Pastor author and Bible teacher Alan writing things that happened when you begin to ask Jesus to see others with his eyes as seen through Jesus. Maybe someone in your life is very difficult right now for you to even like Jesus's love for that person is in Helen right another message of good news that will help you see your life in a whole new light. I'm Daniel Brittan excited for you to hear the teaching today. In the series you'll see as presented in an older church in North Carolina. If you're not able to stay with us throughout the entire program I want to make sure you know how to get our special resource right now.

More on that later in the program right now. Let's get started with today's teaching here is Alan writing. My wife loves history and we are talking this week about Lewis and Clark's expedition 1800s when they went to find the Northwest passage Chronicles in their journals of all their many experiences to look for the mouth of the Missouri and to eventually try to find their way over the Rocky Mountains and into the Northwest and this year and 1/2 to your journey of theirs is actually remarkable and one of the ways that they were able to succeed was most unlikely incident Charbonneau, who they had hired to travel with them a wife from amongst the Shoshone's, whose name was we pronounce it. Sacajawea, most scholars say that it should be pronounce probably suck away, suck away was Shoshone, who had been taken away from her people an early age and so she traveled along with them.

What they found out that is a second way I end up proving more valuable than Charbonneau.

Her husband to Lewis and Clark expedition.

For one thing.

Second way I had a little baby and they would be making their way maybe pulling all their all of their boats and possessions through the river and then she would take the lead, partly because it was like having a human white flag on friends and we are not here to harm anyone. What army would bring a mother with a baby leading the way and it turned out she was a very intelligent woman who had excellent interpretation skills and became they discover the mouth of Missouri and they would have to make passage and they were very surprising. They found was a huge mountain range there in winter was approaching and is there is no way they're going to make it through that winter, they would all die and the only way to make it across the mountains was they need horses and lots of them. The only way that we can get horses would be to negotiate with Shoshone tribe so it was that Lewis and some men went to go and meet the tribal leader of this fierce tribe of Native Americans and the chief was a man in command weight and came out to meet them very very suspicious of these white men and this big big party that and they began to try to negotiate with them. They did not have a second way with them at the time, but they can estimate leaves to come and meet Clark and the rest of the leadership to at least enter into a discussion with them. They historians say that as command weight. The tribal leader and other tribal leaders made their way to go and meet with Lewis and Clark's entourage that the Native American women in the tribe began wailing for fear they never see them again. Such was the hostility of the environment and that early day they came to have their association in which the Lewis and Clark wanted to get horses is only way they would survive or make their way across and they call a second ago and came and sat down to interpret for the Shoshone tribal leader command weight.

She sat down in command weight spoke and as socket boy looked up and she saw chief. She began to weep. It was her brother and what historians call one of the greatest coincidences in the history of America or some would say just a God moment she had not seen him in many many years. And here they were sitting together at the negotiating table and she was the friend and traveling companion of Lewis and Clark.

She got up and ran and fell upon his neck and wept, and he wept and they danced and they sang and they shouted and they sat down to try to talk and they wept again and adapt up again and finally they had their negotiations and Lewis and Clark got all the horses that they needed and it was how they successfully traverse the amount as command weight didn't know or have any affection for Lewis and Clark, but they solve them through socket away. She in that sense is the mediator. She is the one in which they said well because she loves them.

Then we will also I think one of things that happens when you begin to ask Jesus to see others with his eyes as if you see through Jesus. Maybe someone in your life is very difficult right now for you to even like, but Jesus's love for that person is infinite and so I recommend us and Lord Jesus, let me see them as you see them is to say, let me have the point of connection through you for them. In fact, if you have a hard time loving yourself because you disdained everything that's wrong in your life. How about instead of just trying to convince yourself that you're okay just say Jesus, let me see myself as you see me and let your own affection for your own life and purpose and destiny be rooted in God's affection for you, but I can link up to that you can at any point in time say be my socket away or maybe the one through whom I get connected with someone else and love is also to say that when you say me see that person in the way that you see them. Jesus is saying let me not see them according to all that my natural mind says limits that person and that's what happens is that in our natural minds. We do not see the things that the spirit sees and so what we see our problems.

