This is the Truth Network masculine journey for our time masculine journey after hours. We're talking about Christmas. They can imagine why talking about Christmas.

Rodney, do you have any. I am clueless about me. It's Christmas, it's Christmas, we have to talk about Christmas across a bit about my presence yeah yeah we could do that and so our presence. Today is going through talking about our favorite movie clips or may not be your favorite movie movie clips are important to us at Christmas and will save a lot of memories and so we want to go ahead and get Harold in here because we get them into the last bastion.

So Harold will you talk little bit about your clip and play it well. My clip is from Christmas vacation, which is a movie that my family has been watching every every year for longer than I care to remember and my family thinks that I have certain characteristics that are similar to Clark Griswold in front back rent will quite often call me Clark. But this saying is where they're going after their Christmas tree and their trudging through snow this over and the date to get the tree.

One of the reasons I love this is because I did something similar back in Columbus, Mississippi. We have snow but we were live outcome in the woods. My boys were young and I gave him the same kind of speech he did about cheap trees and plastic trays, etc. so we trudged way out through the woods and I found it and I cut it down and I had to drag it and came through mud and mud puddles and water and it weighed a ton. I was exhausted.

Had to wash the tree down and when I put it up. It bent over. It was way too tall for our room so I totally identify with this Griswold family Street, they could just not going our yard dress going on living look at it right if you thought since he is both during the season are best enjoyed in the warm embrace of kith and kin three is a symbol of the fear, the Griswold family Christmas Angel all sure that will be a problem. I give you the Griswold family Christmas right full so Harold and your adventure and you should never laugh and I know you heard this a few dozen times by now, but it always tickles my slow Clark is just he always overdoes things and they backfire on it has the best intentions right at me with next best thing for his family absolutely. Well I want to go ahead and you need to can I get up on the microphones because if this is a clip that's not yours you wanted to play it for someone else. So I want to give you the credit for now concern about man's heart from this child right so it's about three week two with two or three weeks ago for we were talking about what is restoration feel like and you know it. If you come from a Christmas movie and we, skipping over last week to do on you know what you want for Christmas but it's perfect. Tina is perfect for the Christmas story. It's it's when Scrooge gets his heart back in kind of figures out what what the priorities in life should be about, so then we realized if we don't play this week, he's going 12 month yeah exactly like the jury came back to show no yeah go ahead and play close to the next phase so you going by deliberate combat in less than five minutes is is is in apparently through Verizon stores Academy awards phenomenal performance it way back but anyway be placed through the really cool thing about that you know we get the idea of the Lord to come from there. Charles Dickens literally if you if you think about somebody who could tell a story that would change the world. That story changes the way we celebrate Christmas. To this day, and certainly had a lot to do with a lot of the movements that took kids out of slave labor. The labor and and all the stuff that Charles Dickens wrote about through the mean Oliver and Oliver twist, and this shows the impact that one man who loves people well and talked about this and this is how restoration felt like an you for many, many, many, especially for me. Now that I wrote a Christmas Corolla, which I completely plagiarized, will Dickens in order to create that which you feudalistic Christian carbureted that you got to hear that you sent it it it really has lines in it that come after anyone's heart that that that was the idea of getting his identity back of who he really wants and you know that's what you need is a story that's been done over and over and over again. You talk about plagiarizing and then do what was in the lead lead role dairy had the Muppets you had a Card whatever his name is when everything is what I don't Card the card is you what Star Trek right you can think of his name wrong Star Trek. I'm sorry.

I will keep it's been done many many times and so does the story the last of the sword and move on to another story of the Christmas story and we talk about stories.

It can change the world right now that you have for me it's not Christmas until you watch the Christmas story and for us in our family, you can't watch the Christmas story except for on Christmas day, because that's when they played it when I was a kid and they played it for 24 hours straight all day long. This clip here is surely her buddy seen the video, but this clip here is one the hounds, the next-door neighbor's dogs come through and sneak past the old man which she was lovingly referred to by Rafe as the snake snuck past the old man in and ravaged the turkey and got got a nice little reaction. We do apologize for the language us on this in the after-hours. I did get demoted today, actually, is that it's all supposed right with the world. The most unthinkable disasters descend upon us still hung heavy in the house school in Turkey which is turkey turkey soup. I get dressed going out go the whole movie they're playing at this this idea of this amazing turkey and then to get through the dogs with one of the greatest things about that was how after that they kinda came together, went out to eat Chinese and kind of picture that becoming the yearly ritual now from from here on forward is no longer about the turkey it's about us coming together as a family somewhere different, and brings a lot of the fields back then when you when you watch the movie and they go to the restaurant.

They all come together right in the middle of all that strife, they think everything is ruined. But what ends up happening is they have a lot of joy to have a lot of fun like having becomes a family tradition like this is Andy we have a clip yours need to set up has to do with that. I have arraigned this hearing, not yours. That's run its surroundings will have you set up that way okay now I have decided that it was his well he has like 20 of them in their things to do that.

I had a couple more so I can say that anything about yeah so for me a lot of the women look this up. Like Bobby said in the original show that my number one was Charlie Brown that I was the last one that clip so I'm like, what else do I have it always comes back for me in my memory in my childhood is all the really cheesy cartoonish ones that were out early. Rudolph the red nose reindeer is one of amino Frosty the Snowman United clip with the heat miser in the cold Mizer with the VA your house and all those it's just that there really is no you look at them today. I can't really cheesy, but I enjoyed him as a kid just love them and every year now they will come on you like clockwork go through that week of Christmas and got a lot small and that's where this one here at also spoke to me express this specifically because it's like man poor Rudolph, I mean we all will talk about how he overcame his father wound but this is a picture of him getting his father wound nobody's morning light have to live in come back from that ex-wife ran off in his childhood and had to come back and everything else is just a big story.

