Welcome to Michigan where Robert Murray thank you for joining the Robert is about halfway through his relationship theories about how the 10 Commandments gives us a way to have a relationship with God and it's been an amazing series so far. I'm your host Jenae and I'm here with my cohost Patrick hey everybody well in today's message past. Robert is exploring the sixth commandment which is due shall not mark this is a commandment that everybody should now yeah I thought I would also well that doesn't mean there isn't something incredibly powerful to learn.

Pastor Robert titled this message the principle of live and he's going to talk about anger expectation and forgiveness and I can't wait to get started me to so let's get to wear in a series called relationship through God's talk to you so would form out that God gave us the 10 Commandments, but I believe there's a principle behind every commandment and it's a principal relationship and so this week on talking about the principle of love and we are now only the sixth commandment in the six commandment an extra chapter 20 verse 13 you shall not murder, and the reason I'm calling it the principle of love is because love is the opposite of murder because the Bible leaks murder to hate, and will show you that right so I get the loops ever get a moment. Jerry couple scriptures. First John 350. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer and then show you how to lease the opposite of these these principles here of of murder offset the law.

It list the last five Commandments which will now starting the 65th in Romans 13 verse nine for the commandment you shall not commit adultery. You shall not murder, you shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness, you shall not covet closer 6:30 PM there and if there's any other commandment they're all summed up in this essay mainly, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. Now I normally have three points I have a rhythm, that I go through but I have five points today but I'm going to have to believe, quickly 24 through the first three to set up a foundation for the last to arrive so you shall not murder.

I'm really not worried about someone in our congregation murdering someone I know I heard this one lady. She said that she remarried for 60 years. Her husband passed away and so master did you ever think about divorce, she said no you never thought about divorce murder, yes, but not divorce but she was just joking so so I'm not I'm not worried about you committing murder. I'm worried going concern about the things that lead to murder such as hate and unforgiveness. And some things like that's what Satan is trying to do. There's a path something to show you the path right so here is point number one hey precedes murder.

Hey precedes those before murder judicial story of Joseph. Genesis 37 versus 45 but what is brother Saul that their father loved him more than all his brothers.

They hated him so the brothers of Joseph hated him and cannot speak peaceably to Joseph had a dream and he told his brothers and they hated him even more so they hated the new look down at verse 18 and when they saw on the far off even before he came near them. They conspired against him to kill him. So, why they conspired to murder him because they hated him when he showed. In the law. Deuteronomy 19 versus 1112 but if anyone hates his neighbor lies in wait for him rises against him and strikes him mortally so that he dies and then he flees to one of the cities than the elders of his city shall send the bring him from there and deliver him over to the and of the avenger of blood, that he might die. Capital punishment for murder. That is a person, so it shows he hated him and we murdered and his wife saying we know we murder them because he hated watch out shows. Again, hate, murder, Joshua 20 verse five that if the avenger of blood pursue CM, they shall not deliver the slayer interest a.m. because he struck his neighbor unintentionally, but did not hate him beforehand. See the lighter you if you murdered someone was if you hated him if it was an accident and document he died unintentionally so hate precedes murder. So what precedes height, number two anger precedes height before you hate someone you get angry at him. The first murder. In the Bible was because of anger came and able Genesis chapter 4 verse three and in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground the Lord noticed, by the way, was not a first-rate offering. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, but he did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry.

Angry, and his countenance fell in the universe. They take talk with Abel his brother came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. He was angry so we killed three now when explain something.

Anger is an emotion and you can actually be angry and not seem as matter fact there's a verse that says be angry and do not sin. So it's not that anger is a C on it's what you do with younger never known someone that has a tendency to discount a blow up people don't punch anyone the ribs right now or not will assist at this point. Have you ever blown up hello you want to save you and run nobody but which is member. This is true art, so we've all blown up when you say why you blow up or why a person is a tendency to blow up a lot because the person has anger that's unresolved.

It's resolved anger that she is sitting in you that causes you to explode if we get that anger out that even when you go through a tough time.

You will blow up is not any anger and are free to blow up so we have to resolve. If you're just tuning in your listening to a shipping awareness pastor Robert Morris. Pastor Rob is talking about. Commandment I'm not making them how it's really a principal about math getting your today. I think a lot of us have experienced times when were angry or someone is angry in that's why I just really love how Pastor Robert reminded us that anger itself is not sin. It's what we actually do with right and told me that there's not much we can do to stop feeling and playing around in her head that we can start from nothing. Well, I know Pastor has more insight and revelation prints out.

