There really high hopes about Monday night football, I was all jazzed up that we were going to have a game with the bills or the chief really I site I was thinking that the opportunity for the Broncos to redeem themselves when they marched down the field and were able to move the ball. They railed up through the air they mixed in the run game. There was a touchdown opened up the charges and the same thing. They also had a touchdown. It was amazing. I'm thinking Monday night football is about to redeem all of the national games that have been a news fast, although that is a really matter because I still do want them anyway. Be reason and source for all of you peeps to complain about how terrible it is to see that offense. We haven't seen across the board in the NFL.

So far this season.

Survey says shift it only last for about 1/4 and 1/2 and then your room. I like kicks like field goals to get your kicks on Route 66. This was all the way to the end of it in Los Angeles but for second there, I was really excited to come down to write. Have you noticed that offense is not as prolific in the first six weeks of the regular season.

We might need to figure out what is going on what's happening now does it change the ratings, of course not.

We are still all about her NFL and the ratings are. They are what they are, in fact, in most cases there up across the board, but it definitely been a slow start to the season when it comes.

Often quarterbacks or systems, or multiple years. Even those quarterbacks who are future all favors. Even those teams that have a ton of weapons. To be honest you did not think that Minnesota would be one of the top teams in the NFC.

They got weapons. Of course people poop email is relatively solid but not flashy. He can't have figures out what works for him and he sticks to that, come hell or high water. But they've won four in a row because they're solid they're not turning the ball over as much there protecting the home field evils.

Of course, bills will we deftly put the cheese in that conversation. Those teams are showing us some pretty dynamic offense and yes like the teams/the bullying for a couple of seconds. Here, there, but the lack of consistency, especially from teams where we expected them to come to pick up where they left off last season, the Rams being another example of that. Where, oh where are you offense what is happened wherefore art thou offense. I know I make myself laugh.

If I don't make you laugh, it's totally fine to throw something at the radio were live from the rocket mortgage studios whether you're looking to purchase a new home or refinance yours. Rocket mortgage can help you get there problems and solutions that fit your life rocket can you combine me on Twitter eight. All radio haven't yet voted for under mortification, miserable and mortified on the Monday out my photo pop up on our way present umbrellas so you have a guest here in studio and I'll let her introduce herself, blow it later on. Sorry case have to wait till we get to the football but it's fun to have someone here, except it's a little strange because their eyeballs staring at me.

I ignore producer J. Most of the time because he doesn't listen anyway and so it doesn't matter really that Jay is looking at me without really looking at me with the Jays on the other side of the open glass.

Again, most the producers. They like to be out after two months is just a thing happened, but to have someone in studio with me.

She think it's super cool here and I keep trying.

Tell her I don't know she worked in TV so I can't imagine why she digs this is super cool.

However, we do have something I would say a fun surprise for you coming up a little bit later but yeah will will introduce our guests here in studio and a bit but pretty much everything has to fall in line behind football around here. You know that's how that goes. The NFL, the jealous lover. They'd all upset and nervous when you start paying too much attention so morals it's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio staring at me and so yes Twitter or Facebook easy to find us and if you haven't yet voted in our poll. Is there on both of our social media sites or phone number 855-212-4227 peeps that we have coming up or with the election generally ruin surprises asking you now to break the news to the peeps because you did a great job showing up here early to make sure that we had everything in place and that it didn't really work, but still the thought was there someone gives you a terrible Christmas present was the thought that counts.

So anyway we worked behind the scenes, the host usually nervous by we have quite a surprise coming up on is additional to show that's all you got a little tease into it as we get into. We have Kurt Warner joining us tonight so excited you guys know I get really nervous for only about five people in the entire industry. Kurt Warner is one of the my guys so the whole Monday night football being on the West Coast's work for us and Kurt obviously is a Hall of Famer, but he's also an NFL network analyst and Westwood One analyst with Kevin Hartline just got off the broadcast of Broncos and Chargers in LA and so will ask him six weeks in what is going on with the offenses around the league and did you all noticed. Did you see it. Did you hear it two more controversial at the very least had scratchers rubbing the pastor penalties we've been asking people how to define it. Weaving through that out to you last week. How would you define it if you could, the competition committee asks you, so we have a Hall of Fame quarterback you ask these kinds of questions you don't want to miss it's coming up next hour here on CBS sports radio breathing actually told producer J that I was in a try Aaron Rodgers box breathing. I still have no idea what that means but box breathing. It is box.

