Jesus Paints with Grace

Welcome to special edition of the Christian car guy show and were firing off this morning with episode four of Christian car guy theater it's time now for Christian theater with today's episode, Jimmy and the road you may remember that when we left with Jimmy. He been involved in a terrible accident was going to spend six months in a wheelchair. In this episode we join Jimmy at the doctors well Jimmy it's been six months and healed up nicely wheelchair those crutches anymore. Your job now is to get your strength back.save think it's okay to start driving. Well, well, young man, hold your horses. I recommend you start walking slowly at first, but after about a month ago job that should do the trick and make that bad leg stronger then think about driving Jimmy to the doctors advice and after two weeks of strength in the countryside and road. Everybody jump my life. Thank goodness on everything.

Jimmy came around the bend in the road to DC with Mr. Road about himself under his motorcycle pulling itself. This guy was very friendly looking. He had a Mohawk haircut and tattoos of writhing snakes up and down his arms get boots with spikes on the toes in a sleeveless black leather that had a skull on the back of nothing. I'm just walking. I was that guy you pass back there.

Will write a check in with well now you got your all scratched up. So was my cycle yeah yeah go on I'm not laughing could have been hurt.

She just froze up. You know it's wrong all the blinking Easter around here. Yes, you know, this model I know just hitching a ride into town records by Jimmy had his doubts that anybody would be willing to ride.

I would have any problem with that, but reality is, yeah, we that's tough. We have to deftly lean on the how to give strength to do that in the situations I read an amazing story measure in a minute about amazing grace, like that this week or somebody would just you wouldn't think in a million years. He could show grace and how God would use that as you have a story like that in your life something where you are scared or there was no reason whatsoever to show this person grace. Well I had a situation in Apex about two weeks ago and this young lady actually called in because she had a crisis and somebody said you need to call the Christian Car Guy and so she found my number the website and she call me and she said my cars on the side of the road. My daughter needs to be picked up. I have no idea how to get her picked up.

I have been I have negative money in my checking account.

She lived in Apex, North Carolina.

We had been working Jerry for probably four years on trying to find somebody in that area around Raleigh.

The work on cars and we didn't have anybody. We certainly didn't have a wrecker and I'm like I can't send Jerry Dreger already glad I think I I prayed right then and I told her I said I'm Meredith. I don't know anybody in Apex, we don't have any resources here, but let's pray lessee of God will provide something I'm not saying I'm not going to try to help but I don't have any so we pray that very prayer Lord please give us some idea on how we can reach out to. So the very second I got off the phone Jerry God said big church in Apex I Google big church in Apex well Apex Baptist Church comes up. And so there's the phone number I call Apex Baptist Church get the secretary on the phone.

I said Mama this can sound a little bit strange, but I do the Christian Car Guy radio show and I got a lady near you needs help to you. Have either a car repair ministry in your church or do you know of a good Christian mechanic that is one of your members.

Oh, I know just really great. What's his name. She gives me his name within three minutes on-call in the sky. It was Tommy Apex office and he was exactly as it is, he was a wonderful Christian man told him what I needed that I had this lady on the side of the road. I'm telling you he's like going to pick it up so I try to call Meredith back after I talked to him what he called her before I could get to so that you know her phone was busy talking to the wrecker service by the that I could get back to. But the biggest blessing of all the besides affected her car to get fixed and a lot of things, but for me when I called her back. The first thing she said to me, Robbie.

Prayer works.

My daughter walked in the door.

Almost immediately after you prayed and God found a way for her to come home, which was the mother's main concern at that moment in time and I say all that this quite often. Jerry you know that we don't get the resources together to help people. I got hundreds of applications that I would love to have that kind of response. But when God opens whatever doors when we pray and we ask it's miraculous. It it you have used. That story so many layers to one is you praying with her and then seeking God intervene in the assembly and also somebody answer that call. Somebody also answer the call, not just by you giving you a copy of call of God that had to help someone that is how to advance where the power is.

If you as a human being. When God made you your skin like when you get hot. It expands in your pores open and that sweats. Well, that's a really great thing is, it can help cool you off or when your hood is under the heat that the son bearing down on it. Jerry would probably blow most people's minds to realize how it stretches the paint under those circumstances, and opens up the pores of the paint that you just don't think about that stuff and you know when you talk about your finish of your car. It can, you can do so much good for that without much effort is just a little bit of effort and then even that will help you get a chance to talk about some of the things not to do the finish of your car what you think.

