Your chosen Truth Network podcast is starting in just a few seconds. Enjoy it, share it, but most of all, thank you for listening to the truth. Podcast network. This is the Truth Network, the sinister plot to kill Jesus is well underway, but the religious leaders can't seem to catch them alone away from the large Passover crowds that are clamoring to hear the master their luck is changed as they found an inside source. One of his very own disciples to betray him enter Judas Iscariot and welcome to experience truth of Stu Epperson and with me this week to go to the word of God with you is my friend longtime mentor and man a God talk shows himself the question Carter Robbie Gilmore Robbie were going to the dark side.

Today we are to see the the pawn of Satan at work. Judas Iscariot himself. Not many kids out there named Judas Iscariot that I know about you never met one that neither one.

So here we go were the only one this week and let's read the passage in Luke chapter 22 one through 13 is Christ is making he's bringing his whole earthly ministry in for a landing. The cross is right ahead of them. It's Passover week and Judas has hatched a plan to betray him, and we all know this is all part of God's plan to begin with. But let's get in the pass of the Westies great questions of the feast of unleavened bread veneer which is called Passover and the chief priests and scribes on how they might kill them, for they fear the people then Satan entered Judas surnamed Iscariot was numbered among the 12 so he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him, to them and they were glad and agreed to give him money so he promised and sought opportunity to petroleum to them. In the absence of the multitude. Then came the day of unleavened bread when the Passover must be killed, and he sent Peter and John saying go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat so they said to him where you want us to prepare and he said to them, behold, when you've entered the city a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water.

Follow him in the house.

He enters the you shall say to the master of the house.

The teacher says to you, where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples. Then he will show you a large first upper room there to make ready. So they went and they found it just as he'd said to them, and they prepared the Passover is with his first question throttle. Why did the religious leaders want to kill Jesus and what prevented so were finding ourselves at this massive impasse. This massive crossroads.

This this epic battle with so much bigger than just these people were reading about this is the bigger plan. The battle between good and evil, between the serpent, Satan and Jesus the serpent crusher as foretold in Genesis 315. The very first prophecy that was thousands of years earlier. It's all leading up to this moment. It all comes to a clashing impasse right here in Luke 21 through 13 are two main things you break this passage up.

Robbie, you got verses 1 to 6 is the plan. The plot to kill Jesus and then verse verses seven through 13 is his final meal. The Last Supper and working to get into that some next time with. I will retitle that you are what you eat is really cool as they prepare for the supper than the going there so the if there is an ongoing effort to destroy supper views undercut entrap and then ultimately kill Jesus and the luck in the mind of the Pharisees and scribes, religious leaders, has suddenly turned in their favor. Their luck is changed and gotten a good inside. In this interesting how so often it's from the inside. When a church dies. It's always from the inside. When a church is persecuting outsiders when I was get stronger, but it always happens. The attacks on the early church and in acts airings going great we all want to cut acts chapter 5 out of our Bibles right because this is all is pressure in arrest and attacks on the church, but then from the inside. There's an Ananias is a fire who lied to God and God struck him dead. And you'll see how radical sin is dealt with in the early church may be said of our churches data silicates encourage and deal in a new church discipline in the biblical gracious God, the way like they did ask my baby not to the death of someone but here you have Judas inside the train. Christ yellow you have tears Sony with a wheat you have the chaff right with the corn and wheat right there growing together in here. He's outed very subtly very covertly by the Pharisees, has beautiful thing when you think about it it's happening right here with the feast of unleavened bread yet and unleavened means that nobody's puffed up, but the reason they want to murder him is because they are puffing out now and and Jensen said beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and what was that from the inside right so you got Judas here comes the leaven the puffed up one he thinks he's got a better planning.

God and and and and so all my goodness it's fixed, and you know about what you talk about 11 in your recent study, you toil for a show of the Passover because the assets next question and then I went into this is a tee up for you because you have been deep in this early this morning, so what's the significance about the Passover feast in its preparation.

Now I'm in a comment in the near and a take off on the significance 11 and 11. As you just did eloquently. My comment is this this is supposed to be a festive time of preparing for a just a massive national worship of Almighty God, hear the son of God, and God the son, Jesus Christ, the heir to the throne. Is there and he is the Passover lamb is leading the Passover service needs dispatch these two disciples will relate his passion to go find a place for them to have this wonderful feast. So it's a time of celebration and it's a time of feasting, but you have this darkness, various evil, I mean hellish demonic plot during this great feast to worship God to actually destroy God Robbie so you can't you you'll never see two more contrasting pictures of evil in good light and darkness, colliding when you see it right here in Luke 22 and in the list is nobody's never contrasted more then by the leaven you know Paul said he a little 11 leavens the whole lump yellow senior camp. He came down hard at church in first Corinthians.

