Now run for our pool in the last 10 games and we could see a major surprise because he only had six home runs in the first half of the entire season.

But he still operable the man is well.

You see, he's called the machine for he that is not what we heard from a jury. :-) Following this first game of a five-game series at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Homerun number 693. But that wasn't the only star power. The only dazzling display at Wrigley Field just a few hours ago, and the pitch he hit how many guys would be able to hit that pitch, let alone headed out of the field for a homerun fantastic.

I feel like I need to listen or watch sometimes. I could see them on TV, but more often I'm listening to Cardinals radio every time now. Not only do they have the longest winning streak in the game. Currently, not only do they have a nice grip on the NL Central. But we are seeing a march toward a history. He leads off the seventh with the drive to left centerfield seven home run in 10 games number 14 overall in what he insists will be his final big league season, and even in Chicago on the north side with the arch rivals on the field.

There were cheers from the crowd. Of course, because now everyone wants to see history. To that end, we will talk about our pool that I am all about it. I've been on board since the beginning, him reaching 700 home runs.

He's only three from tying Alex Rodriguez for from moving into fourth place all time ends obviously seven away from that rarefied air that elite club that features just three other haters in all of baseball history. It's a great story. We been on it forever as a favor. While it looks like it might be a major long shot, but to that end, this is going to be like a set of speaking it into existence is going to be an amazing moment, a milestone that for many sports fans will be one of the greatest they've ever seen. That's the question in sports. What's the most impressive memorable unforgettable milestone you seen it, I don't mean in person necessarily go if you saw it in person. Even better listen pretty emotional impressive historical moments in my 20 years in sports. To be sure.

Now a lot of them blend together, but depending upon your age, your perspective will be different.

One way that our pool halls has matched Barry bonds, who set a major-league record by home ring off more pictures than any other. Albert now has that record with Barry bonds 449 different pictures, Drew :-) come on down.

I love this and I also giggle every time someone tells me that I don't talk about baseball or the that I'd never talk about baseball and after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS boards, radio, or live from the rocket mortgage Studios when you need an expert to help navigate the home loan process. Rockets can really get to Cardinals cubs coming up and to that end, the brewers are trying to cut into the Cardinals lead in the NL Central brewers on the road in Los Angeles where the Dodgers star like a buzz saw.

And yet they are not unbeatable. We've got the announcement from one Matt rule about his starting quarterback for week one Carolina Panthers in the Cleveland Browns kicking off the season against one another. Of course they are.

Seriously, whoever had the foresight and guessed correctly. Thinking that Baker Mayfield would end up on the Panthers roster. There were only so many teams where he would end up only so many teams where he might be traded. Whoever guessed correctly and made this a week.

One battle deserves a raise or maybe to get the office right next to Roger Caddell.

One or the other by being up from the category of you can't make this stuff up somebody actually thought that far ahead and made it happen in the schedule is crazy. I would love to show some of his cubicle. He's not to say anything like that. Now he is on his best behavior in Charlotte so Baker Mayfield is the choice what is Sam Darnall's reaction.

Plus Tom Brady is back with the Buccaneers and I'm not to say I told you so but I did at least clue you into the idea that he was likely on a vacation that this was something that was preplanned maybe going back to his 40 days and 40 nights of retirement and that this was not an emergency little boy or the idea came out that it might be an emergency of some sort. Now add Todd Bowles decidedly on concerned at all about his quarterback being away, but he is back with the box and getting ready for the season opener, which is now 17 days away. What know-how that even possible. It's possible peeps. It is possible Aaron Rodgers whipping that receiving core into shape and what else from football oh my goodness, Mike, and how could I forget, we don't do love anything we get from Mike's omelette and I mean pre-much anything removed her units. He could be reading a phone book and I would find it amusing that all of that we do not fear sudden death was the one producer J dropped on me last night when I was choking on the honey roasted peanuts that he gave me.

That is never happening again. Ever. I'm never eating what I do have some free sacks that he decided to try to bring out after that.

