It is a Thursday drive with the Carolina Panthers or back to work at training camp after a day off in the National Football League. Year three is usually a very important year to get caught up in a ton of clichés like where the dust meets the road where the men separate from the boys and stuff like that but generally it's where you see young players blossom in the superstars or revealed there just ordinary guys DJ Moore he's heading in the year three, and I think were going to figure out if he's a superstar in 2020. Is he going to be Steve Smith or somebody you go oh yeah I remember that guy at a sports trivia night. 10 years from now.

I think Steve's mess a good comparison to I remember on draft night, a very reliable source made that comparison. His name Steve Smith Senior saying that you really want to know that they have never been able to replace until the DJ Moore while organization for a long time and I look forward to talking about on the network. It doesn't seem to be that much growth that's what the Carolina hurricanes growth has been like the last two years the hurricane. They've come so far so quickly. Carolina is coming off their ninth straight season of not making the playoffs in a very public disastrous fashion.

Their parting ways with their general manager who happens to be a players had their numbers retired in Raleigh.

Ron Francis he's replaced extensively by Don Waddell will best thing on his resume is that the he was the general manager of the Atlanta thrashers when they moved out of the South to the Winnipeg Jets. Carolina is relevant, the hurricane, they are more relevant right now. Then they been at any other point in their history and I say that including the time they want to Stanley Cup in 2006, a year after the lockout.

So it wasn't a great time for hockey when Carolina one now they may have the bunch of jerks. They have great social media present. They have the storm surge. If you lose all three easily replaceable and you might not lose all three the biggest losses Justin Williams, in all likelihood probably played as last NHL game yesterday. They played without him for the first three quarters of the season so they're going to be fine. The core is where it needs to be. What do you think is the biggest difference in the practices you've seen so far with coach rule versus what you saw during Ron Rivera's entire tenure. You know the funny thing is, your talking talking their invention and the college feel the other guy was thinking about like Pete Carroll. I know his practices were all up be a lot of music and I think he would sometimes I don't think you would necessarily tackling the blocking dummies but he would jump into a drill occasionally is my recollection, you know it southern calendar and got good you know would do that kind of stuff. Seattle so yeah I think I think that there is definitely part of that would Matt rule you know that the interesting thing to me is it is is already NFL players are the Carolina Panthers players going to respond to that.

Are they going to think it's like our hokey and I think the answer lies with you know, kind of how the rest of the messages coming across and more to the point where the Panthers are getting better now. I guess Matt rule has little experience on the job little experience as an NFL coach, like you got any as a bunch of assistants who don't have as much experience in the NFL.
