Our glad you joined us today mention again that the church anniversary month as we completed 67 years on the air like to be able to send you our special anniversary packet with two CDs, one a message about the glory of God, and another containing 14 hams, many of which you've heard on the program and if you requested, we will send you the current issue of our publications, in which there are articles pertaining to this theme. The glory of God. Our address is the Baptist Bible.

Our Box 1737, Cincinnati, OH 45217. If you love someone you want to be with them and you want to know that they want to be with you.

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ. You are one of his. He not only loves you. He desires to be with. He is praying for that to happen, and someday it will is not comforting to know that he has prayed for you and still the because he is our intercessor, our great high priest. As we look once more. John chapter 17 would come today to the 24th verse. I know you have realized this time as we gone verse by verse through this chapter that this prayer that Jesus offered to his father is very unique very outstanding contain some marvelous truths that are of great comfort to us in this verse we look at now.

John 1724 stands out as one that to me is indeed remarkable father. I will also, whom thou hast given me the with me where I that they may behold my glory, for when thou hast given me, for thou loves me before the foundation of the world.

Jesus is praying not only for those disciples who were present with him but for those who would ultimately believe their word so if you are a believer you were included in that prayer he was praying for you long ago, even as he does continually as they intercessor in heaven. Let's first note the people for whom he practice this emphasis is made throughout the prayer verse two, as thou hast given him power over all flesh that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast. This is the point that is repeatedly my peace. Praying for those that the father had given him. Verse six. I have manifested thy name of the man which thou gavest me out of the world.

Verse nine. I pray for them. I pray not for the world. Look for them which thou hast given me, for they are mine. Verse 11 and now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world and I come to the holy father keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one as we are verse 12, but I was within the world.

I kept them in thy name. Those that now gavest me I have And then the text of today.

Verse 24 father will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I may select the repetition. But remember the one speaking is Jesus never spoke not a word, everything that he said was exactly what needed to be said what was in harmony with the will of his father.

What would bring glory to the father's name. So this great emphasis on the fact that he's praying for those that were given to him by the father, something we need to understand Jesus had a special affection for those that were given to him because they were the gift of the father. The love gift of the father to get some that he might have of people and be with them for not only is this point made with great emphasis in this prayer, but at other times Jesus made reference to it as well. John chapter 6, verse 37 all that the father giveth me shall come to me and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast talk about the ones were given to him by the father that can come to be drawn effectually with the power of the Holy Spirit. The good news is the one that comes out when no wise cast out.

Verse 39 and this is the father's will, which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again the last day we go to chapter 10. Talking about Shepherd and the sheep.

Verse 29. My father, which gave the me, is greater than all and no man is able to pluck them out of my father's so there can be no question but Jesus is praying for those that were given only by the father of the next question the make of the Bible who are these are the they are those that were chosen for the file select seams become a lot of leg. Is there an over emphasis on note, we are not emphasizing it in more than it is emphasized in this prayer talking about those that were the gift of the father to the son belonged to the father.

They were his. Of course my creation with the refusal especially unique way because they were chosen. Ephesians chapter 1 verse four according as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world. We should be fully and without blame him in love. He chose us making it perfectly clear that the basis and because of our salvation is not any worse for Mary and us, not the action of man's free will of the display of divine and sovereign grace. Father was under no obligation to save a single soul to get a pass by the entire human family and left them in their fallen state as result of Adam's sin, but was according to his purpose that he would save a multitude to make a choice for them and gave them to his son. Romans chapter 8 verse 29 emphasizes the same truth, for whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the firstborn among many. What's the purpose of God and predestination to make the people like Christ are some people who have difficulty with it become uncomfortable when you talk about the document that the Bible is a doctor that honors God is a doctrine that reveals the purpose of the plan of God. The design of God to take a multitude out of the fallen corruption for the race of man and ultimately make them like his son Jesus's amazing grace in which we should rejoice. Moreover whom he did predestinate let me also call to call them he also justified and whom he justified, them he also there is a change of grace, extending from eternity past down some time, which is to come in all of those who the children are called the call are justified. This clearly indicates that although the recall were not just invited to is not just a beckoning that they might come this calling is my irresistible grace. This is an effectual call. He said thy people shall be living in the day of thy power in our human nature according to Isaiah chapter 53, we have turned everyone to our own way. We work seeking God you are inclined to come to him describe as a matter fact in the book of Romans as being the very enemy of God. But God through his people to himself and these ultimately are to be God's plan was not to make salvation a possibility but to make it a certainty. Would you see in these passages. In the everything about this life is somewhat uncertain. Things are constantly changing but this which God designed in purpose before time began is a firm foundation upon which we can rest with absolute confidence every person that God intends to save will please say one sold superiors that was embraced in this covenant between the father, the son of the Holy Spirit order to ensure before time. One thing that makes it so remarkable is when we consider the five that these two are the chosen.

And these were given to the sun or falling ruling centers Romans chapter 3 verse 23 said for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Not one soul can claim to be exempt from that fall and cursed the team upon Adam and his posterity as a result of the rebellion that took place in the Garden of Eden were born with a sinful nature think them, the holy God God because of his very character must take sin. I must punish sin and see that justice is carried out within say I'm going to say a great portion of fallen treatment. The fifth chapter the book of Romans verse 10 says, for if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God with the death of his son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by we were his enemy.

We did not love God also somewhat loving preacher.

I love God all my life. I continue this.

If that's the case of God work in your heart as you were a young child was because your heart is more tender than that of someone else.

