Your chosen Truth Network podcast is starting a just a few seconds. Enjoy it, share it, but most of all, thank you for listening to the truth. Podcast network. This is good Truth Network only my hand assigned autographed copy of the The Bridge and I'm looking across the table of the author. We are in a room full of a bunch of guys talking about the glow of God and wins in the word overhear Dario Goldring was right and throws it wouldn't think you are retired, brother Bill, your praying with people encouraging people you want to share Jesus with anything that moves in any write his book the The Bridge. This book really is almost like an out of Iraq by gravel work of your life on right in the it's just the journey.

An amazing journey.

But God could do extraordinary people, skeletons of closet, but I told this writer. I will muster until warts and all, God's word is dead right wash the shortcomings of his people, but it shows his glory shines through ordinary people when we come to know I'm loving and serving only the subtitle here closing the gaps to divide world as if I was a picture this for one to see. But this is a fascinating picture of the regular man is literally a human bridge between two different sides of a cliff, knowing in different people groups everything racial and all that and you see underneath your racial family religious global social personal NexGen site about racial assistant right into assisting Otago the elephant room.

I mean, nowadays you know more and more churches are talking about. Hey we need to like decent researchers like black and white you come together in and in all other ethnic groups in the state population is really surging American. We pull together one the body of Christ. Now I know there's the races and all that but in the 1960s, when you are a born again man of God loving Jesus taken Bible classes and you are suddenly find yourself marching with MLK and you find yourself showing up after you know trying to desegregate things in in in state of the way you listen we need to love our neighbor as ourselves. You got met you got a not so nice message from some guys outside your apartment in a dark alley that could have killed us.

I could have picked up about 10 or 11 at night coming back to campus. Three clicks flex plan one sabotage my car and then they beat me up hug me limply black and blue on the pavement. But God was at work, even in that to show that the his concern is that as it says in Revelation 7 and his kingdom is included men and women from all nations, tribes, sometimes something is set you off on that is through your fingers. A lot of people when they go to like my brother lowered to Cuba.

He came back and said wow they worship and they worship strong and is the most interracial integrated church I've ever seen, but is around Jesus racial reconciliation just for the sake of race organization gets anywhere is all a sudden while a black and white. We love each other but you know what euro your Yankees fan a Red Sox and no I hate you because that is you have Jesus as the nucleus right so you you went to Jamaica you found yourself surrounded as a young white rural farming dude who loves Jesus, find yourselves around with a bunch of folks don't look like you and suddenly you had an epiphany and change your life. I discovered drastically that God is a global God needs calling us to be global Christians and I met people in Jamaica that I had no idea that was.

He was the God of the whole world that strikes this 20-year-old kid tremendously showed me that is global God and he's calling us to be global Christians really challenge people in his book to do something as simple as taking a missions trip and I love how you know for decades.

You went on a missions trip every year you took your family. You want to rush you consider seeing the soul book is eclipsed by fear the beginning your beaten up by the clan fervor for reading and loving folks that are of another read another people group and yet it thoroughly in your ear all your meet up maybe nearly arrested by the by the KGB in Moscow. I indeed, they were happy that we were there we had to be with the communist and yet God opened that door in the 90s share the good news of Christ that was spiritual hunger. I had never seen spiritual hunger face-to-face about eyeball people say tell me more shared with some nurses said what these young nurses translated since share the gospel. They would never heard it.

And as we begin to show the gospel.

The nurses begin to wait this is what's going out. She's very pending.

Don't you know we we just were amazed.

