Welcome to the Christian card radio show showed dedicated to helping Christians buy and sell cars by the book. The book now the orange book, but by God's book, the Bible called the Christie car guy with your questions. 186-6421. You have entered a world where the North rules of space and time no longer apply. While most of the country sleeps the memory of the one hour is a rate from the entire population. What transpired during this hour.

What conspiracy could possibly have caused such a widespread this why am I reading the same script from last week feel familiar, like déjà vu, well, are you sure I didn't read this last week telling I'm pretty sure I did.

But here's what happened. We have to have to come clean. Yes, we wanted to make you aware that his daylight tomorrow at 2 AM you will lose this hour, it'll be gone forever. It it it kind of what is given to you as a gift.

Bill and of course the people that hated the worst of the nurses that have to work that extra hour in their questioning whether not they get paid for it because it just disappeared off the timeclock. I mean exactly how does that work. I don't know what is happening at two and late but I do have to come clean is quite a story.

Last week we read this exact same script because an I said, well, they're changing the way they do daylight savings time is what I said on the air and they are changing their stretching it out to try to make our days. You know all more productive. You used to always fall the week before Halloween this year. It didn't. And so I use that coincidentally very quickly because my wife and told me that I have to come clean this week. Last Friday were on our way to an event. My wife says you need to get on the radio tomorrow and tell him that daylight savings time is coming and I just assume she was right and she had plastered all over Facebook that that's what happens as soon as I come into the station like I get a real early to prepare for the show at five in the morning and I going to my computer and I Google wins daylight savings time to make absolutely certain and it says 1029. Whatever last Sunday. What the first Google I took at my just went with what that was, and I prepared the whole show put together this script. This wonderful times at the twilight zone thing Johnny had written the script for me and were sitting here and Bob from a 90 bullet is here. Robbie is not tonight.

So literally 30 seconds before the show is on. We Google it again. We realize that in Europe it is daylight savings time is coming off.

But in America and so everything very quickly.

I was like in the twilight zone and that interestingly, when when Johnny posted the podcast. He had the soundbites at first been gone now, of what our conversation was that few seconds that we are in the twilight zone trying to figure out what's going on so we sell that essay. Wow, I should come clean last week and said you know it's not really daylight savings that's coming next week will is tomorrow and that's what's going on and we just as we sometimes feel like were in the twilight zone when we come to this daylight savings thing but today show.

Yes, it is a car show and working to be talking about is your vehicle ready for winter and we got Bill Mixon or Christian insurance. God help us along those lines.

Good morning good morning what you got force that I thought would talk about some winter insurance tips and some winter car tips since it's snowing 1 November in the mountains of North Carolina, I will want to get some bumper stickers that say I support global warming and did it is snowing in the mountains right now. 10 interesting and I'm not used to seeing that kind of thing and we don't get stuck like those folks in Atlanta last year and so we got all that but also want to today tell you the story about the brick now the author to the story is unknown, but it's a phenomenal stories young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street.

He was going to be to fasten the Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slow down when he thought he saw some as his car passed no children appeared instead of brick smashed into the side of the Jaguar store. He slammed on the brakes and he backed the Jag back to the spot where the parent raising the brick throne and angry young man got out of his car, grabbed the nearest kid in pushed him up against the park are shouting, what are you thinking my card. Why would you throw brick.

It's a new car and is going to cost a bunch of money right being insurance man, you can just see Bill Mixon cringing right this minute. The young boy. However, he was very apologetic and said please Mr. I'm sorry but I didn't know what else to do. He pleaded. I threw the brick because no one else would stop with tears streaming down his face and office chair in the young point boy pointed to a spot around the parked car. It's my brother. He said he's rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up so now sobbing. The boy asked to send executive. Would you please help me get him back in the Ms. wheelchair.

He certainly is too heavy for me move beyond words. The driver swallowed rapidly and the swelling lump in his throat. He hurried and licked the handicap boy and his wheelchair took out a lick lick linen handkerchief and dabbed the phrase the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him that everything was going to be okay.