We have judgments we have. We have limitations that we are a set up before we've even got into interacting with someone and what we need is not the one hand, to be judgmental. On the other hand, just to be pie-in-the-sky and just think that everybody is just wonderful. What we need in the very eyes of Jesus, because what I find is that when I tried to predict by my own natural intuitions and inclinations about who is this going to grow.

I don't even know I get almost every time.

But Jesus never does. He's always right. He's accurate accurate spiritual discernment of everybody. So ask for his eyes to people that you have in your life right now that you're not seeing accurately might be that God will bring something your path this week to stop in this age is right will have more teaching from today's important series want to give someone a present this Christmas that they'll never forget. When you make your gift. Alan Wake ministries this month will send you this booklet is our thinking so you can discover the power to bless call us at 877-544-4860 or visit pastor and.org these teaching now can you once again is Alan Wright I got when I dropped plan out my life for me to teach me as they were traveling this week, there's a nice place to have an outdoor pool and a hot and when I got 1039 for 10 minutes warm-up is so wonderful to relax and go to bed and I go get them hot tub it was it was just a short walk but it was chilly and I got in the car to just drive the very short distance there so that I can get out of the hot jump in the car and never get called back and how that was my plan was so I got into the car didn't take the phone with me and normally our car plays from our phones via Bluetooth and it is not playing music that is from Apple play on our phones than it is the radio. I didn't even really know we had a CD player in the car, but as the strangest things and when I got the car started playing music from a CD that I didn't know we had and the song that was playing was the favorite worship song. One of my dear friends Pentecostal evangelist name Richard. It was his favorite worship song he and his associates had at the revival meetings 25 years ago come to the river.

Under these waters. There's a vast supply come to the river that never runs dry. I had about 30 seconds in the car and that was the music that played and what was so remarkable about what had no idea why that was even there. Why was playing but it made me think of Richard a love so much and I remember they made me remember ironically of a situation that took place 25 years ago I went to visit him in Tampa and I was only there for one night and he was living in a condominium complex and had a pool and a hot and we had gone that night. Do not and we are sending a hard time when we were talking about sports and Jesus and that's what we do. We talk about all that. It was dark, Jesus, and we really got talking about Jesus. There was getting late. There was one guy that was there nearby. Don't think it is they might've been in jeans I can remember, they start edging towards us is 25 years ago is heading towards us. Oh man, I got one night here. Talk to my buddy.

I don't want to talk to some stranger next pool is important for them to finally he spoke and he had a little bit of a slur in his speech. Something about this got a little bit longer little bit high and he said what y'all talking about my place was nothing when I talk about anything away, but my friend Richard a better person than I am.

I understand he's in evangelism, no matter what is doing in season and out of season in a restaurant and in a hot dog is and those that are you are you really and what what what I'll do.

And I was just like I just don't we play golf in on the managers as well as my friend, here's a pastor and evangelist is really is and will will will more and next thing you know, despite all I was trying to do to stop it.

My friend Richard led this man to Lord right there about. And by the time we got mail is right except Christ will by that time I was even happy about it is man looked at us after you prayed to receive prizes that will now do I need to be baptized or something and originality to show that we started giggling and we thought of that instance, in the New Testament. Well, we have water was to prevent it in ways that will come on and your brother got in there is a gene that we did not demand a lot ties them and never saw again all that about 45 seconds of me driving from our room down to the I heard that song play from 25 years ago.

I thought of Richard… And nobody to be a God when open up a full day and there were three women over there hot tubs and on edge.

I got ready to turn around because I was too scared of him and I said no, no, I'm just got boulders that I'm going on over there. I just got it warmed up, get out of there and I said I know the closer I got to it. I thought I don't know that I'm allowed to do this presentation pastor and three women. I don't think you do this said nobody will know someone on over and and I noticed that and then I just got out of the corner of the big so I went down there. Of course they they stopped often and I went down the corner and I just close my eyes got on the water and I just like they're not here, and didn't want talk to them and then one woman who been drinking smoke and she said where you from and I gave her the universal code for I don't want talk to you by saying very quickly but NC said the question that I dreaded, most will what do you do there in North Carolina. While working on a book about about this and I'm a writer to write about. So I just messed up and I said well I'm a pastor.

She said no way.

I said yes I see. So what kind pastor as well. I meant. She said she said is no answer why she said there's only one other man came to this hot, they must been just sit there all night long. She said another person came was a Lutheran pastor I can't believe this.

