This is the Truth Network coming to an infringement in the heart of a letter masculine. Broward time to go to be more transparent, topic sit back and masculine starts here. Apparently, you may have always wondered about this. I I just now since I do post today again was standing on in our first show we got we got to grab our gear and go on a quest apparently you don't grab your gear when you go deeper and then you your gears are you yeah you already equipped since you know there you go – you know, inquiring minds need to know. But today talk about a quest were on the quest to be a cowboy Ranger so Andy Phyllis in what is it what is a cowboy Ranger stage of the masculine journey with the time between basically your teens teens that attended the 20s mid 20s to sit timelier, discovering life year. Not quite to the other stages like we're leveraging your figuring out life you're experiencing adventure in nature. Think Robby pointed out some of that on the last show your your figuring out what it's like to work hard and really that that life can be hard. You just get a perspective on life. That's really I think back about. I get tons of memories from that time you know because you were doing so much you are going through it.

Whether it was playing in sports or fishing or you know catnip with your friends. You know how many times you spend the night need is stayed up all night watching movies and that kind of thing. It was just a time of discovery that didn't happen for heralds. You know what what is you guys do all night because we know they were not movies you know back and I guess you once again fire saw the that he did have movies there just wasn't any sale. We had a wonderful invention called radio programs on there that can still remember parts of I remember being scared out of my britches by a program named inner sanctum in error sanctum. My dad talked about that and hear this screeching door you know like to move in and stuff and the FBI in peace and war that was another one that was a good one. So yeah we had entertainment. It was just different. So we are talking about different. It's a perfect segue when we have Saturday morning movies that I got Ashley Allen, Rocky Lane, red Ryder school kid and poncho probably Gina then relinquished a veil. Now you so anyway speak a different we was afraid you got back get distracted by customer to hide her now. But I can name one, you won't know okay jungle gym. I've heard of jungle gym as I knew him got called when I was young, he was tars and with pants on powwow will well speak.

We my English high school was a swimmer for Jane and she basically said Johnny was insane. I did a lot of crazy stuff and a great friend out for something completely different. Now yeah but moving on you. You've got your cowboy Ranger phase my cowboy Ranger clip comes from may be my favorite movie, except these guys when they hear that love to pick on me in his Princess bride. I don't know why it's perfect for masculine journey.

That's got swordplay, it's got the adventurer it's got rescuing the beauty and making Andy sick and I love it and it has the adventure to live in this adventure that were going to listen to is climbing the cliffs of insanity and Westley is pursuing his Princess, and the bad guys and Vincent and Cindy anyway. Ultimate bad guy cuts the rope that there climbing up while I Westley is still climbing up at the person I want to focus on here though is an ego who is waiting to kill Wesley when he gets to the top because when he cuts the rope. He grabs a rock. So he's tired climbing up and that's where we enter this but the will talk about an ego when we listen to the clip here promise I will give you until you reach that the that's very comforting. I'm afraid you'll just have to wait it with, nothing comes to mind sweat on the sole of my father, Domingo Montoya will reach the top right but you don't by any chance happen to have six fingers on your was begin conversations this way.

My father was 606 and was dedicated to the study, so the next time nothing but studies were pursued in the study is 20 years and I is were proficient at the base money when I suddenly hope you find him someday. Not more than five. Is this a fellow paper. Using these design moves follows with the very exciting three minute swordplay saying, but ultimately Wesley is on his quest, but so was an ego and his is to avenge the death of his father, and he's been looking for them for long time, but he got cut off cowboy face Ranger phase by losing his 12 years old. He challenge this other you will do yet scars on his cheeks. He basically ultimately does get to that goal, but his whole life is that he has not had anything to focus on, which was why didn't CM and the warrior face because of the warrior phase. You're basically fighting for a cause, but in the Ranger phase. It's more a matter of your love warfare because God put us together. That way, and an ego is become very good at it, but he is doesn't know which way to go in this movie he does come around, so how does that speak to your life. My losses really didn't come until probably warrior phase but a big one. During this time.

In fact, I still considered the biggest tragedy in my life as I lost my best friend 14 skill in all of the bill accident and he was my best friend, but he was the kind of guy that a lot of people said that guys would say ghostly was wonderful and that having happened at Wellington he held was was between ninth and 10th grade so I was 14 was about right. 50 and he and my cousin were the closest guys. I was to most of my adventures took place with them.