Thank you and God bless you a grateful child told the stranger to shook up for words. The man simply watch the boy push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk towards your home. It was a small slow long walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dinner door. Instead, he kept it there to remind him that sometimes people have to throw a brick at you to get there. You know what is it that God was trying to teach them that day and I think that's a phenomenal insight there myself and I told that story today because I would love to hear and I'm a bit you have a story like me where the only way God could get your attention. Was he threw a brick into your world and totally changed everything. And interestingly, that brick would maybe leave some type of the scar there for you to remember how all that worked out and I would love to hear that testimony today. This is a live show if you could tell November 1 day before daylight saving time it's all St. staging 866-34-TRUTH 878848663. We would love love love love to hear your story of winded God need to throw a brick at you in order to get your attention again the number to call in his life.

866-34-TRUTH 87884 we got lines open.

We would absolutely be blessed. This could be your chance to share testimony of God work in your life in front of all these listeners across the country so please cost with that whatever God put on your heart. Again, 866-348-7884 and at the bottom narrowly got Ford's Matt silk you know I bill you don't know line idea you're going to be shocked. I was shocked. SUV sales since 2008 have risen 88% unit since 2008 and you would think with Gaston. What is done that SUV sales would be following but no, there up 88% and so there's some stuff coming from Fort along those lines. Of course we see gas at the lowest prices we've seen in years and years and years and so this could be a big big big thing for SUV sales were to be talking about that with Matt from Ford at the bottom of the hour, but we won't be talk about some I just can't help but think and I'm not a big conspiracy in a person thinking in elections might have something to do with why I just think it's somewhat coincidental that it seems like in the gas prices around elections just seem to drop like bricks and so is it predictable that in 2016 that the price of gas may be I dropping again I'd I don't know why I just can't help but see that coincidentally it happens quite often in election years in September and October that it just drops dropped off. I'm sure that we have lots of logical explanation for them and have nothing to do with oil companies trying to make sure that they get some I have no idea, but I just think it's a coincidence that I couldn't help but notice, then coming of the end of the shift to get back in a more godly note in our praise about the real black book. That's where we search the Bible hidden treasure crap for discernment, lift up your voice for understanding, you know even talk about winded God hit you with a brick. One time God hit Jeremiah the prophet Jeremiah pretty hard and in the ninth chapter. I can tell you that God showed me something amazing is with Matthew Henry's help. By the way, and I want to share that this week in our appraisal by the real black books and we got that, and as always, since it is the first Saturday of the month.

It is Jesus labor love Saturday and we want to highlight those people that are doing the free car repair labor, not the parts that labor single moms widows and families in crisis across the country.

October's always been a banner month that we may have had more requests than ever. We had lots and lots of them. I'll tell you that we've had a lot of help. We want to get those names out, not the names of people that help the people who helped the again the Jesus labor 11 solid Christian card. I.com, say 10 we got all we got litter chips and also in the Christian show this morning. That is, I'm looking out the window here in North Carolina where if you're God has certainly painted with all the colors of the wind. I was just been blown away lately and you bill as you go down Southgate Parkway. Different places I remember in autumn that is been just as brilliant and all the different colors and God's doing some amazing things as you look out there and it's off here. I was like he's winking at me when he when I catch you sometimes put in autumn sunset with the autumn colors in a you can see some amazing things, but they also issue the Christian card I tell you that there are some winter stuff coming and we have to get our cars prepared for that because things change in his temperatures. Temperatures change mechanical things get kinda quirky took my wife it to Ashe County help peak in Nash is a couple weeks past the peak in the that it was absolutely gorgeous and I was driving around the back roads of God, a daughter and was really grateful that we had Kellan and labor roadside assistance and like it spoken as a true insurance man yet yet if you have a bright day out with its winter. He and Missy and rainy and trying to get somebody to come pull you out and get your car where it needs to get it's a really good thing. This meant that six or $12.

