Johnny is all in VA Christian Car Guy radio show Dolly to lift about two songs they probably weren't the world where you go over this well hello Dolly three moving life lessons. You see this week packing up and driving from Dallas, Texas.

Seriously, in a 15 foot U-Haul pulling my mother-in-law's Chrysler Sebring with a tow dolly right you get this provided me with the three life lessons that I think are worth examining yet. Well, hello, Dolly, three moving life lessons.

That's what we got going on today. Bob you know them same. It took me a minute to make the connection and connect the dots there, but that oh, how crystal-clear is found on me after I realized where you actually headed with this.

So the number one life lesson working to explore this significantly has to do with the fact that when you have a tow dolly now not talk about a trailer, but it Dolly it's hooked up to the back of moving van.

You can't backup. I mean you jackknife immediately. Absolutely 100% of the time and it totally changes your worldview. It costs when you can't back up you you got to be thinking: now where my going to go forward to get out of the situation because you can't backup and as you might guess, I restore along those lines will get to that in a minute number to get these life lessons out there, okay we'll we could linger on that we are going to linger number two stuff is heavy and bulky. I'm talking stuff is heavy and bulky and I've discovered that is easier to get rid of. Excuse me, it's easier to get Benedict to get rid of a man, and number three. I've discovered that you can fit a 1500 square-foot's worth of household materials and a 15 foot truck Kelly very carefully so life. Interestingly, Bob is moved forward. You don't get the backup and so what you know this is sort of this life lesson thing is is your thinking about telling this car behind right and and so you're really looking out there now.

This was my first rodeo with a tow dolly and so I have to return to my much younger years.

Let's go back to 1984 my first experience with the new ball seems like yesterday at the same like yesterday Mr. night I will never forget for the rest of my life. This time I have a 20 foot truck because back then you know you want to have plenty of truck he thought I had a lot more stuff I couldn't pack back them like it came out so we had a 20 foot truck and we had a 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix, which you may describe as a land yacht. This is not the front-wheel-drive version, or even the one that they shortened up in the early 90s. This is the great big long 1970 nearly 5000 pounds and I was let him live got brought big money, and then it was big money is so this thing was long and so here we are. 1984 we got this truck loaded with stuff and we are moving from Georgetown Texas to Grand Junction, Colorado, and we have loaded all day and we decide to drive all night now to say I was exhausted at this point would be an understatement. So I'm really really tired and somewhere on a 2 Lane Rd. in the middle of West Texas somewhere I really do not know because I was very very tired. I got to the point where all man I need to stop and sleep.

We gotta get a motel room and so were driving to the small town. I remember you can't backup drive to the little town and this is vacancy sign on what look like a little bit of a sketchy place like I don't know how to bring my family and about one but it said vacancy and so I wasn't I was like well maybe but that I thought now will find a better place. There's bound to be a better place. This little town in Texas and so were pollen through town and all the no vacancy signs are lit up and there's no vacancy sows were beginning to get to the end of town. There's this sign that says that the next town is 40 miles away. I am sleepy. I said well I will just turn around and it look like there was plenty of space in this particular place to turn around what I did not realize at that point that it literally takes somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 to 7 football fields to turn around this rig and remember you can't backup now to add to this scenario were at the bottom of the hill and back then in Texas, you know, people would drive 89 miles an hour down these roads. It's two in the morning and I'm at the bottom of the hill and I try to turn this car this truck around with all his stuff and as I get over there.

I I think I give myself enough room, but I pulled right in front of a billboard that was not typically large billboard and it had to for the fours were holding it up but it was right dead my way and I thought what I need to backup well you backup jackknife go the other way backup jackknife that way backup this way jackknife that went in on this. This was going on and all of a sudden I can hear a car coming over the hill at what I know is a great way to speed.

