made with the ability to have relationships just like God has relationship only problem. The Bible never tells us that so what does it mean to be made in the image of the triune God is the order between men and women listen to what is says in the rest of the passage after verse 26 let us make man in our image, according to our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. So God created man in his own image.

Listen in the image of God he created him male and female he created them.

Then God blessed them and said, be fruitful, beam, multiply filled the are subduing have dominion over the fish of the sea, and all those creatures twice God says to be made in my image is to rule on my behalf to be made in God's image does not mean to be able to reason or think a will or to have relationships to be made in God's image, according to Genesis 1 is to represent God in this world. Not good room for me. Men and women represent together. The Trinity just like the Trinity, which is three persons equal men and women are also equal in essence listen to what Paul says in Galatians chapter 3 verse 28 there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither was an excellent male nor female. You are all one in Christ Jesus. In first Peter chapter 37 Peter says husbands and wives are heirs to gather of the grace of life to be made in the image of God. Men and women demonstrated the Trinity.

By being equal before God, they know the second point is gonna come just like the Trinity, where there is an order but there is father son and Holy Spirit. There is also an order between men and women. What is this order. Well, how did God created man and woman how to "help me this morning.

How did the creation of human beings began. Did God make Adam and Eve together.

How did God make Adam. How did it make Adam. He made him out of the dust of the earth, and he breathes into him the breath of life and man became a living being. Adam, how did he create Eve.

What does the Bible say listen to Genesis 224 Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him and the Lord God caused a deep sleep to come upon him. She was made from man. First Timothy 213, Paul says four Adam was formed first and then Eve not listen to first Corinthians 11 verse eight from man is not from woman so my mistake and I don't know where you get all the stuff from the Bible how do from poor man is not from woman, but woman from man, nor was man created for the woman but woman for the man I know this sounds like fingernails on chalkboard right now because our culture is so far off this book that truth sounds like a lie you what scholars try to do this. All that's just coming from a male chauvinistic society. Well I don't know which part of the Bible. Would you like to keep. The point is this just like father son and Spirit are equal in essence, but distinct in roles, so also men and women are equal in essence the distinct enroll just like the sun comes internally from the father and the spirit comes internally from the sun and the father saw also the woman derives her life. Our Constitution and her nature from the man. And at this point Natalie is going.

I know a lot of men, I will derive a thing from him men as creatures women as creatures, women derive their nature, Constitution, life, from the man. This is God's divine order.

I know we messed up that order royally – the order in which God has created us. Listen to first Corinthians 11 740 man is the image and glory of God. But woman is the glory of man. You know thing is in our world of ultra feminism and by the way, it's in the church to ladies.

Are you willing to accept the priority given to the man in creation. In order is not mean that women cannot work in public places.

This is not mean that women cannot have businesses and be owners and presidents whatever they want to be know this has nothing do with that is a recognition of the order in which God has created us.

There is a distinction what is happening with all this bathroom stuff in this transgender Gail that what is happening were trying to neutralize all differences when God said there is a distinction in the world is laughing at us because were trying to say no were not. What's worse is that God is laughing at us going.

What are you doing when you change the distinction you're telling your telling God that his image his being is messed up that he is only equal. There is no distinction between the Trinity. We are his reflection. So when you try to neutralize this. You're saying the father the son and the Holy Spirit are equal in the story you get it asked for God's blessing on your life if you're telling God that he is wrong is you made in his image.

Again, this is not have with anything new with women owning businesses or working or getting educate this this is a whole different issue. This is about understanding distinction men are you willing to accept the responsibility given to you to represent God, most men hate to say it, give them a cold one woman from the TV. Then look at a nude magazine and their happy.

This is why I sympathize a lot of ladies because they go you want me to give him first order.

Do you know the man I know in my life there losers. And guess what she is right.

