So how do we keep from losing hard trying to find a way life feels more like a losing battle and something worth dying for, grab your gear and come on a quest band of brothers will serve as the guides we call masculine journey masculine journey starts here now. Welcome masculine courier what's happening in about three weeks. Boot camp boot camp. Yes you do you think we have a listener out there is not heard that there is a boot camp they need and the vanity with us today. He'll explain that to him and Andy at masculine journey that already is. Can PVV like 26 times and so it's time Bambi up yes and it's time to it's time to register income this make the commitment you know you know that you want to have this break right before Thanksgiving anything Thanksgiving is a breaking even tell you it's the break before the break is what you need because Thanksgiving can go one of two ways. A lot of times it can be really great with family really not great with family understand homes in the calm before the storm right exactly it'll prepare your heart for what you're gonna have happened next week. Good or bad it's going to prepare. Anyway, that's not the topic for today but I'm sure we'll talk more about boot camp and eight Andy Danny, you have the topic for today. Yeah title is always a nail in the sure place to come from Isaiah 2223, campuses 22, 23 whatever takes yet.

I will fasten him as a nail in the sure place and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house and I heard that topic by a pastor friend of mine several years ago and it just has resonated in the last little while as being a nail in the sure place that not all. Sometimes we find ourselves in places we really don't want to be, but it may very well have been designed by God that we be there for whatever purpose.

That is because life is not always skipping gloriously toward glory is just their tough seasons and finding yourself in a secure place, which ultimately we know to be if I'm in Christ I'm in a secure place no matter what my circumstances are born around yeah I think this is a is a country is a world secure place has really soon to be there. No release last couple years writing is all because of everything that's been going on and just lots of other different things and I didn't even consider that there is a sure place is really pretty cool that there's a place in regardless of what's going on around us and we can be in a sure place yeah just got a question. The thing was unity ever consider that wherever you find yourself right now. God placed you there and you so often question you know where I was in life are quite recently just thinking about I become, the new go to God and my family including my father calls taken over helping him with his financial stuff. And because he just this is not a thing that he looks to me to be his nail literature place that to find the answers to to navigate where we need to go in as a place to be honest I really don't want to be. Most days I think the football season. When you follow college or priority don't even watch about stuff about Susan, but you have the yeah the guy the scores a touchdown in your points to heaven and all that he's really glad of the play season.

Write the tickets he received when he drops a pass in the end zone. Is he still pointing to heaven and say no.

It's okay that I didn't do it right at me.

I think there's we asked the question we consider you know that God put us there. I think of its positive and a lot of times yeah were pretty easily acceptable. What if it's not a real positive place right. What if it's not the place that I really wanted to be.

You could be the guy who was guarding the guy just made it to be more not garden to get any. We have a clip that we want to place a few good household about this clip it's really short clip I had is much shorter ones. So yes, get outsourcing show tonight. Think but this is from Rudy. You know there's couple clips reading this really spoke to me. If you haven't seen it, but I kid that went to Notre Dame on a will as a walk on and you have a lot of aspirations of just playing Notre Dame football and there's a lot of and I know I can't remember exactly on this instance. What he's needed direction from from the priest buddy praying a lot. Maybe it was a situation football to know if you remember but anyway he's just he's looking for answers from God and he's in a place you can tell where he's beginning to question okay am I doing the right thing. I praying enough or whatever world that's way a lot of us get for not getting the you know the results that we expect we begin to question either us or God or somebody else that may have gotten in the way or whatever, but this kind of dialogue is was talking to a priest right is not the problem.

Praying this time the answers come in constant done everything you possibly can you help me sign in 35 years of religious studies I've come up with only two incontrovertible facts, there is a God, sorry I mean it really gets into the whole point of you know, there's a God thing up dialogue prayer and we always were wheel a lot of times expect when we pray we should get results. Particularly for God's will, and if were not getting the results we expect were not in God's will or something is broken. There am I praying enough you know usually that's where we go to. There's something that's in me that's not inherently good enough to get God's attention to getting what give me what I want is a good desiring what he wants to do when you see that in the movie but there's timing on things is growth of maturity. There's a multitude of things that keep us nailed at that place or at work is right in the center will God's will, but maybe where were at the we just sure don't feel that way too. Looking back over Scripture. How often would you say that people have really enjoyed the place and they were nailed to at that moment and honestly yeah how many do you think really maybe David some of the time. Some of the time.

Right now I'm beat. When he got to his place of promise Castle if you will, the present King tried to killings. I don't know what he was too sure about that place or not.

Yeah you know you look you look up and down the whole thing.

You know want to get thrown in the pit from his brothers and Joseph. It is a long time to receive his history was a lot of being nailed in places, yeah, absolutely.

