Our address is the Baptist Bible. Auerbach, 17 old, 37, Cincinnati, OH 45217, we continue today with the message entitled the resurrection of John, chapter 19, beginning with verse 38 we talk about the empty tomb that makes the difference tween Christianity and all the other religions of the world. The founders of those religions are all dead, Jesus Christ is alive because he came out of the grave.

That's the good news we bring the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, that would go on without reading chapter 20 for the gospel of John, verse one. The first day of the week, Mary Magdalena early when it was yet dark under the ship and see if the stone taken away from the sepulcher. Then she runneth and come to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and Don generally refers to himself in this essay in front of them. They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulcher and we know not where they have laid him. Peter therefore went forth, and that of the disciple and came to the sepulcher so they ran both together and the other disciple did run Peter and came first of the sepulcher.

John was probably younger than Peter. He outran him their first and he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen clothes line yet when he nodded in, Simon Peter following him and he went into the sepulcher and see if the linen clothes line.

Peter was the impetuous so when he gets married on the slowdown understanding the DNA goes inside to see firsthand and the napkin was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes but wrapped together in a place by itself.

Then went in also other disciple, which came first of the sepulcher and he saw and believed what he believed when he saw the close in an orderly fashion. He was convinced that that moment Jesus had risen from the day he believed seeing the tomb and seeing the position of the close no grave robber would have left them so and if that theory that some advance of the disciples had stolen the body away with true excitement would not have unwrapped the body and left those close in such an orderly fashion for as yet they knew not the Scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. Then the disciples went away again under their own home, but Mary stood without the sepulcher, weeping, and I she wept she stooped down and looked into the sepulcher and see if two angels in flight seating the one hand, the other at the feet of the body of Jesus had lain and they say under her why we push that she say in front of them because they have taken away my Lord and I know not where they have laid him and when she said she turned herself back and saw Jesus standing and that it was Jesus. Jesus saith under her why we push that sickness that she's supposing him to be the gardener say offending him sir. If not, have borne him tell me where that has laid him and I will take it away. Obviously, it would been impossible for this woman to have carried the body of Jesus with the additional weight of 100 pounds of spices that were put in the burial garments but it just shows the intensity of her love she so distraught to think that somebody has carried the body the way she wants to find it and show respect and asking where thinking this is the gardener where the body might have been placed Jesus saith under her Mary.

She turned herself in saith unto him, wrap bowtie, which is to say master Jesus saith under her touch me not for not yet ascended to my father but go to my brethren and say under them to send under my father and your father and my God and after seeing the respectable burial we now see the empty tomb. Mary comes in as you read the account in the other Gospels.

Sometimes a little difficult to follow just the sequence of events from the timing because there was more than one married that was in the group of women that went but principally focusing our attention upon the account that this forest here in the gospel of John. Mary comes there in the early morning hours. Apparently ahead of some of the other women that were identified as being with her by other right, it's a very difficult emotional time for she was there to watch the crucifixion.

He was already a devoted follower of Jesus. She loved it.

Dear she had faith and she had hope of what was to come. She sees him mistreated, abused, spit upon suffering on the cross. No doubt she along with the disciples were terribly discouraged at this point. Although Jesus had told them that he would be raised from the dead. They had not fully grasped so many of their hopes were dashed. They still have the idea that there was going to be a kingdom established on this earth and that the Jews would become a quick people and delivered from their oppressors, not slackness, so she has shared many many years, but she comes before they packed to the gravesite devotion should put many of us to shame didn't just stay home and say well it's all over. I give up when making a difference whether I win or not, but tried to she was intense in her love for Jesus and so she goes to the place of the two. She wants to determine exactly what the status is and wants herself to anoint his body, showing again. Her great affection for him. Read the account from Matthew 28 verse one. In the end of the Sabbath as it began to dawn toward the first day the week came Mary Magdalena and the other Mary to see the sepulcher and the whole there was a great earthquake for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled the stone from the door and sat upon it discount which was like lightning, and his raiment was white as snow, and for fear of him.

The keepers did shake and became his. Remember they had soldiers there to God pilot said make it to secure a Japan and these men had the responsibility to guard the grave and be sure that the disciples did not steal the body away and then claim that he had been Ray. The earthquake comes and the Angels are better in white raiment accountants as bright as lightning and so these were the soldiers supposedly keeping the place became as man and the angel answered and said to the women fear not. He know that you seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here he is risen. What an 82.

Jesus was not there the angel to say he is not here friends. That's the very basic truth of Christianity. It separates Christianity from other religion.

So I think there's good and all religions. Nothing else can compare to this. Every other religious leader and his body is still in the grave, but Jesus Christ came out of the gray, victorious over death over sin, he is not here he is risen.

Come see the place where the Lord lay and go quickly and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead and the holding go before you into Galilee, their Japanese see him know I have told you so Mary is weeping greatly disturbed sees this man standing there thinking it's the gardener. She didn't recognize at first it was Jesus because the picture in her mind is still of Jesus on the cross is body performed by the nails in his hands and crown of thorns on his brow seeing him in such a miserable state that now he's in his resurrected body. She doesn't recognize it at first he calls her by name and she said you're the master I recognize now who is she had forgotten.