Much like Peter did in acts five on Ananias is a fire were God killed him, and people were being killed by God for abusing the Lord's supper. The feast that showcased in contrasted leaven verse unleavened so when you know about the Passover and I love to do Passover Seder's that are absolutely amazing the Jews. One of the things that they do for the entire week before the Passover, they go hunting. What they called the Mets which is leaven right.

They gotta find it every little corner and they got a clean and they got to do all the stuff of no and and they'll even tell you that how Mets puffs up right and that's what Paul was speaking of London innovative TechNet be in puffed up, but what's fascinating when you really study it, you're gonna see that that word how Mets starts with the letter that's called hat in in Hebrew, but the word matzoh in the word how Mets similarly have almost exactly the same letters with one difference. The word matzoh which means unleavened bread which is Passover, which is what they're talking about here. Starts with a man which means essentially the Messiah and and then it has is the attic which means somebody is to make something right something to make something righteous but then it ends with what's called a hey and this letter according to Jews and they teach this has an opening that is meant for repentance so that the air is let out the puffy out of your brow you know that so but it starts out with essentially the Messiah is going to make things right through repentance. Now when you look at the word how Mets it starts with what's called a hey excuse me, it starts with the with what's called the check ahead. That's the fidgety and that letter looks just exactly like the hay except one thing it doesn't have the opening.

The air can come out now.

The word actually the letter kinda means life, but then it has the same ma'am meeting the Messiah and the same is attic which would be righteousness. But the point is, is itself righteousness versus usually is when you look at the two words now at the end of John the Baptist of Elijah's name ends with that letter and letter which means repentance.

And so what they are looking for.

Remember the spirit of John the Baptist was from a caused sons to look for their fathers and fathers look for their sons. Why is because the air had been let out of their bag.

John the Baptist was tell them you can't meet God's standards on your own. Your heirs you beg you got a gun to repentance.

Unfortunately, the Pharisees were just getting more and more and more puffed out they had to be their own Savior.

They had to you displace God and that's an and that's where you get this. This right here at Passover.

Does this beautiful picture of this leaven just ready to explode versus Jesus who couldn't be any more than to write a smile as fasting and really get more deeper and promise me you'll you'll do to help me drill deep drill deeper on his Robbie when we get into the feast of the Lord supper next time because we forget the Passover how it's fulfilled by Christ, but the importance of why they had leavened bread on the night of the Passover in Egypt way back in exes, I think it's chapter, maybe 12, 13, 14, so I want to get in that next time gazettes or that passage, but this is a real important set up because you see the notion of leaven. You see the spiritual is eight and of it lived out in the contrasted with Jesus, who is our Passover and the self-righteous pomposity of the Pharisees and scribes, and even Judas who was inflated with the self-righteous and coyotes and traders. Now this is really good delegate verse one so the feast of the Passover 11 bread Junior was called Passover, the chief priest scribes sought how they might kill them. They fear the people then Satan energy Judas, surnamed Iscariot which a name is connected it to where he was from.

It simply a geographical designation who was numbered among the 12 so he was one of the 12 in so verse 4 He Went His Way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray them so he lit betray him, to them, so he literally is is hatching a plan and conferring and verse five it says and they were glad by the way is the only time in the whole Bible we see the Pharisees glad that interesting.

They were glad they were either in a in that seven they were glad to their the celebration feast. They were glad that their fellow countrymen did come in from all tribes and nations. Hellenistic Jews from Cyprus and Egyptian Jews and Jews from Africa and all over. They were glad about the fact they were there to worship God and celebrate his deliverance from Egypt and from sin and the Messiah is here. They were glad they were to kill God. They were glad they finally found a guy who they could turn in that the Satan Artie turned to destroy Jesus.

That's why they were glad in that amazing and looking at it is very clear about that right here. They agreed to give him money is interesting how monies always involved in it is always at your there's always good to be among the love of money is at the root of all evil will to the root right here is so this is really fasting so they give money verse six, so he promised and sought opportunity to betray him to them. In the absence of the mold in order to get addresses passes next time because we are totally out of time, Robbie. But Jesus is granted sin, Peter and John off on an expedition to prepare this Passover feast was a big deal at the clear that had a good sizable group there.

You know 12 or so you know we Jesus. 13 and maybe some some others, and so he went to dispatch them to do that motion asked this question right here which would be the third question and will always at the linger over our wonderful audience in all of our affiliates. Listening to this program. So glad you're here in so many folks to listen to this teaching Robbie read that question and let's let it just kinda sounded at St. Hoxie after Judas who walked with him all that time become a traitor and what is it mean that Satan entered so that's a heavy question in that's a question working on wrap up with.
