Alan Y using pastor Bible teacher and author of his latest book, the power to bless his name right.

You're just tired and what you really need is some rest. Refreshment. So this is part of the problem of perseverance. How do you know is that you're just tired and your spouse take a break from all that rest right now versus your tired take another step as you find your excited for you to hear the teaching today. In the series.

Second, when it is presented with an old church in North Carolina not able to throughout the entire program to make sure you know how to get our special resource right now. A copy of Pastor Alan's book lover of my soul. Contact us at pastoralan.org that's pastor and Margie or call 877-544-4860 that's 877-544-4860. More on that later in the program but now let's get started with today's teaching here is how I pressed through a little bit difficult. And now every day I'm trying to learn something new I want me better than I ever was to get my fingers are going to positions that they they don't want to go in and at first it's frustrating you know a nice ever try to learn anything you know it's frustrating because I can't do it in their something is like not fun to not be able to do it if you just try a little bit and then instantly succeed to pick up the next day. It is like in the car you know what you call barring a court of your index finger and you press down all the strings and and you other things with your finger hard honestly and so the first course just terribly sound awful. And then stand and then playing Doobie Brothers Long train running so I is coming back. There's a paradox I'm saying of pain because yeah on the one hand pain is there to teach you what to avoid. To understand this thing where there is pain exposed to press through the coming weeks. But let me start with this. I'm asking the Lord a lot about this study and the Scripture.

I think it mainly boils down to this. I think I got a lot more learn about answering that question, how do you know there's for the pain exposed. Avoid stop versus press through and I think it's this is a difference between a call from God that… Are glad obedience to a direction that is given us versus a fleshly commitment to personal ambition is a big difference. In other words, the things that God calls you to. You know he's called you to. It there may be pain on that journey and you just press through it.

There other things in life that it what about God's call is just something that's in your own mind or your own flash and sometimes experience pain and that you go out when I think that's not a place where we need a lot of discernment about that many a lot of discernment about his there's another paradox when it comes to this, the problem of perseverance and dealing with the temptation of giving up and it is another paradox outside the paradox of exhaustion. The paradox of the entire because again, similarly to the issue of pain. The fact of the matter is it lots of times more tired.

You know, we need to give into the tiredness and get some rest. We have a joke and are and I have a joke that we repeat each other a lot because there was a guy in my first church that I served many years ago in Durham they call when he was 90.

He still plowed his garden with the mule.

Claude was unbelievable a lot. I was I was 27. Claude was in better shape than I was. I mean it was if he was on the phases of pastoral is I just get to be around all the generations even when I was a young man I just find some I this old and healthy, and I had to do it was going on here.

I might've been at his 90th birthday and I think Claude is telling about how you do it had him he was sick, email me here you are looking your credit whereby you still plan on going with them. You still out there. Many like 90 down chopping wood stuff you and he said well he said you know pastor said when when you've had a long day and you been working hard and you feeling tired and you come in that nice air-conditioned house and you see the couch over there and you just want to go and just sit on that count.

Just just lie there for a while. I think you said don't do it if you don't do it so you like movie is funny about it is that there is a time for just taking a nap.

I had an associate one time who got into a difficult season of his life. And so we went to see one of the most profound and wise spiritual counselors to go and deal with some of what with the deep deep issues that were going on in his life and after their first session together. The counselor said you don't need me, you just need a nap. That is such a thing right but you're just tired and what you really need is some rest and refreshment.

So this is part of the problem of perseverance. How do you know when it is that you just tired and your spouse take a break from all that rest right now versus your tired and you need to take another step as you find your second wind full trick he takes discernment. I think that when God is leading you to keep going on and it's not just a matter of OU.

It's the difference it's a spiritual thing is the difference between knowing the voice that your hearing about why you should pause and come back to this in coming weeks, but I think it's this.

I think when you hear an inner voice that feels like a tone of despair that has just laced with all those hopeless things that when you're not supposed to get God's invitation to rest is more like come to me all you are heavily I give you rest is more like where to keep going but I'm to give some refreshment, but the way the devil speaks to us is look at you yeah you think you're going to make it to the finish line. But you're not your tired, just get blessed voice of despair.

So I think the problem of perseverance, everyone feels temptation to give up everyone gets tired even you still stumble and fall in young men shall fall exhausted and there's a paradox of pain and exhaustion with Some discernment about what this text is really about is the provision for perseverance and then we will just camp out on this in coming weeks. Isaiah 4028 stitches glorious isn't it.

It's like a response from from the Lord through the prophet Isaiah. All questions people that were in exile in Babylon. We have been in Babylon now for a long time and they're not at their whole day not in their temple. They don't have their trees. They don't have their sacrifices like they don't know what to do with themselves.

How long is this going to go and and and and have you not known if you remember who God's right will have more teaching moment from today's important series. Glad you've heard about it with you. You believed in mind while experiencing the left but of myself as a love story from beginning to end spiritual bride of Christ, the perfect bike. The gospel is shared when you get to Alan Wright Ministries. This broadcast is only possible because of listener financial support. When you get today. We will send you a special offer. We are happy to send this to you as I thanks from Alan Wright Ministries, seven 877-544-4860 877-544-4861 come to our website pastor out and got to work teaching you once again is Yahweh your God.

