“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do; and the God of peace shall be with you” (Philippians 48-9).

The Baptist Bible lower known comes to you under the direction of Elder Lucero Bradley Junior, pastor of the Cincinnati primitive Baptist Church will and this is Mr. Bradley Junior inviting you to stay tuned for another message of God's sovereign grace will and I and and and and and and and and will and and and and and will receive from people from time to time and say I been listening to you for many years. The first time I've ever written. You may be like one of those individuals and I would encourage you to write another snow that you're there.

And for those of you who write and support the program on a regular basis. I want you to know we certainly appreciate your help. Our address is the Baptist Bible. Our box 17 oh 37, Cincinnati, OH 45217. Today we bring the second part of the message entitled, what's on your mind. The text is Philippians chapter 4 verse eight says finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things in this message.

We have gone into some detail about Satan's devices to deceive and to distract us that our thinking would not be in harmony with God's truth but now are looking at Paulo's thankless which gives us guidance about how we should think in other areas you find Satan with his deceptive devices pulling people in to a late way of thinking that leads him down the wrong path. Words are to be true. If we are to think on that which is true then what we say the beach person who is constantly making up things as they go along and I forget their own story.

Under a lot of pressure to try to remember what I say about this yesterday, fix the story to make it sound reasonable to speak the truth of Ephesians chapter 4 verse 25 says wherefore putting away last week Everyman the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another Jesus and of the sun on the Mount in Matthew chapter 5 verse 37 like your communications of the EA EA may words talking about taking an oath since it is necessary to take an oath you like.

Maybe you say something this the truth is you say this is not so that you gave me at your yes be yes. You know me know speak the truth and think on those things that are honest, you can wear yourself out, thinking about all of the dishonesty that prevailed in the land today but where think about those things that are honest, honorable, worthy of respect. No ties your you think about those things that are promised in the third thing whatsoever things are just that it was those things that are right. Things are righteous think, according to God's standard. That's what we going to find out what's right here a lot of different opinions but God's word is authoritative misgivings by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and right thinking delete the right living is thinking wrong influenced by some of the modernistic thinking about time for longer start making compromises in the way that you live in a way to keep talking what to read what you look at where you go, your whole way of life is influenced by what think, but if you're focusing on that which is just that which is right that which is righteous thinking about that you're reading about Victor studying it, it will lead right next he says, think on, whatsoever things are pure now in Psalm 14 we get a description of fallen man, which reveals it is impure. The fool has said in his heart there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that verse three there all alone aside there altogether become filthy. There is none that do with good not now.

I can understand how a person doesn't believe in the true and living God doesn't embrace the Bible as being of authority would reap that and say well soon terribly negative declaration is not to say that homicide that all on the wrong direction. They become filthy with sugar from the Kingman standpoint, there are those who don't know God that can do some charitable deed would be commendable, but is talking here about your standing before God. All of us by nature related to the fallen parent Adam are born with a simple nature.

Therefore, he says there's no good, no not one that's called with the apostle Paul in the third chapter the nobody that can claim that their life is commendable and go to be acceptable in God's sight and that their conduct will therefore be accurate to take them just the opposite is true. They have become filthy by what we talk about boxes think of the things that are pure well the inclination of human nature to think on that which is to because he says they have become filthy in their thinking and their conduct, but what a contrast for the believer person is been made a new creature in Christ Jesus hates ungodliness is deeply grieved 20 falters and fails struggles with the conflict with the possible settlement elected man that I am coaching from the body of this this conflict goes on, but at the same time, the person who's a believer in Jesus Christ embraces his word makes a difference in how I live his life.

First John chapter 3 verse three and Everyman that had this hope in him purifies himself without talking back thinking about that which is pure, the man that has this hope talking to myself about the hope of the second coming of Jesus Christ. The person to believe Jesus Christ is coming back has this hope in him purifies himself, even if she is leaving in the second coming of Christ to have a practical influence on my life and my going to be living my life the rest of this day. Tomorrow, next week.

With that thought in mind SS for the day that Jesus Christ returns if, on any given day next week. Would I be rejoicing that is here RB somewhat embarrassed that he found me walking in for the S many speaks of those things that are lovely, whatsoever things are lovely things that are pleasing those things that are commendable. Those things that are gracious. There's so much ugliness in the ungodly world and also that we just happen to be lovely is not bad at all. Weird to think on those things that are lovely and then things of good report, things of good report. Well certainly benefit thinking on things of good report, you don't want to give an evil report a report that is not true but you gotta think about that report before you get it.

