You see, every time Jesus did a miracle or spoke the truth. These demonic hordes they fell and so here what Paul is saying is because Jesus did what he came to do all of these fallen beings bowed before him.

They fell before him, but now here comes the key verse for us today, and that every tongue should confess what you read with me that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the father to see what that means but here's a question. Is Jesus Christ the Lord of your life. Is he in control.

Is he calling the shots in your life are you being obedient to him and has there ever been a time in your life when you made him your Lord when you asked him to save you to take over. You've never done that. Ask him right now. Verse 11 once again on the screen and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the father.

That simple statement Jesus Christ is Lord, was probably the earliest confession of the church. It doesn't matter how much you love and serve other people. If you do not proclaim with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, you will die in your sins, you will face eternity in hell. There is no substitute. This is the key to salvation. This is not about a Baptist or Methodist or Anglican or Roman Catholic or any other a Christian denomination. This is across-the-board.

You have to believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, and then you are saved is the key to salvation but something else we find in first Corinthians chapter 12 in verse three. Again, Paul says therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed and no one listen to this and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

It means this not only is that statement Jesus Christ is Lord. The key to our salvation, but also Jesus Christ as Lord is the assurance of our salvation. How do you know that you're safe. Can you say Jesus Christ is Lord, and I'm not just saying words do you really believe that do you really believe in your caller being that Jesus Christ is Lord. That's the assurance of your salvation in no one and nothing can take that away from you so I know the question you have, this morning is what exactly is Jesus Christ as Lord will begin to see that we see what that word Lord really means. What does it mean the word Lord is the Greek word Coriolis Korea loss is an ancient Greek word and it meant someone who had authority or control over others. It also had the meaning of superiority. They use the word courtyards in the Greek translation of the Old Testament, and over 6000 times. Guess what that word is used for is the translation of the Hebrew word Yahweh. Yahweh was awarded Yahweh mean Lord God. It was a name for God and the Jewish people would not say that name.

In fact, when they would come to the Hebrew partner when they would come into the Hebrew Old Testament across the word Yahweh either goes silent or there was substituted with another word which was at her and I and I which is taken from the valves between that word. Yahweh so they would use that were either Yahweh or Ed or not, but here's something interesting when those Jewish people who were translating the Hebrew Old Testament into Greek. Every time they came across Yahweh or Adonijah. They use the word Cotillard's Coolio's know is that mean for us will in the New Testament once again we find the word Coolio's. You see, I want you here carefully to first Corinthians chapter 8 and verse six. Listen carefully. As noted in the screen but listen. Paul says yet for us there is one God the father of our all things and we for him so strictly. We are monotheists.

There are no three gods is only one God, but not listen to what Paul says in the very and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we live. You and I may have trouble with this, but the Jewish people. The first believers who were strict monotheists. There is only one God had no problem with the fact that there is one God and yes, Jesus is Lord doesn't make sense does it, but it made all the sense to them and other people might be sitting here today who who don't believe that Jesus is God you believe that Jesus is a good man. You may believe that Jesus is a wonderful man, but you don't believe that he is God.

He listen if you don't believe that Jesus is God you are lost and you will die in your sins. Jesus is not semi-God. He is not demigod. He is equal with the father informed, but if you think that we worship two and three gods know we worship only one God.

In fact, after Jesus rose from the grave he met the disciples within.

There was one disciple who doubted who was he, Thomas and Jesus made a special trip for Thomas. Previously they only prayed to God, but now they are praying to Jesus if he ever read Paul's letters he said on praying to the Lord Jesus Christ.

They called upon Jesus in the midst of difficulties that would invoke his presence. They sang songs to Jesus.

You know the Jewish people would never sing songs to an angel they would never sing songs to Moses. So Jeremiah or David, but now they were singing songs of worship to Jesus why because he's God. He is Korea loss something else. The did John the Baptist when he was baptizing.

You can have good days and bad days, but at the end of the day you have to obey what he tells me. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church. Well, you know, I'm just a man.