I think to myself will this is it big boy these people to come down hill and kill your family or you got to go outside put you back then those trucks had granny loading. Remember that bomb all you climb trees with a gear well. We climbed a billboard that might we pulled up gently to the billboard put it granny Loewen. We ran over the billboard and I made a big loop and I headed towards where I could get in and it was an interesting thing. It was better than a night sleep. I was wide awake. I was terrified ashamed I was a million things but one thing I wasn't at that point was sleep and and we actually went on and I felt that bad about that for years and years and years, but it was something that I have never ever even begun to forget that when you drive in such a rig you you you cannot backup and so you have to think through. You know what that looks like Bob I know you've told a few cars and I know you think yourself. I've got a U-Haul telling story for you Rob, you got a U-Haul story where the impact truck and we got we got a few more. Those we would love to hear yours 866-34-TRUTH 878840 this I can count the times that people pulled in the parking lot at the yarn and they had the vehicle on a tow dolly and you seen the parking lot. It is easy to leave yourself a forward exit right this real easy tape that people will pull right up there and put their sales in a position and there was nothing left of the except role that vehicle of an a lot of times even had then hit the tow dolly and move it around and then re-hook and then put the car Mecca, it's, it's not a no and and you're right it's easy. It's not a possibility of the back and that you Mike and squeeze out the answer to, but in its immediate failure so you might not be surprised at all to find out that Jesus spoke about this very subject told Alex in Luke chapter 14 he he's hello had to relocate email it back to me than have riders, but they had they had built our some people did and that it said before you build a tower, you better count the cost and so you know that has a lot to do with this very thing before you pull into that gas station before you pull into that parking place, you know, if you thought through exactly how you're going to get through and so there's a lot of life lessons that we got testament in the not backing up issue, but interestingly, Jesus continued the same exact the same exact thing he was teaching on discipleship.

You know, he goes on to say, and here's a little more of a challenge for the show today in which by the way that we love free to call it 866-34-TRUTH 87884 and this has to do with that number two stuff is heavy and bulky and easier to get rid of.

Easier to get and get rid of verse 32 actually says this so that none of you can be my disciple who does not give up all his own possession and down bulletin Phelan Weiler did Madeleine the first said that while a gala is like an okay I've got a little more work today. So then none of you be my disciple who does not give up all pretty sure that's offensive all hit off so we got so much more, call us 866-34-TRUTH 87884 866-34-TRUTH, you might be surprised at some of the possessions that you're carrying this way even said a prisoner free and reasonable way to link can mean me and I'll let you seen through lies really means giving and well today three moving life lessons and you know we talked a minute ago that stuff is easier to get than it is to get rid of and one of the things that we get is we think people owe us. We get debts is really, we think that somebody should behave differently than they should ever they should've treated us differently than they should have power that works about that is, like this tow dolly you got it and it's and is connected to you. Now how do you turn loose so that you know it's that's one of those possessions that Jesus is talking about that you can't continue to possess and so you got internally, so that an and you might've guessed, I just moved my mother-in-law from Dallas Texas to hear and so you know it's on I am talking to myself. You're trying to unload some of my tow dolly as I realize that that's my situation.

866-34-TRUTH 87884's number to call in and share your moving story.

866-34-TRUTH I'm very excited about because I have my sister actually was in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and she's got a story Cindy my big sister how are you I'm so glad you called. That's true. I'm happy that you're my brother and I will were three days away budgets like Robbie's birthday EBV is when they go. I like you darling story about our family. You probably don't remember about when you are nine years old, God, mind, and myself went to see hello darling Carol Channing in on the Climate Pl. in Chicago and great-granddaughter second row seats and we were so close to Carol Channing that she was she provide tiles with handing them out like dirt with the most current and then there's no turning point for me and it is such an incredible thing line. I've never gotten anything like that in my life.

I doubt he remembers every Saturday morning, God would put that stock of the collected data and Oklahoma is doing this. This truth is that it sounds run through my head you know is I'm going down the road. I'm thinking about this dolly my market up to it is and think about the billboard that I mowed down years ago. I said well hello Dolly. Here we so nice to have you back or you will.

I am terribly ashamed that I think it makes the point that when we don't count the cost, sometimes of what we get ourselves into. We mow over other people's lives as we get we think that we got to do something like that of a car, and that totally panicked.

I mowed over some guy's life and know you know this. That's what we do.

Think about how many times I got terrified of my life and just got myself into some didn't want to get out of the night's bow to mow it. I'm so glad you called this and will we will talk a little while and have a great birthday. Thank you. Love you too, but I was awesome when it us and see. She knows that all those musicals run through our heads because my dad my mom.