My cousin and I did far more but losing Steve was really half of my support. And while I had wonderful relations at home or as much, as any teenage boy does losing him, had a big impact on my life and I did become a abuser of alcohol at a very early age, which ultimately was kind of weird because that became my status symbol in high school as I could drink more than most of the other guys but fortunately it wasn't that addiction is when I quit that never missed while I and I've known you long time. I know I was a heavy drinker when I'm not talking about I didn't know you lost your best friend when you were forming was 14 which really you know I remember I lost a friend somewhere around that age and death is really hard to understand. I mean it's really really hard thing for somebody in the cowboy Ranger phase and I can't imagine what it would be like to lose your dad. I mean literally having to be killed for the person to talk about that your friend and you and that was part of the struggle I'm sure when it was denial and I win another good friend Richard told me about it and I yelled that it might save your life. It's not true.

The bed and he was was made on automobile accident. It was wonderful family of six, and only two of them survived the bad and the only girl. All three boys.

Mom died as tragic but that's a another part of the story and I was some I do not know project to ensure that Jim said Danny I'm glad you drag it out of these are the voyages of the starship Danny and his five-year mission for sale three hour tour witness of the clip is from Star Trek next generation and it also has a got a Westley unit Wesley Crozier who is the son of Dr. Crozier who is a doctor old captive courtship and Westley is in the Starfleet Academy and he has to take a psych test and part of this is to face his worst fear and so the clip is is is part of that. But Wesley lost his father in early age and so he didn't have his father to carry them through the stages Robby so and went the clip play ended and we can talk about on the backside psych test you all right I will be crushed.

Your next all right thanks and excellent performance. Mr. crusher was attached is a man could die theoretically yes you have to make a choice and you did.

There's no right or wrong about your greatest fear has been that you couldn't make that decision because my father because Someone made that my father noted the thing that all the worksheet we talked about the things he says about the cowboy Ranger stages that you learned in life is hard and you. Looking back, as I said earlier, you as a joyous time of my life, but is also hard because of also wounding in a loss of different things and the unit. Wesley get some revelation is healing in that sound like to me that he learned something that he knew about his father because father was killed in in a decision just like he had to make, but he understood that more and that he had some I do take it to anyone so prideful and so independent and one of the things God's been coming after me is my independent and independence is a double edge sword that you it's good to be independent in the butt. Sometimes my pride has not allow me to take my questions to weigh things and unpack things properly and one at one of the stories that, was prompted in. This was it out. I remember coming to know Jesus love 11 and we were part of the Southern Baptist Church in your own fire and we were evangelizing and I rode my bicycle past the traumatic golf course to a friends house to I found out he was. We were about 13 and a friend. He was smoking pot and I was going to go save his soul. I rode my bicycle in my bowel over there and went into his house and began to present the gospel to him and he threw me out a said don't ever come back here again and that was bad enough of a heart that he was a good friend and but what really where the enemy done the most damage was. I've heard the whisper.

See you can even do that right and I never took that to my pastor to my dad or to any adult because I was so ashamed that because I just knew what I presented Jesus doing that he would just accept it and everything will be fine and the world does not work that way.

And so I carried that for a long time and NFA were still unpacking some of that but the wounds that you carry from the time because you learned in life is hard and this is in a cakewalk in you. This masculine Journeys not for wimps.

A gallon we have Sam with us and we understand he wants revenge.

Several the comments of David made earlier welcome Sam and David thing. I think I got there I came out to give a greater signal about the ramp time to stand there and hang up and trying out specifically what that was, that that yeah okay David agreement. Anyway, I got did we know that this is phase of the master journey is really important thing that did you have talked for years you actually you know I've struggled with finding you a lot of my wounds avoided day. I'm just after that, you know, when I was starting to drive you think that you know that that same frame it. I think the age range. Remember right from the cowboy Ranger is like early teens up to 21 on that.

I remember being wound with my dad and had a stroke. By the time I was able to drive and I had an old car that you going I could afford and the water pump went out and I did know how to change it and I did know how to do it.