So do you think it's something along the lines of where you inhale for six hold for six XL for six, then arresting six. Can you even do that. That's over the water breathing that is its box breathing it so you slow and control your breathing and that way you can generally control everything. Everything else becomes a little less stress me out even more debris like that one time you exercised no did you two weeks ago to know my stress level would be like if I did not exercise for two weeks.

You would not want to be around me. I'm not sure you want to be around me now but you definitely would not want to be around me about an exercise for two weeks notice that Jay did not speak up. You just like shook his head as a like you're right. I don't really want to be false. That is okay so say I had such high hopes for the game. After the few drives that we saw in the first quarter and then only to the second quarter and that it really devolved into what we see in for the most part from the Broncos in the Chargers to the fact that Justin Herbert and Brandon Staley have been together for a couple of years doesn't seem to matter.

Early on, all it really doesn't matter in the desert with Kyler Murray and another guy a lot of injuries along Theatre Hopkins with Kyler Murray and Cliff Kingsbury and to that end, we'll talk a little bit about Arizona as well.

But yeah, when the Broncos busted out with a big first quarter touchdown.

I was thinking you that they located on Broncos radio, not that long after we saw the Chargers server on one short okay so see what I mean, it was tended at one point I was really excited and then if you love kickers.

The rest of the game is for you Brenda McManus. He's a fantastic kicker… Eagle injured, but he was out there grimacing and feeling the pain and still doing his best to got it out to tie this game at 16. The Chargers have never let chick is good and we are you to go in the day that Smith is it me or is he just he's over it to 358 to go. Maybe that's not fair.

Maybe that's that is him really excited we are okay I know I can be over the top with my excitement in my energy level are not generally on Monday nights of no fear. But yeah, he'd sounds like he's done with it except just like the Broncos and Colts a couple weeks ago. Jay literally told me that was the worst football game he's ever seen. Yeah were worst football games ever seen the whole truth instilled two weeks later, the worst of it was well we got bonus of the worst football that you ever seen and tonight same thing. Now this wasn't awful.

It's just that, of course, it was going to go into overtime right because it was a field-goal fast and we had to show off our kickers even more and honestly, even when the two teams had opportunities to end it early and nip it in the body. It wasn't happening until we got one colossal mistake this is a big kick from Scott signal for and saw the ground waiting for a signal as they pulled from the left – 29 yard when Dustin Hopkins is up. It is so energy they're saving it up for the end of the broadcast. Matt Smith he knew was that into overtime at Smith on Chargers radio. So yes, they end up winning.

And it's because late in overtime. The Broncos multiply nephew remember this play or if you happen to be listening. Westwood One. They were a little confused about TV and radio because mantra Washington and had a teammate that got pushed him and he actually bumped into him the ball is coming down into his God, and for that reason the ball up. Not only did he not catch it, but the ball goes bounding away accidentally bounding it twists and turns and sometimes it rolls and bounces a slippery little sucker and so mantra Washington can't catch it because his own teammate gets pushed into web, but there was no penalty flag.

We actually got a clarification about his team mates I is the one that hated him. Which means that there is no penalty, even if his teammate was pushed into him. There's no penalty because it was a guy wearing the same uniform and Montréal actually says it's on me to make sure that doesn't happen this month off and left me away so long as a solid law to help her mounts were still a small job to be louder to help him. You learn new every day in the NFL. I had no idea I would have assumed that was some type of interference or it was still classified as running into the pond, not the punter. Sorry the return or or not giving him his bubble. There's some technical term for that, but instead it was, not a penalty at all because it was his own teammate. The little bit like when you have three outfielders or infielder into outfielders converging on a ball and they run into each other and they end up dropping the ball well hey that's on them because they didn't communicator the ball. My favorite is when you got three guys in a little triangle and anything one of them could reach the glove out and catch the ball and somehow manages to drop her right in between them. Yikes exactly will get to the baseball by the way.

