Hi Mandy about reporters for enemy.com enter new podcasts. Fielding questions will explain why baseball players are so superstitious. What separates the best parts from the rest of those other things you always want to know about the greatest sport in the world right now on honesty over average I Mandy about Sarah Lane reporters for MLB.com enter new podcasts. Fielding questions will explain why baseball players are so superstitious. What separates the best ballparks from the rest, and all those other things you always wanted to know about the greatest sport time now on honesty over average with my aunt and uncle in the area on Monday afternoon. We did early since being a central time. The first NFL game on Monday with kicking off at 615 central five is that we wanted to get out early in by the time I woke up they were past lunch, but it was too early for dinners so we just decided we would go in the middle. Anyway, we went to register audit before we sat down even my uncle noticed that there were two people in the booth behind us that were completely decked out in Vikings purple. Why is that significant swell because in Wisconsin there are not very many people who would dare to wear their Vikings purple.

But these Vikings fans were obviously looking forward to Monday night football and were feeling pretty confident about being out and about and purple and proud in packers displaying backers territory because of what happened in week number one when the Vikings beat the Packers and really strangled the Packers 24 seven. There was not a whole lot of breathing room for error draw the offense and it was total domination, fittingly enough, that was the final score of the game between the Eagles and Vikings, though Vikings on the wrong end of the Monday night game so who are the real Vikings and will they please stand up is after hours with Amy is on CBS sports radio. You can find me on Twitter a lot radio also on our Facebook page after hours with Emile exhibit asking you which team should have been the most mortified on Monday and certainly there are now more teams that we could add that mixing some of you were pointing to other teams in the NFC North like the Bears after Sunday night football. But I suppose we could put both Titans and Vikings in that category because there's pleasant plenty of misery to go around. Two weeks into the NFL season, so let's talk about these Minnesota Vikings who never really got off the match against the Eagles with the Lupron who has the locked on Vikings podcast and to the best of my knowledge, I can keep up with all of his social media exploits but it feels like Luke that you tweet and post about the Vikings year-round.

Don't ever take a break. The Vikings ever wear you out with a great no liking your own show rain or shine. We talk about in the summer we do retrospective in storytelling and stuff and then you don't get wrap fees and everything. No days off no days off Bill Belichick okay so what happened to the Vikings on Monday night. Why didn't we see the Vikings from the Packers game and the season opener that it feels like they went away from everything that made them successful before they went to a much more vanilla much more conservative defense of plan. They took all the pre-snap motion out of there often.

They just went away from everything that was working and instead put forth likely over thought the Eagle and they thought that you know they did could beat the Eagles they needed to do something totally different.

Everything they had put on tape. That meant that when we were everything.

They were good at and they took him up totally flat and by the end of the game. They were all in a blind panic and I think honestly begin brokers. Get punched in the mouth like that your naptime down 24 to 70 Avenue to make a rally off defensively they pulled together they ended up not giving up any more point often simply didn't score any other points and make sure did have opportunities to so I think the team kind of what the game get to them.

In particular, why would they change the game plan. No new head coach got a learn that lesson did not go away from what you're good at, you know it, but I guess you just did. There's a lot of lessons you learn that had coaches learn and when you get a new one.

You gotta wait while they learn all the lessons for the first time everybody's got that thing where they go, man. We just totally over thought that we probably should just talk with what was working, but we didn't and we decided that we're going to come out a totally new game plan and that'll super catch him offguard and then realized that they get paid on the other side to and they can beat that you think they just cannot help. I was sincerely surprised by the number of shrunk plays that the Eagles were able to amass in this game and also what the strategy on defense. But why did it seem like every single Philadelphia wide receiver was wide open all game long line, we bad performance because everything was uncontested. I'm pretty sure jail and hurt a career low for throws into tight windows and I'm pretty sure he approached €400 on the game like he just didn't have to do any hard throws Vikings made it super easy on which is really really frustrating. It was very passionate, very conservative is very would just sit back, keep everything in front of us will rally and tackle stops working with you in front of us is a 15 year per game. I just that the lock on Vikings podcast reputed to go up shortly here, just record that I ripped into her… All people.

