In the end it points us to the gospel for is also stored about the nature and power of the gospel that's Pastor Alan Wright welcome to another message of good news that will help you see your life in a whole new light. More on this later in the program but now let's get started with today's teaching years, Allen Wright good news and there's one true living God and he does not hesitate to prove it. God never intended to leave us guessing as to who the true God as in fact when you become a Christian.

The very first work of the Holy Spirit is to start whispering to you spirit to spirit, your child of God, a miracle taken place got a supernatural God. He does miraculous things and when you move from having mental assent to Christian truths to having the experience of God's grace. So many things change, and today we continue our series about this miracle man Elijah his life in so many ways points us to the true miracle man.

Jesus and see one of the great miracle stories in the Bible that is displaying God's power, but also displaying the gospel one my favorite stories first Kings chapter 18. I wanted to start by reading a few verses in the heart of the story.

But then throughout the summer when you go back and when you look at the whole story… Start with this at first Kings chapter 18 verse 21. Elijah came near to all the people and said how long would you go limping between two different opinions if the Lord is God, follow him, but involve all then follow him and the people did not answer him a word Elijah said the people I even I only, and left a prophet of the Lord, but false profits of 450 men let tuples be given to us and let them choose one both themselves and cut into pieces and laid on the wood fire to it not be available later on the wood and put no fire did you call upon the name of your God, and I will call on the name of the Lord and the guy who answered by fire.

He is God and the people answered. It is well spoken, was a good week for college basketball and I wanted a college basketball is been a good week for basketball and I just I would you some some you thought I was all about Carolyn being due. Something about your lobbying state.

Maybe you thought I was talking about my Baylor Bears beat Kansas. They lost 11 times straight to Kansas and finally this week they meet Kansas become handling menu file, no I wasn't talking about that and talk about different basketball contests this week. Pastor Chris and I were at the Y also business and you know Pastor Chrissy play basketball's whole life scholarship to college for basketball.

Blah blah blah and we're walking through the GM you know in our street close pullout basketball and online melodrama pig and Isaiah. So anyway, if you have merit, pig, as if shooting game. It pretty much is a just a game to figure out who the best basketball player is and set anyway, I made some shots he's trying all these three-pointers coming up short is commendable. Short and I got to BPI to PI is like this will be at right here. He takes three pointer and breaks it off the front of the rim.

I made my next shot. He missed it I beat Pastor Chris at basketball. I don't know where he is ducking his tail right now somewhere in this building this show down this contest at Mount Carmel. It really wasn't a contest.

All was they whiz was no Duke Carolina game where Duke is just following the ball in Marvin Bagley and he makes it to footer every time until finally we start try. This is not back-and-forth who's going to win this game.

This is a no contest contest. It is a basketball game is only 100 been nothing but a tennis match to be 606060 this is a story about something that looks like it settings itself up as a competition, but in the end, you realize there was no real contest that was there. It is really a story about identifying who the real God is assert this God is not hesitant to identify himself as the one true God. It reminds me a little bit more and have a maximum grandma reminds me of some you old enough to remember that the hit game show the 70s called to tell the truth. Three. Three people would come in all purporting to be the same person.

Hi my name is Sam Smith hi my name is Sam Smith hi my name is Sam Smith and in a group of panelists would ask them questions and they would try to figure out which one was the real Sam Smith based on their answers and who were the imposters and they would make their gas and at the end of the show. The MC would famously ask with the real Sam Smith please stand up and I was rumbling out stand up this what this reminds me of this is will the real God please stand up.

When you show yourself to be God and this is a story about the power of God on display. To prove that he is God, but I want to show you today beautifully that like all of Scripture. In the end it points us to the gospel for is also a story about the nature and power of the gospel P.