So yes, eventually, the Chargers won in overtime. We were subjected to Baxter. Of this, the offense just it it disappeared it. Like I said up with my sound effects. So what happened after the opening quarter. Really, that's the question Batavia's Murray the Broncos offense. They look to be to groove and then it went horribly wrong, which is no shortage of just one able to sustain drives home so hard to figure out a way to sustain drives keep the ball moving to just three cents off the field and we did owner supports ourselves overall just got a find a way to score points concerning drugs so got to keep the key finding was better but we start off great and he never buys questionable government employees were relook like, how I thought we should look like Her tempo up and everything else on cultures have made a great touchdown on the energy was high or poorly on the football team out there for work just as good if not better, and we feel like I'm going to call you know it's diversity is the child in us right now but one way I only I know through doodle is just continue to work hard.

He actually said were just as good is not better ha well the Broncos are not in last place in the AFC West but they are two and three Chargers about three and two and the Chiefs are at four and weight, not 32. I'm sorry I didn't refresh.they didn't have their bye week. Yet the Chargers are tied with the chief.

That's actually kind of funny. There tied with the Chiefs, the top the AFC West Broncos are two and four and the Raiders are the caboose in the AFC West and we know to be competitive because you've got such good teams and good defenses, but something still doesn't look quite right with the Chargers either, even though they have ended up with the four winds down.

They won their last three in a row.

You can find me on twitter a lot radio.

She would fill in the blank. The offense in the NFL is what through three through six weeks. What I just for fun was to tell people to be careful. They don't use inappropriate language itself not to with that? Use your words are words you don't tell me twice yet so will do a fill in the blank offense in the NFL is what through six weeks.

Got that producer J I Jacob put up on our show twitter account after hours. CBS were to hear from Brandon Staley, Justin Herbert Daniel Hackett's and always a win is a win is a win and the Chargers picked up the Broncos did not and this is certainly not what Denver expected, bringing in Russell Wilson bringing in weapons around him and having it look like this idea here.

Our guest Kurt Warner Salo broadcast that and actually on the phone network as well that he thinks they look really uncomfortable Broncos looked uncomfortable.

So then how do you find that rhythm. How do you find that comfort zone that comfort level so will talk to him top of the hour it took the last time he was on the show if you did, it was two years ago and I was giddy. I was like laughing away as we teased him about the whole pork rinds thing he used to be the spokesperson for Southern recipe smallbatch pork rinds and then they started asking me to do it and after they start asking me to do it. He accused me of taking money out of his pocket and so we open yet so producer J could had to bring that back just because I called out a lot in two years. Yes, organist.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I've calm down a lot in two years and so I will, I promise not to be giddy to laugh like that to the after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio you are listening to me after our fantasy football leagues are one on the waiver wire and with trades and with savvy starter sent decisions. Lawrence Broncos radio we heard Matt Smith on Chargers radio and top of the hour, a member of the Westwood One broadcasts that we got covered sustain the offense pastorally the first quarter and 1/2 and it's not just about the numbers, but the numbers certainly do tell part of the story. For instance, the Broncos were over one in the red zone.