Here's number three what precedes anger, interference proceedings under interference proceedings anger carrying was offended God, and they that's why got angry. It offended that God accepted Abel's offering markings only show you a couple scriptures Matthew 24 TM and then many will be offended and betray one another and will hate one another. There offended. So now they hate people.

We read last week were Jesus, talk about a prophet is not without honor except in his own family's own country and they were offended when he read a little bit about again and and pick up on one of the words that we talk about more chapter 6 versus 283 when the Sabbath had gone. He began to teach in the synagogue, and many hearing him were astonished. I actually said last weekend. That's not a good word astonished that's not what you think. As a maze. It's not amazing it's a bad word actually and I had no clue as well. Use of this week but I will explain to you what astonished means they were astonished saying where did this man get these things and what wisdom is this which is given again the such mighty works are performed by stand.

Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon are not his sisters here with us, so they were offended at him. They were offended that this word astonished someone give you the actual definition from the stroke reported. Here's what it means means to strike notice to hit someone to strike someone to expel by a blow to drive out or away. Where is he began to teach and had wisdom they got angry when a line because is just a carpenter. The group in their town and it offended them that this guy had so many popular so much so many people following him and that he had such wisdom and he's just a carpenter and they got offended, so much so as to miss that they were.

He says they were astonished miss what it means that they wanted to hit him. I wanted to strike.

I wanted to drive him out with blows that this happened another time say word astonished I don't have time to read the whole chapter. But in Luke chapter 14 memory goes to his mind, his hometown hometown and he goes in the synagogue and he takes the Scriptures and he read from Isaiah and this is what he reads. He reads a passage about the Messiah, and he reads the spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he's anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor to open the blind dogs to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Everyone knew that was about the Messiah here was the problem it says that he close the book and he sat down and he said, and then see sickos about and he said today this Scripture is fulfilled in your fireplace item. I'm him on the Messiah. And you know they said the exact same thing they were astonished and they said, isn't this the carpenter, isn't this the guy that that built a patio for me to see if anything sees the Messiah anywhere is a tool belt but and and now watch Luke chapter 4 verses 28, 29th, so all those in the synagogue when they heard these things were filled with wrath member anger and they rose up and thrust him out of the city and they leading to the brow that he, along with their city was built, that they might throw him down over the cliff anger why they were offended. Why were they offended because they didn't meet their expectations.

He was saying something that they didn't understand and that brings me to the fourth point this is one rumor really can't drill down so we got hate precedes murder so hopefully no one's ever get to the point of murder, but you might hate someone, but what causes hate, anger does get a someone and you don't resolve it correctly. So now you hate them. But what causes hate and offense.

But what causes an offense for number four unfulfilled expectations proceed offenses unfulfilled expectations proceed offenses here is that this lasted for Luke seven because of this to me is one of the strangest passages in the Bible and one the most enlightening Luke seven verse 18. Then the disciples of John reported BMX John the Baptist reported to him concerning all these things and John calling two of his disciples to EMC in the empty Jesus say argue the coming one or do we look for another, I want you to think about this for just John the Baptist.

Jesus's cousin John the Baptist was field with the spirit in his mother's womb Elizabeth womb. When Mary, Jesus's mother walked in the room when Jesus was in the one John the Baptist is the one that when Jesus came to be baptized by him said I should baptize you. You should baptize me right why why why what was he say your lawn near the lawn. There's a lawn Lamb of God, there's the one is the bad guys we know you're the one that came to John later after Jesus began his ministry. And I said you member at value baptized. He started the church down the road and he's baptize and more people that you are, you know what John's answer was I told you I'm not the one what he said I told you I'm not the one I told you he's the one who put another way, John's in prison for saying he's the one. And then he comes to his city to have a revival and he doesn't even have time to visit his cousin in jail. John said in a Denny could got a mouth is the Messiah. He's the one everybody knows it's a one and John Centenary say now how long Jesus been here seven days now seven days. Joe mentioned Thomas in jail yet. We told you go ask Jesus that John cousin John wants to know if he's the long Jesus said you go tell cousin John that the blind see, the lame wall, the deaf hear that data raise the poor have the gospel preached to them, and blessed is he who done get his feelings hurt doesn't get offended because of me pretty stroke excellent clinical passage in I'm sure one day I get to heaven. John the Baptist said what you tell everybody that's why I was upset about unfulfilled expectations, goals, offenses. He had an expectation Jesus would come get him out of jail ultimately see him so when that expectation wasn't fulfilled. This would listen, listen, I'm I'm going to help you where expectation that our friends will do something he doesn't do it, were offended when expectation that our employers will do some he doesn't do it now were offended.