They had that roadside assistance in that Kellan and labor so I would encourage all of you, especially days of you that have the young drivers in the family it to see if that's a smart thing for you have been there. I also would say it's a good thing to compare your insurance company can offer versus the other places that you can get that coverage, but the other. Thank you. It's November 1 and it's now and in the mountains it it's a good time to reevaluate whether heaven collision or a lower collision deductible through the bad weather months makes sense. It might not make sense for you to carry a low collision deductible when the weather's nice but if you get ahead two with three months of really bad weather and you've got to drive in. It might make sense for you extra well your $30.

The lower that collision deductible during that really bad times a year bill.

If you have an agent that you have a relationship with. You can call them and change that on a monthly basis. Sure it did. Generally, what I tell people as it does it affect the midnight that you do it, but absolutely if you're sitting there thinking Holly and I have a month here grandma have to be drive in some really bad roads and that $500 deductible is just good the way you might want to consider 250 or hundred dollars deductible for that period of time and then remember at the end of that month to call and change that well. Along those lines. We have some tips but we also have phone lines here if you got some questions for Bill.

You got some questions for me or you want to tell us your story about when God hit you with the brick I would love to hear it 866348788486634 truth and one of the first things I was think about for winter driving is from a safety standpoint is you always wanted. Think about your tires because immediately as things cool off. They are at the chart the tire pressure changes and I often just walked like I walked into work and I as I walked by Karzai. Notice how many of our employees obviously have low tires this time year if they haven't checked the tire pressure so almost immediately when temperatures drop that something you need to do because temperature obviously changes the volume of air in your tires, but the other thing in certain areas. It makes all kinds a sense to get snow tires, not just because the treads different but the rubber itself is different. They use a softer kind of rubber that won't freeze as easily. It is especially formulated so that the rubber stays more sticky you know and get you better traction. And so that's a big one of the big advantages of snow tires and a lot of people do not understand is that the rubber itself is different. So when people change the snow tires you know they're getting a tire that in fact gets better traction, plus that wonderful sound they make all now they've they've made a lot of progress. Bill over the years a tarpaper going crazy right now they just heard that they like how we fix that.

Well depends on which conjugate you know that.

Seriously, they may make trade patterns today on snow tires and and so that's good news and of course coolant antifreeze. Wow, it's a huge thing and it's so cheap for $2.54 at Walmart. You can go get it tester for your antifreeze that you can stick in your reservoir and pull on the little strange thing, and for $2.54 know whether or not you're good that might be the best two dollars you spent giving the antifreeze of the driver is two dollars to check the end of you get the little tester thing and you tested and you'll know when it's it's so easy to read the thing nowadays.

It used to be a happy catch the little bubble going up but does not like that anymore. I got a big old graph on the side this thing. And anybody can read it. It's so easy to test and so easy to fix, but the other thing is obviously or maybe not. Obviously in your owners manual. There is a time when you need to flesh radiator and this is a good time to follow up on that because of flushing your radiator can really really add to the life of your engine. It can be as harmful if not more harmful than not changing your oil because that antifreeze, it becomes acidic and it literally begins to eat away certain parts of both radiator and the inside of the water jets of the engine and so when it says you're supposed to flush your radiator you need to flesh radiator. That's part of you know Bonnie five. You gotta nip these things in the bud that I love that and so along those lines, I always this time of year, month, is that Jesus labor love for Saturday of the month and I want to get word out about this ministry that we have. It's free car repair labor for single moms widows for the most part, but we also have other families in crisis.

If there's a crisis.

We obviously want to see if we can help and it you know we have widows and those kind of people and if you go to Christian card. I.com there's a Jesus labor love banner and there you can see all the repair centers that participate in this. One of the ways you can support program is to support the people that are given away the free stuff, but also you will pray for us and knows nothing.

There's links there for how you can support that ministry Jesus labor.

Love, Paula Christian card. I got kind of bodily arrogance well organically got forward in retirement.

This is when the Saints St. so much and when the Saints move on and and what and is yes it is all Saints here are guys know how fun is that. And it's a pretty exciting thing to think about all the saints, and we've got quite a show lined up for you today were talking about winter tips how to its car ready for the winter.

