The Baptist Bible. Lord, no comes to you under the direction of Elder Lucero Bradley Junior will and Brady Junior inviting you to stay tuned for another message of God's sovereign grace of a C will and in and will and will will all see a and C will be will all will and all will all all and will I am very thankful when people write and tell me how God used the truths that we presented from his word make a difference in their life.

If indeed the Lord has blessed you as we bring these messages from God's word would appreciate hearing from you. Our address is the Baptist Bible. Auerbach, 17 old, 37, Cincinnati, OH 45217 a few years ago I brought a message entitled a battle you cannot win. Use that same title today because it fits the subject matter that we want to look at going to the book of first Peter chapter 5, we recently preached on the seventh first casting all your care upon him care for you and use in conjunction with that thinking him.

I was tell Jesus we want to look at a couple of verses proceeding that going back to verse five. Likewise, the number, submit yourselves of the elder yay all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. We don't care a warning given God. Resist the proud that means God opposes the proud person who is proud and embarks on a course of activity that seems right in their own eyes must face the fact that they have engaged in the battle they cannot win the book of Proverbs chapter 6 beginning in the 16th verse, these six things the Lord hate the 87 are an abomination to him a proud look lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood and heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaketh lies and he did so with discord among the brethren. God hates a proud look, a proud look, indicates that there is a proud part and it says clearly that God hates it. The Gospel of Luke chapter 1 reading of the 51st verse he had shown strength with his arm. He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He have put down the mighty from their seats and exalted them of low degree scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts proud make their plans.

They have their goals in life. God says that he will scatter them, he will destroy them. He will bring to an end. All of their idle boasting it put down the mighty from their seats. History certainly confirms this fact. Over and over again God dealt very forcibly with those who were proud and exalted themselves.

We see a vivid example that the children of Israel were coming out of Egyptian bondage and Pharaoh determined to send his army after them and bring them Pharaoh set himself against God, but he did not win Exodus chapter 15/3 verse the Lord is a man of war, the Lord is his name. You declare war on God to make the Lord is man-of-war and he will always win Pharaoh's chariots and his host petty cash into the sea is chosen. Captains also are drowned in the city's have covered them. They sank into the bottom as a stone by right-hand the Lord has become glorious in power by right hand on Lord – in pieces the enemy. So Pharaoh set himself against God. Remember he originally said when Moses came, saying that God demanded that the people be let go and he said, who is the Lord that I should obey him, not recognizing the one true and living God, and now he sets himself against God against God's people against God's demands and what's the result the Lord's hand is against him and Pharaoh supposed he had dashed in pieces we see another example in the case of King Saul. Saul had been told to go out against the enemy and destroy them.

Sounds strange that I know some people in our day.

Why would God tell his people to oppose some of the nation and wipe them out when the fact is, they were idolaters in the long God's 10,000 have no other gods before me. Because they were violators of God law it was according to God's holiness that they should receive just what was coming to them because of their rebellion and sin, but Saul failed to do explicitly what God said 20% of chapter 15 we read in the 13th verse and Samuel came to Saul and said it again. Blessed be thou of the Lord. I have performed the commandment of the Lord as the prophet Samuel comes to meet the king Saul has exited to say I have performed what God expected of me sick but is bold enough to say I have a way I've done when I'm supposed to do and Saul said they have brought them from the Amalekites for the people spared the best of the sheep that immediately. Some blame shifting is that the people spared going to take full responsibility, the people spared the best of the sheep and oxen for what purpose the sacrifice of the Lord thy God, and the rest we have utterly destroyed Sanderson of the Saul stay and I will take only what the Lord has said to me this night and he said unto him, say all.

And Samuel said when that was a little in thine own site was now not made had the tribes of Israel in the Lord and on the king of Israel is another important lesson for us is that when you were little in your own site.

God exalted you and made you king all how important for us to remain little in our own site as we get to the place we think we have progressed so that we have such insight.

