Jesus masculine using hand one feels more like a losing battle when something done, my very and then I was planning to be here. That didn't work out very well, so he's not with us today use still driving back to Virginia so hopefully he'll be back.

Thompson. That's our topic today is now number to talk about members we usually talk about out a lot were to talk about plans and our plans always work out talk about those little inconveniences that can happen, but those big plans you make for your life that I'm sure you guys known somebody along the way that their life just didn't work out the way they thought it would it would you agree that that happens hundred percent hundred percent.

It is only a click pretty quickly in its from the movie fun with Dick and Jane and it's about a executive that comes up through the ranks and has a lot invested in the company and the company tanks and let's see what happens after that I was sure but it seems that we may get a little pickle deck will sure our financial bounce back longer than expected natural process today. They can do that now I'm you should start thinking about accepting something a little bit lower than the vice president know to be 15 years to get a VP ship by step back now is everything I work for sucking up for a couple months. Come on savings savings single stock know Billy is looking at the glass half full X6 standing in her house since local property market if we sold our house today. We would actually all hundred and 50 grand was churning in my gut that we can afford.

Billy loses all security relationships. I just spent his whole life just alone, just just like okay with that but that's fun to watch the movie the little boy comes in and starlight along matters he speak Spanish because he spent so much time with people to help them take care of the house and he does it really is parents and so he speak Spanish. Throughout the whole moving pretty funny. But you deftly hear a couple that had their life planned out lease the husband did and the wife is come along with human resources and things it cannot happen if things don't work out as planned in the clip we heard what would we hear Robby what was happening between the couple.

Obviously they had expectations financially that were going to lead to their happiness. Somehow another, and without saying anything within the relationship that was right right and there's messenger and radio show are so often focuses on healing and freedom that found her walking more intimately with father no one wants to see a counselor, but often times I find myself stuck needing a little bit more help my friends and seasons of the heart. Human catheters help you find healing through the father for information on seasons of the heart. That's messenger the radio.org welcome back the masculine journey we're talking today about something that I think most everybody something doesn't work out as planned and what I'm talking about the party that didn't happen I thought was happening or cable shut off right in the middle of the football game. Things like that right which would be frustrating for the treatment of the B Heidi, which happened back in you. Remember that we talk about when life doesn't work out the plans you make for yourself and and often will think about God abandoned me or doesn't love me. That's one place we might take it or we may take it internal, Robby sent me an article this week about what happens internally tree ensure little bit about the actually those that know me know that my mother's been really really ill and so is I guess in those situations and we are facing. My mother's death. Maybe us siblings for the first time just a whole lot of drama happen that I really wasn't expecting and caught me off guard and a lot of screaming and yelling old wounds got brought up and I was praying that next morning because I knew there was something drastically wrong here.

I mean, I knew that I was, not where I needed to be in Christ. I was not biting as early as I looked out across the field, which is part of the reason I love boot camps is because we get out there outside and I saw this big huge oak tree. As I went to that oak tree.

I thought that that oak tree is rotten but the inside of big trees like that.

They tend to always be right in the middle so I looked up the God blessed God, why is it that trees always right in the middle big old trees. Why did they become right in the middle and God said Google I took him up on it and I googled it and the very first thing that it's that it said's chemistry service which I sent you the article and can quickly said had nothing to do with God whatsoever. By the way other then he said the main reason I said most older big trees rod in the middle because of the wound and those wounds introduce bacteria and bacteria is nature's way of taking care of the trees is that they once that bacteria gets in their then begins to eat away the flesh of that tree, and the next thing you know you got a hollow tree.

Well, when I began to think about what was going on with my brothers and sisters, and there's a lot of wounds that but in Ken's article on trees you know how trees protect themselves against bacteria as you create something called a ram's horn, which I find fascinating that they called a ram's horn and Nate if you ever look it up like a tree that's got a big hole in it. You can see something that looks sort around and it's leveled like a ram's horn that it's it's it's curling itself around itself to protect itself from that bacteria now we have the Lamb the blood of the Lamb that's meant to heal our wounds, but in order to heal those ones.

It's blood got to get wrapped around it and we got to go back to where that won't happen in for my sister and myself we we had to get with each other really talk about why you remember this fight we had when we were kids and you remember where that went and how it happened and we we asked Jesus to come in there and he was both and we both got a little ram's horn be late but but the thing of it is as if we don't if we don't get some healing from those wounds work and end up a big old empty tree is rotted out and you see that a lot of times and guys, it's put their their profession is who they are, its identity, you know, I would eat you tell me about yourself. Why do this for a living. That's what must I say what happens when that's gone and I left without hollow feeling and feeling abandoned the feeling all these things and that's where the enemy loves to come in will listen to or click here from the lion King and talk about it when I come back with. This is from the clip. This is when does name the little ones, send SMS talk about going to be king in his uncle scar is listen to the hate that he has in his voice that the young one doesn't recognize, I just, I guess. Okay G yes leaping for joy… You know a monkey's uncle. You have no idea. So father showed he didn't show you what lies right to dangerous and bravest live on this one. You can see the enemy starting to work this young tender place and so you seen the movie. I'm sure really what what happens later on in the movie when this this person's already got some type of authority with Simba is kind of accepted some of his lies.