We also it is a Jesus labor love week here being the first week of November, where we talked about the free car repair labor for single moms widows and families in crisis. That's all there.

It Christian card.

I.com. If you click on that link. There you can find it again.

The car repair centers that are mentioned there. They provide the labor.

Not the parts to try to help folks in need. Now if you want to help this ministry in another way. There's if you click on the there's a whole presentation on how you could get involved in, and that's really amazing, but also we always ask people not go directly to the repair centers.

There's a form that they fill out where we have a team of volunteers at pray for applicants. They screen them to make sure that that's a legitimate need and so we ask everybody go fill out form and then we send it through our team of volunteers that help get that that stuff done. So we want to give a shout out everybody to go check out those people that are providing free labor now for single moms widows families in crisis. You go to Christian card. I.com and you can see the ones that are in your area and I just want to give a shout out to we got some new ones in High Point, North Carolina fosters automotive and elder to the Chrysler Dodge Jeep both join the team. There and helped out some folks just now in the month of October so we want to give them a shout out there might be some in your area weather in Kentucky or Albany New York or you're in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We've got them all across the country so check it out.

Christian card. I.com now here's this phenomenal thing that's going on. SUV sales are up 88% since 2008 and that's just my jaw kinda dropped when I saw that statistic. With all that's been happening with gas. Of course it's good news. Gas is going down now.

But what's even more surprising is what the experts are: for SUVs failed to do in the future and here to have a discussion with us on that very topic we have Matt Zoellick and Matt is the Ford Explorer brand manager with Ford in Michigan this morning to morning Matt, how exciting is this for Ford to have this right continue to really what are you looking at altering market or or an established market like US law held an SUV to get more work you'll fill out all the capability and versatility of the active unit. The utility find really really neat thing that global demand of 92,010 nocturnal, you know I my father was a Jeep feeling when I was a boy and I grew up to become become a Jeep you have myself and so I've been very familiar with this market for years and the versatility of the vehicle is wow I can have fun and drive and do all sorts of different things.

Plus, have all this utility be able to take it to the beach. Also to step it sort utility is such a wonderful concept, but there's something new on the horizon in their dealership. Everybody I understand that in Los Angeles you guys got something that's under the streets that we can't give any details yet, but it's pretty exciting. You could possibly want to look at our talk about regular oil really excited about going to make you look good ability and even more driver technology know that everything I did a lot of work today get better and better and I would imagine you can give us the numbers, but one of the big issues is like you said fuel economy because one of the shocking things when you look at utilities where they are today versus where they were in 2008 is one of the big reasons they continue to grow in volume as they're getting better and better gas Mark for that right body and you can get you a really bad word right are not really under America that point but the vehicle there are affordable and provide great value got the day you look at or got 20 or Highway leader you got the best in class for the nonhybrid olive than logical lineup amazing like that you get the versatility to get the capability no longer a bad word to look at a gas station in particular unexplored. Growth of the huge things in for our listings in the Christian point of use. We really value life safety is a gigantic issue and or and and honestly when my kids began to drive as they all got old enough, which now most of my have one that's coming up, but the other. That is all out driving I put them in SUVs because of the safety factor that that they are a safe one of the safer vehicles to be drunk during the coming year. More to the ball on the road driver will give you bill yourself or to have our StarCraft rating really great letter to curator Gen. audited view of the road you with quality Mike? Driving early on regarding career and you for me. I didn't want the little Zipcar exam was between these two you know whatever the situations is in the West. The statistic you guys are the experts are calling for SUVs to be by 2020 wholesale or well it's it's mostly up another like 29% from nearly 30% by 2020 and older really delivering everything to everybody family Hollow Road trip working really do that and really deliver on all of it. A lot of art or customers would never touch a minivan right but they still ability of the minivan might be exactly what they need right. But again imagery the capability that adventurous side of buying that that minivan yet. Let the chart got accompanied drive start delivering a package that give them all that imagery the capability of the pricing that they order and value think I'm don't make it look like a minivan. Thanks for being on this today. May God bless you. You guys keep up the good work up there will be excited to see what happens. November 19 great erotic love in the car thinking about you know, one of the things I think Bill about that subject is the genius of Lee Iacocca.