I've never choked on the first night before, but I nearly choked on those honey roasted peanuts at the mess, don't II mean, don't blink. I could barely speak. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence here on CBS sports radio once a major memorable unforgettable milestone in sports that you feel privileged to have witnessed. I know it's not the case anymore. But you guys remember a couple of years ago, I'd have to go back and remember exactly what season it was withdrew breeze became the all time touchdown leader in NFL history. Now again it's not them. It's not the case anymore.

But he had both the passing yards and the touchdown record for a while. The touchdown records might be like okay to look with the pack member to remember this the passing yards record happened on Monday night football Sunday or Monday night football shoot nothing is what happened. I taught myself it out of things when Drew breeze past Peyton Manning.

He for a while there until John Brady passed him was the leader in career passing yards a Monday night football impressive that you got that so quickly and so I just remember watching that in the Excitement It Took Pl. in New Orleans.

Of course it had to could have taken place anywhere else, and it was on national TV and it was one of those moments gave you chills but also electric and to be able to watch that to watch it live and his interactions with his family, the smiles and of course the Saints fans with their standing ovation ends in their excitement. It was a pretty electric atmosphere and so that was one that I really enjoyed watching in person and person.

Sorry, I really enjoyed watching firsthand not in person. But first, now it's since been eclipsed.

There are some records that maybe you seen that won't be eclipsed. I sometimes lament that I've missed the Golden age. I miss the golden age of baseball's I would have loved to see Ted Williams about 400 or to see the longest hitting streak in baseball history right, some of those things Babe Ruth while we get the modern day version of Babe Ruth sort of way. Show AO Johnny actually had dinner with some friends of mine and their son is a new baseball fan. He's 10 years old and he well first of all, he was asking me all kinds of fun questions likes to quiz me now that he knows what I do for a living sort of. So he asked me if I was to be talking about the Mets and the Yankees on my radio show and I told him yes yes of course I was and then he asked me if I would like to be show. Hey Otani, but he thought he wouldn't because it would be too difficult to both hit and pitch in the same game I like, yeah, the idea but you have seen Joe DiMaggio hit in 56 straight games. We've seen some some guys come close-ish but you have seen that happen would've been pretty amazing, but I was around the 40s and probably a lot of you weren't around in the 40s. So what's one unforgettable memorable sports milestone that your site that you got to see in your lifetime on twitter a lot radio.

Thank you for all of your tweets on Monday and a lot of you are checking out my photos. It's always good to to interact with you either.

They are on our Facebook page after hours with Amy Lawrence and then our phone number is 85521242278552124 CBS oyez memorable unforgettable milestones in sports that you had the chance to witness. I don't necessarily mean imperfect in person but I do love being a witness to history right we have it happens a lot in sports crazy ragged sports have been around forever and yet every year there are accomplishments and achievements that we have never seen before. It's always something fresh and generally new and exciting and no one show is ever like the last one except for all my gosh this summer. We all we did was talk about deflate gay I would never want to do that again. That was the worst summer ever rights of coming up were going to have the chance to get a first person perspective on what Albert pools is doing. Also what Jordan Montgomery has done since he's joined the St. Louis Cardinals was really a one-two punch for the cards in Chicago on Tuesday 11 Mustang 11 pitch is for Nick Madrigal, a ground ball to Albert pools the Bible should fix it up against the first in time for winter is the Cardinals of one game one of this five-game series, one nothing and they wanted to row now. You hear the two voices on Cardinals radio is actually listening live through the last couple innings of the came fact I was texting producer was a breeze, or JR with identity about Jordan Montgomery.

Yeah, I did the fact that he was through eight innings and still was not even at 90 pages and I was thrilled that he was able to get back out there on the mound for the ninth and retired the last batter of the game on a bouncer to first base.

