One game down one 272. I know that were supposed to care so passionately about all the scores in week number one. And yes because of the NFL and there are only 17 games every game counts, but I'm just so happy that football is back real football games and scores that matter. That right now I just I just basking in that glow from Los Angeles and so by Stadium that Von Miller just called the best stadium in the NFL.

It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio or live from the rocket mortgage Studios you need to know what it takes for a home to fit your budget and your family rocket can the Buffalo Bills survive four turnovers for takeaways by the Los Angeles Rams.

They pose more than 400 offense of yard and Josh Allen Chuck.baby's works works wonders one so it is completed.

To position down there is just 41 seconds left to begin here Lawson home in Buffalo. Kevin Harlan on Westwood One and that John Murphy, the radio voice of the Buffalo Bills. It's after hours on CBS sports radio.

What is the after-hours game of the week the bowl is up on twitter Ehlo radio and also on our Facebook page and no were not slighting you and your team. If it's not the pole. We only get four options on twitter and believe you me, it's a difficult and challenging to pick one. Every week at least would have to worry about including bills and radios because it's already in the books, and to give us these scene sets and the rams a reaction from Los Angeles. Our friend Michael Duarte who covers all things, a sports in LA for NBC LA Michael I got to ask how do the rams make this the actual Rams house because that is the hashtag on Twitter and it certainly does seem like all the big games of the rams plague in their own stadium their brand-new so by Stadium.

There are just as many loud fans for the opposing teams you hire me and welcome back from your little vacation individual mama glad to have you back on air and I would state of the grant whose house how mantra rallying cry if you want to call it that they do here. So by state. It was probably one of the worst in sports right people you share the radio so it's not your charger called the home as well, and especially on the NFL. Open on Thursday night football. It was a bill take over and they took over the house and robbed you of all of your things and left you stranded cupboards bear so I thought it was at least 50-50. Build fans to Rams fans that I started telling everybody in the press box might my cohort fund on the local television affiliates here wait until that final touchdown with it went up 31 attended scored and we can now watch all the Rams fans here in LA had for the exit. The mall will really get a chance to see how many build fans there were because honestly the rams blue and the build was very similar blues.

We couldn't really tell who was who. Just looking at the stadium, but once the blowout was on. We saw the Rams fans had for the exit. You really got to see the build Mafia in full support and just how well they travel, which I was very impressed by myself. Rams react to that to having such a loud presence for opponents in their own stadium.

Great question. One question I actually asked Matthew Stafford, myself after the game. How do they prepare for it they actually do. They believe knowing that the bills are one of those teams that travel very well. All the 49ers also travel very well so by Stadium and I'm sure there's a few other fan bases out there that we could mention that travel well want to come to LA, the thing that you mentioned and you and you said in the teams right I would take Von Miller a step further, that the greatest stadium in the NFL greatest stadium audibly in the world about the technology involved the money that went into it. $5 billion, and just the weather. When you factor in the weather of Southern California. The proximity to the beach, the proximity to LAX, you have a beautiful sunset here in the summer in Los Angeles with planes flying overhead. We had a heat wave here Amy so the rams office was just as inconsistent as the weather, but it wasn't that hot today.

One day the temperature dropped about 1015°, and so to answer your question there prepared for fans to travel well. They were prepared for the build Mafia to travel well and be breaking some of those plastic tables in the parking lot during the tailgate. What they did was all we can practice think they practice the silent count similar. What they did the Super Bowl.

It's similar to what they do when they travel on the road in hostile environments like they are traveling to New Orleans later this year. I'm sure though you that I would count New Orleans and they did in the in the 49ers. The empty championship as well so they were prepared for and they had to switch to that. I look out early in this game of the bills fans got louder and especially late in the game. Once the bill started to to really take over and the route was on Michael Duarte of NBC LA is with us post season opener for the NFL at the home of the Super Bowl champion rams. It's after hours on CBS sports radio choose to hold one of those Super Bowl rings. I have had a chance to meet we had Jacobs jewelers who came in and did the ring they came into our station and let it fall and put it on. Now I will say we got we didn't get a players ring that executives ring to cut a show around so I heard the players are even bigger than the ring that we got to see a couple people today in the press box.

