The Baptist Bible law are known comes to you under the direction of Elder Lucero Bradley Junior, pastor of the Cincinnati primitive Baptist Church will and this is the center Bradley Junior inviting him to stay tuned for another message of God's sovereign grace. Today we bring you the second part of the message entitled learning in God's school of trouble. The text is Psalm 119 verse 71 it is good for me that I have been afflicted that I might learn by statutes is through trials that we come to spiritual maturity may read this passage from James chapter 1. Many times, but it's what we need to look at frequently because it's so easy to miss the truth of the chambers one verse two my brethren counted all joy when you fall into divers temptations were not inclined that way.

Certainly not nobody wants to be sick. Nobody wants to suffer disruptions in their plans. Nobody wants to go through difficult times, but he saying counted all join is going to tell us.

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Sometimes that's a challenge in itself is not to be patient learn to wait upon the Lord to learn to recognize the unfolding of the bond problems in our life and saying I have no right to challenge Dr. question here Now, even as Jesus had prayed. Even so father for so it seemed good site.

Knowing this, the trying of your faith worketh patience.

But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. Our tendency is if we got a problem. Let's fix it as quickly as possible.

Does matter how we do it.

I just want to relieve the pain. I wanted to be over with, but he's telling us. Don't look for the escape hatch for the easy way you work through it because the ultimate end God has in view is for you to be spiritually mature and if we don't learn it first time around. We may have to go back over the same path again it's not a pleasant thing to have to go over the same territory twice and certainly when it comes to the Lord. Having to deal with us in chastisement. It's difficult enough on the first go around you to want to be resistant. Difficult, rebellious, and have to go the same road. The second time have you learn to be patient.

In this trial. Have you complained. Have you been depressed. Have you been angry say it's not fair it's not right that I can understand the severe disappointment of somebody who is worked all these years and their education. They were looking for this grand celebration for their graduation and its text disappointment people plan a wedding looking for large number people. The family and friends to come in those plans to be altered wedding postpone or somebody who's been laid off work and concerned about having to feed my family or somebody was standing in a food line waiting 10 1218 hrs. to get groceries for the next day after great trial trying to minimize a little, but where trying to point out a biblical truth that God has a purpose in all these painful trials that took charge of life.

It's easy to forget. You could come to church and so I believe God's sovereign you can sing these uplifting hymns about his power.

I believe it but then do you prove that but the way you live. By the way you respond. Trouble though that he is shopper. He is working all things according to his purpose.

If you learn to be content alternate Philippians 411. I have learned, in whatsoever state I am fair with the be content. That doesn't mean complacency. That doesn't mean you say oh well I give up. Graduation was canceling. I don't have a prospect for a job. I think I'm just going to the cast potatoes. I just sit mall mobile day in and day out. Look at television and that'll fry your brain after and so it's not talking about just given up saying what's the use means that applying yourself utilizing your abilities and talents doing what's necessary to move. I would like the job you work looking for isn't available that make you have to look for another journal. You can't just say well then cut off the past year. This plan is not working out. We learn to be content because were trusting God and depending on him, depending on him as the source of our joy is the one is going to guide us, but it's something we have to learn. Paul didn't say I was born with a contented spirit. I had to learn contentment at the learned so we need to acknowledge God's hand in our troubles. Job said in Job 1921, have pity upon me happy upon me. All my friends for the hand of God's friends came had the attitude that many people maintain the day, Joe. Nobody could have as much trouble as you're having.

If they weren't a pretty big center you need to complain. You need to acknowledge what your sin is Job didn't claim to be sinless with perfect but he knew that wasn't some deep dark sand that saved the confection God's judgment, but Job was that it was an upright man, but these friends Digging at human thinking at and then again and so he says, have pity on video only my friends for the hand of God has touched me.

We need to recognize the midst of trials and troubles that it is God's hand God who has touched us and also need to remember you don't want to fall into the trap of thinking like Job's friends if you look on somebody that's having a lot of suffering and use suspicious and say I wonder what's wrong with them. God must've really single them out. You're treading on dangerous ground. Here was a man that had nothing significant to be laid to his charge when he was suffering more than possibly be imagined.

Job recognize the hand of God has touched me through troubles, God calls us from our waywardness for my neglect.

Sometimes trouble is used to stir us up, wake us up. These in chapter 5 sticks awake out of sleep is a rise from the dead would become complacent and drowsy and spiritual things in trouble comes, the Lord says this is a wake-up call. Need to come back. You need to recognize where you are. Some 119. Just a few verses away from our text were 67 said before I was afflicted I went astray. But now I have about Thy word for 68 thou art good and do this good teach me thy statutes is that our desires and our prayer Lord, teach me thy statutes.

I want to learn want to be conformed to the image of Christ. I want to serve the teach me thy statutes, thy word and he says here's the benefit before I was afflicted I went astray I was going down the wrong path.

