Hey this is Mike Zwick from if not for God podcast our show stories of hopelessness turned and I hope your chosen Truth Network podcast is starting in just seconds. Enjoy it, share it, but most of all, thank you for listening and for choosing The Truth Podcast Network. This is the Truth Network coming to an infringement barricade in the heart has given journey after our time to go to be more transparent on the topic sit back and masculine journey starts here welcome to masculine the after-hours blood had you this week. Yes, this is not Sam this is Robby.

This is me this isn't Harold this isn't David this is part I had to do it this evening and heart and know that I had a hardbound, if not next week, all all right and want to hear that but coming back. I don't know.

My bad. It's not Sam. I think we said at the seams with us on the phone he's working remote like Sam dear aunt Bart. But anyway this week were discontinued on our series on the stages masculine journey in Robby Woodley on this week. Well we did boyhood right and then we did cowboy Ranger and so today were off to warrior which is you know that later teens and to be on right now as far as you want to go. You will have a chance to battle for things and when you agree Harold McLaren dear like hundred and 2031.

It's a horrible horrible thing that I have to go through it with you. Please some fierceness there. Well you get off my lawn to the point though is is once a lawyer always a warrior and we got to remember that because the enemies not stop coming after feedings all copies keying Robby Sage now back off even more so because you can help somebody out in the other stages will talk about but so Sam got a clipboard to let him set it up and will get into the show degree warrior, speaking Harold right you know about and there is no doubt that word hardwired and I would not want to be angry at me for you never do what you would do the whole department driving my mother recalled kingdom of heaven. Not one of my favor moving. I really like what we have young man late warrior well in your state 20s maybe the rape of an orphan guy like dad wanting to go on an adventure. No dad leave things transpire and bail you have to leave quickly and runs after his father knows where to go where we picked up sleeping on the ground.

I got there the night before his father tosses down the sword to be a warrior's hand is is quite well I got this whole thing back really with him on Fabian killed the priest's brother John about my father on the little bishop to bring them back to the right I saved the child's face guilty five German friend is a close student of the law given Congolese a moderate, guys here today what you mean. I know it was real time and all you can use what we are walking directly born in in the world of war and the battles are raging around us, people read and learned I want to do by use it right away, God your word were on the field.

Learning that it really good for me that you have a guy that have not been bothered and literally bothered pretty quickly, and after the battle right now for sure this is once you realize that you actually are in a battle I think I think the enemy realizes he's about to lose a hold of something he had good naïveté for a long time, maybe passivity when you decide to stand up and fight to send it. You say well let's see what what what sin is Madeleine.

I think that's what you see in that clip. Yeah, I think you coming up in in grown-up and didn't charge my entire life. I know a couple guys don't appreciate it.

I will talk about it but it's almost like you get a watered-down version of what that spiritual battle may or may not be for me. I really, honestly, you know, I've read books, even though some people say I got a Google order book as I can read and then you know reading books about it really doesn't do it justice to get together with you know the father and in a group guys are really showing you what it's about. So for me to relate to Sam's clip just by the fact of you know I didn't really learn how to start spiritual warfare or start battling for myself and I went to my first boot camp and that's really where you know I got that little bit of meat from animals like dolomitic that on the Going with the second one. Everything else like that but also be no sampling at one time talking with Emerson stuff is very careful of what we are going to battle what we think is enemy, sometimes as God's disrupting was already in our life that he's got a break down and fix you know and that's really where where this starts to come up for me as warrior for me. I just think about so many times when it is charged in the battling and really didn't have that initiation that I needed to.

When you begin to look at it I may not remember back in the day I met was Christian. I was trying to live this thing out and I remember reading Ephesians 6 on the full armor of God, and I did that my prayer life a lot and I saw some fruit that I believe God was there but there was that there was some missing parts of that story. I didn't really I was trying to put on the battle but I really didn't have a lawyer's heart and I didn't have that I'm going to stick with this and this is truth in my body. The Lord is a warrior. The Lord is his name from Exodus, realizing that this is an attribute of God taking on and and I think really when you tie it back to identity it makes it much more powerful if it's just hanging out there on its own. I'm this this guy trying to put on the spiritual armor when you try it into I must put that armor on its four purpose sums extending the kingdom of God being part of his family so much more powerful. You bothered you well or something like that. There's formation there. I would think about when I was growing up, I learned how to fight. It wasn't that I didn't know how to fight my brothers got all the I knew how to fight fire warrior. I didn't know how to really battle this once in a while or whatever might be a big difference between that and being a warrior being skilled in knowing who the opponent is talking at the right walk today is work hard without saying that so to my click now I've surprise, surprise, it's from Braveheart stick with it you know it's all in their Braveheart movies up, but it speaks to me. I remember whenever before I really got into this mess seem Braveheart gladiator. Some of them might seem on the weekends you know your going to work every day.