Albert pools on his 99th pitch) when her first time in Jordan Montgomery's career. He's ever pitch past the seventh-inning, a complete-game one-hit shutout when with no walks seven strikeouts only 99 patients. That is the definition of efficiency and how about this and that will get her break Montgomery since he got traded from the Yankees is foreknow for the Cardinals with a .35 ERA so I think in he's out to prove the Yankees made a grave mistake will, but the Aggies did get the upperhand on the Mets on Monday died fee. I'm already advancing past Tuesday, I just there goes the perfect show I'm sorry to disappoint you. It really is just Monday night but it was a pretty impressive Monday night for what Albert pools as well as Jordan Montgomery's doubletalk Cardinals baseball in the NL Central with Katie Wu of the athletic who will join us next on twitter a lot radio what impressive unforgettable memorable sports milestones.

Have you been privileged to see on twitter on Facebook. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio you are listening to the after-hours podcast 120 possible just sure how you first about all week because of computing its monologues is not a defense to explain their roles #old visible grace after-hours Lawrence. He was already a legend.

He was already an MVP. He was already a World Series champion and he was already headed for the Hall of Fame, but the Albert approvals track down history is been really amazing number 693 for him in Chicago. So at Wrigley Field off Drew :-) hear him talk about the pitch that he had yet was a little bit high and Oliver Marmol, the manager who is younger than him giving Albert pools credit for igniting the Cardinals now an eight-game win streak.

The call on Cardinals radio is after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio really excited to add to Chicago now. Welcome Katie Wu covers the Cardinals for the athletic Katie what's it been like to see Albert catch fire and hit now seven home runs in his last 10 games and I think it been a real call from Cardinal play-by-play man to walk with. I made the amount of milestones and accomplishments that he had to rattle off in one home on I think the overwhelming best Albert pools of patent research not dealt with the Cargill name one.

Nothing short of storybook for the state limit fans and really fans and baseball me when the Cardinal decided to bring pool back on a one-year contract and career in state limit.

I think it was really easy for fans that they will clearly uninstall the move from the Cardinal but that's not really what was it all Cardinals were very adamant that they believe that our pool could benefit the team hitting against picking and he had definitely somehow exceeded expectations at a couple places afield to at first base in the late stages to preserve the shutout, along with some of the other defense behind Jordan Montgomery.

When Oliver says that he's igniting the team.

How do you see that how to said how does it work on the field really similar and where happen where the igniting of the payment similar to how igniting fan base any you look at the Cardinals and it's easy to think of the agent with Wainwright school course, but the Corvette Cardinal team got their young 20s mid-20s. That really don't know baseball without a carpool lane with their favorite player and surgeon to the ability of the dominate again. I'm equal to your goal in about 20 you again charge in the clubhouse on the field that enough off the field will first indicate a younger guy, always working only take an extra rep always showing think the vendor guys let me you have players like Dylan Carlton large new bar young outfielders that are going to the future of the Cardinal team, going to pools every advancing what you see here how can I get better.

How can I improve the again it seems storybook. It doesn't seem real and your team Albert pools out of the greatest one last time. I think it's been such a treat for the baseball world. How was it to be at these last few days before they went to Chicago in St. Louis with the buzz in the crowd when you're working games you're constantly checking that your score keeping courier checking twitter box yet not all when the plate is locked and because you don't know what you're going to be. I was actually in the stand with a friend. They find seventh-inning ones will think you're smiley for the third time that hey I got that assessment can happen here and somehow in some way, both surprising and not what oh fantastic Katie Wu is with us from Chicago where the Cardinals and the Cubs just started a five-game series we get history not just of our pools in a home run number 693, but also Jordan Montgomery first time he's ever pitch past the seven dating in his career and he is pitching so got a wonderful since he became a St. Louis Cardinal, what is he have to say for the stretcher which is gone, foreknow with the ERA of .35 really 13 per rotation enter come to trade that land president operating Donna Blalock address that integrating for Montgomery, the Cardinals are combined 70 and start back 08 and no doubt that Montgomery and Donna take an amount for Montgomery had really credited him and he's always not be guilty and could never find the player that could or could you let go deep in game Cardinal needed him to benefit from the five games in four days doubleheader tomorrow bullpen having to cover a lot of any of the last game really Montgomery if that's what you like you'd like to compete you to strike earlier and you credited Gotti or Melina who returned from vendor list and had really carried the rotation terms of stabilizing it. He said that he is never really qualified or Yahoo thought after their first outing and really encourage an emphasis on using all more locating and more to the third-base side of the plate and using his finger to play off of that pay dividends.