So for as much as they were going up and down the field. They only got one official red zone trip and they were over one Chargers one for four in the red zone and this is despite the fact that they were 11 of 22 on third down third down as you often see that many opportunities in a single game for one team, but there were a lot of opportunities and they were 50%, but they didn't. Over 300 yards and they were one for four in the red zone now one more number that I will throw at you is 1010 Denver penalties for all hundred and 51 yards so they don't over 400 yards off the deck. Sally would think they would over 300 yards of offense total and they had 151 yards a penalties yet here we go here's the official number 258 total yards of offense yards and Baldie grouse waste hundred and 51 yards to the Dallas Cowboys have 10 penalties on Sunday night against the evils I feel like they did and they way so many opportunities that way, not just with turnovers which they had three of them. The Cooper Russian receptions, but also with the penalty. One step forward two steps back 1 yards and penalties both sides of the ball right offense and defense. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio. We know that does not in the kicker for the Chargers got to be the star of the show. He had a hamstring like kind of crap strain, you know, just didn't feel right and so can't say enough about him hanging in there and then. Then you can sit as much a case Scott come in and kick it off and do an outstanding job kicking off for us so that justly could save himself for funerals and PACs will certain, and you know that's the good part of the Infosys does need to obtain his talk about them for for him to go out there and play put up with something like that its principal. We have so much respect for those got you think that's true today. Quarterbacks do you have a lot of respect for kickers. No, just in general when they make that but we don't. The very thin line of respect versus your debt to me, social studies, affable players, the kicker, nuts, don't you plan to kick the flap with Matt Weiner, Jack the Colts kicker you kicker that you have a liquored up 88 kicker than Peyton Manning went after when he did something stupid. Elting the social media thing was pre-social media, but he said something in an interview about Peyton Manning and then Peyton fired back with you going to take the word of our liquored up immediate kicker pretty sure there was also after is like two or three kicks no fog as the Steelers so yeah it is a fine line. If you are able to make the kicks and you're doing it injured well then the respect factor in the locker room grows daily in the Chargers are now at four and two tied for first place with the Chiefs. This is a complete team when it was a tough, rugged game outstanding defense over there and it was tough sledding in every way. For all four quarters and over time and that was just tough and rugged game and it took everybody compatible it when story and frisk closing information to get a turnover on specialties like I was too trusting, just to stay in the fight come back and to know early on so far Denver while they did have a few positives, highlights, and did start out the way that they did with atenolol lead not only the penalties but also the muffed punt the turnover just the inability really to move the ball after that. So it started fast, but it it petered out with the old adage is not how you start-ish on that case, we should just forget about the start for the Denver Broncos because that's a distant memory now. This is very disappointing.

We need to have a lot more urgency across the board starts with me as a coach going to all of the coaches and into the players. Players need to be you'll just more urgent we we had some opportunities there and we got executed a higher level we come up some better place on divisional locker room. He got so I'll be horribly played for children. I am everybody didn't go her way. But everybody's fighting the butts off every day because of Fräulein receivers Titans running backs. The deep defect and Stevens align linebackers in this community forget savings and quorum.

Everybody's play virtual fillet we can win the game. I don't love though about what's happening around Russell Wilson. It's it's definitely not the offense that Broncos fans or that the NFL was expecting when he took the job in Denver got traded to Denver and then got the big contract. I get that there's a lot of disappointment, but all that if you noticed, however, was taking aim at him personally.

He sucks in the locker room is team is don't like him this that he's always awkward like never used to really be an issue. I guess when you're waiting, nobody cares if you're an odd duck or if you if you happen to say something weird like Broncos country. Let's ride even after losses. All of a sudden now everyone is taking aim at him and feel like it devolves into lowest common denominator radio.

I don't love it. I don't love the fact that people are criticizing him as a person when they've never really been that locker room but yet seems like all the juju around Russell Wilson now has just its turn personnel on there's attacks. It's this and if that not really about the football right now yeah but you also remember to lucky we heard a lot of this stuff.

The awkwardness the weird and all the Mr. underlay is admitted to make fun of them. Then I was no suitable ring. And yes, you go to Denver to get the big contract. No one has anything from you. Glad you've done nothing for them. So when all of that comes through and then you lose that comes out rule for so yeah that's just the way it is now in pro sports. People will turn on you just like that really turned on to do them.

He's cool. Please, awkward is weird he has no stock is done nothing. Don't you remember how gender with electric and all excited and all preseason all we heard was how much energy he's bringing to the building site. Everybody is about the Broncos did you hear that word coming out of Denver. Our Savior at a Denver out of fans and players all hired some players and preceded not just how excited they were in the building. I'm sure the quarterback is excited to work and what doesn't work and you act with you because awkward is I don't think he means awkward no different stuff.

She was trying to explain to me his subway converted a dangerous sin which and talk to no one, which what you call J he should like two or three times to meet. I could what I could understand what is talking about is limited. The danger which I mean the Gaza border, said Richard Sherman talk to Marsha Lynch you want to get in touch. Russell Wilson played with the PR people.

These are not good things.

Okay so when you have those things you can't separate yourself and you'll be curled back in the day everybody talked with Alisha Boone and was Russell Wilson as young as young as young as you grow up 34 years old.

You don't realize when you're talking to no one to danger which and it's a spicy sandwich explained to you that this is strange, but you can take Reading and and you don't mind if your teammates makes you think it's a really good I don't think you are building a GQ coat. Yes, I think he knew he was doing something that was awkward. I don't Russell will interesting.

