Good morning and welcome to the Christian Car Guy radio show up to what I am really not about this morning and Justinian, I'm Jerry Mathis with raised body shop and wrecker service. The Christian body shop guy filling in for or moved over seat for Robbie this morning who is on a men's retreat, dangerous heart retreat and I'm sure they have a great time this morning is one of the speakers and that coordinators for that event this morning has a major well first of all, this is a call in show, so I encourage you if you have a question or a that something comes up along the way that you like to ask us about give us a call and also can be given away a couple tickets to the Galpin rod concert at Palmdale Christian church in Winston-Salem a little bit later on, but our number is 866-348-7884 was a sad one, am excited about this morning two of my favorite people, be able to talk to this morning one of Ms. Junior Reynolds with Winston-Salem wrecker association with Surfside County wrecker Association, a wealth of knowledge in the Tobin industry and past knowledge in the auto used auto parts industry and also Colin from Bristol, Tennessee this morning live is Mark Garreau with PRE in racing and both of these guys is a set a really good friends of mine, but more importantly, their brothers in Christ and and I am just thrilled to have them on the air with me this morning. This is Marcus colony and I know he has a lot of things going on this morning wise at the track and maybe a long day tomorrow with the rain rented in here before the day is up tomorrow.

Go ahead and get him on there and not Mark how you doing this morning. Right now we are going to try yesterday and I have a feeling, however, were not going to Cory tomorrow and I believe it may be a long day but I tell you what a couple weeks ago. Martin's letter never thought they would get that race in what we would've gotten Larimore Martinsville.

We own it one day at Atlanta we went on the air radar showed we were completely encircled by rain and the only place it wasn't raining literally within a 4 mile radius of the Atlanta motor Speedway and it stayed that way all day is almost like divine intervention just held the rain often when the checkered flag fell out around 745 something like that and are granted eight so you know I get Atlanta and so tomorrow, although the weather forecast looks pretty grim and we never know what you want asked this morning and I noticed some of the story, but I think you see the PRE list is to hear you on the radio stuff like you know what what got Mark into integration into that career and stuff is what you just so to speak on that for a moment, you know over the years get to know you as well have what I said earlier was really important to me is just the fact that I can call you, not just Fram but a brother in Christ and I'm excited to be able to do that, but I'm certainly glad that God had a plan for you to bring you south how things worked out, but I have rarely been around racing.

I was one year old literally on my dad -like races at a racetrack in Claremont Ayrshire and my mom scored a rate and so they were low.

So when I was a year old yelled at something would be during the race and we had a babysitter so they would actually put me in truck parked in the area I and people would take care of me. They would change my diapers. They would keep me from the competitors of the drivers, their wives and things like that so I literally grown up around racing almost know from day one and you know in doing racing up north that you know with my dad actually got away from it for five years while I went to college and work at a local radio station in Rutland Vermont where we moved to what was that my parents found out and a racetrack old devil all Speedway in Fairhaven Vermont. Little of it down the road and I needed money and the guy walking one day as I need an announcer and I need the money will grow up around it and so I started my announcing career there. I will not end at Stafford motor Speedway with the largest NASCAR modified track and winglet and of the person you hired me at Stafford wound up moving to Daytona and hire me to go to work.

Moderate network so I go from a a racetrack and make out the old literally a calculi Vermont to standing in a power of attorney.

Daytona during the Daytona 500 from 3 1/2 years later, so I was saying on our right will never forget going.