They love those things may tighten all the time and Sarah is in Washington state. Sarah you're on the Christian card I show good morning hello, Sarah, Linda, that's my other sisters Linda so you got the back part of my other sisters name I might look like around. Mary here we've been married.

I actually almost 94 Around 51. Daily living in Canada and that we can get a lot of traveling deleted traveling together a great deal and we had a lot of experience like the following than I did because I like to go on a good one at that. The adventure of packing everything we had. And my bed after that. And I don't owe you know he would demand that did like the Energizer Bunny: no matter what and anyway, we packed it large if you all that data at 20 some large staff in here me but anyway we cannot Canada and was delighted we were going. We had placed in the truck where we could get only just really had a bad good. And our old youngest daughter. We're going to leave her get caring like he did. He could finish high school here warily whereby my mom like and anyhow I remember driving, we were driving this truck I go little little myself going through with all all the furniture everything you know they lead and and going to and in the. If one party of Canada by the lake.

There it they were so thick we had to we had to find a place to stay and and delete that has been granted and I mean they were and and weekly deleted body ran out of the mosquito sincerely and I hate to interrupt this we we we want to hear the rest of this will we get back and you hang out with us to the right thing to serve in the league.

You can call ended. 866-34-TRUTH 87884. Would love to hear your story. 866-34-TRUTH so much more Christian partnership, Johnny and well hello Dolly three moving life lessons today they are number one you can't back up number two stuff is heavy and bulky and easier to get Ben to get rid of a number three you can fit 1500 ft.² of house and a 15 foot truck were going and all those little bit extra help with that.

When we went right before we went to the break we have Sarah Lynn is in Washington state and she was describing how she and her husband were on this adventure up into Canada in a 20 foot U-Haul or thereabouts and they were apparently planning on sleeping in the back of it and they ran into a cloud of mosquitoes, but Sarah a lot of people in the East don't know what a cloud of mosquitoes are. I I know because I've lived out west and you know I was telling Bob look I see mosquitoes still think I could not see you and if you happen into that situation they are on you like you can even see your arm and so on picture and where you can sleep at night in the back of the truck and then all of a sudden all we were thinking about that that when we went all the building we found the blade we validated blade. Modell this day and and then ran in and got you got the room and and then then we leave Park that I think it was the biggest thing that I will help you well you all you know those big bet.

Anyway, we got my daughter peaked going to be going to high school at dear Bailey, we ought we did we we got you think we could grab we didn't get out of that deleted when and with what we had ran that clouded room and shut the door down for a moment, I can tell you if you do not have blood spraying you happen into one of those you it's it's it's an unbelievable experience. It would never forget that when you are talking about lately to have a lot of experience when we left Washington. My youngest daughter was about seven and we didn't take my twitter and and then wait till he settled down. Finally, we did a lot of traveling in my head in it. Then lately it settled in panic and then delete the were called up to Toronto and settled there and then he had this card with lot of adventure in the traveling bit that with but I recommend mind and it's interesting thing is, she walked with the Lord. A lot of times you don't realize that you have an enemy out there and he is armed and dangerous with literally billions of mosquitoes that are really to come after your very blood. I'm writing a book on our on our life together and all it and glad get that hearing that brought back my life and want you to conclude that I don't appreciate when I want to know what you bring about the real experiences in the Lord that happened to it though.

Really, you know, or have an open heart or mind anyway, leaving a lot of you encourage me but that I've got a clue that you sold centralized tax. Thank you, Sarah, Lynn, I'm so grateful that you called in today. God bless you and keep up the great work and that wonderful all the bad comment on it. Well, we would love to hear your story. 866-34-TRUTH 87884 is a number to call in 866-34-TRUTH with your moving life experience. Bob, that sounds like she was under attack. That man lived until he was done I think she said 94 glorious, so how well I mean and that's cool that we got St. out there that have lived through so much is is is shared, you know, who knows how many lines those people change in running from Texas to lab in Canada. Yeah, they dance and mouse for the Lord, that's for sure. Well, as we were talking about that possessions are easier to get than they are to get rid of you know I heard some this week was actually about alcohol that some about when you take that first drink and are you take the drink. But then the drink takes you after period of time a few months before the whatever, but I thought about it's the same thing with possessions you know you you think you're taken hold of that possession, but try to get rid of it and see what happens. It's a it's another addiction completely, absolutely 100% beyond any shadow of any doubt it.