Greg is a pastor in Britain. He started years ago a movement that as you did know we start a movement. His church to start praying around the clock and out of this emerge something called 24 seven on movement of prayer that now I think over a million people around the world event is somewhat connected to this vision of just having people God praying more and what happened was that his church in Britain they start praying around the clock and things start happening guys are doing so wonderful things in their midst. Most notably and dramatically sometime early on in this new prayer movement a little boy. It was healed miraculously of leukemia and was very dramatic thing in life of the church and the pastor was so elated that Pastor Greg came to his church leaders and he said you know what this means there like what is it just this means Christianity is true Pastor you're the minister years was already believe that his is true but you know what he was saying was a you know you have. I believe these things, but now while I just believe these things because I see God is at work that's Alan Wright will have more teaching moment from today's important series like something is holding you back if you can important see that could change everything. Is there someone you love to sing stack to help them out what's missing. Blessing on vision spoken over you can learn how to embrace who practice a blessing to Pastor Alan writes new blood, which quickly became an enzyme number one bestseller after 370s until now the hardcover book has only been available through retail sales this month right ministries once send you the I thank you for your Denilson is not only received a best-selling but also receive a free session video place in which Pastor Alan teaches how to blast and covers kind video course includes a detailed study guide perfect for personal growth or small group discussion. Make your gift today discovered the power to blast Collison 877-544-4860 877-544-4861 come to our website. Pastor Alan.like today's teaching now continues here once again is Albert Einstein who would tell of an agnostic uncle that he had nonetheless went to synagogue and some might come to this. The only guy in Isaiah's family went to synagogue and they came to this uncle exhibit you're an agnostic, you'll believe in God. When you go to synagogue, they said, but you never know it doesn't like a lot of Christians have known arrears account like that if I got was like you know I really believe all this stuff, but you never know I better go to church. But what happens in your life when you see God's grace up close. When you experience the miraculous changes everything is everything some people and our Western intellectual culture. No so rational.

Everything is logical everything scientific we can get this sort of arrogance about us like we just know better than everybody. Afterward we have so much more education and so we we know the miracles. I don't really know exist.

That's for the less intelligent sophisticate, less sophisticated people, philosopher and wit brilliant man GK Chesterton wrote in his classic orthodoxy, addressing the same. I believe that miracles have happened in human history is not a mystical belief at all. I believe in them.

Upon human evidences as I do in the discovery of America.

On this point is a simple logical fact that only required to be stated and cleared up somehow or other, he writes an extraordinary idea has arisen that the disbelievers and miracles consider them coldly and fairly by believers and miracles accept them only in connection with some dogma, usually same is and somehow got this idea that the people that don't believe in miracles, are the ones that are quite scientific about everything every logical but other people are not many continue says the fact is quite the other way. The believers in miracles accept them rightly or wrongly, because they have evidence for them.

The disbelievers and miracles deny them rightly or wrongly, because they have a doctrine against them is the open obvious democratic thing is to believe an old Apple woman when she bears testimony to a miracle.

Just as you believe no Apple woman when she bears testimony to a murder on the least educated lease sophisticated person and it's amazing how our world might believe what this person had to say about something like oh I witnessed crime. What but the nonbeliever she said she saw a miracle. He sums all this up in a funny way by saying, pointing out the circular reasoning, we can get into, and he says Iceland is impossible because only stupid sailors have seen it and the sailors are only stupid because they say they seen Iceland. We must forever dismiss the idea that the intelligent people know these are the ones that are agnostic and atheist don't believe in miracles and intelligent people rationalize these the ones that that don't believe it but the unintelligent, they're the ones that are gullible may believe all that's just bad reasoning doesn't doesn't have to but is funny when intellectual ill really educated person who doesn't believe then encounters God in a miraculous way change everything I have was always drawn to the testimony of Manning Jack dear for the way that I got to know him and it came no visitor church and taught here in our times and that's a friend in a mental but in his well-known book supplied by the parents. He tells his testimony of how he came to believe in miracles. He was a PhD professor at a seminary in Texas and he didn't believe in miracles believe the gifts of the spirit.

It seized a taught that the students he also is pastoring a Bible church and he wanted to invite Christian hero of his Dr. John Y brilliant psychiatrist and author to come and speak in his lectures at Jaggers church and he was so excited, John Y did agree to come and so Jack was talking to John he said what are you going to teach about 24 lectures and John said well Dr. Weiss and I am only writing a book on the subject, so I'd like to teach about the kingdom of God and Jackson will ask right would love to learn about the kingdom of God and said to what what Dr. White is beer your content of your lectures and in Dr. Weiss will first lecture I like to give is on Christ's authority over temptation to ask. That's important. That's good and sounds great, and secondly he said the second lecture I like to be met. Christ's authority over sin said that's excellent. As you know we we need to get more victory over sin he said was that there were about Dr. Weiss and third want to be about Christ's authority over demons. Jackson well okay okay I am in.

We do believe you know, heaven and hell and spirituality so okay that's good what's aforethought about and then got a wife said aforethought about Christ's healing power over disease.

His authority over disease and Jackson did you say disease is idea is it is projected that you don't yet about healing or you is now very much talk about healing digested healing healing will we know that that died out in the first century and we got the Bible now but we don't have all that no kind of miracles and why they start arguing with Dr. White about this is it. For example, he said in the Bible. Jack dear citizen, all the miracles of healing that happen instantaneously to everybody who ever see prayer got instantly healed and all the same sin. That's not what we see today and so how do and in calmly. John White said what do you think that every single person was prayed for, is recorded in the Bible and Jackson no realize he was making an argument from silence a classic mistake in interpreting Scripture. So they start having this little debate and everything that Jack had to say. He started realizing he didn't have much basis for and so finally he did you hear this intellectual. Finally, this is what it boils down to just looked about right. Is that well never seen anyone healed and a better life.