How in the world of the year. I may how the world I get here so fast and I think that you not been on the air and broadcasting yelled what was when you talk then Sprint cup now monster energy cup series right to, and you know I've been at this so long that I was on the air. Richard Petty wanted 200 Daytona that I've seen a lot of different things happen in the sport over the last 3+ decades. What is what is biggest ever seen all the changes because it's only been a lot of changes in the sport what you thought think the biggest change in them. Probably this year was a change of think of her little bit about the All-Star race and change their but just in general before we talk about the All-Star race well for you so you Jeremy. It is hard trying to rockstar standard drivers you have the right to have and know when the economy you know started to head South. There racing was one of the last few sports to be impacted by that because most racetracks mostly aimed at multiyear contract authors in different find contract ran out. There had to tighten our belts to be able to basically bother groceries and pay their mortgage didn't have the extra money go to Ray we thought dramatic 8% drop off of Bannock Sanders uric racetrack in probably the biggest difference I've seen in the last decade or so and gradually. Hopefully I were starting to be a little bit of a turnback in the direction of where we having more people in racetrack more people listening on the radio again more people watching it on TV as part of the All-Star race is turn NASCAR problem on the mile and 1/2 mile race track for a number of years were the leak are as clean air and you could drive away because you got the most air coming on the part of our and down on the racetrack get the better traction yellow card behind him don't get back trying to bear because he's cutting a hole in the air and make you all afraid All-Star here and so NASCAR decided yelled at pollution over the last three or four years and now they decided take a really big bite out of the sandwich if you will with these rule changes or the upcoming All-Star rate and I think the changes are going to especially attract like Mr. Gannon Fontana mile racetracks will have respect plates on these cars. It will look like they comment holiday.

I also think that for racetrack like Charlotte going to make the All-Star race all that more interesting is that there that because of the restrictor plate because of a spoiler that is 6 inches tall in all the cars.

Now they're doing to fall but on side of the splitter they're going to be 12 inches of the rear spoiler there going to be 12 inches high. So what that's going to do is make a giant hole in the air in other cars and drive to and that will allow them to keep pace. Even if the car is not as bad, just like the candidate, or television. So I make the right people dramatically jump when I forget going to make it grammatically better. Maybe we you know, don't be all the rule changes really make a difference.

Everybody looking for in the All-Star race. Maybe we will NASCAR it is going to get a great big big change in the key to this is the drivers hated. I mean the drivers are not not all more than I've always said if the drivers catered fans will like the drivers raving about a racetrack made was going to be a boring right now I have the drivers complaining about the point system or the change of the playoff, then you know it's going to be something the Vanderbilt life of the drivers are already lined up and talk about the fact I don't like it, and that means that I think it could be something good this sounds like change of drivers like everybody else I don't like change, but sort of getting to the point of just what happens on the tracks and Stefan and everything we got about a got about a minute before the segment finishes up but I want to close out boiler wind on race day experience for the drivers may want go zone. There are 50 do it in a minute.

I know some have be quick, but was like that of the fans, thereby just listen and just what a driver goes through on an average Sunday morning. Well, they certainly have been preparing Jerry all week long they'd have to start hydrating probably on Wednesday for the race on Sunday. That's one of the big people drivers will tell you the actuator prep for the race began on Wednesday or Thursday, fluid or taking in what food they are eating are already doing, eating and drinking, but I corresponded.

That's number one on race day morning, they wake up and obviously you know 345 million-dollar luxury homes. Most of the top drivers possibly go down the road they'll have breakfast Bendel are usually consult with your crew chief. Somebody had some I will come down pit lane and speak with them in the truck or car directly and then usually they have sponsor obligationshere that you have the drivers meeting two hours before the race was ready and getting all I want to know you have a busy day today so that you listen to back down. Let's do this. We got more time market is called you to. What have a mark on the air and step is to give you little tidbit of what I enjoy doing when PRN is doing the rices and Neptune are on the TV. I usually turn the volume down. Listen to Mark. Mark is deftly the voice of NASCAR.

So I encourage you to do that and find your local file that carries the PRN network of racing this morning. Also in the studio with me as Junior rentals Junior's got up ton of experience in the towing industry and in the automotive use parts industry has data always pick on him because you know back to the day you'd always call that place is so used auto parts a junkyard and his dad would get fighting mad.