She said are you a Lutheran pastor as I don't know Presbyterian. I close my eyes went back to what they differ from Lutherans and she said, and then my friend here today how's at all different from the Catholic all boils US a big question here is warm, ginger is just one thing is different about an acid well. So how long does the priest's homily about 12 minutes.

I said there you go every 40 minute drive and and trying to ignore all this and just let hope it goes away and stops and then the woman who had put out her cigarette. When I got there to set up with this and she said were really what what is the difference in and you know in an X She said I still like the mask was a difference and I finally set up a little bit will limit one thing that is different than said we believe every Christian is a priest and that you don't have to go to a priest may be a good thing to go to a priest, but you have to go through a priest to go to God because God's right here, right now in the woman who had put out the cigarette was drinking she's got client. She said I can't believe that she said I've been on a 10 day fast. Later she said she had been drinking or smoking for 10 days. She fasting from food as it really is and what it why fasting she said because I need to get my mind clear and I need a new direction from outline so that's a good reason is that some people fast because they think it's a religious thing to do that will impress God and that somehow, like the more if they deny themselves things I said but whatever you've done. I said you done it for the right reason you were wanting a new direction for your life you want and a clear mind.

She said yes and I got two passes into the hot, and she said we think this means I said I think God sent me here to tell you the answer to your fast is a God loves you infinitely perfectly and forever and that I don't know your history or I don't know the things are going on in your future. But he does have a wonderful plan for your life. She got from the edge came and sat back down. The hot tub reference of what you doing said I thought we were leaving, she said just a little bit more than this reciprocating believe this is this wonderful she turned her friend.

I began to talk to them about Jesus and by the end of it would say that they're going to the Holy Spirit, they were enthralled, especially the one that I thought would be the least likely one. They have any interest in Jesus and I did not baptize the two of them I thought that would be by the end of she had signed up for my daily devotional uncle that go to. I'm just saying I God sets up these things teach me. You know, if you just start out with Jesus. How do you see this because what you see with your natural eyes is so limited. God sees I just mention this thoroughly, briefly, what the story is all about is this look through Jesus that someone else is to look through the cross I think is why Jesus sees quote center so differently goes not just he loves them so because he came to die in their place.

He came to die in my place and yours.

So every single one of us who ever comes to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We are the 500 denarii debtors who have been forgiven so much because you can see someone except through grace.

Simon the Pharisee thought he had his act together religiously and therefore he was more worthy of the love of God, and he was missing at all because he didn't understand grace and understand that is infinite need for a Savior.

This woman who would send so much she having tasted of the mercies of Christ. She saw who he really was. What this means is Jesus sees us through the lens of his own precious sacrifice for our amazing you can look at there is not according to what they've done or who they are. This moment you can look at them through this land. What Jesus done for them when you realize that Jesus has shed his blood on their behalf. When you accept Christ. Your forgiveness is so full and so complete that your sins are As far as the east is from the west. That means it will start looking in every single center every single person you'll start seeing that will spiritualize for their potential, rather than because everybody can grow and everybody can change.

It is not an invitation to blind acceptance of others behaviors are a naïve endorsement or partnering with those that are walking in the darkness. That's not what were talking about when talking about a new way of living in which you see with Jesus's own eyes there somewhere today, a Walt Disney was getting fired because he is considered to have no imagination there some staff.

It's not being recruited because they don't know is going to grow another 3 inches is some Thomas Edison who is conducting experiments that are considered to be inappropriate and people are missing. But Jesus is not. He knows everything is possible.

So just ask Jesus, you see this person, Helen Wright, today's good news message in our series, you will see will the teaching is you'll see the forgiveness of Christ in a greater way pastor Alan is back with us in the studio shearing or parting good start for the day.

Would you say it's a prayer that is in it and it I think Dean is a liberating type of spiritual discipline. Instead of saying all right to treat people better and a lot to think differently about people all not to lose my patient so much when you think about other people and we are frustrated as it is and okay, here's what ought to do. Let me try harder to save Jesus when you lend me your eyes. You see this person.

There are people I think surrounding us that Jesus sees all kinds of potential. He died for them and only loves them but can see the potential in others so ask and I think it'll it'll help tremendously in your relationships with other lodges pray for our listeners to have Jesus's eyes for every relationship and especially the ones where you feel frustrated Jesus, and you see this person's eyes.