And yet, yes I have is injectable.

Okay, what's your most recent spectacular healing that you've seen doctor. I said well not long ago said my wife and I were in Malaysia and doing teaching and there was a boy there any had eczema from really top his head down so the speed it was so bad that he had slept in 36 hours and skin was itching and using and and and his parents had slept 36 hours and my wife and I weep when laid hands on my plate form and he instantly fell sleep and then 20 minutes later the source stopped using in the next morning his skin was just as good as new is unethical that spectacular or not, but is that I know God will Jack just said you know whether the theology right or not you know is come to our church and so he came and they began to experience God doing miracles and saw things happen that it was amazing how with all of his intellect that he had convinced himself of one thing at a dogma against miracle Jack did, but then we experienced the grace of God in a very real way it changed everything. It'll change so much in your life when you get a revelation that this God that we talked about and preach about and share with one another is not an idea when a person who is active in history now lives. I watched again and wept again this week to see the YouTube of Delia Knox walking Delia Knox walking I'm aware of this because it was a friend of mine and pastor Mark Wyatt who took the video of the miracle. If you ever want to see a video of a miracle than look at what Mark posted on YouTube half-million people sing about 10 million should see it because Delia Knox in Christmas day of 1987 was hit by a drunk driver and her car flipped several times and caused spinal damage and she became a paraplegic and she was in a wheelchair for 23 years until August 2010 at a revival meeting in Alabama that my pastor friend Mark was helping to plan and you have been praying for. Obviously she was. She was a Christian fascia Christian ministry from her wheelchair. She sang beautifully. She taught she was married to minister and they had ministry together. She been prayed for so much that they almost grew weary of a by praying for you can imagine is my been a wheelchair 23 years and on this night. As you can see on the video they start praying for her and just all of a sudden she started weeping because she had for the first time in 23 years and feeling in her legs feeling in my legs. Imagine that, and the whole the whole thing went on about two hours marks posted it like a 50 minute video but after they continue to pray for her and she is as weeping and praising Laura wondering what's happening. Is this dramatic moment was she thrust herself up on the chair and put weight onto her legs are and she went back down the chair and the whole place is just exploding in praise and worship and prayer and faith in and then before you know it she's back up on her feet, and with people holding her arms up is moving in is so cute because she's like a little child learning to walk and she does it for sourcing or just move her legs, as will Steph like and then over time she starts learning again how to bend your knees and she starts been like a soldier more generous to trend. It is bitterly want to. The look on her face within two hours she was able to walk unassisted. You might also want to look at the video that the local news team and our mother's hometown ran because she went home. A week later to see her mother because her mother was a herd of America but had seen her yet, and in her hometown of New Jersey or New York just to show off a little bit.

Delia put on high heels and walked up the steep steps, her mother's house and how dramatic you only will you do with that question is. Please bookmark right here in this teaching called man on fire it's in the greater series. Right now the radio called miracle man. Alan is back in a moment with additional insight on this for your life. In her final word today like something is holding you back if you can important see I could change everything.

Is there someone you love to sing stack.

What's missing blessing on base and spoken over you can learn how to embrace the practice of blessing to Pastor Alan writes new blood became an Amazon number one bestseller after 370s until now the hardcover book has only been available through retail sales this month right ministries once to send you the I thank you for your demos this night will not only receive the best-selling that also receive a free session video place which Pastor Alan teaches how to blast and covers kind video course includes a detailed study guide perfect for personal growth or small group discussion. Not too long ago to a young woman. She was a teenager who had declared herself to the agnostic, I think was worse using she was willing to to grown up in a family fight issues on the talks on them so interesting.

By the end of the talk, you know, and I thought it I could have just run circles around her theologically around the corner. But what good is all they gonna do when I finally just address it will what you think it would need to happen for you to really have your faith come to life.

You know, in Christ, she discussed options as well leave us all miracle and so why don't we instead of talking theology.

Let's talk about miracles. Would you be etched in hearing some of the ones I sing on my own eyes. The reason all throughout the Elijah series will what else miracle stories certainly telling one today about the Delia Knox but many many more.

And I think that in the end what this says is annoyed. It is a powerful thing. When a believer or unbeliever gets up close next to the miraculous working of God. And so what fitting and beautiful thing it is to look at these miracles and Elijah and Elisha's life and think about God's miracles in her own was open her eyes and see miracles are around us because it will build your faith, today's good news message is a listener supported production Allen right ministries