Women expectation that you know us some spiritual leaders will do some he doesn't do it now were offended and we can get offended sometimes over silly things you know coming in alike coming in all of a sudden what's upsetting. So what's wrong what he what's wrong, but Jimmy did not say one thing about the cake that I took to the body. Or maybe she just had her hands full and she just forgot. She knows better. She knows better all of a sudden were offended no problem. It's amazing what get suspended.

Did you know that someone in the Bible is actually called a person is actually called a stumbling stone and a rock of offense, you will notice Jesus. Romans 933, as is written as it is written, behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and a rock of offense, and in the word and is a conjunction break could be translated but when whoever believes in him in the stumbling stone or the rock of offense will not be put to shame. I'm familiar with Jesus is either going to be in your life a stone, you stumble over or rock you build your house on West Weibel. Jesus now. We not to say I just like say is a good state G and I get excited because you ladies brag oneself know I was studying in the wargame at statement and I think Lord is good and I'm assuming you look smart so Jesus Jesus will either be for you a stumbling stone or rock that you build your house is one of the people either stumble over or they build here listening to worship wearing the caster rabbit might think you know how different would relationships with family and friends in between spouses be if we all chose to step over those offenses and move on instead of letting those rocks build up and cause walls of anger between people to solve so many problems, which is probably why the enemy deals so heavily in offense is still a little bit more this message remaining select continue with pastor's number five forgiveness proceeds love, forgiveness, proceeds love Matthew 543 344 Jesus said, you've heard that it was said, you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your bless those who persecute, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you, so how in the world can you love someone that hate you or that is your enemy.

Simple forgiveness yet forgiven outside what the Greek word for forgive me for the moment.

Let me show you how hate leads to murder and how forgiveness leads to love one file that I met did wrap up the whole message with one story from the Bible how hate leads to murder. But forgiveness leads to low Jacob and Esau, Jacob steals the birthright in the blessing Genesis 2741 so Esau hated Jacob because of the blessed blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau said it is hard the days of mourning for my father RK on the on the Lord when there over I will feel my brother Dick he hated him so. Usually killing hate leads to murder. Watch how forgiveness leads low. Years later, my effect is 20 years later, 20 years go by 20 years, Genesis 33, verse one.

Now Jacob lifted his eyes. He's going back to the land where his father was and there Esau was coming in with him were 400 million last season backward labors fathers what his father or depressed market. Esau was coming with him were 400 million.

What would you think if we got it hated you was coming to greet you with 400 million. But watch what happens verse four, but Esau Aranda medium and embrace them and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept.

How does Esau go from hating him and wanting to murder him to loving him, embracing him and kissing him because he forgot is the only one in almost at a .6 but I just never done a message with six points my life miscellaneous I have so so what proceeds forgiveness and that's grace use will make a note.

How do you know it's how you forgive well. Forgiveness is giving grace. So how do you give grace you have received grace we can give it if you haven't received. If you have a problem giving forgiveness. You have a problem receiving forgiveness when we say that again if you have a problem giving forgiveness. You have a problem receiving forgiveness here is Matthew TNA freely you have received, freely give. If you don't receive freely and you don't give freely. In other words, if you feel like you have to earn forgiveness from God. You will make other people earn forgiveness from. But once you catch grace and you understand I'm forgiven freely and I did not deserve to be forgiven and you'll forgive others who don't deserve to be forgiven that what sort forgive me and the one word image release.

That's what it means when God forgave you. He released you from the punishment of the sin he released you and release you from judgment in relation so when you truly forgive someone a major release. I was upset with someone one time and I kept replaying you in my mind. I've never done that got a lot of me and and is about 2 o'clock in the morning, but you're going morning is replaying over and over month and all the sudden on your heart how you hear the Lord not audibly felt like the Lord did that select words that like names was almost like I'm trying to sleep Palatino telling us keeping them up noisily to in the morning forgiven, get some sleep and I said the Lord. But Lord, he was wrong with the Lord set on everything except of course he was you'll forgive people who were right. I begged you these cookies. I forgive you but you know forgive people who do good things to you know forgive people are nice to you. You forgive people hear me and who offend forgiven. I'm really not concerned and you commit murder hope really think you're unconcerned could fall in the trap to get caught in a snare hate people to be angry with you be offended enough there a lot in this message that really hit home. I especially liked how Pastor Robert gave the definition of the word forgiveness and how it means release that word alone is such a great illustration of how we forget, absolutely no.