He was the inventor of the minivan or at least his team that he was with came with that with the Chrysler very shortly almost within three or four years of that he bought Jeep because he saw the handwriting on the road on the wall in what that's done for Christ over the years had that sport utility side that that they got from Jeep's is literally kept them well. They went bankrupt, but they the Jeep dealers. It certainly been a big plus he does on the Mustang he did for Fort Bentley and Angie used all parts that were already being manufactured and dreamed of a way to weave them together so that the cost produce and was extremely low at he was.

He was a genius.

He was a genius he he was a real gift to the automobile companies, but we gotta get back to some of these winter tips I don't want to leave you out there completely another one. It's really inexpensive instant and so wonderful of you to take new wiper blades.

I mean, they're so cheap you can get them 1012 bucks you can get these rain X wonderful wiper blades and you can go to the dollar store these days.

Get a hold juggle windshield washer and you know antifreeze, but it also does keep filament thing all window locks is no reason not to always have disc jobs of windshield washer fluid bill means just it's available is cheap it's right there, you know, why not jump in there and do that another freebie cheap, easy thing to do is your battery. You don't want to wake up some morning and that thing you know it when it gets to be too below. Nowadays I just want to be aware is absolutely free to pull in the most advanced or or AutoZone parts places they will check your battery for free if you need one. Mildred do the labor for free though. Put it in nice oh yeah is like that of Delta is a good you know how you know what temperament were dropping today at them. All that equipment. It's absolutely free to get your battery tested. So if you been driver for six or seven years and you think that's about that time. Why not just stop in someplace that check your battery for free and boom if you need one you know when I get it ahead of time rather than in outcome out of work some night at 9 o'clock and the need to go home and ate that click, click, click, and there's nobody left to the park, jump, do you know I've heard it said on batteries. The more expensive ones the same as the least expensive ones on warranties and that all will automatically have a warranty question, not from Jacob in Salt Lake City were to get the first when we come back on our final segment of the Christian profession was well psyches phase of the stated issues and my so it is an amazing thing and we would love that to happen today in the Christian card I share with your call 866-34-TRUTH 87884 866-34-TRUTH. We got Jacob oh in Salt Lake City. Jacob oh, you're on the Christian card I show the morning.

Today I am wonderful. What you got for us.

Thank you. My one night when 30,000 miles on right. And like you know and that's when you know that what you hear back from Darla yet really hundred and 30,000 miles on the suburban is not all that high. And so I wouldn't necessarily be all that worried about it. There is in our last Johnny to get your email address and I'll send you out the information.

There is a place that will analyze the oil of that engine and tell you if there would be any concern that that the engine may not of been taken care of properly or anything, but it's a fairly inexpensive thing like for 20 or $30. You have your will analyze and it'll tell you if that engine has anywhere issues bearing on that kind of thing and and that might be a good investment if you see a map, then by all means, you know, you might want to consider buying an extended warranty extended warranties are an insurance policy. Bill like you in the end. So if it's one of those things if you really can't afford to have a major breakdown of some kind and that's an affordable product and be sure you understand what it is that they're going to pay for what they want, but I haven't seen one would ensure a car over. Allie has lots of there's lots of an out and unfortunately a lot of them are red toss because they'll say in the thing clearly that it won't replace something that's worn out and then I go out as 130,000 miles on it obviously is worn out so you there's on Google and see if there is compelling and they can and you want to Better Business Bureau the company itself or easier to Christian card. I.com.

Send me what you looking at buying I'll be happy to look it over and send you back. You know our opinion and and other resources.