So that means you want to be honest you are, tell the truth and therefore you don't want to be thinking on evil report think on things. Things of report that which is right that which is true, that which is on that which is document that occupy your mind dwell on the Medicaid opponent rejoice in it. See an example of people who gave an evil report and the results of the book of Numbers chapter 13 verse 32 and they brought up an evil report of the land which they had shirts unto the children of the understand this being the spies that were sent over to disbar me. They came back with an evil report saying the land through which we have gone to search it is a land that even the inhabitants thereof, and all the people he saw in an armed man of great stature.

So out of the 12 spies. There were 10 of them. That said, get the cities are walled up in the sky. The giants in the land is no way we can take it with her job. They brought back an evil report and the people listen to the majority only to faithful men, Joshua and Caleb said let's go up at once and take it because God has promised us have this see that evil report influenced the whole nation and as a result, they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years since listening to an evil report can have a devastating effect on your life. It can influence you to go down the wrong path can influence you to make decisions that are not honorable and not pleasing to God. James chapter 4 verse 11 says speak not evil.

One of another.

Weird to think on those things are of good report, and not seek to bring an evil report, even against any concludes that section by saying if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, William Hendrickson, in his commentary expresses it like this, anything at all. That is a matter of moral and spiritual excellence so that it is the proper object of praise is the right texture for the Christian mind. Gracie nothing that is of a contrary nature is the right food is a beta versions of any praise, which indeed, there is that those of the things that occupy her have actually had people say to me some time with talk about this verse. I'm having difficulty going to us things qualified with those things they with Robinson many things because he uses the terminology whatsoever things are so many of them out there is one thing sure Jesus Christ is the embodiment of qualities. So if your thought is on Christ you can fulfill all of these admonitions, think on those things are true, what John 14 six Jesus saith unto him, hi, I am the way the truth and the life no man cometh under the father but by me.

The way the truth so for thinking that Jesus Christ you thinking on that one. That is true, and he emphasizes the point that no man comes to the father except by me. Just try. Chapter 9 verse nine rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion shaft thought of Jerusalem the whole black king cometh under the he is just and having salvation lowly and riding opponent Hassan upon the quote the full so the prophetic reference concerning the coming of Jesus Christ when he comes, rejoice, daughter of Zion shall be glad because he's coming, he's just finished bringing salvation Jesus Christ qualifies in all of these categories is truth is just his poor Hebrews chapter 7 verse 26 for such an high priest became us, who is only powerless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the ears, undefiled, so he is thinking on Jesus Christ your thinking about one who is perfectly pure, lovely song of Solomon chapter 15 chapter 5 verse 16 he is all together. Lovely.

The pride here has enumerated several qualities of her beloved and then gives this summary key is all together since the church is the bride of Christ. We believe that it is appropriate that she, the church exclaims concerning Christ's P is altogether left then of good report. Think of the things are of good report, Isaiah chapter 9 verse six says his name shall be called wonderful Counselor, mighty God, the everlasting father. The report, that word was given forever came next. The prophet speaking this man is coming Savior is going to be born. His name's Nicole wonderful. Think about how many things in the ungodly world. They are not wonderful in all but you know that we have a Savior who is wonderful and he's wonderful today. Maybe one tomorrow is the same yesterday today and forever, and that his name is called counselor so we need help. We need guidance. We need information. Where were going to get it. He's our counselor. He's a mighty God we need strength we find it in GMC's everlasting father he's from everlasting to everlasting.

He's the Prince of peace. Your name basically going to find you go to find it in him so in all of these categories are defined.

The areas about which we are to occupy it, thinking Jesus Christ is the one who embodies it all.

Then verse nine we see the need to put this what you learn those things which you have both learned and received and heard and seen in me to, and the God of peace shall be what we learned in this entire passage flipping chapter 4 on the fourth verse going to the ninth verse we see that we are to pray right. That prayer involves supplication. It involves making a request known with thanksgiving so easy to leave that but that's an essential part of and to think right which would just observed here in the eighth verse and nine verse nine it says you to write what's the general theme is telling us to rejoice all way in the Lord is telling us to be careful for nothing and that maybe carefree and careless.