At this point that Jesus had promised he would rise from the day how much of the teaching of Jesus, his own followers let slip away. There were times he was very direct and very plain as he would speak of his crucifixion and his consequent burial and resurrection set even as Jonah was in the belly of the great fish for three days and three nights so the Son of Man will be but is going to come out.

He's going to be raised even as Jonah was delivered from the better the way to know we think about these disciples who had such great advantages and opportunities and yet how much they missed and how much they misunderstood what are we any better than they. How much of the Scriptures that you read you pass over hurriedly and say well I don't understand that I have to come back and study that someday, but you don't get back to how many times in the message that you hear from the pulpit you think about something for the moment, but as the busy tears of life press in the next week soon forgot how many times has it been misunderstanding you had in your mind that you would come to write knowledge about some particular theme of the Bible. Later Saul is totally wrong with the speaker take heed here, less the truth of God's word, the wonderful things that are for our benefit, that we may live to his glory, to not quickly slip away from us.

Well, she runs and tells Peter the tomb is empty. You need to come and see. Come quickly said as she ran to tell Simon Peter and the other disciple. Then they came running a participant. They want to see what was going on.

They were anxious to know what this meant and so they come and find the grave close in date order. Jesus just slipped out.

Those close is interesting that there is not one word in any of the four Gospels to describe specifically the resurrection itself. Nobody saw nobody selling around but I saw the clear evidence that he had us all the empty tomb, they saw the clothes still bear neatly in order because Jesus had just come out that said that the Angels and rolled the stone away. It was because Jesus couldn't of done it but it was a part of the plan is these angels that appeared and told Mary she need not bequeathing because Jesus is alive. So after we observe a respectable burial and then look at the empty tomb within see the appearance of Jesus. Verse 16 Jesus saith under her Mary. She turned herself in. Saith under him. Ramone which is to say master G sewing machine now recognizing she responds. He's my teacher he's my master, heed my Lord, I see, and she rejoiced in the site. See, there were many evidences of his resurrection. Those who have challenged those with questions and thoughts of come up with their various theory of the disciple stealing the body are grave robbers carrying it away or of the swoon theory that he didn't really die all of those things are foolish when you begin to examine the many evidences proof positive that he arose that was the empty two that were the grave clothes left neatly in order. That was the message of the Angels and then various appearances, first appearing to Mary, then to the disciples. I believe it was 10 different times that Jesus appeared before he ultimately is sent back to heaven and then throughout the New Testament the message of his resurrection is continually declared for squid for chapter 15 verse one. Moreover brother, not a clarity of the gospel which I preached unto you, which also you received, and wherein you stand. By which also ye are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which also reached received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he was seen of Cephas, then of the 12. After that, he was seen of above 500 brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain unto this present time, but some are fallen asleep. He was seen repeatedly by his disciples and then at 1.5, 500 people in Cornwall on eyewitness testimony. They rely upon some of this is I was there I saw it this is what happened for 500 people to see what testimony challenges. Five saw him in his resurrected form for the more there is evidence of it when you see the willingness of the disciples to suffer to be persecuted, to be put to death if they knew down deep.

There was no resurrection they had stolen the body and hidden do you think they could've stood up on the attached of being imprisoned and beaten and persecuted and ultimately put to death when it was all a fox, certainly not sold evidences are abundant message thing that we control from all of this to you who are believers today has some practical implications. Colossians chapter 3 verse one if ye then be risen with Christ now. If you're one of his his resurrection was your resurrection.

You have been right to a newness of life in him, if ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where pricing is on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth for your dad and your life is hid with Christ. So the message to all of us as believers if you are risen with Christ, seek those things that are above have your mind and heart directed toward that in the heavens, the city, remembering that this risen Savior Jesus Christ the Lord is there, seated at the right hand of the Majesty on high and the message to you who are believers when you see the clear evidence that Jesus Christ rose from the dead you not today. Believe it and trust him, trust him for your salvation put foolishness to trust some religious right or ceremony some creed to which you subscribe some effort on your part to live a satisfactory life thinking that it will prepare you for heaven know your case is desperate by nature.

Your fallen center rebel against God, you violated his law justly condemn you need one who is alive, you need Jesus Christ who died for sinners. You need one who can reach down to the lowest pit the fallen center and save them by his grace, he that believe with all the son hath everlasting life, and let us all today.

Rejoice, rejoice in his glorious resurrection. Rejoice in his victory over death rejoiced that he reigns as King of Kings and Lord of Lord sometimes the troubles of life are great confusion the violence the disturbances all over the world in which we live in today or troubling, but to know that King Jesus with pain gives us an inner peace that nothing else could possibly provide. Think of the empty tomb. He's alive today to comfort troubled hearts to transform broken lives to save fallen ruined sinners and to make intercession for us that we have the privilege of calling upon him and he is there perpetually at the right hand of the father to intercede for us to feel you need one to plead your case to plead not on the basis of any merit that you might have for you have been on the basis of his successful work at the what a Savior we have is not here he is risen today.

We brought to the concluding part of the message on the resurrection wonderful thing.

What good news to know Jesus Christ was victoriously came out of the grave. He lives on the high today or he ever lives to make intercession for us.