We could say a junkyard. It want to come across that counter so used auto parts, and I learned that a long time ago. Also this morning we will have an opportunity to win a couple tickets to the gap. He and Rod concert in Winston-Salem. So if your local is your chance to win two tickets this Thursday night April 19 at Palmdale Christian church on peters Creek Parkway across from the Walmart here in Winston-Salem 7 PM concert gap Penrod used to be the lead singer for the Gaither's tremendous talent and it will be an even that of certainly be a blessing. I know so how to get the tickets if you call in and know the answer to attribute question since were talking NASCAR this morning and since juniors here because he has deep roots in NASCAR in a way we'll talk about that little bit but my question is, Richard Petty won his 100th race what track did he win that race at what NASCAR attracted Richard Petty when his 100 race so if you know the answer that. Just give us a call Junior I know that here in Montauk and Stefan made you bring back some memories about race and instead what would be what what would the house I connect with you and show me a picture on your phone of this record what your model records that that is about a 50 model white and why it was written in black if they are black and white picture all you used your words are limited. I appreciate you asked me to come on we been here before you know are great friends and we tell you how great our friendship is we can disagree stably French as long as Junior always knows I'm right that is not sure if going to market, listen to marketers was great and also the story told about the truck staying in the truck as a child my dad. We had five children in our family. I was the middle child and the firstborn boy in my daily. He believed in the Bible when it said train up a child in the way to go depart from.

So he killed me with you in the ass stayed when I was able to know baby but when I got older I would stay with him at the garage this day in the office or the parts department. What ever but when there was a call. We had a large record and he called that wrecker. Many white and have a sleeper when that truck went out for coal. I went with in my position was in the sleeper. That's where I stayed in the sleeper why he would work the recovery part of the accident and he would always him in cocoa and peanuts to eat and drink.

The only problems I would get concerned with is if the load was pretty heavy. The wrecker was start raising up and I'm thinking is this going to turn over or whatever but I have faith in day and then you want to do and he would work back there and get everything stabilized so that I would be fair from a more of the steel stay with them and enjoy this type of work which I am many years in this industry for a lot of years. What are some of the changes you saying that towing industry.

The changes are seen as we need to understand the difference between towing companies. One is the main difference when you're looking for a towing company you need to realize your investment.

There and you need to realize the protection that you have either being towed or taken care of service relations when you're looking for a tow truck look for a business with a tow truck operation versus a tow truck owner with a filter you're going to get a cheaper rate but you not going to give the service that the customer deserves your protection if that vehicle were to get loose from that vehicle that stolen it. He's not going to have the proper insurance, more like an is going to fall in, you, your pocketbook that you going to cover whatever your car hits when it comes off.

If you are not protected by the towing, so always be careful when you have your car towed in the nothing out to people.

If you Mercedes and his Rick is it still not Mercedes and should not be protected to be damaged anymore, or any vehicle you don't. Be sure you have the proper towing operator that can like to say that the towing Association in Weston.

We work by the four hours were called out on the mercy calls respond.

We recover we relocate and we returned back to our business and safest movements that we can do in us what we can do for you. Once we get the call that you need your car relocate somewhere yet you don't realize so many times just you, the complexity of these new vehicles when all the sudden you know, used to be a receipts tow trucks with the sling on the back would just hook up to that metal bumper and be able to tell it now.

You just have to really worry about the damage that can occur to your vehicle. So what you know Christian Car Guy radio part of what we are here to do is to Pada try to protect our listeners in a way that it doesn't cost them money and are not wasting money and don't have expenses come out of the pocket that is really just by negligence and stuff them sometimes by who toes your vehicle. It was important as Junior say it is to know that that company has the equipment to be able to do it and the training to be able to do it will come back and talk a little bit more about that some other ways to also save you some money with your vehicles. In our next segment accident who had to go to BRCA1 scam throughout that question again. Where did Richard Petty when his 100th victory. Where did log at 100 bickering victory be able to win two tickets to the gap in rock concert. Give us a call. Take me in the car guard taking me around in the garden are you in the car in our own thing. You run the background music Jasper in the room over there will combat Christian Car Guy radio show, I'm Jerry Mathis with Ray's body shop and wrecker service.