Montgomery has been probably one of the best trade in my pickup for the Cardinals in recent history, and he's allowed one earned run in 25 2/3 in the Cargill tenure and is not walked about her in his lap taking any doubt I would say it's right does he ever been to the Yankees or can you not get that out of them you cannot say I was 3 to 3 weeks ago I Cardinal Delta who I want to be like the report that the Yankees were walking on the Cardinal came a really happy you mentioned yachting adages, popped in my brain. It's hard to think about the Cardinals was someone else behind the plate because he's been such a staple for them for so long.

Also 40 years old, who is the heir apparent to Gaddy or Melina as the catcher of the Cardinals request that I'm in the Cardinal improvement when they were there. But they'll prospecting on Herrera long been regarded take over the reins if you will. When yachting or Melina higher than Eric. I don't mean to fill that void.

That is probably an impossible task, but that if and when I got a mentor through training over the off-season you make your little bit away from being majorly ready right now which is make the office.

I think really important for the Cardinal that he will be interesting to see if they decide to trade for catcher or even find you noble thing. Contrary from the cup will be appreciated just kind of bridge that gap. Currently, will be very perplexing decision for the Cardinal to make him he got behind the plate or what ever needs to have the triumvirate if you will with Albert pools being back yachting or Melina and Wainwright, one of my favorite pictures in the majors for everything he brings to the clubhouse as well as to the mound of the three of them all departing writing off of the sons at the same time yet. It's a little that I can remember a time when we seen three such important members of an organization all depart simultaneously. Now I know what I think I Wainwright building paper. Another year I turned 41 again in a month you been the Cardinal date now for two consecutive. In any one event that led the work worth the Cardinal began his have to carry more weight with jocularity gone very though. I mean Wainwright that he I don't think you made a decision yet, but it certainly will. I think building a case or if you want to come back for 2023. Katie Wu covers the Cardinals for the athletic with us from Chicago, fresh off that big one nothing win that extended the street to eight games. What else is behind the surge.

Katie, the matter of the Cardinal finally found a consistent beginning in the first half with 13 they really didn't have an answer and form of the rotation. I mean not big acquisition would have been hurt month of the year they expected jocularity that I mentioned that return and be the eighth of the rotation both of been hindered by injury mouth like a remarkable comeback for the last 18 months, mentoring analyzing I am. You can't allow Adam Wainwright Mount Michael five-member case you need to gather that back to what how the Cardinals addressed the trade deadline. Obviously they were linked from one photo and then they went better. Obviously they got to durable, reliable. Veteran pitcher Anton and Montgomery have received a pleasant location and rejuvenated clubhouse and you ask any player, no matter the general goal and know if they started picking up the cattle that Cardinals are known from a fault defense for his team, but there often than very productive. I mean, I have probably the nestling MVP and Paul Goldsmith and some of the public. The top three in the evening and on our auto and they just seem to be clicking all at the same time.

I think what you're seeing now is a team that is convicted they can win because they have the that they were missing so direly in the expectation that clarity could be back in the rotation before the end of the regular season disease. He's pitching AA right AA, AAA yeah third rehab turn affected with AA Springfield and he played it for the rehab start with AAA Memphis on Friday I'll be right on this 80 pages the Cardinal helping activate and even right after that start, or maybe doing one afternoon, how he recovered but is eligible to come up down on that Cargill will likely wait until the temper first when raw dance, the corresponding middle and he'll be thought of right back into the rotation of doing that, he recovered well and healthy, and I could not think of a bigger boot. Cardinal seen our pool going for 700 leaving the division and their eight pitcher coming back and leaving the rotation for the final month of the you go to ask Walter something to say I was surprised when the Cardinals made the managerial change is clear that Oliver Marmol had been working toward this opportunity.

