We had a lot of college football are mind today, Martin Jarman, who is the UCLA athletic director. He is in our greenroom is going to join us about 18 minutes time UCLA with a win at the Rose Bowl over Utah last week Utah taking a USC taking on the other new Big Ten team from Southern California later on this weekend, and a huge college football weekend with Alabama visiting Tennessee three versus six Penn State visiting my alma mater, Michigan for five versus 10 Michigan versus Penn State Joel Klatt is calling that game on Fox sports is good to join us in our number three and then I got a text the other day in the midst of the whole to do over the roughing the passer penalties that a been called absurdly by two officials over the weekend got somebody wants to chime in on the subject matter. Got a text from one Warren Sapp saying he wants in a EY Andaman one Indiana on the conversation, and so much so he is coming up for air from his Hawaiian vacation to chime in on the subject matter.

He's in Hawaii right now. Indeed, he is three hours behind us a big time huntress a is he going to be awake yes because he said he says that he's kept his watch on Eastern standard Time on his wrist okay and I asked him, is everything okay if you want to really do it and he wrote hashtag scuba sap, not that that's the hashtag used WoW in a text detached tagging is owned scuba sap coming up for air. Okay he wants in on the subject matter. That's awesome hi all, yes, it would know. I reset it all up. Instead of saying Roger that. He said Brady that Brady that and I'm like maybe ever since they won the Super Bowl in Tampa would Brady. It's now no longer Roger that it's Brady that okay so Sapp is Brennan is a game out of and he's ready for us that will be in the middle of our number two and will also have a a fun October tradition here on the rich are essential for those who are new to us maybe because you're watching us on the Roku channel channel 210.

For the first time every year right around this time. Usually we do.

After four games, but since they expanded to a 17 game regular season schedule, through a soft low bit. But now that we've got five games and Chris Brockman is going to give me the names of six NFL teams selling 6.3 in each comp okay and we are going to you're going to ask me their chances of making the postseason and we call the we call the segment we talk and play officer Watt based on the caller we got from Long Island years ago.

In the years of the Pat Shermer mediocrity that might actually even be upgrading what the Giants really work going into the season when they had no shot dead in the in the living Edwards in the lake in which we love it so much is because everybody's got a shot. We knew the Giants had no shot this guy from Long Island called in and asked this question, we all know what is name the only way I want to hear from him again is a lie app sees the personification of the optimistic New York fan that has no business being optimistic. So later onward and outward and play another rousing annual tradition, addition of we talk and play officer what were are you bro where is but were all here. As I mentioned to Big Ten country and I kind of mentioned this touched upon adjuster a couple minutes ago and we might as will hit it again here we talk every now and then in the non-playing seasons in the depths of trying to fill some time on three-hour sports talk show many people do this not just us just talk about what's the best time of this year right.

What's the best month on the sports calendar and some people mentioned January because it's the college football national championship and it's the NFL playoffs and many people mentioned April Wright April is a good one. April is a real go because that's when NBA and NHL playoffs begin. That is when the Masters occur. That is when the final four workers. That is when baseball throws its first pitch really good month right really strong year that many here. September is one because football's back you get the pennant races and things of that nature.

October gets mentioned a lot to and the reasons are sometimes not obvious when you talk about April and things of that nature.

But this weekend is exactly why October is mentioned on the sports, because look at the football docket this weekend.

We are so blessed and I know I'm saying this on the day that week six of the NFL kicks off with the Washington commanders at the Chicago Bears. I understand that I get it. Even back in okay with Carson Wentz and the Washington commanders having started the season at an unacceptable one and four.

Not acceptable when you've got playmakers on offense and you've got a defense that's waiting to get shakes young back, but it's not acceptable and the coach Ron Rivera. When asked why your one wire you wanted for and the rest of the division's uniform want to father Nonie basically stares right at the reporter doesn't blink doesn't started since quarterback and then we learn today about what's going on potentially with the Washington commanders and Dan Snyder in the midst of that mind-boggling mindnumbing mind blowing reports about Dan Snyder and what he might be up to to try and save himself from being tossed out of the league by 24 of his colleagues in membership is that he's the one who apparently pushed further once deal in Washington. See got down on top of everything tonight when he goes into Chicago for the Bears and EU birth Lewis you have a chance to get to 500 by the way you always are what you are in the NFL.