It's another addiction and so you like and you turn loose of this can eternally, but that but the possessions that that is that it kinda come across my radar.

My personal radar with these things where I feel like people owe me money is really open open monster that today when you first mentioned it to not was a tub who he's done by me. This lease tub that John Eldridge gave me that he's he said this in several different publications. He also says it through the boot camp some things that I've experienced it, and it really is helpful for to me is if you know you got that issue whatever that may be. If you can just say look Jesus, you paid enough, give that to you because you know that that's been paid for and and he doesn't owe me anything. You get it tape you did it and and but it's important that I realize that look, I got an issue right here and I need to deal with this and I need to apply the blood of Christ to that debt into the debts real in my mind. And so it takes a real sacrifice to get forgiveness and its nearly impossible to do Bob but I think it can be done for you tongue. You know, at first when you first start talking I was related to physical possessions in the and is so hard even on that level to get rid of some stuff because we had stuff in the basement and we went through it and went through it and went through it again and little by little we got it whittled down but there's still a lot of stuff in there and you know some of us connected to Rob and and Lori was very tolerant about me not getting rid of anything, you know his handwriting, anything it had his handwriting and I want to cling to you and hang onto and all that but then when you got me to thinking about the emotional stuff in the mental stuff that I'm cling into. I you just really shook me a little bit because that wouldn't fit in the basement I got I got a is you know, Barbara got another story along these lines I my my first wife somebody know me well know, I'm unfortunately divorced my first wife struggled with schizophrenia was hospitalized in and actually never came out after until she passed away. But before that happened. And when things were going good, we we are going to move from Grand Junction, Colorado, North Carolina, and she was a little ditzy at times and she had packed the keys to her car that were supposed to tell with a tow dolly in the very box that was that you note if you look at those you house.

I got this thing called grandma's attic in the very front will that's where you put the boxes is clear up over the cab and then you load the entire truck so it this box was loaded 20 feet of truck and I'm like Debbie where your keys and she said oh you know that box box landed. There is no doubt this particular time, it's snowing and it's November and we gotta get outta Grand Junction or before the snow gets the passes we don't have change anything for this U-Haul and it if you don't get out before the snow comes in. You might be to three weeks before they can get that cleared out to come. On the other side this it's snowing like to beat the band. The trucks loaded.

I just need to hook up the car at the same Grand Prix by the way to the tow dolly and go plan on some more so shy, so this time I go out I disconnected the driveshaft so that I can push the car without the keys and then I take the steering wheel horn cover off and I pry every little finger in the steering wheel away from the lock rods so that the student will will twist so I can push the car in the position to tell it. There's more to the story that you got one 866-34-TRUTH 8744 866-34-TRUTH yes I had to let go. So much more, moving life lessons that were talking about today on the Christian progress.

Or maybe you had an adventure in a U-Haul or maybe it was a writer truck you know baby having to so were were were completely equal opportunity or maybe it was a Penske work. We are were not talk about which kind it was. But we would love to hear about life experience definitely been moved by your lifelessness that I didn't see it, and you always blindside me and that, like the billboard that that that that he does have really opened my eyes and on and I'll think on the what you're talking about it first and then after I sit here and and ponder for a moment, I get a little deeper and and realize it. The issues you're talking about. I have an abundance of and is just really really really incredible how you do that to me. Time after time we get told loaded down. I mean we get loaded down with physical stuff with emotional stuff and again this unforgiveness stuff and I left our heroes.

My wife could put the keys in the box that you could picture Robbie is those who know me well know that I'm not not emotional so I am like beyond mad I'm like screaming related live in but not it unusual enough, I really would do that at the person I just go outside and I start screaming and I was reminded just I I've done this before God. Are you seeing this, are you aware that this is going on.