We love him because he first love us these long initiated fees on plans and purposes salvation. That's reasonable and it's all consummated. According to the text we just ran Romans chapter 8 when the Saints are glorified. They then resurrected. Their bodies are conformed to the image of Jesus Christ I with him in heaven there be nobody there who would dare take any credit, no boasting all the glory goes to the Lamb slain to see the people for whom he primes and then we see it is his will to be his will. Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me the with me where the 14th chapter. When Jesus was speaking words of consolation to his disciples because they were alarmed they would disturb the thought that Jesus was going to go away I could imagine how they could continue in the work they've been totally dependent upon him for the three years of ministry, but he says let not your heart be troubled you believe in God believe also in me.

In my father's house are many mansions if it were not so I would've told you. I go to prepare a place for you and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there may be there when we read this fact in our text in John 17, not something new.

Jesus is repeating what you already said previously to the disciples to consult. I go to prepare a place for that I would come back I'm going to receive you that I you going to be.

Also, you go to be with me. This separation is only temporary, where ultimately to be together. What comfort to know then that none of the elect not to redeem not one single believer will fail to enter Jesus is where I am. That's where you go to me. Let's turn the book of Revelation chapter 19.

Get some insight as to what goes on in heaven.

Some strange ideas in all kinds of fanciful notions about what they suspect Kevin like when here's some clear information. Revelation 19 verse seven let us be glad and rejoice and give honor to him for the marriage of the Lamb is calm and his wife has made herself the marriage supper of the Lamb. The church of the firstborn, those for whom he gave himself here to be united to him in marriage. Verse nine. Any sample enemy right.

Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith enemy. These are the true sayings of God.

So it certainly reveals to us that there is going to be a close vital relationship between Jesus Christ and those who are his people describe as a marriage. The marriage supper of the Lamb. What what what a remarkable outlook no better place to be than in the presence of Jesus Christ. You may have plans yet for some kind of trip or a vacation this year it's good to have a little time to get away and relax.

Think about how wonderful being when we get to the mountains. How wonderful. When we get to the ocean. Think about some spectacular site some beautiful places in our nation, and indeed it's pleasant to see someone, particularly when you recognize the heavenly father is the create tour and he's a one night stand.

All his splices. It's pleasant to be hopeless, pleasant to be with your family. Sad to say, in this day either. Many families in person with much conflict with your family is a God honoring family of Jesus Christ is recognized in spite of whatever differences and difficulties may arise from time to time. There's no place that you read the than with your family and hopefully as you've assembled here today to worship God in something that you anticipate and look forward to all the week mother distractions a lot of pressures a lot of things can be disturbing just dealing with the day-to-day problems which you think I'm looking forward to being there to be able to meet with those of like mind to join my voice in seeing the wonderful hymns of prime exalt Jesus Christ to hear his word to hear the gospel not heard the gospel story many times that I need to hear again. I need to be reminded of and have the fellowship of the saints. It's it's it's a blessing.

It's a delightful place to be.

And the thing that makes it special is indeed if we can sense the Jesus Christ himself has been with us that he has blessed the city has blessed the program is blessed the production he's blessed the fellowship to be where the Lord is present something beyond that to be in the presence of Jesus Christ to see him as he was to be able to look into his face to the holders in these neck for bodies when John perceives that these are the glory of Christ follow as he fell at his feet to take any time to be present with the Lord. And is it not amazing that he wants you to be safe to be there with the marriage supper of the Lamb to experience Creighton joy, satisfaction, be in his presence for why would Jesus be with me? Look at ourselves. We share failings and certainly not the almost embarrassed to be in his presence because of think about how many times I've failed many times I've come short. But when you realize the object of his love and his redemptive work at the proxies put the legacy that he doesn't view you in your neck from state he views you through the righteousness that he is provided said I want to be with you.

It's just an overwhelming talk to me well on in general. Guess he wants to be with his church was to be with his body wants to be with his people. But if you are a believer. He wants to be with you.

He wants to be with you children may say I don't understand all this God has touched your heart sing herself the center you come to believe on Jesus you want to be as you are you and some of you once recognize your time remaining is a whole lot shorter than the time the board in good to know. As you near the end of life journey that Jesus wants to be with you and that's your hope that you come to the end be with you somehow want to be with me where I am now as he spoke these words he was actually in Jerusalem but he obviously wasn't expressing a desire for them to ultimately meet their Jerusalem. He knew that shortly he was going to be in heaven the crucifixion was at hand is going to die, but it was one of the raise from the dead.

It was on the sand and go back to him at 20s talk about. I want to be with me even asked where he is today. Return the book of acts chapter 2 verse 11.

Here they went out to view Jesus on the mountain chapter 1 rather acts chapter 1 verse 11 which also say the men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven.

This same Jesus, which is taken up from you in the heaven. Well, so come in like manner as you have seen him go. What an experience that is been dejected, following the death of Jesus when he was raised from the deity, putting several appearances to them and they were encouraged to know Jesus is alive during those next days I saw him several times now the time of his ascension and drawn near they see him as his feet began to lift off the earth and is rising higher and higher and higher NESN's in both of the clouds and the angel says are you gazing at you seemed always comes back. So we have the assurance today that when Jesus is I want to be with me to talk about being with him where he is. Acts chapter 7 Stephen was being stoned because he had faithfully proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ says in the 55th verse, but he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing on the right we read elsewhere were Jesus was sitting on the right hand of God. He was standing indicating that he was standing up related to welcome home. His martyr served his time standing on the right hand of God and said to hold.

I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God Stephen Sullivan before he ever got that one awake while the stones are key wanted to bring about his for his spirit of his body, he saw frustrated and saw Jesus standing on remarkable over the messages we are bringing you this month are connected with this theme of the glory of God, and I hope that today's message has been a blessing to you.

We encourage you to write that we can send you our anniversary packed with two CDs.