Once again the question to win two tickets to the Penrod is where the Richard Petty loved his 100th victory and NASCAR at this morning having Junior in the studio's essays a wealth of knowledge and one of the things that he was involved in was also doing mechanical repairs and selling used auto parts and towing service and we talked a bit about towing service. How important it is to go out and find it company when you need a tow that has the ability the training. The equipment to understand that complexity of these new vehicles in the proper way to tow them and to do it safely. That's a good way to make sure you save some money and don't some heartache down the road by somebody who doesn't understand that or doesn't have the equipment they may be doing the very best they can inhabit equipment is good chance you can call some damage and by saying that you know is not always just towing the car Junior this right.

I mean, this can be when you have a you now with the electrical systems on these automobiles just Q1 in color somebody to come out do a jumpstart our somebody come and do a lockout service Zechariah jury. These cars up my wife's got a Malibu and that car is 22 computers on so with one of those computers you probably don't trade the car goes after is completely expensive process until you call always pay attention to the – or if you still like, you take that right away. Don't keep driving the car, drive to the first safe place. She came in to see what your problem is and owned receiving service from a token. What I recommend is this, if you had an accident today first thing in Bob is if you're not hurt. You still have trauma and is hard to think of what do I need to do and when the police officer gets there. You're still thinking what do I need to do what I would recommend I would research me a place were I would have towing services repair service, whichever is so your choice what staple a business card to your vehicle identification card registration card so that when you do have an accident that officers going to ask for your restoration.

That way that's going to light your arguments. I hope this is who you won't though my car from this accident scene or if you need a record you pulled the glove box open there. You got the number you got someone will come and help. But process of the your mind is to be prepared just like the Boy Scouts of your invoice you it's to be prepared, so be prepared in your vehicle. Yet children come after me driving and it'll be very beneficial if you instruct them the word. This is that is what you do in here so you call for help. Yeah me that that just makes economical sense. Plus also just the hassle of most of the time you note, rotation list, and you'll hear this a lot in the industry and stuff where you're the place of said you have a anybody want tell your vehicle and you say no just call somebody out there than a call somebody who's got training and equipment to do the job but the big buddy is that vehicle may be on the other side of town.

Maybe another side of the county, then where you live, and so then all the sudden just proximity of where you your having to try to go get stuff out of the get the vehicle picked back up makes it an inconvenience that this was just important to really as Junior said go ahead and and not just in the towing industry, but also for your mechanical repairs, gas stations, just somebody does a tire shop so like when you you don't just open the phone book when you need a doctor and just go to when you try to have somebody that you've already got a relationship with that understands your body also have somebody in the industry as far as a body shop me know where you going to have that hope you never need a body shop but when you do and you have damaged your vehicle. Somebody that knows you this on the work with you understands insurance companies and understands how to meet your needs to make sure that you get the proper repair but also have them is an advocate for you because it's a as Junior knows this is timeline being able to to also keep it insurance company where they know the repairs are being done properly, but to work with the M and also have good working relationship with them but also for the vehicle on the closing to the day you repair and that vehicle for the vehicle owner, so go out and find a body shop feel comfortable with a towing company that you feel comfortable with a mechanical shop that you feel comfortable with.

So when you have those little issues or problems. If you've already built that relationship up, you can sorta stop in and say you know what, I'm here in a tick in my engine. I don't really know what that is and though usually try to work you in a try to give you some advice on what you need to do a tire shop. You just go down the line because that is only in the end of the day. Some save you a lot of aggravation and also save you some money at the end of the day and that's that's important is as we, as Mark mentioned with racing while racing got worse about just the economy every dollar is so hard to come by. It was just important that you do it wisely, as is to be able to spend those dollars wisely and as you mentioned. When a light comes on Junior how how important is that that what why there's lights on the – four warnings and tell you that the Chinese, some going to happen if you thought I attention to the so many times people just ignore those when you had that at Reynolds garage was a business family people came in and I would say without lies been known for like two months and that now here in this terrible noise coming from my engine if I hit you know I will waste try to stress that there is no earlier – when that light comes oh this is drive to the next exit or drive home it just let you know really you need to see Kale were ever you are the closest place that you can see to find out what your problem is in most other people happy without dragging us out a shock to you can realize who you need to call your man is your work or whoever just always try to get off the road and get to a place that you get a check that's always important. Evan Takata any kind of issues with an automobile is to get to a safe's body as quick as you can see that all the time in the toe in his career. Someone didn't quite get all the way off the road and decide to change a tire of our dog, whatever it may be a menu this got a safety is the number one concern for you, your vehicle and in all of these things were talking about. This was so important to see have younger kids coming up younger drivers is to have these conversations because he said some really important earlier. You know when you're broke down or when you're have a flat tire.