This is very simple question maybe should have asked Gabe, let's jump in and out the noise by way bunch of brothers in Christ, your fellow shipping encourage each other praying together is a lot going on here about nations over their prey was guys we got some the Lord's work in a here and Bill Greene was right in the middle of it pastor Jacob your younger guy, a pastor you love Jesus was it like to see a guy like him. He's he's got more trailer tires and you these are writing books about missions about reaching the world for Christ. How encourage is ever easy guy like him in favor encourage you know I know that there is a problem with racism going on in this room just to hear about somebody all these years, it has gone out onto the battlefield, fighting against Satan alongside of people who don't look like a huge encouragement, especially conference. My lifelike me because before becoming a Christian I was a neo-Nazi skinhead and I hated anybody who was not white and I heard a lot of people I got involved with a lot of the wrong people and I intentionally set myself against people who didn't look like, but upon becoming a Christian that hatred completely melted in an instant and just weeks after becoming a Christian I found myself down the convenience store down in Meisenheimer, North Carolina, and I have covered in tattoos and I have a lot of skinhead tattoos and things that promote not an I was sitting in line I heard from my behind is that what is not turned around and here's this man towering over me. Lovely equipment have told me about 100 pounds black man and here I am thinking I will, died today and instead of that happening.

I got to tell him God in my life and and how he had transformed me into my hate and turned the love and I got to pray with that man right there in the store and the lady on the counter came out and she prayed with a God does amazing things and can set people free from that. So what's going on in the world right now and what walking through and what your encouraging people.

This is real life stuff where real people are leaving the hatred behind and being completely transformed by the power of the gospel. I saw that in London with a Ethiopian to Graham Tigre. Part of. He said you Christians have something you have a glow about that and I was able to help lead them to Christ Jesus. This is what I needed. This rapid looking so missions trips cost to enable us to meet people on the very front lines of never gospel mean just amazing that those cutesy people all around the world recognizing who Christ is coming the having that laughter in your book is a safety latch.

We want to know you little Greenwood Dr. Bill Greenwood college professor at the highest level but you you embody in this book that life is a missions trip so literally. Our next meeting. After this interview is a missions trip. It's because we have Jesus in us, and people out there need the Lord so what a brilliant picture and all of your journeys whether substitute teaching weathers teaching Bible what you find yourself in all kinds of digestive amazed at the life experience. This man, but you're also trying to give back our Dr. Jeremiah say just recently at a big event. We had Raleigh that he said this, he said, look, he said retirements on the Bible says you can't retire from Jesus how you retire from Christ. The reason you you're always going to be when you assign values on the stage and Bill Gaither.

Both men like in their 80s course, they're having fun is over and all that stuff Tyler Mahalik were still here were still alive were still and assure Jesus and that's kind of a theme I see here that you're trying to pass on the next generation talk about that yes we we have been recipients of God's grace and where to pass it on to others they've invested in sin, we need to invest in their pulses.

The things you part of me the same commitment, trust, pass along to fight.

Once should be able to teach others also. And I'm just standing on the shoulders of giants to and I record this be the bridge available on Amazon. So when you get it rated writer will review on it. Help the word to get out of this. It's amazing what God can do 300 people. He delights in using ordinary people may William bless pastor Jacob with a copy will be encouraged and he'll also like to have a lower pastor mentor him a little bit and encourage him and were doable pastors get together the Truth Network energize ministries, in our North Carolina office on October. I think the 20th which is a Thursday lunch and so I want to make sure will be with David Jeremiah that night in Greenville South Carolina but I will make sure both of you come to that, to encourage each other in recent books. The book is be the bridge, closing the gaps in a divided world. Of course, Jesus Christ. The ultimate rich daughter. He came is the bridge. The life is great gospel track for that title and EEG came because we couldn't get to God, so he made away when there was no way. And if you don't know Christ like Paul says in synchrony seventh return to the Lord and the veil will be listed and will open your eyes right what your final challenges we got here I'd say that God has got use use me in ways that only you can do all for the fame of your name. The glory of God. Thank you Bill Greenwood for this one of the bridge and get this book. Bless someone else with it analyst is a great this is like Hebrews 11 guy here is all a faith we can learn from guys like you and he also skin your knee about you talked to said recording and dating and go to school in teaching and learning for me this and that things you wish you had and over again going to rush in seeing the poverty as he increases over there on fire for God was so little we have so much yet were so callous and so you'll love this book and you'll love the meeting encountering Dr. Bill Greenwood in his story in be the bridge for truth talk I'm Stu Epperson be sure to download the podcast this year about our podcast network to talk.