People haven't seen the last seven months of the Super Bowl showed me there ring people who work for the rams little bit smaller but still impressive nonetheless. I'm surprised there where you because that's something I would put in a safe deposit thing or lock in a state that is a very expensive ring is very big. It wager handout but is beautiful and another cool thing today with the needed Rams championship banner unveiled the rams you went the extra mile and having another banner made up for the 1999 championship when they were the vent St. Louis Rams those banners will now live adjacent to each other side-by-side in the South side of the stadium forever, supposedly, and I wonder what the charges are to do here this Sunday so the parents will stay up while they're playing the Raiders and there is funny but it's what happens right you have to share stadiums. Well, you can't take down everything when you flip it so it's interesting the rams obviously are a team that's got a bunch of moving parts, and even as they kick off the season I another they're missing a couple of of guys because of injuries they hope to get back. It was getting though to see Andrew Wentworth there with the mental body trophy and an old Dell Beckham Junior standing right next to him in pregame. Did you know he was there with you to be there but I was actually on the field when he walked out. I didn't get them fast enough, but I got my phone ready and fallen a little bit for the video on Instagram. I think on twitter about my tick-tock as well go Dell Beckham Junior Howdy Matthew Stafford of the person they saw each other before the game and so I have that any other interesting thing here. Amy is I would get that old Dell Beckham Junior once you fully healthy and ready to return this Stephen probably after the buy. We can look at maybe week eight or nine, similar to when he was cut by the Browns and sign with the Rand the region last year that that these are the two teams of the top of his list. We know Von Miller is best buddy who recruited him to the rams is now on the bills trying to recruit them to the build and he tweeted out after the game just how impressive the build Mafia look with their fans and just tell the build looked on the field.

He must've been impressed with what he saw from Josh Allen and in the past as he was growing to those receivers like Stefon Diggs gave Davis and and then you look at the rams to have a walker at their practice facility in Thousand Oaks for LDL Beckham Junior is still there. His nameplate is on it. They have jerseys and stuff in there. They are waiting for his return.

I'm sure guys were recruiting him tonight. Gary was with the body trophy doing the banner unveiling so these are the two teams I think at some point, one of the two he'll be deciding between. I think you'll end up on one of these two probably the rams of if you look at tonight as far as who needs a receiver but behave enter Wentworth. They deftly could have you think that I am in my opinion, was decided in the trenches Matthew Stafford back seven times the most he's ever been sacked as a member of the rams. I think the most like in early 2018 season with the Detroit Lions so that is not a number that the rams want to see their quarterback, especially with his his ailing elbow on the turf all that much, so they use enter Wentworth and Odell Beckham Junior licensing on the field tonight. We know LBJ loves to be loved. He loves to be courted. He loves to be the center of attention. So, no doubt easy to milk this for all it's worth all the ice is actually a nightclub at Sophia Stadium on the south side of the stadium in the corner of the end zone is called Gucci bellowed actual club here in Hollywood as well and they cut to the cameras and then you're probably not be surprised to see him go back in your party's during the day with a lot of people around Michael Duarte from Los Angeles following the NFL season opener is after hours on CBS sports radio saw the tweet that you retweeted from Cooper cup reflect rectify respond to this is not a situation, the rams have been in under Sean McVeigh first on the never lost the season opener. What are they to say about what they do now or where they go from here. Great question Amy and I expected there to be more excuses than a John Gruden apology is this game weren't. It was all Sean McVeigh taking on full responsibility, a word I saw many players say in the postgame comments I'm talking about Jaelyn Ramsey. Very frankly said we got our butts beat, and not in those same words I just used but but from Cooper Kopp to Bobby Wegner to Matthew Stafford to Sean McVeigh. Everybody said it was humbling. This was a humbling experience.

And when you're the chance when you're coming off of historic season and winning it on your field and all the dreams come true to be beaten like this in your home stadium on the night that your banner was unveiled in the last time you probably would celebrate that at championship run from last year to be beaten this badly. It definitely was a wake-up call. I also tweeted out that I was standing right next to the locker room and the press conference and were literally sharing the wall the right next to each other.

I heard Sean McVeigh go in there and laid his team seem valid. I can't repeat what he said because I don't have that many expert is in my vocabulary, but there was a lot of them but what I can tell you I heard I heard him say he promised, then this will never happen again. He promised them this, loss like this would never happen again.

The way that they didn't prepare. He didn't feel like something made until he had his team prepared. He didn't feel like he was telling he was outcoached by Sean McDermott. So all of these things, he took ownership or like I said everybody really felt like this was a truly humbling experience for them, and eat like we mentioned, I think they got affixes on the offense of the defense of Linux think they were not prepared for the pressure of the bills were able to put on them with a four-man front, led by Von Miller, of course, who may have some inside information could be my guess that old line a lot this last year may have been able to pass that on to his teammates.