My dad came out and he couldn't articulate how to do it and so we were at a real impact in you and out there very long. The E you know try to say a few things that you had a stroke and he couldn't really talking remember reaching out to a friend of mine that it was a take in open that he would try to come over and I didn't comport at the time bother me. Kind of through that and he tried to talk me through on how to penetrate a water pump and when you don't know what anything you called it, you don't know what looked like that happen, and I remember being so angry there. I really wanted to have. But there was no one there to really show me you know how to have a and so that was the one story that really kind of warming on and during that time and it was hard like that the state redo this. We do a lot of hard work, and growing up I would touch or the yard. I would and I met other people's yard shovel drive stuff in the winter to make money if I wanted to do anything united to make money.

There is no allowance in my house.

My parents probably didn't have the money but they they claim they didn't believe in it, but I think is more, they didn't have the money to get out and during that time I did learn to work in and learn the value of money a little bit so it was a hard stage but at times a good state – really cool thing idea of testing and other testing that Abraham went through the testing that you go through in this cowboy Ranger stage actually go through to us extend my whole life has to do with this idea of letter none which is faith like your your learning to have faith in your father or you know hopefully if you've got some either his father near bench got have faith you have what it takes as well, but interestingly the second letter is a sonic in that letter has to do with this unbelievable force that you really don't have much control over infecting David himself said that he's trembled with fear over that letter sonic and and the idea is you have, to an extent. The thing I pictures a sailboat like you can hook up to the wind.

If you want okay and in certain circumstances this wonderful and beautiful and comfortable when you go down the ocean. It looks wonderful but that's that wind can come on and then organist separate the men from the boys just really quick and and and so is God begins to test that sailor you know he becomes more and more seaworthy and that's what, to me that the cowboy Ranger in O'Shea's is a big part of going through that gym you have some when Sam said that they didn't have money well assume that was the case and he had to work for everything my parents did have money but it was very important. I had chores that I had to do it.

Our house which included mowing our lawn, but I had opportunities at my grandparents house to earn money. Dad would take me office.

Harold and I both had the joy of doing the old-fashioned no motor lawnmowers health access the Rotary on fun I like them. They are candidate and I just heard they still have make them so might have to look around but and when I got married at 18, my father never questioned his love well if you're old enough to get.

You're old enough to support yourself and those sort of things been in love are very important because it does get us through that work is as part of life and life is easy and you make decisions for how to deal with them or you Weinmann complain. I think that you are entitled to anything and everything Sandy Hewitt said that we are going to revisit your your cowboy Ranger phase so and you want to go a little deeper with us ago will want to met Jesus story at quite a few times on the Canton probably on the radio show, but just the fact that this idea that the adventure my dad started me out when he knew he was. You have to leave the state after he had in a moment divorced and he was going out of state. He took me on this adventure. We went to three different places in North Carolina that this area and it really made an impact on me. I did not think about it at the time I jointed time appreciating dad doing that, but he knew that he was. See me for a good while his stay in touch remotely but he he was going to another state and and it really made an impact and in years later as I was allowing God to father me and not the point of this is is that God can go back and fill in those places they would dad left. It was a very excellent one the most important times as much as I need to know is up in the boyhood stage. I was Applebee's I need him there for the guidance of my adolescent years really did in he was gone and my mom, my stepfather, my mom married is a good guy taught me a lot of stuff but he did what it was really good for my heart anyway. Dad took me on those adventures really impressed upon me the love of beauty. I can still remember when we would drive up you know the Parkway. Anytime we got on the parkway he would just get almost giddy to see just enjoy the beauty and so I think I told I've told the wooden memo, I could whip to the separation and I was able to travel some and I went out to Yosemite, and the thing that God gives like dad took me to three places in God gave me these three gifts of just these natural things happen that I guarantee I mean I just know that he gave them to me. Down deep and scum like what you talk about Raleigh were you just going out and take a walk and he shows us that it was just being available to him as a personal God beyond heavenly father (the burial of God right here that was really met me where I was there and it just it had something to do with filling in what I missed in that stage of my life and he became a father to me like just as much to me is my earthly father. I think we all want to go back to Alabama in the late 1940s early 50s now and you know see what it was like for cowboys and rangers that something that sticks out for you. We got about a minute (well growing up in a small town in northwest Alabama was born we had freedom to roam her parents but is losing we didn't have to report back until we're ready been all day but it was it was safe. Unlike we face today So I know you're thinking about your cowboy Ranger phase that you're still yeah and so you need to sign up to really expand that whole idea and come to the entrenchment that's coming up here in a couple weeks start September 30 through the first that's all I'm asking Jenny.org, as well as boot camp coming in November. You can always email us asking Jenny radio.org. This is the Truth Network
