In this brochure. Bradley Junior welcoming you to another broadcast of the Baptist Bible I'm flexing for this opportunity to come each day bringing a message from God's word. We currently are going to our series in the Gospel of John. What a marvelous portion of Scripture is the name of Jesus Christ are so highly extolled as we trace his footsteps while he was here and will ultimately come to the study of his death, burial and resurrection than talking about his prayer.

Trust that the message today will be a blessing to you and if it is right and let us know and if you can help with the support of the program will certainly be grateful for our address is the Baptist Bible.

Our box 17 oh 37, Cincinnati, OH 45217 and in and in and in and in and is glorified when these individuals are meant to him my faith. When you believe what he said you trusting you rely upon his promises.

He glorified is glorified when these then live a godly holy life in Philippians chapter 3 we read about this life is to be about chapter 2 Philippians chapter 2 verse 15 that they may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you shine as lights holding forth the word of life that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain.

Neither labored in vain is a kind of life by which he is glorified, that you live as the sons of God, without rebuke you in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation truly see that as the culture around us continues to decline. Evil is rampant, but you are to shine as lights in this dark world, holding forth the word of life is glorified by the life that is Leland and he is glorified by the labor in his kingdom on the part of those who want to zealously serve him in the book of first Corinthians chapter 15 says the 57th verse. But thanks be to God, which given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, why would he make such a statement.

What would be necessary to say I want you to stand fast. I want you to continue.

I wanted to stay on course because Paul knew well the opposition that God's people face from time to time.

He knew well the discouragements would have to be overcome. Therefore, I want you brethren to be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.

For as much as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord even though you face discouragement. Even though there may be serious opposition understand your labor is not in vain.

There is a purpose and there's a benefit to be gained by his name is going to be honored and glorified. I am glorified in them and then receive the request of this prayer is praying for that which is a spiritual benefit.

I'm praying, I'm not going to be in the world, and the longer I'm soon going to depart.

He was soon going to the cross, he would shortly go back to be with the father, but he says keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they made the one keep them preserve them keep them from harm. Keep them from evil. Jesus was not praying the kind of prayer that some offer today when there always concerned about prosperity as though God intends. If we have enough faith for all of his children to have good health always is and to be prospering the material thing commentator name Marcus Rainsford writes it this way, the Lord does not ask niches for them or honors our worldly influence our great performance, but he does most earnestly pray that they may be kept from evil separated from the world qualified for duty and brought safely home to heaven. So prosperity is the best prosperity and in truth all temporal prosperity as it is so cold is only real when it is in proportion to the prosperity of the soul" how easy it is to become sidetracked to begin to think like the rest of the world be so interested in prosperity as far as what you own.

What you're able to obtain out in the world that you forget that the most significant thing is the prosperity of your soul.

Matter of fact, the warning is given the day that will be rich fall into the snare and condemnation of the devil. Nothing wrong with being rich. If God blesses someone to be rich as long as they use what God has given them an audible godly way, but only your thoughts much your time is spent trying to figure out how you're going to obtain more of the material things of this world. It will harm you spiritually what Jesus was praying for was not your material prosperity, but that you might be kept From the evils of this world. He was going to the father and he was very much aware that these disciples were disturbed.

We talked about that as we go to these recent chapters.

It was startling to them. Although he had made it clear many times they had not fully been able to comprehend what he was saying, but it was particularly disconcerting when the announcement one of them was going to betray him, and I was going to deny him and then he was going away was like all the sudden I was falling apart everything that we've known for these three years and walking with the master is suddenly going to be changed. He was going to the father.

He had been there ever present friend.

He had been the master, the teacher, he constantly been instructing them. He had been their protector.

It been so gracious and patient with them as they often misunderstood, often said the wrong thing yet.

He was with them.

They were dependent upon them like they couldn't imagine how they could possibly survive without him. Now his ministry on earth is coming to an end. His message had been delivered, or what powerful words he had spoken when it concluded the sermon on the Mount. It says the people were amazed because he spoke as one having authority, it spoke to them about the fact that he was the bread of life in the water of life had repeated that he and the father were one that had come down from above. He had the message that was needed and he said even in this time it is finished yet and actually gone to the cross yet but going there was a certainty, and he knew of the fact that he would be successful back a sacrifice Isaiah had prophesied back in the 53rd chapter the book of Isaiah. He said that he shall see of the travail of his soul and be satisfied. You already pay the price paid for.

I'm going to redeem a people, not just to make salvation a possibility I'm going to make it a reality, we can say it is finished and he would soon be exalted at the right hand of the Majesty on. He appeared to them. Following the resurrection relieves them of their doubts and fears to know that indeed this was Jesus, but he was going back to be with the father, no more critics to assail him no more enemies that he would encounter. He was going away but they would still be here in the world they would still be facing difficult time. They were still we struggling individuals and Jesus knows that he knows her anxiety.

He knows the concerns he knows their weaknesses, and he's playing for them. Father keep them informed them that there would be persecution back in the 15th chapter of John verse 20 he says. Remember the word that I said unto you, the servant is not greater than his Lord.

If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you. For my namesake because they know not him that sent people to be persecuted because they do not know the father you face serious opposition and you can rest assured today that the reason there is so much opposition to Christianity is because those who oppose it do not know the father some suggested as long as a person is sincere and say they believe in a supreme being or they worship a God. It doesn't matter about which name you may recall that everybody is still all worshiping the same.not so Jesus says that if you love the father love me so person cannot claim to belong to the father and at the same time reject Jesus Christ and his message.

He said of the 16th chapter of the 33rd verse these things I've spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace in the world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

Sprain father keep them to be a difficult time for them but keep them but just think about that time that Jesus told the disciples to get on board a ship on the Sea of Galilee.