If you want to find one name that deserves the most blame and that is a high that is being shared by a lot of people would certainly not just a Donatello probably get the biggest piece of that is a dreadful game plan when you're so scared of Ajay Brown and Yvonne to Smith. Dallas got good players good to respect them. We are so scared of and that you played is passive soft zone and by the way, players deserve some of the blame to ML's DB the first to tell you that they didn't execute very well at all and they didn't do those very well date date on their landmarks a little bit too long was really easy to just try to tell the receiver say just down in the zone and Jill hurt the ball on and it was like they were thrown out there just like way too easy to basically just that they were so scared of losing again off again so that's what you would call it a passive soft zone is something new for the NFL, passive and soft Charmin ultra soft or weak Lupron is with us to talk Vikings and then just split personality we see in the first few weeks you got the locked on Vikings podcast and no days off because there's plenty to talk about is after hours with Amy all right. Another question I have, then I get that the Eagles were playing some strong defense and once they got behind it. They were thrilled about going slowly to try to pick up point you can understand why they'd want to throw the ball more, I suppose. But why so little attention to the run date wise.

A little balance with the run game to be Kevin O'Connell.

I think I really don't think he cares about Karen Jim about it on offense or on defense quarterbacks go to the quarterback is a passing guy is been a passing game coordinator you want to throw on and I want to come off the bike.

There were a lot of people Minnesota wanted exactly that. Just what the doctor ordered. After we got came off of the defense, if you know grind them out, will let's win every game 70 team, coach Kevin O'Connell wants to throw throwing throw some work. There comes a point where you tip the scale too far to the other side, and I think what would like six carries for 17 yards with Alvin Cook might be that point undertakes in the game for a lot of it, that's just to be part liking situation, but you gotta get something going on the ground have to be able run your stapled in your bread-and-butter call you in the Rams John McVeigh famous pass heavy famously pass happiness where Kevin O'Connell ran from came from. They still have their staple runs that were there bread-and-butter that they could go to on second and four and converted and they just didn't get that really quick to abandon it. You know it didn't work. Getting behind in that it That patient. I think in general the whole team had a feeling panic about it this feeling of you know know the game is getting away from us. They are going to start dumping things wrong.

You know the bus to coverage give a 51 yard field goal. Her cousin throwing up faith thought up his back foot that are basically gains of 500 and your dad's backyard. Just like panic from top to bottom, from the coaching visions and everything just deer in headlights look like a team of rookies and I think part of that is being run by a whole bunch of people who have never done the job for a Donatello defensive coordinator before but it's been a while. Kevin O'Connell never been a head coach for the quarterbacks coach never been a quarterbacks coach before and a lot of people getting their feet wet.

A lot of people got punched in the mouth for the first time tonight.

You could tell it was the first makes sense because there are some growing pains for coaches to what we are seeing around the league. It's not as though Kevin O'Connell is in that boat all by himself. Nathaniel Hackett is after hours with Emile Lupron is with us with locked on Vikings and try to dissect what happened with them. I gotta tell you this little guy I knew they weren't running the ball at time because that was pretty apparent, but it's jarring to see Kirk cousins as your leading rusher. That should never have. I don't care how bad the game is or how it's going. That should never ever happen to require you gotta stick with it.

I know I sound like way too old-school here, but you can't give up after six attempts in all game even if you're chasing it you know if it's the third quarter and you're down three scored a whole hat you gotta be able to show a little bit of multiplicity because when you can't when you can just back off and go empty every player and you're gonna play the spread offense like you're in the SEC there is going to tee off on you and that's exactly what happened to started listing every play with total reckless abandon.