We have such knowledge about whatever needs to be done and were ignoring the plain teaching of God's word were going according to my personal desires are on instinct destruction comes from the Lord sent me on the journey. That said, go, and utterly destroy the sinners Amalekites and fight against them until they become soon, wherefore land which thou not obey the voice of the Lord, but upon the spoil and it's evil in the sight of the Lord. Saul said in the sand. Yay I have obeyed the voice of the Lord and have gone the way in which the Lord sent me at about a gag.

The king of Amalek, and have other utterly destroyed the Amalekites, but the people took the spoiled sheep and oxen. The chief of things which are the been utterly destroyed the sacrifice of the Lord my God in yoga and Samuel said at the Lord great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord hold to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fabric done messing with saying the man offered to the Lord. But God did not just save these for the sacrifice he said to like all a sent to destroy the people to destroy the animals you haven't got it. You have no right to say I'm going to change what God commanded to do it my way because it seemed good to me seem like a good idea that we can offer these as a sacrifice to God. No matter how great the sacrifice that you might make. You might decide here's a project upon which I should embark his work that you do is not one that God has designated you may pick a particular tax because you think you're going to get some praise of man, you're going to receive recognition for its just something of your own personal interest, but is not what God has designated to obey is better than sacrifice for rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and I think what a person sets himself against the clear ration of God's word for sadness work for me. I think that's outdated apply in our time actually think is as witchcraft and the word you set yourself up as an idol God.

I think the Bible is a good book has a lot of good things with just you make yourself because you're dictating now as to what is right and what is wrong what is acceptable and what is not acceptable because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord. He had also rejected the from being seen. The end result. Saul decided I can do it my way seems reasonably pleased with sacrifice with an offer. What would please God is doing what comes to the Lord lost the battle. He could not win and therefore the kingdom was taken from the big talk much about King Nebuchadnezzar.

In the fourth chapter the book of Daniel.

When he stood there viewing his kingdom. So this is my kingdom of God about my life my power for my glory was all about himself, the Lord some of the words we get in his mouth that the kingdom was taken from him, and he was brought down from the throne to eat grass like the beast he could not win. In the book of acts for the people commented at the end of the speech he gave sounds like a God he didn't object it pleased him.

Obviously he was true and that somebody thought about him in such a high station that have no other gods before me in the battle that he could not, God sent worms inside his body to consume him. So we went about the warnings for us today. It says that God will resist or oppose the program.

Think about some things that can affect your life. My service even terrible procedure of those Old Testament times, men like Pharaoh and Saul Nasser hair. These were proud man indeed certain I'm not guilty of that kind of arrogance. No real pride in me look at some details about what the Scripture say concerning pride. Not that there's a bit of it in your but there are indeed some warnings given applicable to us today. First of all, God will not hear your prayer song 66 verse 18 says if I regard iniquity in my heart. The Lord will not hear.

So if you're guilty of pride you are exalting yourself your respecting your own opinions or desires above that which God has laid out in his word.

God will not.

That would look at the book of first Peter chapter 37 when talking about the responsibility of wives who have an unbelieving husband and how they should conduct themselves, not by what they say they do. Having a meeting with clients.

You will find many places in our culture today where people are given counsel to say that they meet and quiet spirit because of a lack.

But God says that it's acceptable in his sight. Now after that dissertation that runs from verse one through verse six, the seventh verse says likewise the husband's dwell with them according to knowledge you would do everything you can't understand your wife and live with her in a way that you are supporting her, encouraging her helping her giving honor unto the wife is on the weaker vessel as being heirs together of the grace of life that your prayers be not the husband and wife were constantly bickering. There is an German spirit between them and yet they might say what we're praying about the matter were praying that God was. We might want to quit as long as you're fighting got a note in your prayer prayer convention about you first need to repent. You need to change your attitude, your spirit, your action, your interaction with one another. Next, God will not prosper you. If you're walking in pride.

God is not prosper you in any area of your life. It may be a setback from a financial standpoint as far as far as material things are concerned again. Chapter 1 verse six he have so much and bring in little eat. But you have not enough. You drink, but you're not filled with bring you clothing you but there is none warm and he'd earned wages. Wages to put into a bag with whole thus saith the Lord of hosts. Consider your way? I just got a big in her work harder.