He's a good wind always go back to particular something carries over time, but I think it was 13 years or whatever in prison in yeah John the apostle Paul wrote most of what we read in prison right is not the ideal. I guess I was the original prison ministry on shipwrecked bentonite snake and all this and then there was the guy that was actually mailed yeah okay yeah I hate having Mike McDermott to send that was bodies not easy. So what you think when we find yourself in those places in life. They were not real happy to be you know what is some of the responses that people tend to fall back on. Well, I know you're talking about, you know what, what's the response I think he can run the gamut, because everybody's little bit different, but I know I just now talking about weight and easy place. Our place. But honestly, for me, I think it's a lot easier to find God in our place, things are going really well. His weight nose will be the first one to do that when things are going good I can rely on myself. I can forget God leave them behind and things are just nice rosy cruise and that when problems happen. That's what it's like oh God, I need you and EJ need you as you like Peter like were talking earlier jumps out of oh yeah I forgot not help me know.

Nice little sleep, short prayer right to the point I need you. That is the stuff that really pulls me into a crisis limits a typically its relationships now sums going on somebody is doing something. It was the kid doing this time I what's my wife got to say what were my out with mom and dad are what's going on it's there's always something relationship wise insist you got you thinking you got you worried so it's mostly sports like stop and be able to say okay Lord okay. I've been in this now for a while I don't. I don't know what to do on why did start to praise before I get into at least more often than not.

Now all it in the middle something I start to realize I am in middle of this promise at least a quick little help me prayer and I think at least, lease, reach out to the mic. I didn't bring you into this, I need you right now. So for me it that's when things you say from the old response of anger of frustration of and using what would happen for me is first I just pull back.

Yeah I'm angry but I'm a pullback I got this under control and income. Now, after a bit of time this things been festering, but it's a week or month or whatever we may talk about this or it's a lifetime you spending so much time you spend 23 years of spouse, you know each other so well and you just at that point where it's so easy to go. I know what's coming and when it does boom explode it out and I'm like I'm so much better off being able to say no I see things are coming did start to pray thank God for God because it wasn't for him, as would have the strength do a lot of these things agreed. You must be a lot better Christian.

I still get angry. First it. I still get frustrated.

I you want to pout a little bit you know if I'm in a situation I don't want to be in. You know little bit of the why me kinda comes out. It just takes me a while to get to that place where I can say okay God you I don't like it but I'm here so please help me learn from how we learn what you need me to learn help me to grow in the midst of it. I can't say there's times I still like it. I don't think that there sometimes you don't ever get to the place where you like it right. Maybe liking. It's not the point. Obedience is a point in walking with him through the midst of it is a point that the United I found find myself in a anger side, you know, because I love it is. Honestly, it's trying to walk independently of God.

Sometimes I get my own plan together in one month end of the work.

I get mad right anyway about this we come back and find out how to be in that sure place and know that who's got us nailed their masculine journey.org to register for giftgiving boot camp November 18 to the 21st we will see you there. Please register now.

What if one weekend wasn't yellow and frustrated all basic training designed to give men permission be how God made based on John averages wild at heart.

Experience four days purpose for God to come after and perhaps reawaken dreams and desires uniquely placed to hear masculine heart Coming up November 18 21st today. This is my son Eli talked about ways he held his smiled at him and smiled at him as is information on website there on how to Facebook.com and click the donate button you can get a masculine journey.org and find the masculine journey.org PO Box 550 92728 was your grumbly toes little bit about this from a local artist to reduce Southeast to hear Jonathan helps her souls. People wait, no, like razor hallelujah little rough top my head, but local guy you should go to church with his dad and the soul.

Ms. is about, see and I am in knowing who you are an Escada in a roundabout way will were talking about is the larger story we talk about the knowing who you are. Your identity SR. Sure place that no matter what's going on in my life as you said earlier. Once I get past my wanted my anger and my I'm not doing this to find out who I am and find out whose I am which is more important thing point the way we haven't had a chance to really view a nonanswer about that night. See you blinking here on the lines we know you're here once a tousled about your thoughts on some of the topic, I'm actually working through Scripture and I'm reminded where Peter talks about the reality you brought it to be brought Robin to go through trials, time and is much as we don't like to think about. Therefore, good God database showed that the skirt Peter. Peter one could be truly glad there is wonderful joy even though you must endure many trials for little crawl to show that your faith, being tested by fire.

Your goal your faith are more precious. Even in my homeland. Think their most definitely not comfortable using. And you're right I will get anger dear panic my but ultimately it do we believe God love. Do we truly believe he loved us that he wants the best for you.