Well, now let me tell you it all started a couple of years before the big snow in the springtime reindeer Donner is shining as big banks like Blankenbaker where is the new member of the family. After all, he's going to be on my team. Someday, better get to know me will I argue this fellow and smart, very short stop is a gross option where let's hope so.

What he wants to make this lady someday to see little fellow. Every year I shine up my jingle bells, Lori. Well, while I remember watching that as a kid. I look forward to it. It was yes most the time and you know I couldn't wait.

Yeah there's so many of those are just on around anymore and that's what I grew up with and it was just something that brings back those memories of childhood like talk about before you just want to relive some moments. Now we talked about you know we have to really try not to put into Christmas things that were in it, you can't have any more big. Look forward to the things that you do have and still he brings that movie up every year during our one of our Christmas events and want another hell always talk that the Truth Network is the land of misfit toys and so what happens to Rudolph based on his father wound that we can also lead to Scott's dad thinks he's got a blanket beacon is he does what we all do because we think we got a Blankenbaker.

We isolate right we don't run around aimed and so he goes off to the land of misfit toys which clearly everybody at the land of misfit toys is got a blanket making a main engine in our own way is really a very beautiful story of Rudolph coming into his true identity. What he thought was his biggest drawback turned out to be his glory literally. Absolutely Robby I think you enjoyed sampling can be lively now as I throw that out there. I brought lives, even for me personally. My father worked for. Brings back great memories for me because he came home with the very first what was a four track tape. It was the free runner to the eight track tape and you know here was the car radio and in there they stuck this tape thing in it and we could listen to a tape in the car. It was like miraculously only tape that was available anywhere was brought lives singing mamas got no beans, no rice, no bubblegum oiler summit was a crazy song ever heard, but the lives and still has a complex heart to say, I think using both Frosty the Snowman and he wants in the dual role. There is very versatile and that's the car today is looks like the snowman and then Wesley no Buddy the elf was formed after that hold that the idea cheesy. I think the people to develop the movie elf wanted to get that look that they had from that an elf was in his own way of misfit still in these guys. I fear it. If you have Netflix and a great series to go watch and special Christmas time is the movies that made us, and there is some movies and didn't really care to watch the episode on that. They had one on elf and have one on home alone and are both very good to go back behind the scenes and realize it at both the shows hardly ever had any chance of getting made and it will. They were made and they were very popular right at home loan is made on such a small budget back in NC the whole story and both of them became huge classics not unlike its wonderful life, which, it turned out enough for Frank Capa. The movie flopped at the box office, but now it's considered the best movie of all time.

So what you think it may have been in this day was a great big hit. Nobody came out to see yeah it actually had college class on that movie yeah it we did several movies we spent about three weeks on it's a wonderful life going through that unity dive in and is a movie appreciation class and learned about Frank Capra and I the stuff that he done and you're exactly right. It was it was that it was a flop considered, not a success and it's time that over the years.

It's really kind of came on and surprisingly didn't have a clip from we could get back to my homework movie Wayne later setting her and play clip and then maybe you can get one of Ronnie's other ones and potentially the it's from the movie love actually and I said I want to play another scene from because we talked about in the other show that it's it's about love in this particular thing. You have a stepfather who has custody of his stepson because his wife and in the boys mom died just recently within a few weeks of this and so the young boy struggling a lot stepfather sitting with him on park bench trying to figure out what's going on with anything since your just depression over losing his mom that type of thing that can see where the story goes in the fast forward to a another segment of him and the boy talking in their home care, keep asking the tissue box to get something else is in this case he's sleep use going back to use Kate Leo we need them not okay so I get it.

What I like about this movie and the father does really well is he. He loves his son through this right you were he almost blows that you hear that at that part where he says, aren't you too young for this little eight-year-old nine euro boys.

I don't know, not all and he Ricky captures himself, and he enters in. And I really liked about the second part of that clip was talking about the movie Titanic patently knows we need to go watch it. Obviously the son likes the movie. I'm assuming you by washing with his mom. Whatever that the dad knows that he knows that's what the kids heart needs right and I think that's where it's kinda cool to you to see if father just loving his son well through a very difficult time through very timely shows exposed no falling for his first girl that he's in love and so it's again it's it's a movie like quite a bit, but it's that was a scene from that it teaches you that in just listening and being a part of somebody's life can be enough. It doesn't have to be more than a dozen of the big present sitting on talking to him. Listen to him helping them work through some things tobacco implacably row your right now it's didn't so Rodney we have to play your other clip because you teed it up. Talked about the year that saying and it's Robby's favorite clip so when you get it in the APPC was set everything were not going to get it when I get it now.

Michael will get it when he wants to hear the songs and I was way too much in love like is really going to check off Sam and I will say that I hate this, but sales into it now is one over there doing oh my God he's creepy. They were just creepy but ranking and bass I think made all those particular type of shows.

Back then it was the production company I dismembered popping up and showing it, but we're going to do a survey.

So if you get a masculine journey on Facebook.

It's just like the green thing its particulars, scooping scooping Scooby newbies. Lucy still time for short is clip you. I'd love to post a picture we got this week that I don't know that he could better friend anywhere in a Frosty the Snowman you see that you and you even said is it your birthday and I didn't and he did and he was overthinking that way too hard to be an appropriate picture to post this frosty like use up to some scrupulous yeah I that we believe may not believe in standing.