As far as ignoring the responsibilities with only full of care. Do not worry, I don't avoid that is telling you how to pray. Right before the think right you going these things that a man working with Montana and over this passage says I just have terrible struggle with worry estimates Google passage lovely book so I gave him as a homework assignment to read these verses and write down what he understood about them and to tell me how it worked in his Qubec next week and could tell he just about half disgusted, but the paper down the desk so it didn't work. Richard then work as a limited work. I went to the whole thing and I didn't get any of you missed part of verse nine as that little to letter word to and that means practice, practice. You don't just go through it one time and say I know." One time is a God word on says practice it a day. You keep making a request known. You keep going back to Paul's thinking is to be sure you're thinking right practice. This so Paul says I want to keep the things that you've learned in acts chapter 20 the 20th verse he says and how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shown you and have talking publicly and from house to house.

I do Anything back. It might not of been popular receive the main evidence of that. You necessarily wanted to hear but it was the truth that declared publicly and from house to house. I talked to you as a congregation. I spoke to individually thing did you learn things that I've taught these things he says I want you to remember and then he describes it further.

The things that you have received in first Thessalonians 213, he says, for this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because when you receive the word of God which you heard about preach the word they received. They embraced it and you received it not as the word of man is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that really for you to bring the message if I express my personal opinion if you don't like you have every right to reject not come thus saith the Lord hears what God's word says you have an obligation to believe it to receive to put into practice and so these people had received the word.

Then, in this same passage for specialist 213. He deals with the next thing that Paul speaks of here the things that you've heard you've heard I preach the word to you been taught so the things that you've heard. Then he says the things that you've seen somebody might say, well, this process sounds like a great idea, but have established Paul with the Philippians 317 says Brennan, the followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an example Paulsons. I have taught you. I have brought you the message you received it. I wanted to follow the things that you've heard the things that you previously learned and I want to follow my example is yours. You observe the things that I am doing well. What kind of an example of the pulse at flipping chapter 1 verse 18 it says that he was finding joy in tribulation, and I wondering wanted to be out circulating the gospel, but there were some that were now preaching it somewhere, encourage, and preaching with the right voting somehow the idea that if I preach the gospel is somehow fallback. Be a problem for Paul. So what does he say about is he grumbling is a complaining these finding joy, whether in pretense or in truth crisis preach. People are some of the rightmost #crisis preach in there and do rejoice today and will rejoice Follow my example from finding joy in tribulation, even when I'm in prison I'm still rejoicing because God is at work and that he was faithful in service.

He said in verse 21 for to me to live is Christ and you say that today for you to live is Christ. Christ is displayed and manifests in your life.

Then he had humility of mind. He said in verse five let this mind be in you which was also in Jesus Christ.

In verse 17 a Sanjay NFIB offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, joy, and rejoice all these anticipating his death but was eventually the head, and he knew the time that he was going to be a also important out and anticipates that with humility that he has a strong desire Through verse 10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his and then verse 13 he had his priorities straight rather count not myself to have apprehended, but this one thing I do. This is a priority. This above everything else is one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth of those things which are before I press toward the mark for the prize of the heart: God in Christ Jesus pushing toward the mark his priorities were in place. Let's think back to the picture looking thinking when we get out of all of these verses we began with the fourth verse: the width of the ninth verse by verse. Rejoice always in the Lord second to let your moderation be known and all men are to be gracious. Three. You not to worry, be careful for nothing. Do not worry for you to make a request, known with thanksgiving. What a difference that makes newcomer for the Lord in prayer.

But you're giving thanks. I think some things Judy forgot about when you begin the new arrangement. Thank God for changes your things.

Then you think right. Paul's thickness and you practice what you learn becomes a way of life, not just connectivity for one day.

One afternoon become something that you practice every day in which the end result you enjoy the peace of God, the peace of God which passes understanding becomes yours.

You can't have this peace of God outside of Jesus Christ, was on that portion of the book of Isaiah that Jesus is called the Prince of peace Mama nature is enmity against God. The only way to have peace with God is to be in Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ speaks to those who see themselves centers since coming to me. We read in the synagogue that day. The passage from the book of Isaiah said that he came to set the captives free. That one this under the enslavement of Shane on the chain and from God when he sees his need of the Savior. He sees it because divine grace is broken as part of the sense of sin, and brought them to see me. Jesus says come under me what precious, tender words in him we have peace but there's no real peace. The lasting peace to be found anywhere else. Be all in one and be be in a and a blessing to know that in the most difficult and challenging times we could ever encounter with and still have the peace of God, and in this portion of Scripture in Philippians chapter 4 he gives us clear instructions about how to receive that to be rejoicing only in the if you would like to get the complete message on CD requested when writing this in the till next week at the same time. May the Lord richly bless and and come to you under the direction of the Louisville Bradley Junior poster of the Cincinnati primitive Baptist Church address all mailed to the Baptist Bible Lord Cincinnati, OH 45217.