So even a gamer. People like talking on an NFL matchup that is less than huge. Every games huge in this weekend.

You've got Eagles Cowboys five and O versus four and one Sunday night Sunday night in front of the whole country varsity.

Let's go and then prior to that, it's entirely possible that the kickoff of Sunday Night Football comes on right on the heels of the end of bills and Chiefs late window on six PBS they got back on top of it that might be reversed and the Cardinals in the Xerox by the way that game might and right as Sunday Night Football starts because if there's a game for right in the playoff series between the Mariners and the Astros first picture that game is slated for the exact time when the Seahawks would kick off against the Cardinals and they play right next door to each other in Seattle that start time would get moved an hour and 1/2 to accommodate the traffic at 230 local Seattle and that's a huge game to and Tom Brady visits Pittsburgh and that's not good because you can say that all you want, you said that also, with all due respect about Monday night game between the Raiders and Chiefs and look what happened there that the shafts are in Green Bay. Laugh all you want about the gangrene versus Green Bay that's pretty damn big in every single game you see on the docket, but I got a snake showing for all of your 213 return. I left at the Jets Patriots in preaching some brown spellcheck back where he once belonged in there too infrequent. This is the time a year you got the ravens in the Giants right the G-man and hole trying to balance the ravens after they just beat the Bengals who put Joe Borel back in the Superdome. This week I meet all of these games. We've got gotten enough football action for the stakes to be raised to a significant point in week six were you better start winning because if you don't win now. Then everything after that is most when all you want to keep on keeping on with your great start.

The stakes just get this much more intense.

Right now the same thing goes with college football Tennessee health thought we were talking about last week's game. Texas A&M and Alabama. We circled that one in the summer because of what went on between Jimbo Fisher and obviously Nick Sabin and now Nick showing up after that one in the Tennessee where Rocky top. Thanks Dave.

They're about to take out Nick Michigan and Penn State five versus 10 again. We got the A/D of UCLA coming out here shortly. UCLA Chip Kelly top 20. Here we go, USC versus Utah youth. This is where things began to get really intense and then I just mention playoff baseball partridges drew blood on the Dodgers last night. Braves got even after having the Phillies draw blood on them. Looks like Yankees and guardians get rained out tonight but Houston. How will Seattle respond to getting carded baseball playoffs were down to the final leg that's in full swing NBA tips off next week were all talking about what the hell's going on with the defending world champs because sucker punches get thrown in practice and how their appeal to put that back together. We just had Jeannie Bossi or the Lakers are about to tip off against those warriors. Zion tweaked his ankle last night. I mean this is the site and I really beginning beginning the talk myself into some lofty goals about your clippers. Okay say anything and you know that Nancy's put it all back together and the drama health exam drama everything we just saw through the summer there about to tip off the NHL just dropped pop the avalanche know how to celebrate Conor McDavid showing that he could put the biscuit in the basket. Patrick on the Kings game tonight J see you go to Kings game, but you guys got going together guy's strengths and parks together with carpool best for a let's back this is this is why I I always put my marker on October this is this this week. I love it. You do love it.

Until Michigan started playing football again that matters and that I get really nervous. But that's what it's all about stakes get raised in football just enough of the stuff for this stuff.

We know what people already are right.

What can be or what holes they need to dig out of this is this is it this weekend. I love it. What's that you 844204 Rich being the number to dial Joel Klass of Fox sports. Who is going to Ann Arbor today to call Saturday's big noon on Fox fourth straight week.

He's calling a Michigan football game big noon on Fox third time is going to the big O second time. Parties going to the big house he called Maryland, Michigan, and then he called Iowa, Michigan, Iowa, Michigan, Indiana, and he's calling Penn State at Michigan this weekend huge game I'll ask about both the college football contest, such as mentioned warrants that once in on the roughing the passer conversation. So when 99's as I wanted you open the door.