They really like him in the organization is not new in baseball even if this is his first managerial job at the big-league level. What did he bring to the table but different from what they had different perspective and different look tire manager were unwilling to embrace the modern game and in the Cardinals are very traditional ballclub but I think we all brought in that mixture up keeping up with tradition. I mean he would player in the Cardinal them you come over the last decade is the Cardinal through and through. We understand the importance of attrition of the organization, but you don't know how but even trending the modernization of everything analytic of the matchup and the split and line of fluidity in the Cardinal have never really done before.

Usually, and any require you to the same starting 915. The picture would change the court that the conditions of the players in the batting order would not change this.

Cardinal seems like there is so much more fluidity and flexibility. There is no nine. There different positions based on left-handers right-handers seen the groundbreaking client nor that the unit back to you improvement and I think that Cardinals players and organizations really benefit from two analytic Starwood analytics have indicated that after the first half, in which pools had six home runs. They don't want to tear like this in the second half.

I don't think at the same time, Amy truly not driving when you look at the caliber of player. All I know is that it must watch right now you are not the end of your fan and you find yourself in the city where the Cardinals are plain is actually working our pool time a little amazing.

I'm so happy for him so happy for the Cardinals, and certainly for the St. Louis fan base that he's back doing it where he belongs, that I'm convinced Dino Oliver Marmol is to convince that he's going to get 700 there could be no better storyline to this summer. You can find Katie on Twitter at Katie J. Wu, W00 I just followed her, so you should too. Covers the Cardinals for the athletic is in Chicago. Following another big night for this team on both amount as well. As with Albert pools. It's great to get W Katie, thank you so much for a couple minutes. You have a great night you two was fun because she's like a Cardinals encyclopedia which is amazing. I love how she indicates that right now or ever, the Cardinals are whether it's at home or in Chicago when pools get to the dish. Well, everything stops and people pay attention that includes conversation so good stuff all right.

He is going to get 700 him to speak it every night that we have the opportunity because there are still five full weeks plus the left in the regular season. He's got seven to go, but A-Rod is up next. What an impressive unforgettable memorable sports milestone that you're so pleased you had the chance to witness. Whether it's a first in terms of a team accomplishment or whether it's something like this where Albert pools is making his assault on baseball immortality on Twitter a lot already owned a producer Jay is retreating from our show account after our CBS and then you can find us on Facebook as well on her phone number 855-212-4227.

It's after hours with Amy Lawrence this is Paul. You are listening to the after-hours podcast will all know why you recall use these rollers. Lawrence, the boys of John Sterling in the world and cook in may not always matter in baseball below home cooking with a massive crowd for the third game of the subway series 1st two happened at Citi Field last month and now they are in the Bronx Yankees are able to hold off.

Not only are they able to score gets vectors are able to hold off any come back from Metz on this night of back-to-back wins for the Yankees now is Aaron Judge it's number 47, but don't tell him that it's a home runs router all overlaid streak causes worry about those girls.

Not only did Aaron hit a homerun.

He was super for Andrew been intending to for three with a couple of RBI. He starting to perform more like he did. He was with the Royals really being a table set or just getting on base its not necessarily a skill that is valued in baseball these days. B can see how important it is when you've got a guy who can hit for average as well as get on the base paths. Now if you think back to the last battle between the Mets and the Yankees at the field masters or got the best of the Yanks as well as Aaron Judge personally.