You can simply get does go to that place is not supposed to go. It doesn't end up really well initially. Just think of how many of us got stuck R let our ambition, our bravest. That's where we need to go same kind of thing. Yeah.

And then when things happen enemy turns it back on Simba. That's what he loves to do. Does he let's turn us back to back on us, turn it towards God turn it towards other people and that's just where is get that fertile ground to work with it.

We had say no I'm not gonna give ground there and that's listing that larger story. We talk a lot about the larger story that is the context in which we live in a world at war. There is an enemy out there yet we live like he didn't exist in in and a lot of churches, unfortunately, don't bring spiritual warfare enough.

I was talking to my this week that said that in this is a 52-year-old person that said last year as a first time and they went to church her whole life with ever heard the term spiritual warfare and it just amazes me that there's this other entity out here it's really trying to kill and destroy our hearts in any way can but yet we don't pay any attention to it. So we talk about warfare can't talk about wounds and touch on some stuff here today that really at the boot camp really gives us the opportunity to open up and learn more about it and see how much it's really impacted our life how much it has rotted us from the inside out and you know that you bend a couple boot camps and you probably heard all the talks a couple times, but each time doesn't God do something different for you all guess and it's all so to speak. That's telling the story.

The story is always different, and what we will go through is in a similar way, but it's a completely different story. So it's very very interesting.

I marveled that the young people I really hope that we get young people to enjoy a boot camp come with us in all boot camp this coming up in April. Those are the ones that we should be really concerned about help them through their life expectations.

Sometimes it just happened.

A lot of times we can get young people sometimes it's auto to get all fogies like me some minds are set but I love Sam watch the young people when that I think is old as part of the book young men in working people there from 18 to out evenly, 80, 84, 84 so Nvidia may not be the oldest man at their that's right and Sargon have everywhere in between, and are coming from Colorado from different places.

This is just can be a great opportunity for you to come out and get this bigger context of the when life does happen you have something to compare it to and understand it better by one of my favorite talks is your place in the story we talked about that there's a larger story. But where do I fit in the story and how do I take the events of my life and triangulate that to understand maybe where God has me going and you know speaking of younger people in the clip. Rocky was stopped on his son. This is how it goes all sunshine and rainbows is a very mean and nasty place you will keep you is his life about how I just hit a key take as you listen to that club. There's so much truth in it. Life just keep many times if you thought in years but I just get passes next hurdle right so money but they come at you one time. You know to go through them and learn from each experience. That's the story.

So how do we get through those life events are going to happen. There's nothing around the corner for us at some point and they happen and so how would you what you hold to in the midst of it.

Maybe it is. I have a plan for this job and I lose it or have a plan to retire in retirements gone or my spouse is no longer with me. Those types of things you have these plans and they don't work out so what we hold on. In the midst of the storm rock is talking about the poster and that's the thing that I most boot camp that makes a huge difference is opportunities to go meet with God and ask him where we had. This is making a lot of sense.

Here you know what, what's the next move. What where do I get that information. And here we have a lot of men and we know that masculinity is is passed on by my men and having those kind of people around you that have walk through there and triangulated some serious wounds. You know people that have been abused. People that have had all sorts of wounds and a and and being able to come forward after some of that stuff.

Sam is huge and you given those talks.

Every time you know men come out and say wow this is what we needed to hear things that you know God works in people's hearts at the boot camps in. I know for me that's where you really reach my heart for the first time I was in 18 many I wish I was you know when it happened. I was probably 40 and so you know, it would've been nice to have known some of that one and was facing some of those challenges, but each one of those challenges and opportunity to overcome and learn about yourself. It's an opportunity to go to grow closer to God. Probably that's happened with you each time a 20 setbacks when you go to him and say what's going on. It doesn't feel right.

You have to anchor yourself to a couple truths yet to know that God loves you more than you can even comprehend. He wants the best things for you and they may not be exactly what you think they are.

And he wants you to have life more than you want that new car and so he come after that because he loves you and will sit there is an enemy planning this. So when you face a challenge pushed through hold on the fact that your father loves you and you're being opposed in your man enough to push through it with his help. Thanks for listening