Gingerly, as is coming up for air from his scuba vacationing in Hawaii scuba snap, not hashtag only come back let's talk. Let's talk some Big Ten football with UCLA athletic director. There is a woman who went the distance who broke ground as the first true influencer by living a remarkable life care name Elizabeth Taylor. I'm Katie. This is the story of the original influence or this is Elizabeth I Elizabeth I time you listen back on the rich Isa show terrestrial radio affiliate and Brett were were were thrilled to have our whole family together and again no introducing our our interview gets the athletic director of UCLA athletics Martin Jarman here on the rich Isa show and so let's just jump into it man, I am a Michigan guy, which again so a couple years ago in the final four was very disappointing for me. While your relation led to my deflation the stigmata set, almost when it pitched almost when I was scared their keyword is almost for you, no doubt about it, and so big 10 country yeah now when you took the gig in in 2020. Was there any inkling in your mind that you might be taken over a Big Ten program know know you can imagine that no not at all, II just knew what UCLA was and what it represented but college athletics was changing so much. That's what I did know, and that was in that in the heart of pandemic you just started right when I took the job so I had enough things that were that were on the plate right off the bat that I would think about conference realignment and so you know and you obviously have your roots in in the Big Ten in college athletics and in the athletic department and again just pointing out Chris and everyone else to testing my professionalism for having Martin here at Michigan State associate athletic director and then of course he had some time with old SUVs obstruct the Ohio State so you know the conference I named you the conference. Yes, you have spent 15 years in the conference know the conference very well, very competitive, high-level academic athletics from their familiar with so it was it was something that I was familiar with. So when when did you first catch wind that this is a possibility. Martin your go to the Big Ten went… You know the thing that you start with. You always want to position your student athletes for success and I look at UCLA and our student athletes and was going to give us the best opportunity to win big and compete big at the highest level that's what our students deserve. This would become UCLA for this one that platform and so looking at college athletics is very chaotic. You got name, image and likeness.

Yet the transfer portal starting to have a conference realignment up. I believe in July 2021 with with Oklahoma, Texas and so everything shifting and and you, look at okay was going to position us for whatever college athletics is looking like and worth going and that was to me. That was the Big Ten unit were too many positives about competing that one from an exposure standpoint is significant and that's for student athletes and now you're entering a name, image and likeness era where brand and exposure and and being able showcase your skills and talents is big and you know been on the West Coast. You know this like these because you always see games that there's a late game. Aeschylus is not watching right so now you're in an environment where you want to showcase your student athletes and their skills and and what is that platform is going to be available to them but to show that so those kind of things just got got us thinking like you know what we need to really look at this thing and that was the time to do it and so far was it around the summers and when it was over here. You're always looking at it you started probably in the fall of 21. Just thinking about things, but things moved quickly later, but it was it was something it was always like in the back of your mind like Amanda.

That makes a lot of sense for different reasons. It was a fit academically and athletically. In some institutions. So to me it it it made sense, but it was a matter of I don't know if it can happen or not it was just a long process of course, but it did come together really fast so my question for you are willing to share with US your partner in this like where you did it was your participation in the Big Ten tied to USC's and they do yours and you will think they had their separate pathway. We both have separate paths we were always think about UCLA you know from my standpoint. What makes sense for us. And as I I learned more and we started learning more and gather information.

It just made sense for us so that was that was never, I was not in communication with them or we warrant because when you do something like this. You're very focused.

It is only a small amount of people at all that are that are involved in something like this decision so you know I chance it was gray and administration and we just kind of move forward in it worked out. They took the vote and it was unanimous right and then it just happened to be like you just all USC's coming to me and resent how it was. I mean it was towards the end. Yes, you got an idea, but it wasn't like something that was together.

The whole time. I mean it when it came together really fast at the end and that's when obviously you are aware that they were applying for membership – and we were at the same time but but it was some at the end, how concerned are you that your games at the Rose Bowl. By the way, which I'd I'd cover games the Rose Bowl from Michigan. I love this facility. I want this for so I'm upset to be very honest that there were, in order to see the national chapter game in Los Angeles in Southern California and it's not the roast you know and I understand how beautiful Sophia's and I love the people it so far but I mean the Rose Bowl sends icons. It is kind is, but how concerned are you that it's going to be a road game for you in the first couple years may be in Big Ten as far as the stadium is not just in terms of the fans owe up there that's not that's what I'm saying I life is been great. You know that there a lot of things early on in the season that you got a come back when you're when you're in the valley in Pasadena.