You lost your keys in the car you been in an automobile accident as a crisis and it you're like me, it's when I'm in a crisis.

I may not always think they zapped have to make myself think things through and if you don't cost you actually do NT in their Winston-Salem. We we got one the most unique towing systems for the public that's ever been erected.

We started it back in the 60s, and though I didn't start it but my bed was part of most of the surveys is done we find that if you have an accident you within 25 miles of your home. Usually when you have an exit we work or I work with the police department represents 17 companies only towing list here inside and Winston-Salem for mercy calls and we are in a system where we have our vehicles located in the area that their business is and it puts it in there that. So it's all split up for each one to work certain areas that use you in the Police Department and the citizens Winston-Salem a quick response. A click. Kirk is click click area is the work that why we clearly illustrate so we can keep traffic flowing and jury mention something for you Ms. go about in fled town. The side road the towing industry is one of the most dangerous industries. There is in the USA because were at war. We have to be on these highways. Recently, North Carolina legislators has done us a favor. They have put us in this first responder group were the move over law now applies to tow trucks. So if you don't want to take it. Pay attention to tow truck operators out there working on interstate or were ever given the courtesy to move over. We don't want to lose any tow truck operator inside Winston-Salem and we've been lucky.

We haven't solicited that a move over love and help us out with you all. I will be finishing up the last say the coming up in a moment. Increasing cargo radio show on Jerry Mathis raise body and wrecker service that you have any questions with towing Helen industry health town.

There was nobody around got into the driver's seat and bathroom are combat cargo radio show once again deleted me is limited. Bob Dylan arrived here at this morning as a sadist been a great morning had two great guests in here this morning with Amar Garo and a junior rentals would sort of on the talking little bit about just saving some money, and how are our listeners can save money. One is just just begin taking precaution and being proactive when those lights come on. That means you need to get something done or there's an issue there. If you put it off then you're going to be from need in order change a little all added to need an engine which is can go from no change what 29, 39 bucks to 3000 bucks in a hurry 4000 5000 bucks out just be proactive own maintenance of your vehicle and Junior got anything else at Oneida and then took about a couple other things, to save some money on your vehicle without tagging adventure. You owe escalation Willamette is a record 10.

Did she relocate cheaper than you can, but an engine or transmission so always remember that keep the business going on that restoration absolutely and in this time of year we start sons, now warming up out there.

Most parts of the country. Not everywhere, but most parts is warming up and were in the springtime is just looking at the exterior vehicle start unit take time to keep it clean wash in this great town for some wax on it vehicle that's one way in and get some some pain just to touch up as little rest areas that may be starting to save you some money down the road you cause a look good today look good later on down the road if he does take a little bit of maintenance and another thing that always say that can really save somebody a lot of money as you go to the store and buy a can of WD-40 and Junior will probably have seen this many times where people come in with the hinges have never been order lubricated their latches and never been order lubricated and then what happens is that metal starts taking in sort of locking up basically I can go to more than a bottle of WD-40 and you need to do exactly what Jerry said keep ever moving door are childhood age.