You know you you're so disconnected from understanding spiritual warfare. But when you saw the movie something rose up within you, but there was nothing he could really do is you didn't really you want in the battle. You didn't really feel like it applied to you. That was just watching something from history. Something rose up with him in Braveheart to me is the classic masculine journey movie you see all the stages in it.

But this warrior you know that's really a lot of the focus of the movie is the warrior heart of Braveheart. We talked about in his boyhood cowboy Ranger how God's command and and shepherded his heart to prepare him for this warrior life is going to lead in this Robby point now as we were discussing this is really speaking, probably more as a king here because he's leading man, but he still has this warrior heart that inspires other men to go to battle with him, which is like a king but he's a warrior himself.

He doesn't just say go to battle with out with you know without me. He goes with them. He believed, and it's just a powerful clip and will talk about presenting your sales on the thanks to Joy that you get to Scotland is will will will hundred will you know when you will will one in and to me is so powerful is you here in the beginning. These claims may want to capitulate. They want to compromise. They want to give up on their freedom in it took him to step in and inspire war that come from I was watching the movie the other night and he almost had backed away the fact that he just wanted to come back and be a farmer and Mary moron and live happily I-the English were not to let him do.

And finally he realized okay the stuff that I got this training I got from father that I got from Margo Robby stockman all this that he had had poured into MEP head and reservoir to to give these men to inspire them to be able to talk about what what about your freedom is your freedom mean anything to you and really that's what called me out in some ways is that I was living a bondage type of life I was constrained by religion.

I was constrained by dullness and passivity, and when you call those things that you begin this out this life. That means something more. The one I'm living now is worth fighting for it. It is free. I think about when I was actually married Tammy I was 6 foot five, 240 pounds. Whatever was in the complete check. I was afraid of the dark. I really, really was not remember leaving the land of the bed and if there was a sound and Myers might like Tammy. Can you check on that as I was terrified. Is interesting how in the hundred 19 Psalms is all run in the path your commandments when you enlarge my heart.

See, I didn't realize that that that it was my fear was holding me in bondage actually met him. One night I actually asked Jesus you don't take this from me and he came in he said will Robby you know what your friend I said well if you seen the movie psycho and that's the shower scene. You know like for the non-how about Lizzie Borden took an action gamer has been 40.

Waxman is pretty scary.

And he said will Robby Melanson would be so bad about that.

And all of a sudden, he shall be Jesus to really my own mortality and like well you're threatening me with heaven and and someday lay in my bed.

I was laying there shivering right I will fast-forward that was actually about 1991, 93, actually. Well, 2017. I think it was that I'm laying in my bed and I hear somebody on the roof belittling somebody's on the roof walk around. I would read up and was en route often so man when I do I grab the shotgun really did a lot of dumb head out the door my wife like should I call the police. I said you better get fixed. As you know, next thing you know II cocked the shotgun going out the door and I hear this guy go.

Don't shoot, shoot, and there really was a guy on my roof and my wife was, when Salem Police Department same moment said you better get over here.

My husband got a gun on some guys on the roof I think is good to go. Every Winston-Salem policeman. I think that was within whatever earshot because you heard sirens coming from everywhere coming up and down the street.

This dude actually finish the story he got scared. He ran off the roof. You know, and of course when Salem police show up on both sides and Street probably 20 cars and dogs and their release all the stuff in there like Mr. Gilmore, calm down. Can you please put the grant Donna McGrath what would really I say all that for a couple reasons.

Number one look at what God did between the guy that was shivering and his men literally mean that was me. I'm not. I'm not the guy that was out there like okay you normally protect my family.

But the other thing that my family you know there they they didn't have a lot of respect for the guy shivering in his bed, but my wife was like she was up. She was proud of her husband.

First out there that shotgun on that house and I was. It was a completely different thing because they they see that the that image of the okay this is this is a time to rise up and this is this is the thing to do so know if if you if you're going out to the warehouse and there's a little snake. I'm just saying God given larger heart about the snake stayed with him to say I mean 12 days can take care the snakes frequently do work for me. It radiated a clip I was listed to listen to an earlier and you we are familiar with, but I could hear God speaking to those me through William Wallace and you.

He's calling us to be warriors in need of any involved story.