I remember Jesus full well knew what they would encounter when they were on board ship. He knew that there would be a strong but he had a purpose in them facing the store there on the ship. Jesus is on the hillside. The storm comes, no ordinary human being could have seen through the falling rain. The boisterous storm. But Jesus solving peace all them out in that ship and they were cloyingly toiling towing and making no progress at all.

And Jesus prayed for them.

Could you think of a better situation than if you were in a storm and to know Jesus is praying for me.

People regularly send requests to us here that we put their name on the list so that everybody can pray for them. We appreciate that you may take some of the request likely likely. But when the person encounters sickness and try it.

It's a great consolation to know the charge is going to pray for me that's reassuring but better than that to have Jesus praying for you. What a blessing Jesus then came walking on the water in the midst of the store and when he got on board the ship immediately. They were old what it means to have the presence of Jesus.

Jesus prayed for them as they face the storm on the Sea of Galilee.

But the fact is, if you're one of his.

He prays for you today. He knows about the storm in your life. He knows about the burden that you care. He knows about that dreadful sickness that plagued he knows about that unresolved problem.

He knows and he prays for you. It prays that the father will keep them. The father is known as the great keeper Psalm 121 verse four.

The hold he that keep us Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is thy keeper.

The Lord is thy shade on the dye upon thy right hand, in Ezekiel chapter 34 describes the fact that the shepherds that have been appointed over the people had miserably failed, he said, you have driven them away. You shepherds have said yourselves and not the sheep. But he says I will seek them out. They been scattered in the cladding and dock day but I will seek them. I will find them I will bring them I will care for them.

He is the great keeper and Jesus is praying father keep them as I leave them as I go away, and there facing the persecutions there facing the harassment of evil man there facing the difficulties of the way.

I pray that you will keep them and just as God is described as the great keeper in these Old Testament passages. We look in the New Testament. At first Peter chapter 1 verse five who are kept by the power of God through faith under salvation ready to be revealed at the last time. Aren't you glad to know that ultimately the keeping is not left up to you by the grace of God we are to persevere in the evidence we have salvation is that we do persevere, but we persevere because he has preserved us because he is keeping us was left you, and many times would you already been Fargo, you stumble you falter along the way you have your doubts and your fears, but we are being kept by the power of God. Now somebody might raise the question. If indeed these individuals were chosen, the father given to the son, according to Romans chapter 8. Those that were predestinated to be conformed to the image of his son are also called on the called adjuster vitamin justified or glorified.

It seems a settled fact that those who are kids would arrive safely in heaven conformed perfectly. The image of Jesus Christ by Ray. Just another example of the five that God's sovereignty does not eliminate the need for prayer and alive and people asked that question. A lot of times I struggle with it. If God is sovereign. If God is working his will in the Army in heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. Why pray one good reason to pray because he said we ought to, but the fact is that God uses prayer. His purposes are often accomplished through prayer. So Jesus sets the perfect example.

Jesus was one with the father has absolute confidence in the purposes of God. Confidence in the promises of God, but he prays them through thy name. Finally, keep them through any merit or worth of their old, but through thy name. Keep them prays and when he prays for this is praying in absolute harmony with the will of the father and when we pray for that which God has decreed or that which God has promised hold whereon plan ground where praying for the right thing and then he says that they may be one as some of use this to support the ecumenical movement that all Christians should unite. Generally, those who take that stand, indicate that they should unite without consideration of doctrine elephants. A doctrine is divisive. So let's just love one another and unite for there is no way that if you believe the Bible that you can unite with someone who says live a Christian, but I don't believe in the deity of Christ on a Christian, but died. I don't believe that salvation is by grace is by human effort.

There can be no unity there. But this prayer for the preservation of his people, concerns a union with him. May they be one they are united to Christ. They are inseparable. But this union with Christ certainly should bring about unity with other believers in Ephesians chapter 4 verse three he says, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of there is a unity with those who have been redeemed by Christ, adopted in the same family. They believe God's word. I believe that Jesus Christ is the all sufficient Savior. It's rare, I admit, but once in a while you hear somebody interviewed on television and you may recognize that they don't believe every detail of the doctor. Just as you do, but if they say something good about Jesus. Aren't you glad for the heck and in face of the kind of information that's out there today isn't it sold Shearing to hear somebody speak favorably about God's sovereignty only son, Jesus, and the fact that he is the Savior. It's evident that in some cases once about his attempting to give a testimony like that that made her cut off because the media doesn't want that information out there a few times.

We smell the local news were somebody was able to escape the seriousness of such tragedy, and they were quick to give God the glory and say I'm I think God Lord intervene. The Lord took care of me. Well, you may find somebody that you set down and talk to every issue has some areas where you do not agree but to know that here's a believer in Jesus Christ. Here's one that's been born again. He's a part of the same family going live with him in heaven someday.

There certainly ought to be a union of censorship and appreciation under those circumstances, Jesus was here praying for the preservation of those given to him and the fact is, he continues to pray for all of those now because he's seated at the right hand of the Majesty on high where he ever lives to make intercession for us.

Therefore, when we feel our great need. We have to come to them and say Lord I can't. I can't make it I'm weary. Amidst the battles of life. I don't have the strength my flesh is weak.

The temptations are great but am coming to you.

He's encouraged us to come, come boldly to the throne of grace, that you may find mercy expert. You need not just if you need mercy and grace to help in time of need. The matter of Sandy says if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. No matter what the burden about what the discouragement to know that Jesus Christ prays for you today to give you joy continue to say to those who might question how could I know that I'm in that number like to know that Jesus brings for me.

You come to faith you believe owning these believers on the son hath everlasting life, and you know that he prays for you if you would like to get a CD of the complete message. The second portion of which we brought today.