You may remember he struck out three times against mad Max in their last meeting roles produce an account and saw the word uses all quadrants collectively shrugs on his drive to come along so little Christmas play with the picture. Picture control for selection on the petitioner along with the sword. So it's good to get a couple wins against the really good opponents and in good pictures but it's kind of now, on to the next one and keep her head down and keep going to dig ourselves out and get ourselves back to plan not really consistent brand of all and in all phases masters or allows for runs to the Yankees on seven hits. He only had three strikeouts, which is interesting for him and the last couple starts. I would say he's been locked in though he generally is successful regardless he does pay to the seventh inning didn't get a lot of run support. And that's what Buck Showalter chose to highlight even if this wasn't a typical mad Max outing Robichaux's schools program was so hard to do our level. The mountain I'm sure he'll be good again another chance to work two things are no-nonsense on the ball in response to some books loss and move on. Trafford out.

So in this installment of the subway series the Yankees get the best of the mats. Though this is just their 11th win in 31 games will see they can put yet another win on the board against the Mets on Tuesday. Interestingly enough, Jacob McGraw will not start on Tuesday for the Mets instead they're putting Taiwan Walker back in the lineup and so do grounds been bumped and will not face the Yankees on this round. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio.

I am blown away by the number of tweets and Facebook posts we've already seen in response to our question, and producer Jay is retreating from our show account after our CBS. What's the most impressive memorable incredible moment or milestone in sports that you had a chance to witness and I don't necessarily mean in person. I just mean one that you're thrilled you were able to see with your own two eyes. As a witness to history. So whether it's Twitter or Facebook were to try to share as many of these as we can.

Our friend Jerry Paul who is getting ready for college football. He is awake and tweeting. He said in part that he saw Walter Payton's 275 yards rushing disco demolition night and on TV. Of course, the cubs ending their century long actually more than a century long drought and finally winning the World Series, squeeze in a couple calls here before the top 855-212-4227. Barry is in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, very welcome to the show.

I like honored moments. Have a great one will probably some of the right pools current drug court. I remember always Richard playing baseball 13 noodle and was very very cold in New Hampshire but would you my dog got to watch all is phenomenal. I wish I had seen that you member the date all early April.

In the early 70s don't I don't I just looked it up. I just wondered if you remembered it.

I remember the time. I remember I was playing baseball diamond module. So when one it was April 8, 1974 and that was the day that he passed Babe Ruth on baseball's all-time list with number 715 bedroom and it was all going out into a dark that some that's awesome. I'm really jealous that you got to see that Barry, thank you so much for sharing that memory with us and you go about with Matt the motion motion were more sure that the mysterious group are you referring to his telling us all about the Iditarod good okay what we are immortalizing on our YouTube channel.

If you want to let anyone else listen to it to share it. Thanks, very good to talk to you a check in with Jack in Green Bay welcomed after hours to about 90 seconds. What was your memorable moments will remember it what you will go on. Imagine wearing a Green Bay Packers uniform and running out of the tunnel at Lambeau Field for 200 conflict doors are far you made it to 297 conflict that will never be broken.

But never forget I'll never forget what he rattled in a total of over 200 start over the complete Iron Man. You will really talk to do that many games that were also good for a car that one little number be broken. I can agree with you there.

Do you member the date I do not yes I lifted up November 29, 2004, and not only did he celebrate 200 consecutive starts. He threw three touchdowns.

Of course that's awesome will thank you for reminding us of that, Jack. I appreciate it grow. I'm looking forward to being in Green Bay for a couple of shows following week two of the NFL season will be up there to see family and visit my Grammys gravesite not in Green Bay but after I do that I'm going to attend to Packers Bears on Sunday night football at Lambeau Field. This will be my first ever regular-season appearance at Lambeau, and even if you're not a huge sports fan in Wisconsin.

Everyone follows the Packers to Grammy didn't love football. She asked me a lot of questions about football. She didn't love it, but she always watch the Packers with my uncle or with the friends that she had in the various places. She lives so she would be pleased that I'm attending Lambeau then to show some Green Bay as well. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence CBS sports radio