You know the heat was really hardness and but they we had something is there and I appreciate those fans being there. You know, we don't start growing 1/4 system, not a semester so our students don't come into the third or fourth game to school said a lot of things that go into that. But the reality is, once you win and you have asked good experience fans, that's what they did last game last two games. So I'm excited about about the fans and and just where were going and what were doing. Obviously what's going on right now is fantastic sauce sauce and then you know your next game. If I'm not mistaken it's a homecoming for chip going up to Oregon and but it but bring in a team. It's right on the cusp of top 10 is gotta be a great hammy organ is really talented and I think to Patel you know is that about him us about our guys and their guys in know you got a go for 60 minutes and whoever best known whenever this is currently electric.

I've never been there with Vance's two years ago, half played their right is that I was only there was anything and so I've heard. It is like one of the best center atmospheres in the pack 12 so will worksite about how much blowback are you getting about your decision going about your business in the pack 12 this year owe heartening that you know I don't worry about that when when is something like this. You do what's in the best interest of your students, you know, and in my heart of hearts I know is the right decision for us from a lot of UCLA people are excited by a large majority of our student athletes are excited.

I've talked over 200 student athletes there there geek about this their mouth about it and NS was served so that's that's what concern myself with. And so the outside noise. You can you can get caught up in that.

But you know you're doing the right thing.

You sleep well and and I doing this just about focusing now on preparation get ready. This two years from now.

So what we need to do to make sure that when we get to the Big Ten were ready compete at the highest level off the rip when you have car.

Are you already in conversations about which division you're in what's going on as you all know we haven't had those conversations yet were doing internal work right now were looking at the Big Ten teams internally.

We have a committees with student athletes on were coaches assessing where we stack up against different resources wise will do that in the next year will start to look it really okay what is it look like in all of our sports sports competition in the Big Ten. What we need to where we can go from day one and be successful and compute the highest level sure. So we haven't had those conversations with the Big Ten.

Yet what were really just had a focus on our homework and then looking at assessing what the competition is how you put a schedule together ramming that watched one of the challenges there where you gotta have those decisions sooner than later. You have it's like football especially.

But I'll be the basketball you know signing day for football as I think December 23 in for the Olympics courses this November night so you gotta start to at some point next two months here. You gotta have some clarity hopefully on scheduling a different parameters so that we can kind of put that stuff together when I travel one about your turn in and not blenders were obvious that I've spent the first 10 minutes in this conversation with you.

Football centric barely touched upon basketball and you know UCLA has a history and that the lifetime the, the, I guess this the rest of your athletic department and travel budget for for I guess for the lack of better phrasing nonrevenue sports or revenue that both the lesser revenue sports and try to come up with the proper words when I put my foot in my mouth, but what one of the challenges for for that for for team-based out here in Southern California when everyone else is mostly on the Eastern time zone you know it will be a little more travel, but this mitigation things that were doing working with the Big Ten to be some scheduling things that they're going to help us with obviously having Southern Cal going as well within her share resources looking at charters and different things.

So it is not going to be probably what you hear as far as a significantly more than we do. Right now, no sin to be close to the same number of trips. If not for some of our sports less. Actually 11, I believe our sports are going to be impacted from moving to the Big Ten certain sports golf. You have 16 teams at a neutral site you know is not a traditional travel on the road play two games come back so is not going to even be all of our sports that are significantly impacted the ones that do there to be some mitigation things that were able to do whether his charter weather is academic support some different things so as not to be significant is going to be a little more, but it's not gonna be probably what some some of the stuff that is set out there.

Does UCLA have cold-weather gear. Does it exist, we don't right now but we have time to have yours unknown on a nightly connections Nike enduring brave and great and I'm sure that we can we can ramp up for winter UCLA winter camp but you know a lot like coming up in Southern California goes both ways.