Are you really going to let this happen and I literally have had either he or the Holy Spirit of Jesus. One of them says to me or Robbie. Now that you got this all measured out just like this. Was this the measurement that you would like us to use with you and can you please easily hurt than the one I am. I'm not a great measure and when I really started looking at the Lord's prayer.

Forgiveness of our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass Lord Kenny Kenny use a little bit better scale than the one I see nine because it's I'm not always forgiven and and when you startup about these people know me, who had held as in the beautiful thing I love about that song by Matthew West in note. This is impossible stuff. It's literally impossible to to forgive, under certain circumstances, to let these things go.

The possessions that you can't currently serve because Jesus is pretty specific like to turn loose of everything, everything could be more clear so the beauty of that is it so impossible that it's it's like we talked about last week and I don't know if you heard the show last week Bob what we talked about Miriam's well and the Jews teach that Miriam was the older sister is interesting. My older sister called today. She was the older sister of Moses and she had this stone that followed her in the desert and the way that she would get it to gush water was.

She would sing to it and so you see the Psalms and stuff in the that talk about singing to the rock or even looking dirt Deuteronomy.

Excuse me.

Numbers 21 where you always knew that Moses got in trouble for hitting rock for the stone but did you know later on. Jesus said the Lord told Moses, you got to sing to the well when you're worshiping when you see the value of what Jesus is done for you when you get to the point where you can literally sing because singing comes from the heart right and and when you can, saying to the Lord about that then out gushes the living water that will cover that first you have for that struggle. Even with turning loose of deposition are turning loose of that that that somebody's got on will see one Rob.I was able to find out who it got to drag friend that he overdosed on and in his demise and for quite some time. I pushed and pushed and pushed and pushed in and I wanted the death sentence is possible for this guy and I was able to deal with that and I was pushing the thing, is it really you you wanted the deficit well. I wanted him to get the maximum you now all I could possibly get in the day that I appeared in court. It was like I got receive the big thump in the head and you know we were pushing the autopsy.

People in the us and that and it just consumed me for a while. He gave me purpose, you know, I've got to really make sure I get this bad guy taking care of.

He didn't intend for Rob to die. He was an addict tail and he was just gonna help somebody get something in and help yourself get some in return and and I had pushed and pushed and and worked on the autopsy and and it just consumed me for a long period of time.

Autopsies don't happen fast, especially when there's a criminal case involved with them because they got to cross every coming cross every T in that area and and it just consumed me. But it felt like it gave me purpose and I had to make this happen in the time we got to court got it worked on me and everything in and I even need the guy at and when I came a time to speak. I didn't ask for extra time or anything you know and I told the judge that one time it would've been a lot different data that no matter what happened to this young man it was not going to bring my son back and I realize that it was in his intent throughout the data at a need that you say that to the judge is and he, a got pretty much the minimum as opposed which was still six years or so that the you know I feel like I could probably hurt his case a lot more than then and you notice that I was there to do that. I just had to let some of that good boy it sure gave me something today for a period of time because I was really, really, really want fries, bacon, and I you know anybody that I can in my you know Bob honestly I can't even begin to imagine losing my child and and knowing that someone else was responsible in the way of greed or any type of of you know criminal intent and so in a test and and it can you take us back to that thump on the head. It was it was just crystal-clear. I mean I had softened before I got in the courtroom and and you know it it it was a process I gum see the guy in jail before before the trial and that was part of it. In this silly thanks and I'm sure Rob help somebody get some dreads at some time in his life to help feed his habit. That's the way that works uniting if I can get this got about some I can get by cheaper in its it's just the culture and the got you. Now he he didn't want somebody was helping get it to die because that was somebody out of his you know the chain drug chain whenever he and I hate it was not his intent and the Lord laid that clearly out in front of me and so I did not actively pursue maximum punishment and to do the impossible. And that's that's wow what a story. Thank you so beyond even think. Anyway, thank you for listening. Thank you for calling and sharing your stories and I pray that you consider letting go. Some of those possessions that got you beat in physical or spiritual and and thirst for what Jesus had in Luke 14 there for talks about being thirsty so you can thirst for that one. Thank you for listing the Christian car got a show. Remember, slow down. Jesus walked everywhere he went, got it all done in 33 years