I don't think he gets it and that if you don't go out and throw for 385 yards and three touchdowns, you're going to hear it. Talk to each other. I disabled your sing about the Denver sideline doesn't look at each other going hell is going. You know it's definitely gotten that problem whispers and the whispers are not whispers anymore. There like talking from the space which which is why residents are questions about how were not splitting up in the locker room is still on the same page so you start with time to get rid of the let's ride stop at your plan, five minutes. I hate that Brian not to Broncos country and the fact that there horses kind aliens when you start when you lose you really have to and it's very awkward when they lose its own brand for him though and I think he's way too worried about his brand stop with that nonsense. Get to know your teammates. Beth was after there wasn't the cold cloth when he standing in front of it.

He goes Broncos country and he walks off the world you know it's under his breath is mobile has to say because he has to say. What shall the confidence to say the server is not competent with on the back of your your back will reset your back with the back of you when you're walking away don't want a lot of PR people around you can get some that are not kissing you around that I should tell you the truth that the good that would really help yes and that I wanted that sometimes both stars. Stars need to have people around them.

That will be honest with them. I will tell them when this is not a good idea. I don't get looking again at the people don't like her negative that the computer might well in support of Io to be Jewish or negative, like how to get better so that I don't get that part of it, but that's their mentality. Unfortunately people set the caretaker of their livelihood, and if you tell somebody like Russ Wilson, apparently for what it seems. On the outside something negative don't work during speaking of negatives the Buccaneers offense is brutal right now 20th in the NFL barely 20 points per game and Tom Brady was addressing that on his podcast also had a special guest to actually like the fact that he yells at his lineman on the sidelines all here that coming up I were asking you to fill in the blank, and we put the post up on Twitter after our CBS abilities are welcome, I suppose. But here's the question that is not a question here's the statement the offense around the NFL. This season has been what so that's on Twitter or you can did you put up on Facebook okay will go up on Facebook very soon, top of the hour, Kurt Warner, you are listening fantasy football leagues are one on the waiver wire and with trades and savvy starter set decisions.

The fantasy football today podcast will help you along the way with the best advice on how to manage your team and dominate your leave eight episodes per week fantasy football today is the only resource you'll need starts. Check out fantasy football today anywhere podcast are found to be after-hours podcast will go will limit is dismissed to dimmest one points one third down and ensure good situations after-hours Lawrence, the voice of Tom Brady and before that, well, you hear it a lot of empty possessions utility is not just Tom Brady. It's not just the Buccaneers offense, but you would think after this point with a great quarterback like Brady and even the Packers of a great quarterback like Aaron Rodgers that there would be some type of rhythm and flow in and yet it still a lot of stop and start. It's still very disjointed. That's the word that comes to mind really disconnected and said this about the Buccaneers. Sometimes it looks like there their stock there's mired in the muck and other times it looks like there out there all running 11 individual offenses and not on the same page so all of that to say that it's not clicking yet and yet that's fairly standard around the NFL right now we don't really have a lot of great offenses.

Six-week said the rafting you to fill in the blank on Twitter and Facebook.

The offense around the end of this season has been in what fill in the blanks on Twitter a little radio or on our Facebook page after hours with a Villard that our phone number 855-212-4227 Tom Brady hosts his let's go podcast/radio show on Sirius XM with Jim Gray every Monday and a lot back and listen to it in its entirety on Tuesdays when I have the opportunity. It's great that you do not hear in press conferences, and I'm hoping this is the Tom Brady minus the swearwords that we will here on Fox when he finally takes over in the number one booth along with Kevin Burkart but yeah he was good have to address the all but the struggles of the Buccaneers to this point were not scorned enough points were not playing well in the red area. We've been very inconsistent on third down, the game is about points.

It's not about your possession. All those things factoring, but the deciding factor in every game. This is the point out the complete obviousness points you score more points in the other team and in three games. We have another three games. We haven't even than the three games we won. We haven't played the waiver capable certainly ostensibly so you know we've all her, licking her wounds, looking at the last six weeks and trying to do a lot better. Heaven more communication about things that we think we need to do moving forward and it's gonna be a big challenge know we have a big challenge ahead of us. They don't think so magically just solve himself, you know, things have to become so all you have to put the right time and emphasis into the things in order to improve them and we got a lot of work to do.