I was thinking wrong attitude was wrong. Many things were out of place, but affliction came in God use the focus back on him change my attitude to see my own weaknesses to Simon frailties to see how much I needed him and then God sends judgment upon nations.

This is something that clear on something. This is something that you haven't learned but need to learn that God sends judgment upon nations because of sin and to awaken people to a need to repent and much an upset habit. The subject matter because even talking about God's people been talked about how God uses affliction of time to train and teach them. Now you this out saying that God sends judgment upon the nation to the world. Let's say that this virus which is worldwide that God has sent as a judgment and it centered upon blasphemers wicked people, whatever, but it is also formed upon the speak so this trial has touched your life for that was sent directly to you or not. It has, by God's providence touched you and therefore the something you need to know about Amos chapter 3 verse six, shall a trumpet be blown in the city and the people not be afraid, shall there be evil in the city and the Lord hath not done it doesn't mean that God is the author of sin.

God is a holy God. He cannot lie in supporting declaration of Scripture, God cannot lie. He's not flogging anyway. There is no darkness in him, but he speaks of the fact that there can be no trouble, no disaster, no judgment in the city. No terrible storm, no earthquake, no virus, but what the Lord has done just before Amos chapter 4 verse six and I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your city and want to brand and all your places yet. Had he not returned on the me safe level of courses was addressed to his people and he had worn them while they were coming out of Egypt if you will blame me on my law going to be prosperous.

I'm going to bless you. I'm going to be with you always like to travel, but if you don't their persons, and sad to say when they came into the land instead of explicitly following all the instruction got a given them and driving all the enemies out.

They allowed some the remainder they were influenced by their idolatry. So now the Lord is sending complaints and judgment upon the sin that the liquid you still haven't returned to me.

Verse eight. So two or three cities wandered onto one city to drink water but they were not satisfied yet. Have you not returned to the lyce floor.

There was a need. Even the water and becoming one city had a backup moved to another city. But even when they got there. That was not a sufficient supply yet in this deep dark time not having water to drink. You haven't returned to me, saith the Lord. I have sent among you, the pestilence, after the manner of Egypt, your young men that are slain with the sword and I've taken away your horses, and I have made the stink of your camp come up onto your nostrils. Yet you have not return unto me, safe. I know there's difficulty parking lot of people in understanding God's judgments whenever difficult because most of what we hear about is that God is a God of love that I would distract from that whatever God is love. God loves his people intimately and his mercy and grace is even seen that he send the rain upon the just and the unjust. But the reason we have difficulty understanding his judgments would rather hear about his love than to think about his wrath box because we are sinners and we have a difficult time truly seeing that God is absolutely holy seraphim sang in his presence, holy, holy, holy, nothing evil about no fall, no corruption whatever in his holiness he hates sin, and he will publish it. He has done so. He is doing. So now, and he will do so in the future we've observed in our studies in the book of Joshua that God poured out judgment on the pagans in Canaan. They were people who were very wicked in their conduct. They were people who denied the true and living God. They worship idols, and God was meting out upon them. The just penalty of the law because of the sin. Remember in the days of the back of the prophet was terribly disturbed because there was much wickedness in the land and his conclusion was God doesn't even notice. God is not doing anything and complained a lot about in the Lord will told him what he is doing. That is never gone aside and left the throne of the universe so to surmise that God is doing nothing is an incorrect conclusion. God says here's what I want to do I'm going to send the Chaldeans in their vicious people. I want to send them in to invade the land and judge the people back again like that very well either was upset when he thought God would learn anything that would find out what God was doing it like that. So we had to take a little time off and go to his tower for meditation and when he came back in the bucket. Chapter 2 in the 20th verses of the Lord is in his holy temple.

Let all the earth.

Keep silence before, yet the balance I Florida I have no right to try to complain or dictate whatever God is doing its right and just and I will bow to him and dodging from the floor after I use this wicked nation the county as you come in and punish my people to send another nation that we can receive their judgment at my appointed time now if someone says I just can't imagine that God would ever judge anybody should really surprise that God would send judgment on the whole world when his law is basically ignored. His name is dishonored. His son was despised and rejected because it seemed unreasonable that God would send judgment under such circumstances does it seem strange that he would send judgment of the United States of America. When the killing of babies uses legal God's plan for marriage is considered outdated.

Those who condemn sin and speak the truth are accused of being speakers of height while landlord would be surprised if judgment but God sends judgment as a call to repent back the book of Amos chapter 5 verse six says seek the Lord and he shall live lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph and seek the Lord judgment comes.

