This is Mike Swick on podcast show stories of hopelessness turn in the home shows an Truth Network podcast is starting to just enjoy Sharon but most of all, thank you for listening shoes and the truth podcast. This is good Truth Network but the masculine journey is filled with many twists and turns. How do we keep from losing heart trying to find my feels more like a losing battle and something worth dying for, grab your gear, request your band of brothers will serve as the guides we call masculine journey masculine journey starts here now welcome the masculine journey we're very excited to have you with us this week and this is one of our favorite weeks of the year. You know Robby, I know you're not expecting me to ask a question like I do every every week, but that this is one of the more exciting shows a lease for me is not for you. It's 13 Christmas Eve so I can say a baby yeah I was turned my head and I couldn't quite do it. It's the 12th and so yeah you can say EBV BBB BBB 13 times you got. So that's a sure bet it's very across last week. You guys didn't give me five beeps for my birthday which was the 10th that's really sad ass save it yes so I was listening to last year's show, so I was the whole easy EBV things got nice. Remember your joke from last year about too many evenings at all that would be eavesdropping upon Penrod.

That's around 7 o'clock I wanted to please drop me That's good I like that this particular show topic is kind of freefalling it's it's actually we threw it out last week and it's a Christmas clip from your favorite Christmas show or a show that really spoke to you or no real rules to it. Just what Christmas clip you feel like using this year and why that America yes overweight we have you up first. Robby will tousled about your club ass really really fun. God gives us the lights of our heart. At times, and I had a dream for many years to write a screenplay and so was it was God provided a way for me to create Christian card I theater which God then provided all these amazing actors and so a number of years ago. I just love the book a Christmas Carol and insert my love all of renditions of the movie and so I decided to do a Christian card I theater episode the whole hour Christmas special called a Christmas Corolla at which two different scrimmages one inside the car, the crankshaft and in the other one in a being another character, but I cast my dear friend Vinnie Menino who is in this clip as Guido gasket and he was playing the ghost of Christmas future. Only he was driving it was a car from back if you DeLorean right so what you gonna here as Guido gasket and what was really neat. As I was kind of just totally. Finally, trying to walk in this message the mask on journey and understand the new name and and how that is your identity and I understood some things about your identity. That really is a present as well as actually good the salvation that comes with Jesus. So you listen to this clip when you hear the guys start talking about how I'm protectorate what they've done is they've heard their name and their deciding to open up the present of their identity. But before they do that they get a little shock from our old friend Vinnie. The bat which you know he was completely typecast labs should set this up even better because he was blind and so I couldn't give them a script to read, so I actually sat with them and we would say one or two words three words but you can hear this from his heart. You would think he said all the stuff because he was such a great actor he really was and that he lay this stuff out like he was still Vinnie the bat. So here you go Guido gasket and a Christmas Corolla on one year. What happens is that I have to get my back is said we live in. That's it. One more stuff.

You do not show you guess that I am in time is almost full. You show is that this one question.

Are these the things that will be all the things that might open our present arrived US so I'm going to give it to you straight. God knows no summer only good comes from branches that are connected to that same good so I is Jesus God's so use that open up that precedent, Jesus sacrificed on the cross for your sins, you will be planted. It's your choice. You can either be through vitalizing fruit of lies. Your choice and we get a good look at your headstone) reads the use.

This is now in his casket have pay attention. The next one says here lies crankshaft Kramer's attraction to learns could not be planning your choice will want to be the driver made me to a man I was. It's hard to listen to, you know, dismissing Vinnie so much at such a great thing but it only Vinnie could pull a car off and make it still scary.

I was listening to be scared that he had that authority to his wife, and the beauty of that clip as he was still pretty much at his complete voice. It wasn't like he was the last couple years of his life and so you know it's a delightful thing for me to be able to share life with some really really amazing people and and you know I can assist analytic creepy Sam, actually, but I was thinking about it like Vinnie now because if you didn't know Vinnie went to be the Lord.

I guess around March, but he now knows that he knows all that stuff like that he was predicting in this particular clip in a way that that denied I'd love to have seen that reunion may will get the same instant replay of Jesus and Vinnie. He spent so much time with that he did spend a lot of time in prayer with want to go totally different angle on the clip and I want to go to Harold and get Gerald's clip in. And so Harold tells a little bit about your clip in them will play an income. I can tell us why you chose well. The clip is from Christmas vacation, and partners all his spent quite a bit of time looking up 25,000 little tiny twinkling Italian lights over the house and he so excited to show it to the family and saying that you're playing is where he has them all come out and it is a drumroll in the turns the switch and nothing happens and he has what some people used to refer to as a Harold and what you hear is him tearing up the loan ornaments with in his anger over the lights not working. I have as soon as you hear he's kicking the reindeer in the little slid in the snow man just totally destroying it.