Now I know that I know that is going to give you an idea yes okay love ideas, it's because we only wear what I did recall it already has consulting but which I wasn't sure okay put in their when you come out with the winter. You maybe with the ball and tumbled. We call those who could toboggan Kelly you call it the beanie row whatever likely okay you call it an eight Eight That is good that is good. When we caught a cab at UCLA at eight, get on the phone after this. I like that is a good idea that you want a royalty to me to be clean case is consulting this one is on the house or go to various consulting firms ones on work on the business plan as I'm talking business and I have a good bit of money. The business plan, Pauly gets a basketball.

I love serving beer one, just enough, there was a nice glass of wine and he was smart and higher register on me about our idea by the higher register on the rich. I wasn't sure say something you don't believe in the high read your surprise I can try your surprise in my eyes functional.

I was surprised at the quality of the suggestions I was really good olive prize the quality. Thank you for Nike you heard a surprisingly lucid and will call it a night and for you Need to Admit will send you one was my will think you and your suggestion from a fan as well. I got Sean Mitchell of the rich eyes and show staff are our digital produce of our digital program I use he and I are usually vent request for German, tell him UCLA fans want the return of the Navy blue script on the helmet Navy blue script on the home they go to all here like that is non-think about the return of the blue script on your zip up right here right that's what he wants on the home, and I think my first thought was what would Chip think about that is the first know I don't I don't want to change something that's been for a while but but okay. We always take suggestion Vicki run it up the flagpole and the flag itself.

Okay, so if you see if we see the script UCLA on the helmet will know you know that we definitely have to have a rich eyes, and shall yeah I know we have are going to guess what we would have to be would have to understand very good understand before right before I let you go.

Let's talk a little bit about the future with you if you if you don't mind the off-site director of UCLA Martin Jarman here on the rich eyes and show so when when UCLA and USC join the Big Ten. My first thought was, this is the this is the beginning of the end of the way that college athletics has been arranged that simple. You now have a conference where Rutgers is right near the Jersey shore, UCLA and USC is right near the Pacific Ocean, like we've never seen anything like this before and that it's only going to stand to reason another conference. My product do you think were heading towards just a power five world and everyone else's just got a may be playing relegation and things of that nature. Are we looking at a soda professionalizing of the way that college athletics is put together certainly on the football front, but you think I don't think that I think we're under extreme change right now college athletics. I think everything is chaotic and so when there's chaos is almost like the markets right now you feel like anything can happen, or the worst can happen. So I think if we take a breath, and I really do think things are going to call now in college athletics but I do think the rate of change is not going to do so right now with an IL for example you talk about is their congressional help to to try to normalize some of the rules that try to make it consistent.

I don't know if that's going to happen. I don't I would say don't bet on is what I would say this is a AA phrase phrase to the reason why am saying that that this is due the way that college athletics is heading towards being arranged is if you're waiting for Congress to step in reminder and old and gray so this way you you can create your own much smaller world where you your program and other like-minded programs with similar goals and similar revenues and similar budgets can all get together and figure out an IL on your own. That's what I'm saying is easy to do that was you said you're not going to solve your problems waiting for someone else. Price off or having 300 school say I want this.

I want that right. I think you're going to see some change where some autonomy will come in to some of the autonomous five conferences. I think as we consolidate a little more that that the power in the rules and everything governing it needs to equate for the differences in schools. You don't wear different. We look different than it I don't want to go to school. But reality from Southern California that's in a conference currently like the pack 12 for business and realities that are different among the school that has to be addressed and and my hope is that we as a as an NCAA as as institutional leadership. We figure it out. We can't worry about others to try to figure out our own challenges so that said, yes, this is going to change, but I don't think it's going to be like this. You're going to like Premier league or something. I don't think that's going to happen. Okay, like I just think it's going to change differently. We don't know what it is but not but I hope that the leadership in college athletics right now and take more of a step forward and say hey this is what makes our game and make student athletes best and we try to do it that way they look, I know you got enough on your plate this a lot I'm trying to assimilate into a new and or trends transition from your current world to the next one. But who wears this autonomous you know power going to come from.

If it's not the incidentally is it the college football playoff system which is separate from the NCAA will be part of it.