Tom Brady on the let's go podcast with Jim Gray and a special guests got an interesting Kevin to write joined them on the let's go podcast in the timing seems to work right.

The last free night that Kevin Durant has for a while because the NBA season kicks off. No, not kicks me here kicking your your like I'm on great tips off on Tuesday and there are a couple of games I I'm just not in hoops and hockey mode yet, but I think it's kinda cool. The golden state warriors well raise the banner and will host the Lakers on their first night and then Boston man. This is the team but of course was the surprise representation of the East in the NBA finals and man how things have changed, but Philadelphia at its Boston in the early part of that double-header and so nationally televised games all excited.

Blah blah blah. It just took crazy all things in the NBA member. When Kevin Durant tried to be traded, and then he tried to get his owner, the team owner to fire the coach and the GM and now he's back and act like every things wonderful member that are weaker. Yeah right. We all care you know you care. Historically, didn't work, but it was positive it to remind him of that right. Anyway, he was probably not Tom Brady. He was on with Brady and Jim Gray actually like that Brady was expressing his displeasure with the offense of line Sunday morning on the solution will sometimes water best way to get all handled in a moment so you let it simmer until halftime or to the next timeout might be in RJ's downturn 12 points and also unwanted correctional muscle is also loosing that let you say no yesterday you said it all around social much so, you stop flirting. Think about the Mets played the whole games we will cost us off the bus to school soon, JD, and Brady also talked about being older athletes, which I thought was funny since Kevin read 34 Tom Brady 55 in blaze of violent collision sport and NTD is 34 but he had a lot more injuries that Brady has Brady said relatively healthy throughout the course of the year. Oh okay I'll do that you have what you take your own advice that would be some kind interview Kevin Durant Evergreen instead.

In lieu of Kevin Durant. I'd rather have the Hall of Famer Kurt Warner top of the hour joining us from Los Angeles after hours here on CBS sports radio but I told you have a guest and studio. Her name is Casey. You can decide if you want to people to know your last name that's totally up to you on your mic works in broadcasting, but you wouldn't know it by the fact that she did not turn. We can reduce your J control the mic if you want to go around the room. You know you are in some kind of a new setting go around the room and introduce yourself. Casey is on the other side of the country here in New York City.

She normally works in the central coast of California as a TV sports anchor. There can't be that many actually sports director. There can't even be that many females the entire country who are sportswriters of their TV station so that's amazing.

Thank you Amy, you're welcome. So the I asked Casey earlier.

What's your favorite thing you've done so far in New York City and did you tell me about walking across the Brooklyn Bridge.

That's what you said I love Dumbo so I think Dumbo every time I see that cute little blue.

My favorite part and bite you know this is the most active ever seen the Brooklyn Bridge. I think I just went at the worst time of the day that I did love so much. Well, welcome back to New York City to go and it smelled like hot everywhere you go. Yet ready my designated yes it does neither trash or pot. One of the other yeah a lot of downsides can't live outside upside sale.

Okay you say so no worries here so yeah so there's upsides and in your market. So what's what would be the top sport that you would cover in your market slow. Oh, Cal poly baseball is pretty huge. So I talk a lot about My baseball in survey in your area, you know, I really should cover some more surfing you shy enteric guide to teach you how to surf good idea for sure now that that baseball yeah I baseball the football team has one way and so we talk about him, but little rough high school football is huge actually ever had a lot less taxes is a hell. Casey has a Texas accent ideal which is totally cool.

Lots of cool. We have many affiliates in Texas Dallas.

Of course, one of 53 the fan you want to say something to your dad in case he happens to be list say that my dad is so excited about me knowing Amy I think your biggest fan.

I think is one of them bigger than my mom, my uncles pretty big family.

You told me tonight that your dad actually wanted to encourage you to reach out a dead when he found a parakeet they went their keys have to retest anyone see the most knowledgeable person on all that's really cool or not. I said no person okay NEG if you want to do radio on.

We have more fun on the side. I think I love the fact that I'm in Tennessee right now and sweatpants and no one knows the greatest by its beautiful. It is really nice dress well dressed up. I just a little flock. I mean it's pretty low standard right now. Our current water is coming up next.