Your help in it on because that's also a big issue, especially in this kind of kind of healing this time of the season. With that, the bird droppings and the sap and all of that but your pain expands his you know it just shrinks up tightens up and then all of that is just a set summer said that breathing passage just picture with me for a minute. Now how do we protect ourselves for stuff like that and we talked about it before that obviously washing your car on a regular basis is a big big deal but another part.

Another easy thing to do is just a plane that you don't have to do anything fancy, a turtle wax and Maguires wax because think about what wax does. It melts and so as you do the wax on wax off thing on your car that wax being on top of the finish your car soon as he gets hot in the summer.

Wax does the wax does it it melts and then it's slick slick slick and so it's literally laying this this film of protection over the top of that paint it's it's that simple Jerry but it has to be done every couple months. It's just part of what Jan says with the fishes of the new clearcoat finishes and do your thing finish. You always use that there's a lot of great waxes out there but I'm tell you I am sold on ally Maguires but I just sold on the wax and wash itself off after two months, six months you washed all that wax off what that does it know you don't get that build up in his desert stops of what it needs to do instead of protecting your vehicle against endospores and Starsky net build up and then is not your your finish is not able to expand and retract the way supposed to just like a floor if you put a lot you know kitchen for his continued wax on wax all the sudden turning yellow and that's what sealers and so when you see somebody silicone products is the goal of this can last forever. Well that is a wonderful if you're in the body shop business you seen the effects of that and so a simple enough inexpensive turtle wax Maguires obviously being the preferred one by most car guys you know that's going to be there deal that liquid wax like it, tell you anybody can go out and basically get the car washed and get it waxed. Within an hour Tom do a complete wash and wax on the vehicle. If you just made. You may take an hour and 1/2, but that little bit of time is to say the finish that vehicle and as soon as you know what the car looks good.

Yet pride in it at your more comfortable keeping your car and when you care for your car like that you develop this affinity for, by the way you look look with you wax your car if you go park it somewhere to stand back and look at Yahoo on the one I bought this car. This thing is beautiful and it has to do with how you feel about your investment in those kind of things and if the predicate would tell you it's great exercise wax on wax off, I mean the next thing I whether next thing up. Also eyes. I been praying about old red finish and what's going on because out here truth broadcasting we have this very, very parking lot is really hot and and I come out and I see all that sent him on old red and I'm thinking this. This can be good.

And so I found a shape place a shaded building actually shades it not at the trees can be a problem because he got the sap off the tree and birds hang out in the tree and see got double probably may have shade but you got the other issues that come about so some trees are okay. They don't drops sap and they don't hold lot birds and so that's okay. But whatever you can find that shade now it's about a quarter-mile away. Sejanus was like were sold read well I jog I die now part old red about a quarter-mile away and I jog up to work and I get the extra exercise, you know, is an old geezer like me needs. Plus, when I go out to get my car it's it's it's 20 or 30° cooler which not only helps the outside finish the car but what that does for the inside as well write your absolutely you know what we tell, but that they always say without somebody inside you that whether net heat you talking about vinyl plastic leather cloth and that heat in that that son just just zaps that I mean it takes, how many racing cars all my life and no idea how many crack dashes crack consoles door panels at appealing headliners are falling heat has a huge effect on all the goes back that you go back to the one thing you just a little bit of maintenance can make such a difference some and get some treatment but on your – every now and then keep it clean dolphin interior clean whenever you can. You crack your window just think about that heat step what it's doing to that vehicle and he goes back to if you keep it clean so much easier to spot. Where where those other things are. That's one of amending the other one is never ever ever go get the Brillo pad out are that that the pan pad that you and your wife uses to describe her plans to get those bird droppings and sap off of your vehicle lactate around tarring another thing that people use a real course brush and you know it, but I put the first sanding for to be refinished. At that point and I it's it's easy laugh that we've all done it because you're frustrated trying to get that stuff off the paint you need to get off the paint is is getting embedded into the pay. You know, road tar all those things is all part of the cleanup. Sooner the better.

When you get it on their get it off. But realize that you know it's kind like your skin and I can take a Brillo pad your skin and think about what how you treat something that has a finish what we come back. I always feel like I'm your favorite when I'm in their presence. If you knew Jerry Mathis or Bob Young or any of my dear friend when I'm in their presence always feel like I'm there favorite and that's essentially all but you know that Jesus is full of grace and truth.