Whatever were going to let me in my life. I learned really a lot. And then she is been able to minister to so many other women because she went through that machine, she is one of the few people who understand what God does that a lot with right he takes our misery and current something where we get to level other things going rub you tousled about your club absolutely soundness cool opportunity to watch, listen to, in this case to really great box or something that certainly she came up the 60s and 70s. You know the name Mohammed Ali and you know George Foreman and you may know that George Foreman was the heavyweight champion of the world and he took in a challenge from Mohammed Ali and all the world thought that Mohammed Ali didn't have a single chance in the world. And so here George Foreman is gonna share some wisdom how this event of what would be tested gigantic loss literally was the best thing that ever happened to his innocent life as it turned out to be a great weight loss program for George Foreman but will talk about what weight it was, he lost and how he lost it after we here in a little bit from Mohammed Ali on his idea of weight loss. Ali was spectacular for me to change my life because I never lost as a professional guide intended to win the easiest fight of my career, get into the ring with the guy left in my done everything beat them up.

Basically for about five or six rounds. I thought it was easy about the six rounds he whispered in my ear that he diminish that all you got, George. That was about all. I understand that losing something about that. So he prepared himself he reserved this power instead. I had nothing in back of my mind to shield me or protect me until I well left boxing in the 70s I became a minister at the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm still doing so, and I realized that report asked me what happened in Africa.

Joyce surely something happened and I admitted that I've lost a boxing match. I said I got proof from that point on, I was able to cope because I realize not only that lose the boxing match that loves the greatest man I've ever met somebody would never give up Which is God came back sometime people come to me and what you think will leave the greatest boxer feel almost insulted because boxing was just something he did to me that's no way to define what I'm about leak when the greatest men to have a P on the scene of the so break down the wisdom of that clip which there's endpoints. At least that is just fine absently for mom only two men outline for split the first thing was that clearly Mohammed Ali throughout what we call an agreement. In other words, this allies at all you got, George. What was all that George had but George bought it went into the agreement in Ali used essentially something to get his opponent to bite down on this lie, which obviously caused the loss of the fight, to some extent a course I don't know how much George actually extended but nonetheless the wisdom of Ali to do that and then obviously George Foreman's understanding of that. And then there was the wisdom of Ali holding back all his power and strength and the fact that he lost and he knew that there was a longer battle here than just for five rounds and how many battles in our life. Are we really prepared to fight for as long as it takes and and so there's all kinds of wisdom in that secure place to mail it is talk about their and then there is George Foreman's humility to see that. Oh, here is my real problem is when he said I lost the greatest man I ever knew. They never gave up on anything it. In other words this case, God was using the claw hammer to rip the mail out. If you ever had that claw hammer on you.

You know what I'm talking about that sometimes you know your ripped out of this place because he has a secure place, which obviously was I thought really cool that Mohammed Ali picked it up that this so much more to this George in a boxing match and how much more how much more value is it took for George Foreman this great communicator to be able to share something of great value that he does this creature and there is that. But then don't miss the end wisdom which is to me the best part whole clip was don't who he is he saying you can't define Mohammed Ali by being a boxer.

Or how about you, are you defined as as as a computer programmer. Are you defined as a radio talkshow host, or you can argue defined as whatever I I really hope someday somebody says that about me which really just speaks volumes about George Foreman. This is that man was not boxer. The boxing was what he did right wisdom in that statement of the way he delivers it is beautiful, but then again there's gets to the idea of where Danny was going which the word male in Hebrew has this taws meeting at the end of the story. We will know right what the truth is the truth is going to come out and the truth was always secure and it was always in a sure place and yes you being in that place where that may be for that time may be for the long haul but but you need that wisdom to set yourself up for. I need to stay in this as long as God has it for me because it's it's it's where it's it's eventually head of the course like everybody in this room, you know, I've had the hammer come down on me a few times yeah you is thinking about George Foreman you had two careers in boxing and many had the one where he was champion and then we try to make a comeback memory kind of acting off every night.

I kinda wonder in the timeline of the conversation about the it sounded more like is when he was doing his come back a little bit from the standpoint of you get up there and now you can reach a lot of people forgot write you from this platform from a different perspective. You have an opportunity to do things and he really did that pretty well during his come back.

He was very quick to thank God, is very quick to point back to God and he did have a lot of successes come back and he was in his 40s at the time I think was needed is, chicken had the can hear that on the radio's essay that is for you there a lot of you shaking your head that you said if they can hear it or something more wrong and went to talk so from here. The sure place when we talk about here you runny reaching for the whistle. Since Harold won't speak now he was nodding his head yeah so you know when Danny came up. This is like the first thought was Jesus nailed to the cross. But then I started thinking what did he do to help others out. You know because he'd been leaving all the disciples up to that point he stood revealing more and more and more in any actually gets nailed to the cross and he dies in her dislike. I don't believe that this just happened there. You know, yeah, they were. They felt really awful and they did know what to think when they eat Over and over and over.