But God calls on those who are wicked to repent. We must be careful not to draw the wrong conclusion. Just as I said concerning Job's friends we think also of those who came in Jesus time and said what about those upon whom the tower of Simon fell on those who are offering sacrifice and they were slain in their blood was mixed with the blood of the sacrifices were they more wicked than anybody else. What was Jesus responsibly give them the right to stand in the distance and self righteously look down on those people and say all yes they must've been the most wicked people about Jesus and except repent, you shall all likewise perish. So God would have us to search our own hearts.

Try our own ways and asked for his help in doing so well. It's like once more. Each of us are learning about God's word through our troubles we don't want to just drift along trying to survive, but failing to learn sinners, afflictions, it's God's school of trouble to teach us.

First of all, hopefully we are learning that the word of God is reliable you listen to the speculations of manual, listen to the opinions that are so prevalent in our land today so far removed from the principles are founding fathers believed that had been treasured in our country over the years we need to come back once more with the recognition God's word is the book of final authority. Psalm 119 verse 89 says forever old Lord thy word is settled in heaven. The philosophies and opinions of men are constantly changing with the word of God stays the same. Verse 128 of the same song. Therefore, I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right and I hate every false way since my truth is from everlasting. Since it is settled in heaven I esteem thy precepts. I respect the teachings of so surely we learn once again to emphasize and see the importance of acknowledging that the word inspired word of God is our reliable source of truth, for the more they would be learning a new that God is our help and our hope in the time of trouble you turn somewhere else.

There will be disappointment trouble with this virus is being people constantly asking how long is it going to be nobody can answer that is reading the other day about Charles Spurgeon going to London. Just as a young man not long after he arrived, the cholera outbreak came there were about 10,000 people that died from that in the City of London, then two years later it came back, and many more died. See this type of thing is not new or have been many times in season and the world's history, there have been outbreaks of disease virus that killed many little abuse.

Obviously, Charles Spurgeon was a firm believer in prayer, but he says so you people letter on your knees praying you need to get up and go out to these neighborhoods need help and try to deal with this problem. So there's a place for prayer, but there's also a place for work and we need to be busy about the things God would have us do know that God is our help. It's affecting everybody in some way, so it's affecting dramatically their whole life is approved, change people to work so hard to build a business losing people the plan for retirement to play see all of that security. Remove test gigantic problems to what what what we do about 12 Jeremiah was a man great prophet of God that went through some terribly, terribly difficult times and according limitation. Chapter 3 he reached the place. At one point that he said my whole is perish from what darkness crime shall 27th out my prayer. It broken my teeth with gravel stone just made my chain the heavy or what Dr. but he said in Lamentations 321 this I recall the was something he learned that you were talking about today learning something to the afflictions and trials, way learning, so is at this I recall the mine therefore have I it is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning great is thy faithfulness, oh learn, get down in the low place might save momentarily with Jeremiah. My hope is perished.

I guess I don't understand all this Occurred on unrated give up. But you've learned something in the past. You learn that it's Monday faithfulness of God that your sustained and that his mercies are new every morning. And so, about the time he said I have no hope.

He came back and said I have hope because of the faithfulness of God, for the Lord. We learn and often learn to sympathize with others in their troubles be able to comfort others.

Second Corinthians chapter 1 verse three says blessed be God. Even the father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of mercies and the God of all comfort and comfort of us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble talk about God's school of trouble able to comfort those that are in any trouble the same comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God is using some of the trite phrases that you hear tossed around are they like, well, where are all in this together will come through it together when someone consummately guys so just using phrases like that help what if God comforts you with the truth of his sovereignty of the promises of his word and you comfort others with the same comfort wherewith you have been comfort in God's school trouble that you learn these troops and certainly in that school of trouble. We learn to look for a better day.

Colossians 3 to says check your affection on things of not on things on the earth. Romans chapter 8 verse 23 reminds us of where we are where we are expecting to be and not only they but we ourselves also will have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves that enough little groaning over these past weeks, we groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption to with the redemption of our body. Troubles of this life cause us to grow look for a better day for that hectic time when we would be for ever with many times swing. God moves on the center to bring that center to true conviction and repentance. He takes that individual into a school of trouble convicting them of sin. They see themselves like they've never seen themselves before they began to grieve over they feel a great sense of guilt in the presence of a holy God. Think of the product of son to spend to substance in riotous living. They set out arise and go to my father say father have sinned against heaven in the backside and I'm not worthy to be called isolated Novick we receive as a good start only sees the father running in his direction is gone astray. He had many apprehensions as he came but he knew there was only one place to go for help, and that was to the father's house. So I would say if there is one today was going through a time of trouble. It's a blessing of God's spirit. If you been stirred to see your center you're in need of salvation, then there is what the Savior and his name is Jesus. Jesus Christ the Savior of sinners truly learn in times of trouble with the Lord alone is our if it is a sinner being convicted for the first time of his need of salvation must come to see one helper one Savior's name is Jesus.