The name of God in the mental terms. Yahweh, the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not think his understanding is unsearchable.

If you want to have renewed strength you want to persevere whole foundation of right here Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends there.

See does not grow weary. God doesn't run out anything because God can't be tired and weary means something really important about the way that we see God is fundamentally different than the way we see any other person or any other resource in this world.

Isaiah 40 is just completely see God whole different light. Anyone else in your life any other thing in your life. All earthly providers. We know the weary people to skip weary for some.

If you need something from somebody at some point the weary.

If there's a resource you need, you know, at some point is scarce and it runs out.

But God, the everlasting God literally that he was since he's the God of the ages, not just this moment. See him in a bigger scope are circumstances when their difficult pain of it makes us get so focused on what's happening right now that Isaiah say lift your eyes up to the one who is not confined by a moment in time and he is also the God of the land's not just the God of your homeland God over Babylon. He's got over the ends of the earth is transcendent is awesome. He's being if you're feeling alone in Babylon you're not if you're wondering if God just isn't making sense to you in this moment on the music you will understand God in the long game God in the long term vision. These not swayed by the momentary affliction is when you start to see this really see from the scope and you can come to the place. I consider these temporary afflictions, not even comparing that awaits us.

No comparison. If you could keep the vision of God's reason is hard to understand or believe that God doesn't get weary because it's hard to understand the idea of a creator he created everything that exists nothing. The fact that God and God alone can create something out of nothing to do that we can make something out of metal and make something out of it. We take a piece of furniture we we can take some food from the ground and making a beautiful face. We can't make something out of nothing… And the fact that God can do. That means that we could wrap her mind around this. He is not the source of your energy. He is energy. He is not a giver of light in the darkness.

He is light. See, it might make sense to save my car has run out of gas. If the tank is empty. But what does it make sense is to say the gas is out of gas know it is gas fuel fuel.

Jesus said I am the way, I am the truth I am the life you have to change your way of thinking is not like God is really big and therefore he has a lot it's not like saying how fast the oceans are we will run out of water is not like saying the sun is in its burning brilliant run out of light. We know that even the biggest things were talking spatially talking about capacity God totally different than that he is the life see when he speaks. Let there be light is because he he is the energy of the cosmos. PE is the light he's one in whom we live and move and have our being is our Alpha and Omega.

He's are all at all.

There is no one who is like these, not just bigger and better. These altogether different glorious.

Keep your eyes on is an invitation to wait expectantly. Those who wait upon the Lord. Some translations say those who hope in the Lord. The reason is because this word wait, it doesn't mean light weight like you are waiting in the line at the DMV is trying to pass the time is not what this word means.

It means waiting with expectant hope of what's going on waiting to be able to have my fingers work a little better and play that next court that I'm trying to play and I'm going to be able to but I might. It might take me another week before I can get that down if I just keep waiting power of God gets released in the midst of weight weakness. Verse 29 he gives power to the faint, and do them as no might he increases strength. He specializes in perfecting his strength in our weaknesses, so it's a re-interpretation of our exhaustion.

I'm tired. Oh great.

This is where God's. I feel like giving up all great.

This is where I get to do work in a huge blessing is embedded into this. Yeah, those who wait shall mount up with wings like eagles and studying eagles a little bit this week. You know that there are bald eagles that nest along the Yadkin River and I live there the Yadkin River and twice in the last four years I was sitting on my back deck and a bald eagle came in perched branch in a tree in my yard believable. I had our friends. Bishop JC hash enjoy hash over for the first time to our house couple years ago they were seeing our new place and we had dinner together, fellowship, and he said this is beautiful. Should you ever see wildlife out here. I said oh yeah, sometimes I do see some beautiful things back and we stepped on the back deck and is if God was listening in on the conversation.

A bald eagle flew in landed on a branch in front of us when they spread their wings. Scientists have studied how every pinion is designed to catch the currents and navigate with precision. They soar they do not flap hardly ever a few flapping of the wings early on, to get them, but there are two kinds of updrafts, thermal updrafts, changes in heat in the atmosphere the calls updrafts in their updrafts that come because of geographical, geological formations, mountains and winds hit it and then bring the updrafts and ego is expert in waiting on the drafts they navigate the win's and extend those massive weight books and so those who wait expectantly, knowing that God has good things in store wait upon the Lord wait upon removal of the spirit wait upon the second when will mount up, not as those that are flapping with fatigue, but like an eagle.

Sometimes we do need a nap. Some things we are supposed to quit doing and abandon. But most of the time. Beloved, we give up one minute to her God has come at the end of this long year of pandemic to say to the body of Christ whole don't think it's waste and whatever you do don't give up now. Something good is on the way. Look for wait for it and spread your wings's because if not out of 10 people give you just don't give you are already in the top 10% of the gospel. Pastor Alan sporting good news thought for the day and messed realm at your word for those who are waiting to sort it sounds good right about now the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