Now, with the build the biggest take away I saw and I saw stat on the online Amy what Josh Allen got the ball got rid of the ball and 2.37 seconds on average.

And that's including the times you know he carried in and was outside the pocket and make plays with his feet were as Matthew Stafford held the ball too long. A lot of those facts he took about seven we mentioned, I think, could have been avoidable had he gotten rid of the ball quicker and so that's one big thing that looking at the trenches right here on both offense and defensive line.

The rams need to improve moped moving forward. Out of curiosity was the pressroom soul.

When Sean McVeigh was going on his initial tirade, all you absolutely as I would say most of us tried to go against the wall and literally year against the wall. I was actually told please go to picture the postgame want to call it. It was more of a tirade of a chewing out but also like him him taking responsibility for, and we heard all the clichés in the book. Once he went to the podium after that, he has to be better. You need to have his team more prepared and he takes full ownership for the loss and he wears it. Were talking about a guy entering this game. Amy was a perfect five you know you can openers and tenure as a the rams head coach and this was his first ever season-opening loss and there's one thing that was interesting about that stat right so entering this game. That's five straight years later they won the opener and we know Sean McVeigh famously doesn't plan even starting players in the preseason, but I can tell you that a lot of guys look incredibly rusty out there tonight including the offense of line of the RAM not prepared to block that that builds front for including Jaelyn Ramsey, who was coming off of off shoulder surgery.

He really didn't get a lot of rest. She's probably still working himself back in the game shape obviously didn't play all the preseason play in training camp or in practice or anything so he's really not up to it and I saw stat where he got in time that he was targeted by Josh Allen. He was targeted seven time six of those were completions for hundred 24 yards and two touchdowns. I know swivel were big plays but Jaelyn Ramsey got exposed tonight Michael Duarte for many reasons but one of them has got to be the fact that he will stand on a wall with his ear next to it to hear what's happening. This is how you get the real inside information is true. I love it. Okay before I let you go. I genuinely do not know the answer to this.

I know if there is any answer.

You will have it.

What's a bigger right now. Is it the Dodgers and their enormous lead atop the NL West and all of their World Series aspirations or is it rams starting off defense of their title went to great question right now.

I have to say it the heatwave because it has avoiding anywhere where they have to be outside and he but the Dodgers in my opinion are about a week away here from clinching igniter now the magic number six as my conscience and they are playing the team that's behind them. So if they were to sweep the Padres this weekend in San Diego, which I will be there. By the way, if you need anything if they were to sweep the Padres.

They will have clinched the NL West on Sunday. That'll be there night division crown in the last 10 years so I think once that happened, dodger fans will really get excited. I think that's good to be at the forefront.

They have the best record in baseball. They are on pace to potentially shatter the franchise record in wind and instill the all-time MLB record is still within sight right now. The don't think they'll get it deftly still in the possibility may lead almost every offense of category. Major league baseball so fans are really hoping that this is the year they can do it they can kind of put all the people that that talk about the bubble title to bed. Interesting.

I asked Michael not that long ago over a text when he ever takes time off and the answer was, well, I didn't this year because the All-Star break was in LA so no rest for you Mike. I don't know how you do it you like the Energizer Bunny like a MasterCard him him everywhere you want to be. My guys have a gender use that line only a couple first time on national radio so find Michael on twitter at Michael J. Duarte. He is award-winning for many reasons. Like the back and he'll put his ear to a wall to get inside info covers Dodgers and Rams and everything else for NBC LA it's always good to talk to you Mike. Stay cool out there you to give your animals a big hug for me. I will do that now see another reason why Mike is her favorite. Good night Mike by so we don't always get this with our guests but I love the fact that Mike always listens before he comes on the air and pays attention and he also sends me gifts of Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump so no one else does that. He's the best right so you've got the game of the week pole already up already rocking on twitter a lot radio and then on her Facebook page. Two were getting lots of responses like riding a bike, though I'm sure me to say something that doesn't fit the football vernacular at some point, simply because I have to remember my terms and remember that rhythm and find it again but it's good to have football back and better than never. We hope right. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio you are listening to the after-hours podcast make the most of our time. I have a female voice on sports radio you so go make the rules around here you are you every morning on my way to work and I millions of other reports like you all to show deeds after-hours with Lawrence 12 back. It's just the beginning. I mean it with all my heart that I'm so excited to have football back and then there are times when it feels so overwhelming as well because I know what's coming. It's marathon Sundays into Monday and I said in the bazillion times I will say it again working football Sunday night is one of the reasons why choose to stay in this time slot.