I seem to be getting behind other people seem to be prospering more than I do. What is the problem. Work work work what you're putting your wages in the bag with whole bring in the money but it shouldn't go living just from month to month. Barely getting by. It make me that the sin of pride is the problem God will deal with any who walk in Proverbs chapter 13, the 15th verse says good understanding given favor, but the way of transgressors is our way of transgressors is I can think back over the years of people with whom I have counseled that when we reached the point that they were resisting. They rejected. I did want to hear what God's words and I've often use this verse as my parting comment, but the way of transgressors is far that continue.

I've seen that unfold time and time again in a person's life. I want to do it that way at one time and say what I decided to leave the Bible like to change everything. If, and only the Bible and I'm not obligated over and over again. You can see this text unfolding the way of transgressors is hard.

If you are a child of God, you are walking in pride God will deal the book of Hebrews chapter 12 verse six for whom the Lord loveth each patient and scourges every son whom he receives. If ye endure chastening, God be with you as sons.

For what son is he whom the father chased God will not have his children walk in pride. Continue with a disobedient with the spirit is one of his in his due time in his way he will chasten. He would deal with the question I may come to mind. Just so how would you describe a person is walking in pride. Obviously, nobody hears want to be engaged in some of the activities that we observed in these Old Testament examples about us well proud our friends of the world.

The book of James chapter 4 verse one from points, rewards and findings among you, I would talk about engaging in a battle that you cannot win.

What about the war for about the conflicts. What about the battles within the marriage. What about the conflicts among friends, electrons, and sometimes invade churches from which come wars and findings among you, come they not hence, even of your lusts war in your members. Your desire's your desire to have your way, your desire that you may always be able to execute your plan, yourself, will your selfish illustrated you desire and have not the keel and desire to have an cannot obtain he fight in war, yet you have not because he asked not verse four Ye adulterers and adulteresses no not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God. Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God equitably person becomes enamored with the world. I want to fit in the will to be like everybody else I will be accepted to the concert which is living on the other focuses on gaining material things, making a name for themselves. Getting ahead said you become the friend of the world and you at that moment I become the enemy of God proud our friends of the world, the proud are full of complaints. This is one way that it becomes evident that a person is walking in pride because they are a constant complaint of first Corinthians chapter 10. Neither Marie and some of them also murmured destroyed of the destroyer of us are talking about the experience of the children of Israel, and over time they murmured they complain and were destroyed of the destroyer. Now all of these things happened unto them for an sample and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world. So these experiences of Old Testament times are not there. Just as a historical record, but they are there for our example for our benefit, that we might learn from them to revision were complaining complaining.

They were having nothing to eat.

God provided that the matter complaining after a while because I got tired of the matter complaining constantly in their tracks, proud person feels I'm entitled more than what I have my life to be smooth things out for me so that constantly complaining the complainer gives evidence that is full of pride in the powder often unhappy with their circumstances and their present position in life feel like I should have reached a higher plane but this time about this still be worker my job out to be the boss and they're very happy that the fact that they're not there. Mariam complained about Moses complain because he had married an Ethiopian woman also complain because she said does not send all of his messages through Moses Lake about me and Mariam became worse the closer she said half the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses.

He not spoken also by us, not willing to accept her role not willing to appreciate Moses as the God appointed leader is the one through whom God was speaking. She wanted more. She was not happy with her position was full of pride. All the all in the Mariam was unhappy with her position, which showed that she did not have a humble spirit. Yes the Scripture is very explicit that God resists the proud judgment came upon Marion because of her rebellious attitude but we remember the promise that he gives grace to the humble. Humble ourselves for the Lord, knowing that we are unworthy of the least of his mercies and that we want to be surrendered in all things is to a writing assignment for next week at the same time that the Lord richly bless the Baptist Bible lowers come to you under the direction of Elder Lucero Bradley Junior address all mail to the Baptist Bible Lord Cincinnati, OH 45217.