Along those lines be happy to do that for any question you always have theirs and ask an expert page. A Christian card. I.com but Jacob oh I would check the oil and see you know how the car is been taken care of, but chances are you probably got a lot of miles left because you know the cars will go there tested to almost 300,000 miles each day. So it should go a long way from where. Thank you sir I appreciate your compliment I'd like you. You're welcome which you know brings that that whole resource we've got a Christian card. I do, got all these nonexperts are not Bob's one and I need to let you get an insurance issue that Bill Mixon he's been on insurance thing for years and years and years. We've got bodyshop help from Jerry Rice body shop we've got all these people that are all wonderful Christians that are all would be more than happy to answer your question. It's all there and ask an expert as well as a Jesus labor love which we want to give one more set out to that ministry if you go to Christian card. I.com and you see the Jesus labor love that's free car repair labor, not the parts that labor for single moms widows and families that are in crisis within not able to actually pay for themselves where these people that we have listed there. They donate that so we always asked that folks check out that page and see who in your area is giving this labor is to find the wow this must be a Christian business.

If they're doing this kind of thing. And if you want to get involved with our ministry. We would love for you to watch the slideshow there to see different ways you might be able to plug-in and help and even join a prayer team, which is a big part of of what we do there and we have to get her last thing our winter tips, which is the emergency kit and and a lot of folks in Atlanta really wished they had thought through this one and part of winterizing your car is to think about what will I need in my car in case of emergency. What if I got stuck like those folks in Atlanta.

What when I want to make sure that I have in my car. Now I list the things that I think there's a post on how to winterize your car there Christian card. I.com as well and the things I want to highlight just right now and there's a whole list of my thanks. Things that I would want to have, especially if I'd had to drive like a nurse or somebody, and in winter weather a lot but the cell phone is the absolute no-brainer of the list, but a cell phone charger to go with that if that's the fluidly huge because if you're stuck for like they were all that time you have the charger then object obviously becomes helpful, but the cell phone has a flashlight.

It has a camera, it has ways to communicate with people in emergency there so many different aspects of the cell phone.

Not to mention if you got that good battery charger can provide entertainment. If you locked up you can podcast Christian card I show them just listen episode after Evans but also there are emergency candles that I think are really great idea they're really expensive. I put a link there to one that supposed to last for like 36 hours.

So if you can imagine lighting a scandal. It provides warmth.

There's something soothing about that occurs when a cracked window seat on the fix it yourself but there's something soothing about having a farce.

You got some warmth and you got some comfort coming from the fire.

I think that's that's a huge thing and then these emergency mylar blankets that Wayne absolutely nothing and it's there to help keep you warm and if if you're doing a lot of mountain driving those kind of things, or even eat even if you're stuck in Atlanta. Obviously in emergency kit is a really helpful thing.

What waters a good thing to have back to water for lotteries will for Dragon yeah and in antifreeze, as the case may be. So those are all things that you can check out. Christian card.

I.com but we want to move in our appraisal by the real black but that's where we search the Bible for hidden treasure crown for sermon lift up our voice for understanding, we told the story of the brick the beginning of the shadow this week. I was studying Jeremiah 9 in the very first verse. It's a read through it at first didn't think much about it and I decided little bit further and it says Jeremiah is obviously very upset and he says oh, that my head were a spring of water in my eyes. A fountain of tears. I would weep day and night for the slain of my people and I read that and I thought well you know when the last time I really had that kind of try. When's the last time I should those kind and I went to my Matthew Henry commentary Matthew Henry literally blew me away when he said Robbie didn't say to run the road that that word for spring of water in the Hebrew is the same word is the word for I and that I in this situation were meant for lamenting more than they were first seen, and as I reflected on that a minute I thought, wow, any and so I went and I did a lexicon on that word on that fountain that fountain is used often is living water.

The fountain of living water that Jesus talked about woman in the well-chosen Greek, but here we can see this fountain of living water, and I all of a sudden remembered in Pilgrim's progress to John Bunyan, made reference that his Pilgrim's version that when the when his burden came off.

He began this fountain of tears and did you ever thought is just at the thought that is you come to Christ. How many times you hear people stories that they wept and they wept and wept for hours and hit you really thought about the on being a fountain of living water. If someone comes to Christ to realize that they are looking upon the one that they have pierced some stuff to think about this week.

I know I sure love doing it. Remember, slow down.

Jesus walked everywhere he went and got it all done in 33 years so you know, get ready for winter and spend some time in the words