Most men don't deserve the respect that Scripture gives them. It's a shame y'all have messed things up man. This is why I sympathize with the ladies because of the many go look at the ones I have got no courage got no conviction don't have any drive in their life argument: submit for the TV men have a great time party making money. Shame can I add something to it. You're a shame to manhood. Being a man does not mean to push a lady around or go chop people's heads off know it's means to represent God the father. Are you doing that so I get there point when they say and they were right as God so unfair. But here's number three the order between the father son and the Holy Spirit, the image of God and men. Women are here comes the application.

The order between the husband and wife because yes and culture in society in public places in business you can do whatever you want to, but there is a distinction when it comes to the marriage and the church were focusing on the marriage right now. Why is there distinction listen to what Paul says in first Corinthians 11 three but I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, the head of Christ is God. This is where the Trinity and being made in the image of God has application for your marriage but please don't misunderstand this does not mean that every man is head over every woman in this world.

The Bible never says that that's a different culture different religion but a husband is to be the spiritual leader of his home. That's what the passage means.

This is why what a small say in Ephesians 522 wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord Everywoman is not submitted to me or to any man and displacer anywhere only to your own husbands for the husband is head of the wife is also Christ is head of the church. Paul brings up another analogy, the Christ and the church analogy in many homes there is a constant struggle about who's in charge was a husband's responsibility. Listen to Ephesians 5 verse 25 husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for this kind of leadership is not telling going home and saying go go fix me some lead spiritual leadership means you should be up front saying this is how were going to lead our home in God's way. Would you like to know what most men do even give the clear agreement when a better name… Not even is not fool ourselves. When men get this message. They go home, the person is were all staying home from church today because God wants us to give priority to our home and family life. The first thing most men do is they sit back and say let's find a way not to obey God know I'm in charge this with alive things whatever reason, but inside she is saying this is not how it's supposed to be.

You should be up front saying let's serve God with a glad heart. Now I finally get what I'm supposed to. Most men do this the opposite and they call me up and say you know I made a decision as spiritual leader. We felt like we did have some family time. We haven't had a family time lately, so we decided to stay home from church were among and husbands. When you understand this, you begin to give honor to your wife as the weaker vessel and as being heirs together of the grace of life that your prayers may not be hindered means if I am dishonoring to my wife if I am rude to her.

If I'm demanding and stubborn in a most men think leadership means stubborn as this are the daddy doing that leadership means what be the first in the line to say I will serve God first. As for me and my household, we will serve God and if you don't do the right way. The Bible says God will not hear your prayers. This is why many of your pray for things and never come through because you are mistreating your wife. Here's the final word to both husband and wife listen. Ephesians 533 nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, folks, I'm telling you, true Christianity is so beautiful as the aberrations. It is, is the legalistic junk in some denominations and some churches that give us a bad rap, true Christianity is beautiful with a husband loves his wife as himself, I'm praying I'm praying a lot of single ladies in this world and the church and Christianity.

I'm praying please God, send some godly man about to the wife and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Don't talk down about him. Don't cut them down in public. Don't betray his trust, respect your husband what would happen if we did things in God's way were living in a culture that hates submission and that hates responsibility. Are you as wives, are you being submissive to your husband spiritual leadership and men are you leaning your wives spiritually. Your you should be up front in prayer in obedience in giving and serving your back here and she is the one doing everything you want a marriage made in heaven. You start behaving like the Trinity, because you are made in the image of God is not mean that marriage will not have problems. It does not mean that you will not go through ups and down the one be a crossword yes you will have those things. But when you do the weight you were designed to be is so beautiful for the children for the community for the world to see. There is a family that is reflecting God.

The one thing I will say how close you can do this on your own if you decide today okay I'm describing a good spiritual leader and and I'll be the goods submissive. What unit is not going to work, you can end up in some kind of aberration some wrong.

Understanding some bad theology. You need the Holy Spirit when he asked the Holy Spirit help you help me to be what I've been designed to be what we have been designed to be all of a sudden he will help you and he will guide you in the truth.