So I have the sense that when I'm in Jesus presence that I'm his absolute favorite and he treats me that way in spite of my behavior sometimes and now that is what he chooses was my behavior, but sometimes I chose bad behavior, but it doesn't change things I've been reading this book, you know, but technology today is phenomenal.

You can go online and you can look at the sort of trial, which was Spurgeon's magazine that he that he did in the 1860s and there's book reviews in there. Then you can find these old books and been out of print forever. That are in Google books because they scanned all these books and it's absolutely free and there's a book called Richard Weaver, the converted Collier and Anna just tell you, this book is a picture of grace. If ever there was one Richard Weaver had a praying mother's father beat his mother and threatened the cleaver head because she read the Bible and so he taught her sons to treat him treat her the same way. In spite of the fact that she constantly prayed for and Richard rarely preached that he did not talk about his saintly mother and the person who wrote his biography by the way, the Richard Weaver story said that he led more people to Christ and anybody knew at the time, including Spurgeon so obviously is vandalism on amazing evangelist at this point he comes home truncated coalminer's phrase, all face all beaten up from being in the boxing matches and stuff like that like they did for money. In those days and is he comes to the door and his mother as he can hear his mother praying through the door and rather than responding well to that he yells at her goes upstairs. She follows him upstairs. Keep praying. He grabbed her by her gray hair and shakes her tells her to stop. Then later on is easy. Monies boxing matches. He hits a guy in his blood covers him and he remembers his mother's prayer nothing but the plot and he comes to Christ and his amazing story, no doubt. But what's even more more amazing is to listen to the grace that Richard Weaver had for other people. After that, ask that there were numerous times he turn the cheek to somebody else on purpose so that they can hit him again till they filled feel so sorry that they would come to Christ that there's lots of stories like that in the book, but the one that absolutely took my breath away that he would have grace for something like this is beyond me. There was, he was preaching in a church in some place called Prescott England and and they came home at 4 o'clock in the morning that this man would come home drunk and it knocked his wife down the stairs and kicked in the ribs literally broken ribs puncture along she could barely breathe out.

Having had that happen to me not, I fell out of the tree and had my lungs broke puncture thoughts. I know what that feels like.

When Richard comes in. She's lying on the ground. She says Richard I want to be with Jesus, to scoping with Jesus and he goes you need to live any details of that you need to live until God says you don't have breath anymore. Where is your husband. You can go talk to Mel Kelly. He said I I gotta go talk now. Could you have grace.

I wonder, could you have grace for this man kicked in his wife's ribs and Peter near to death. I have no idea.

He goes into this man.

This man has a carving knife. He is carbon Apple. He said you take one more step it may, Richard, I'm okay and he said you know is you are now. I once was.

But Jesus had mercy on me, and he wants to forgive you for what you've done to wife. He leads this fellow coalminer to Christ they are in the kitchen that just kicked his wife's ribs that you may be thinking wow what a horrible thing.

You really should be put in this kind person and I don't.

I can't speak to that but what I do know is that the biographer said 20 years later. You never saw this man that he didn't have his arm in his wife's arm and they weren't going to church every single Sunday because of what amazing grace because he could treat this inhumane man) as if he was his favorite, because he knew from whence he came. I know that I've been that despicable to do horrible things. Why can't I have that kind of grace for others that Richard Weaver had. He was is is is and so you probably want to Robbie. What does this have to do with paint. Well, I have an affiliate old red is my favorite. I and you know that that do you treat your car like it's your favorite like this is my favorite car ever, because if you do your you're going to keep it better and you will keep it longer and in doing so it's a good stewardship and you will have money for other things gives events benefit by train cars every two or three year so this whole idea of favorite you know what I'm saying. Think of the most godly person that you can think of the person that you see Christ never use around him and I'll bet you anything, I will bet the farm that you feel like that person that when you're in that person's presence that you feel like you're there favorite MRI which Jerry yeah that you know that how deep is that. I mean really just you think about grace and how this man could go in and look at said the man what he was seeing wasn't someone who would beat his wife and hurt his wife is somebody that was hurting that needed to know the grace and that Jesus Christ you note any situation when if we can look at the that situation look at them through those set of lenses and glasses they can change it instantly and that's the point if you listen right now you're thinking I've done stuff. Robbie don't know I can't be forgiven. Jesus paid he went through an unbelievable torturing death in order to pay for that so that you could be holy and got you have to believe that he did it.

You have to believe that he's God's son, you have to accept that and you have to ask him into your life, but it's available and you can have that kind of cleansing that Richard was talking about their it's available to you.