And the reason I like it so much is because it's so much the way I used to be when things would frustrate me. I wanted to break stuff and so that's why it appeals to me so much is because I can look at it in and see how people used to say me, yet I would call that just about every project. I tried to do for a period of time, unfortunately, have grown in that area.

It's not quite as bad know, but it was almost gets the point where I would break more than I would put together it, which made it kind of sad as the one out there seem like is kicking me the Santa Claus ornament and stuff around the house, but that yeah this is those things you look back you just thank God for all the work that is done without kicking the lawnmower would make it current. Yeah yeah are you know you hit the wall or other things that you think is going to make something right and I hate to admit I think Chardonnay or before but I learned how to do drywall repair temper. You probably led me to a career in subtyping. Yeah, that the way to really get into the crater doing it that way. Now we don't have time for another clip. So let's talk a little bit about the yeah Harold's clip for Robby's Calypso Rodney want you to speak a little bit about those two clips work from those really can expect to well the anger thing. I think it's also yeah I had holes, but weakness not to hunt go as holes in the walls and stuffing episodes, but for me just I didn't really get to know Vinnie deeply leading at the meeting a couple times and I live through the stories of you guys with Vinnie and I heard Christmas Corolla and just loved it and says is like to get to me because I heard Christmas: I didn't know Vinnie that I get to meet the real live Vinnie. After you guys is all talked about who Vinnie is and is like he's exactly as he sounds on the Christmas Corolla is exactly as you guys describe in as I is really this Vinnie guy is really this ask my guy the bat and all the stuff and is just awesome Jesus and awesome do any just want to be around so having that online weblog. I just so glad when I saw it click come up that probably don't play that one because I know I think you've done some other stuff with many different times like that Christmas things. I just I just think that nostalgia of one of the brothers in the band is awesome and not know it.

Even a guy like me who doesn't know them very well just misses him so much, if any, was one of the few guys you could say probably looked exactly like he sounded like you now know all you think that he kinda looked like they had a get that that's what I expect. Yeah, yeah, millions, kind of scary area you did you know you could really whip it out if you need a heart of gold and his four head and saw God change his heart real quick. I learned one time hitting the wall, missing us to 2 inches.

That's a bad thing. That's right.

And masking journey.org to look at upcoming events sales feels like everything is fine. You might want to come listen to the masking journey and find out why we use clips like the to illustrate the story, God is telling in the lives of his gun designed which fights to we pay will grab your gear and come in every Saturday night is assumed masking journey and my son Eli talked about ways he smiled at him and smiled at him as his informational website there on how to do that to Facebook.com and click the donate button get a masculine journey.org and find masculine journey.org mail PO Box 552 728. I mean, obviously were not sobering Santa Claus. But it's just one of those you just listen to that and that's a tribute to yours, Harold. That's from Christmas vacation. That's one of the songs it comes from. So we went to you something from it for the bump in another really funny part of that is when he tries to turn on the lights in his father-in-law's standard says little Lexmark twinkling clerk just very sarcastic like okay I didn't realize that until you told me but thank you guys so my thanks notice and add area. There is so many funny things in that movie is just as great.

Yeah I vision something seems really talking, a cousin at ease. Like takeout noon pointedly good for debtors that is always little while biters it make me laugh throughout the movie. I watched it yet this Christmas season. It's one of the ones I tend to like to watch with my sons right we will watch at some point I'm sure. Maybe we get a chance to see my daughter will watch it with her is what we talked about last time that that moon. I did Jim you have a clip from a classic movie is the Christmas story and I think it is my favorite because it's probably the only one way make sure we see every year and it really that I'm a little bit younger than that crowd back there so much that I remember from my childhood. I never actually tried the one I got the clip for but this is funny saying in a lot of the language is similar to what I experienced as a kid you and set up more than that, no idea what's going on. Well, that bell.net if you haven't seen the movie, then you don't deserve to know what's going on.

It is kids during recess at the flagpole favored the river that if you like cold flagpole.

Your tongue will stick to it and the challenges now. It's sort of a guy thing that we have to put up with most of the rest of it's pretty obvious the exact exchange and Nuance phrase in this ritual is very important. No serious care. What else was left with a triple dairy and finally the coup de grace of all tears sinister triple Schwartz created a slight breach of etiquette by skipping their spines. His lips curled back like with who he was. Was it about the clip.