Whatever your good. Let this keep it moist. There you don't have a problem and no sisters little simple things in starting a look at your tires and and make sure that one thing there safe but also look every automobile was riding that you get the small footprint of all that weight on the road really is so so important to make sure you your tires are in good shape and then even better than that. I mean most important thing which doesn't cost too much money. Make sure you got the proper error in those tires. Don't do like I do have gather fanned miles that I will grab in the tires, dry rot on so if you get something you know grandma you have drivers each each week to get out there to drive a mile or two such a terrible state of from flattening out dry rotting or whatever. Just keep that in mind, grab that vehicle was accused of equally good shape. The yeah you don't do them just just drop around the block or something. Everything. The worst thing you do is vehicle list. You really spent a lot of money and art are our efficient doing this when you put one up for storage and stuff is a lot of there's a process that keep the vehicle sound and mechanically sound where fishes will sit in the driveway. The best thing you can do is crank that baby up and take a tour around the block every week or so jury exactly right.

And no, this just treat that vehicle like you treat yourself you know, take care of and keep the faith keep it moving and no wash it off everyone's have to keep that thing clean it out. You know you have more pride and if one thing in and it or just hold up better. The worst thing for vehicles is not having wax on the not being maintained.

Just a simple stuff save you some money at the end of the end of the day so if you want to save money thing is just to your maintenance staff make sure you don't ignore your lights is that the come on the – and also just even the kind of fuel you put into vehicle meter style have people who come in the house. The other time. Some of these vehicles, whether set up you have to run hot test are more high-octane, you'll win them then to save a few bucks a thinking drop down to the lower grade octane fuel and that can cause some issues in an engine in a hurry and really do not save any money because your gas mileage drops drastically. Also, can set up check engine light when you get the car inspected an ongoing inspected with a check engine light go, but don't expect it works that's cleared and only the cleared is repair the was a wrap up this the show this morning I once again I just want to just thank Junior for coming in studio one thing about juniors we mentioned having a lot of lot of expertise. A lot of knowledge in a lot of areas with their automobiles, but Junior is somewhat retired. We don't let them retire because he still present that was set up so I can erect association is also on hazmat team on forgot what the name of that was in the CIA program that wears just hazardous waste in an cleanup from an accident and's chemical spills, but probably the most important thing you do. He's active in his church is a close out today is once just take a moment to that to just say whatever your profession is whatever you do, you know always know if you a Christian God expects you to bring your Christian walk into that industry. If it's if you're work on because you have a towing company and bodyshop business mechanical shop, whatever it may be your cashier. It RR the grocery store down the road.

Are you working assembly-line God calls us to bring our Christian walk into that environment is so important Junior and I think you agree with me. Sometimes somebody will cross your path that day and you'll know that God is telling you that it took to show Christ that day.

Somehow, someway, and don't miss that opportunity don't be faithful to the word nonbelievers looking for several things here that that they don't hear what you say they don't understand why I got time or anything like that but here's what they going look at if you proclaim Christianity that woke me there with me watching dislike to see if you can get out of step. We can worsen or save a great but we do have stay up listing is the mentally absolute in take a moment as it one things I really enjoy Robbie talking about is the fact that the Jesus labor of love is when the ministries that Robbie bobbed in and found it in a lot of faithful people involved in that. He talks about praying with the applicant's and the importance of that you sometimes just to slow down and listen to their their story of the heart ache and just just pray with them.

Just let them know that you care.

More importantly, Jesus Christ cares exactly you know you know the best time to pray for somebody is when they say frightful that estimate how to go I'll do that is we keep walking. You know what they are asking them to go ahead and do that this morning as we get rid of wrap up. I just want to just just take a moment to give thanks to a couple people, one of Stu Epperson for allowing me to come in this radio station in and and babble for a few moments this morning Robbie deal more for his ministry and to the station and in so many other ways as God's work through him just for this morning being the tech guy had set up all the leading music got to hear some unique sound is some history there. Appreciate Junior Reynolds coveted this morning, and Mark Garo: if from Bristol, Tennessee. So once again, just thank you for listening. Thank you for being faithful on Saturday mornings and also just lift up Jesus labor of love possess a ministry. This to a lot of us here is able to help a lot of people through Christ. So have a great weekend. Tomorrow morning, get up, get out go to church celebrate Jesus Christ celebrate what he is done for each and every one of us in our life.

Have a good evening Robbie be back next week