And then they got panic Kirk cousins and panic her cousins just flat out loses games, I think that's a lesson gotta learn and it's unfortunate that they had learned in a live game that mattered on the national stage in primetime, which we navigated things in such a way where you could learn that lesson before it counted so much place that I will say that word on Kirk cousins, one that Irv Smith drop or the bullet went right through, it would've been a huge Katie was behind the defense and the was the Darius -like interception at the goal I were clearly Justin Jefferson had broken off his route and according to Paul Allen. I just happen to see his tweet. He mentioned that JJ went right over to Kirk immediately when they got off the field and said hey that was my fault. I'm real sorry not completely on him. But as you point out, it did not look like they were sticking to any kind of a game plan and it was much more reacting and reactive that it was dictating. What about Justin Jefferson. He honestly had a record-setting season opener. He's a guy now. The lobby will point you would say is the best receiver in the league but definitely in the top three, if not the best. Where is the greatest growth in his game, even as he gets to the point where he's feared around the NFL will not the best thing for him, but we gotta be prisoner and I think the biggest thing for me is. This artistic quality to his route. I been calling the mark I been saying throughout camp and an precedent while in place throughout camp he looked like he was really pushing the boundaries of what route can be where you really win your coaching around telling someone how to run a route. What is really all you care about is that they are in particular spot. That particular time. It's a 16 yard pot than break here and then get here were the ball is both to be and really don't care what happens between long to get there on time and what happens in between usually is running right but if you add more deception a little bit more lean everything that Justin Jefferson does is so subtle is routes like the naked eye. They don't look like they're covered in all this windowdressing but then you break down little details to train your little beam just enough to get the safety you think that you need to widen out a little bit. You can cut inside of that kind of stuff so much subtlety and nuance to it that allow him to get open and once he is the ball in his hand. He checked the game just use relentless and tenacious even thought up onto the catches tonight you catch stupid little spot route 5 yards down field and you get a first down candidate you could just go down a lot. Water savers are just gonna turn around I forward take thing not take a huge hit move on. But now he's dancing around. He's finding a way pushing through people. She's just there's a very, never give up attitude to the way that he like once you have the ball in his hands is not the kind of thing that let you all against the Packers last week where he can go diving for the pylon like is a very like every wide receiver, but Jefferson just come across that abound or in such good play. Now he wants everything all the time and I love that attitude, and that mentality, we stress the team had it there was a little bit equipment like well it certainly can be contagious so we've seen the best that we seen the worst and will see what else happens in September. At least we know it's not just Minnesota. There is inconsistency and there are the split personalities all over the NFL through the first two weeks of the regular season just to see the Packers in week number one and I was actually label field on Sunday night against the Bears and so they are one and what is well, as is the rest of the division what your pricing your Chicagoan and Green Bay course that the Vikings played in the first week and I did try to still work in progress, but how competitive is the division they share me. Detroit is surging and great game for them against the commanders. I want to see a little more to believe it, do you think they will get it all get all get a healthy dose of it. I guess I want to see insisting that success little bit before they proved to me that they really are for real.

The Bears to borrow a phrase, they are who we thought they were. They are not taking the season seriously and they deserve every insult you can possibly throw at them because of it. They just diming their trotting out practice squad players.

Big big got their roster has like eight players that were cut from other they just are not taking the season seriously. They decided this is the year we fix our Issues and get nothing else done is really got thing to do when you got a rookie quarterback on a rookie contract with the Bears have done this as much as I wish them ill of the division rival. I don't not like this try, one in your brain in your fantasy league start setting your lineup, you get the win. But this is not what this is supposed to be enough to now I feel the Bears weren't so Sunday night, went the way I thought it would going into the season and week one might've been a little weird. And maybe the natural orders reset a little bit.

The Packers will be a fearsome force in the division belongs to them until somebody proves that they can put a consistent season together and well everyone wanted one that's true, actually. Packers had more points in the second quarter on Sunday night and the other 7/4 combined to this point, so they're not consistent yet either believe they've got a long way to go to but it is still a division that they have owned for three years now right to Lupron before I let you go now to tell people you can find Luke on twitter at Lupron NFL.

He not only tweets about Vikings at his podcast and whatever else is happening in the NFL, but he also tweets photos and videos of bunnies.

I need to know more about these rabbits and how do they predict games because apparently they get victory pellets when they get the outcome or they get, but the yes so my rabbit the BMW. There will chinchilla breed dwarf rabbit rabbit that they are there great their evil incarnate and little veggies little bit of their veggies down alike either side of the plate and just like one-sided Viking one but pick against the spread is that led you to go to that I did that for every game last year and Zoe picked 11 foreign want. No way. One push and she refused one week because she was not feel that she walked away 11 foreign want against the spread. I can't. People started getting on the bandwagon and started betting whatever Zoe picked and they make money people. It was so course I gotta do it again. A native of Piccadilly -210, well ziti as they like the pasta ziti the ziti and Zoe are clearly much smarter than the rest of us that's that's impressive and also very cute on the gold I'm staying with in Wisconsin.