Well, I actually got to quadruple their wants and nobody knew what that meant, so that back a powerful memory but it's was pretty much standard playing with the kids in the neighborhood.

You don't dare each other be stupid. So what was he doing just leave it there.

What was to quadruple their job will actually remember I'm pretty sure it had to do something something to do with a tree and I do want to bring up that because I know that's a painful subject for you. That clip I never found funny, honestly because I was the youngest brother of two older brothers nine and 10 years older and back at the time I was growing up there were no icemakers you know in refrigerators and with a little ice cube trays and they were made of plastic that may not know. Yeah, right, and my brother Mark email being who he is ease that was an instigator. Go figure. More than me and he's like a it's a really cool thing if you stick your tongue on this.

You know I'm leaving at the time I was probably about 78 like really yeah I did.

I stuck my tongue on it and you know like in order to help. What's he did. He grabs it, he rips.

Oh my gosh you think it hurts when you burn your time later the ice cube. You could literally see another side of the ice cube tray so I would watch that movie like that's not that funny really care will be even more fun. I have water does the trick.

Yeah, that would've been now is about seven 1970 or so, about that time and so yeah it was wow yeah they did give me chance of water on it and we love big brother tell you it was you tell mom on the phone. You know I was the big brother. My brother and I got to fight through into the wall again breaking through Dragon. Actually, this is the plaster now is laugh. If I had removed the dresser over in front of it stay there got away with it for about 12 years to sell the house and there's a big hole here regularly go ahead and put your coat when you talk a bit about it and set it up. Okay it's home alone and I didn't end up going with my favorite clip from Christmas and he is thrown out last week about this topic and being, how hollow a Christmas clip relates to the masculine journey and then Sam zero home alone really to masculine journey and I decide to finance next day. I'm sitting there thinking won't.

When Kevin is at home and he realizes that he has to defend his turf. He sets up BL the whole house with all the gadgets and everything to go help with the hair on fire and put the ice on the steps in all its kinds of things and the nails on the stairs and he sets up his house.

He just have a casual dinner of macaroni and cheese sit near and then it's like oh it's time for the robbers to show up. He knew what time her shop and he runs that back door and he just kinda gets there with his BB gun is like, don't be scared now and I'm thinking of all the things we had going on this year to be scared of there be scared of every freaking things going on and there's even more coming out these days that you know ever summer to be scared of and we just had chaos can't with Alan Arnold and Mike all the stuff just kind of want to get a list clip is just kinda perfect for chaos and then of course then you have my word of the year. His father, you have at the end of this whole thing these guys neighbor who is completely scared of coming to his rescue saves him when he does everything he can to fight these two bandits and it's like all – he's about to be had in the God. Figure kinda comes in and sees him again so it will find out he has what it takes.

Yes, it scanned now we know and show all because Jill nice presents for you and how that will tell you that movie that you know it was so good they had to try to keep repeating it over and over and over. Try to get as they magic they did the first one.

It is never quite could do it but it is rings at such great memories. I mean, when you movie from your childhood that you consider" and just keep talking about everybody around you can quote it just fine thing in that movie.

It's sad, but it's also kind of funny. The original when originated part of it. Joe Pesci's character was not supposed to really going to those tirades, but he done so many of the gangster movies and things in the past didn't really know how to act without cussing and so they included it is because he gave relief on how he could get out express himself in and do it in a PG manner in jail was never really are implant you pick for King and let you know that that is a great movie of just the whole neighbor coming to the rescue ethical scenes matters. You he even meets the neighbor and becomes friends with him in the church right now all that's that is one of the favorite scenes for when you start think about this movie will play something Christmas time. That's kind of weekend ago but it was just the whole chaos can't the week before were talk about all the things on that show that you know try not let chaos to control your life and Kevin was not them have chaos in his life he had complete control is going to the story was buying food you don't want to be doing. He was acting very adult fish. You know when he was alone and he just kind of took control. I just love the way that in that movie, eat it, just he just turns everything upside down and's believable that he could actually pull all this off as a child and it was just as just such a fun movie to sit there and dream about boy when Yolanda done that yourself actually watch this movie about a week ago and I watched it. I can't watch it without watching all the things in oh my gosh that would hurt so bad Joe Pesci the top of his head vertically now and then is Marv Stetson on the broken Christmas ornaments like oh my gosh, there's no way after he stepped on the nail in the tire and all those things exactly so much more to talk about coming up in the after hours of if you listen to some radio broadcasting go to masculine journey.org and download the after-hours podcast that goes along with this, you can go to spot if I Pandora any of the places you can get a podcast for their please go to masculine journey.org citizen email list.