But also we have a transformation committee. This is doing work right now. The recommend changes I think is going to be transformation committee, CFP those things. A change in an end and I don't know you know the reality is you just gotta position your program for what's best and that's what were trying to UCLA that's why we're doing what were doing and is going to be an interesting ride, but the basketball world doesn't get touched right. I mean, because you get the tournament is as good as I was unattended I don't I don't see why we would know I love German. I got you a lot of excitement know about the term and I don't I don't I don't hear a lot of those external pressures. As far as that needs the changes you know so I don't see that changing best is my opinion on one guy, but it's illiterate. Basketball is is one of the best things for me. I played in it. I know what that experience is for student athletes is remarkable.

So I hope that that doesn't change this. My hope was what was UNC Wilmington were 12 C 15 C 15 CMT decision on two seated who would you take him to see the Cincinnati Yamaha engine Martin broke his hand and if I'm not mistaken they might have an assistant coach and a Mick Cronin could not do. This is the world is small so you plan only minutes, 7 acres is you brought the energy off the bench. Okay so you're you're coming off the bench. Are you planning for first 15 seated UNC Wilmington in an NCAA tournament game against the second-seeded Cincinnati Bearcats assistant coaches. Now the head coach of UCLA and the athletic director. I mean, you can't make it out.

This often will you tell McCrone one thing for me please talk about not succumbing to outside pressures. I love the fact that he suits and boots, man. He's clean clean. I just love it when everybody else dresses like they're going to the gym. You know that a date date the you know I understand what the pandemic was doing and everybody just like back into dressing down. But you know I think that the the ability did to student boots still exists. He's one of the few do. And I love it. Yeah he he looks great into his life. Every every couple games he wears through them like man that's that was really nice. I like really lasts really doesn't anymore mean LJ right even even before he retired. He he he gave us on UNIX dress like Johnny dangerously and now you press you know and then started dressing like he's going to the gym that there is the, except as the right coach right there. I love it had been about a yellow from the legal element please thanks for coming, and hopefully you know whenever your schedule allows us come down before visuals is easy to get here, ma'am. I have to be here little more.

Now that's dingy not living up here from North Carolina, spent a lot of time in the Midwest just took you two years for wonder, like the 405 too much just I understand it is the LA thing. You are your you're already here in LA.

It's Big Ten country.

Don't you know more German cancer, in your face letter.at the athletic director of UCLA athletics right here on the rich eyes and show look for the In a store near you very very soon.

I don't know man I'm just thinking one day polygamy saying I don't know the athletic director was involved in the transition in the middle of everything with 11 point football team in the country and UCLA basketball on his back pocket and everything else but doesn't know. I don't know but don't you think this is heading towards 64 7080.

Whatever member schools and will figure out who's in, who's not some some sump all most are in and there's good to be another league where you can be relegated into an elevated to. He says he doesn't think it will be primarily, I just I don't know why that wouldn't be the perfect set up for college premier leaking, absolutely absolute is the way to go is the way to go because it's not just the revenue aspect of it, and it's not just scheduling aspect of it. The NOL world that's all you hear from folks who are that we interview athletic directors, coaches, commissioners right there all like wanting some uniformity, some uniformity and if there waiting for college football to do it themselves from the NCAA home office or Congress to do it. Never old and gray Google old and gray before that happens.

Will Dyer hair getting together getting together and calling creating a small subset where you can then say world like-minded like revenue and universities. We all have similar goals are all very similar in our DNA from the conferences we used to be part of let's create our own and I all rules in here and everyone else can do whatever they want to do. That's why I can't write the questions is what is the impetus to make it happen and he mentioned to transition every commute committee be what is the impetus to make it happen. To sit down and sleep. Finally were going to figure this thing out, as opposed to piecemeal and get together and doing a 14 playoff analogous to expand to a 12 team system that's coming that might be part of the impetus after going through that process and seeing that the sky hasn't fallen. The world hasn't crumbled and you can then figure out the next step is to who's involved in those 12 team playoff system world and I really feel that the Domino that would tumble to make this thing happen is Notre Dame deciding or Clemson being free of whatever ACC contract holds that conference together still in the ever-changing world that might be what changes Joel Clatskanie joined us to talk about the college football weekend to come with Alabama visiting Tennessee and Penn State visiting Michigan. That's using our number 31 Satsuma Joyner shortly wants in on the roughing the passer world that we live in right now we all know Grady Jarrett sack of Brady wasn't rough in the passer. We all know that Chris Jones is sack ripped fumble and fumble recovery. One of the most athletic moves I've seen from about 300 some odd pound man that wasn't rough and he was he wasn't roughing Derek Kari was sacking him to the ground, made an incredible play and actually used the offhand is non-ball carrying hand which you never say about somebody was in the process of second quarterback effort he actually was at hand to make sure he didn't put his full body weight on. I wasn't roughing.