I think I shared a little bit earlier but never viewed myself as a warrior and and I knew I remember growing up, I got a letter from the office of Pres. Ronald Reagan.

Because I heard it and I didn't know was a kid.

You know what the political ramifications were, but I knew they were in a take prayer out of school and hereby was talking about it. It was already in process and me but you know I am all for your mind, heart.

If I write to the big man. The SI wrote a letter to you doing why we should shut this down and I got you to the corporate letter, they were glad to hear from the youth of America think, but it in.

In retrospect it was kind of the defeat for me because I did what I thought I was supposed to do and it failed and and so you know the enemy comes after that, stuff but you know what's funny is that I've been reading as Barney was say the Bible chronologically in chronological order and is renewed in judges the other day and you Sampson.

We always hear about them in a mighty warrior but but the key to the whole thing is this is the spirit of the Lord, Bonnie and you in the spirit of the Lord, the Lord is a warrior warrior is his name comes upon you.

There's a time and a place that you rise up and do some Mr. Miyagi also only an EOB that physical be it. You get the man off your roof get whatever it is you know my job as a man is to protect those around me. Wherever that is. And you know that's that's that's something that we write off in church circles is all know you can't be that way. I got news for you. You come to my window in the middle of the night. I'm not going to ask you how you got this position in life that were not going to have more prayer you might want to trust the nose of the things that that you know make us who we are and that's just as much a part of a valiant Christian man as reading your Bible every day created in the image of God and you Lord is wound up now. Your good and I wanted you follow that up real quick. You know what you shared with us this morning.

Feel mind you have. You want me to read. All I got. I was reading. I've tried to read through the sections that are in these national dirtier in the book, followed by God and I've tried to read those in need of something, pops about every every time I do it and so what I rendered this morning after I get to the shenanigans in here. They also is from, followed by goddesses. The recovery of the warrior is absolutely crucial to the recovery of a man. All else rest on this for you will have to fight our brothers for everything you desire and everything you hold dear in this world. Despite what you feel or what you may have been told you have a warrior's heart because you bear the image of God and he will train you to become a great warrior if you letting and you even at 54 I realize that a God is covered. After that warrior heart did he put in me as a boy not to be. You know how dull will be shot in certain places with an error will be just you know that's kinda not in my gameplaying unit but the thing is is that my prayer this week is being God teach me to use the warrior heart you gave me in the spirit that you gave it to me and teach me the low guard hello guard hello, I am withdrawing Denny appreciate your comment about the guy coming through the window because as a little guy early on in life development fears battling spirit. Just try to defend myself against the bigger crowd. That was always one to bully me.

My attitude is similar. It's like if you want to come into my house like that senior so alone to God because your backside belongs to me right now meant just that whole warrior being an ass as a kid. Talk about this a little bit in cowboy Ranger, but think is appropriate to that member time when we moved from Missouri to this apartment complex and all these kids you just on the gathering unite fight through the day off is one big bully God is constantly beating up on these other two brothers and United to call me as much as a little bit bigger but he still got under my skin, will he pick on them.

One day, something rose up within and I was like I'm fighting back and he jumped on my back afflicting you know when you flip some money make it not clear out of pretty much 1 foot on his chest, but pretty much it was done. After that it was really weird still hard to articulate that I just disliked the spirit of God came over me and I knew that I hadn't been living for God and I started almost like you know just saying hello. I said a lot of spiritual things, but I was also mixing in some curse words at the time because I was really, you know, the adrenaline was pumping to me and said it's more that heart that's not been trained in battle but it was still that spirit of the Lord, that you though mother came upon Sampson and it was righteous and I didn't persist in that, but again that was one of those moments where I felt like I was doing a righteous thing and there were other times. My dad always wanted me to stick up and not you know pick on people but defend them. I did that a lot, but when dad moved out of my life. I remember that I got caught up in being one of the picking on because I got I got validation or I got attention from the guys here with me and said, but I remember when I finally get was getting a little bit older, I was in high school football and this guy was just wearing this other kid out like no you do that to him step in stepped up again. Stop that. So God puts those things in us and we all have those stories, I know, but those things make us who we are but it does.

We talked about you live life forward but you understand that backward look back at those things and that was God rising up within me and during those times I am getting thing we got about a minute left the area really yeah definitely the boot camp. It's basically the same content kinda gives you context for the stages as we go through the dry life, but these ideas that pull desires of man paddle beauty adventure there all their come to the boot camp November 17-20 before the end we get the entrenchment timber 30th through October 1 masculine journey.org to get more information.