Why choose to remain where I am, had opportunities to change timeslots and I do not want to give up Sunday night through the NFL season, but they are chaotic. They are hectic and they can be overwhelming really excited though that producer J is got here under his belt because this time last year. He was just a pretty what you remember about this time last year and the fact that football was underway that the issue probably had no idea what you're in for like nine. It was a little bit of a blur, because I was also the same time as always was going on getting the students schedule getting used to working full-time to me. So there's a lot going on but don't fly well you think I do. We won't tell him any different. Will let him think that is so we have to figure out our survivor island no survive. Well, our office survivor pool. I will savor survivor island I went with the ravens over the Jets. I don't love it. I really know what to do about it though because right now we don't know what any of these teams are. I just know that the Jets erred don't have their starting quarterback in their starting Joe Flack oh, and I don't know.

It's good to be just, I don't think I don't think that if if the Jets had Zach Wilson even that this would be a game in which they be favored but would Joe Flack oh it's he's got cinderblocks for feet right and so it is a really know the ravens that well anymore.

He knows certainly knows little of Lamar Jackson knows John Harbaugh, but the team is turned over so much, but I worry because the receiving corps for the ravens is extremely young and green so that's my big scare but that's the one I'm going with on survivor island. But what we doing for office pool and I want to go with the ravens one, but a part of it just seems like too easy. Okay, great.

Don't try to talk me out of this last hour I will of the Jets are to where love is true, but now it's like out there in the world and in existence little get a little tentative you your genius is all I got. So let's just talk about what happened earlier, shall we suit J is he's all excited about Josh Allen because as I made fun of him yesterday on the show. He got really excited over eager and drafted Josh Allen in the third round of his fantasy draft. Okay, late third round because that makes a difference. I did, I accurately say third-round yet so third-round it wasn't that late.

You were picking number six words you okay currently around 14 or whatever it is. Anyway, he picks them middle of the third round and initially is like jazzed up, and then has buyers remorse right away.

So of course when he looks like a genius after the season opener. Actually not even after the season opener after the first quarter. He looks like a genius because Josh Allen complete his first 10 passes. He's already got a touchdown to Gabe Davis. He's he is like flying high and by this I mean producer J he is on cloud nine and the second is that the attacks about how Josh out is crushing it he throws an interception within seconds the time I read it so that this interception was on Josh. It was a ball that went right through the hands of his receiver out member who was blind right away I get this text back about how he jinxed it in all capital letters. Yes, J because you had something to do with that receiver letting him over there is. I put it out there and what happened within seconds of the single judge on killing how smart do I look interception you didn't to your own heart, you just set Josh out I wasn't I wasn't sliding the pic anymore.

I was no better. All about it, basking in the glow of Josh Allen but I can't say that anymore no more text like that because I was doing well discuss universe to judge on its so no more to do your own horn is what you're saying is I don't believe that for the second does not explain the survivor pool pic that we need other than to say that you're nervous because you think it's too easy seems to ravens over the Jets seems little to where we going instead maybe the Niners betray lances first start as official starter scares me a little bit silly ready week one.

Why is it that all of the teams that would seem to be quote unquote easy to remember is the NFL's week one. There's no such thing as a cupcake. Anyway, all the ones that seem to be easy are on the road. That's what makes you notice Philadelphia's in Detroit. San Francisco is in Chicago would say Green Bay is in Minnesota came up well Dallas.net Dallas defense better show up Denver in Seattle so all the teams that you would think it would be heavily favor the teams are heavily favored there on the road so the one where I don't think I will be much of an issue will be the Niners when there are more freedom you want to go to Niners in Chicago a little bit to something the bears are able to beat the Niners defense on the score many points, such as where I think Lance can do enough Marco can you weigh in here. The two that I would look at. I know you don't like the road games doesn't bother me as much Denver and Seattle.

I'd be stoned if the Nike stoned and I we all survivor island if they did not also be very very surprised the Texans could be pickles stoned now, but also a game that is I get it. It's also inside it. It's endorses careers not running first game, I get it, you can have all this. Yet we go around and around and around the NFL this week. One the Colts and the Broncos to me would be to pretty easy. Please say how do you feel about the Colts in Houston. I don't mind the cold, Jim. I'm actually a big Davis