I think we have an idea which we sent Celine and this cannot think Sampson's apps can want this damn thing reviewed, and I think he wants.

He's he's with me as well. These should be reviewed and just to bring everyone up to speed. I don't mean that fish the coach gets a thorough challenge flag on.

I'm saying that the NFL already has an eye in the sky from the headquarters of the NFL where people are looking at games and helping official spot footfalls and save coaches challenges by reversing immediately called fumbles or reversing immediately called incomplete passes to the other sent and spine football and we should fold roughing the passer into that and I'm just genuinely concerned that the folks who make these decisions in the competition committee and the operations office and then maybe ownership it doesn't doesn't understand the enormity of this and what causes me to feel that lately is just knowing that nothing.

Change in the middle of the season in terms of reviewing that and I understand that that's Presidents' Day don't have a season where five gate five weeks was reviewed a certain way and the rest isn't is now reviewed a different way. I got that. But the issue of just not understanding the enormity of it comes from a tweet like item chapters from today put it up on the screen. Adam are buddy HFD tweeting out a league source said today. Quote there is no backing down and enforcing rules that are in place to protect the health and safety players including quarterbacks who by ruler, consider defensive players when they are attached imposter."

I read this on Mike hey I don't know who this person is I might be very friendly with them and if I am, I sincerely say.

With all due respect, in advance, when talking about when talking about. We want less roughing the passer penalty is called were talking about. We want less roughing the passer penalties that aren't roughing the passer call.

That's were looking for. Okay this is what were asking about not saying you protecting the quarterback too much and we all understand Jerome Boger and Carl shepherds. The referees involved are well-intentioned and are sent onto the field as the first line of protection is a thin blue line to make sure of quarterbacks not roughed it, that's understood.

We want to help them not below the cone for the whole country, leaving us to talk about Carl shepherds is mind-boggling. The unintelligible response as to why he called it roughing the passer instead of the actual remarkable athletic play of a remarkably talented player like Chris Jones that's asking for you to call fewer roughing the passer calls were asking to call fewer stupid roughing the passer calls not just gives me concern when you don't get it. You get what were saying and what damage is being called amongst the cost amongst the fan base who loves the sport and wanted better officiated. That's it.

That's were asking for saying call, fewer, fewer have actually been compensated. We just want fewer stupid call our to come in I should come up with a better, stupid.

Well, I mean it is absurd, nonsensical, ridiculous, since call deem altering the maddening infuriating but we want fewer of them having all the above.

So I hear it, just like I don't think anybody's call, calling out the NFL's lack of desire to protect quarterbacks and no one thing that might be in that might be a response to the hold to situation anywhere and I want to go back in the 80s when jacked up in the knowledge they find to the air question city. It's nothing, we just want what little our eyes are letting us down.

We see the play we know that's not roughing wise black bright because the officials thought it was roughing in real time and are tuned to protect the quarterbacks an error on that side of the equation rather than the getting it right side of the equation. Anything in the real Tommy are getting it right to the point where they look at a pool reporter and look at them and say yes, I'm the only person in America right now feels this way you fell in. I can't believe everyone to disagree with what you what you mean. I got it wrong. Are you serious serious. You blew it and it's infuriating and it causes fans to think you want to take even.

I mean, that's another aspect of this to try and make sure we get this right in the way I'm saying is it's refs helping refs refs with the ability to color rough pick up the flag. That's all were asking for Ross Matthews talks to celebrities who French and people with interesting stories to tell Hussein hello Ross this week.

Chelsea handler has to have 1/3 time basically is not getting another dog that she had to take care of another dog until one of these times that I have three mosquitoes and only two hands any one person. It's too hard to do.
