Psalms 119:108 Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me thy judgments.

The might of this verse has been understood since ancient times as this is the last verse recited before they blow the Shofar on Rosh Hashana Link to this reference. It would appear the Psalmist made a deal with God, "if I give this offering will you teach me." Like Hannah this type of vow is a soul thing and thus in the NUn section... Robby shares a story along these lines.

Hidden treasures of the hundred and 19 we get to might anointing of letter none and just about that concept were talked about the anointing's that Jesus gets literally every letter will get based on every letter is Jesus. Isaiah 11 shows wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and fear the Lord in the light of your Lord. So that's always the seven of the eight verses would be a diverse being the miracle verse of Atlantis on might today. So what is the might of the letter. None. And boy does this verse, mighty, and you also find this to turn and then it in the verse is that clearly the Psalmist understood some things about this that there really remarkable in my opinion I think you will agree with me at the end of this discussion that there is a tremendous amount of might in these words so to read verse 108 in the nine section again. Maybe I should say before that that the none is the letter that is called Haley. Oh, he Hebrew in the old version that they used in the days of David a Malik or Dave King David. They used it for common use. That was my understanding that the square Hebrew letters that we see today were the ones when they were writing something of the Torah, but for common use.

They use this other and then then was a seed and when you look at the regular none that's in the square version you can see that as well.

And the idea of faith is very much there.

And the idea of the soul because it's always in the flesh, and the Hebrew sages of years have taught and I think this is important understand my opinion it is that your soul is a faith machine.

In other words, it runs on faith, which makes sense that the none would be a seed and that the soul would be than the fashion and so we see all these things and I'm sure that you can see the might of faith is is pretty substantial and so as we look at this particular verse. I'm sure you can see that all over it. So the way it reads in English again is accept, I beseech thee, the free will offerings of my mouth, Lord, and teach me thy judgments. Now a really cool thing about this verse number one, you can tell the formats a bit different than any other verse that I see in the Psalm and also it is the first that the Jews repeat right before on Rosh Hashanah, they blow the shofar and and they will recite this verse and Ellen. I might put my show notes for the that show the different blessings that they do before they blow the shofar. On Rosh Hashanah, but this is the one that they do right before that because they're looking for that might there there pleading with God to accept their prayers and essentially their faith and set it's really cool and they also teach that this is a quid pro quo. I guess that's the way you say that I'm not sure but it's like it's making a deal with God I'm a do this for you if you will do this for me and the idea is very interesting.

One something to be very careful with what I understood.

If you ever got you know what I'm talking about, but were talking about valves and apparently valves are important to your soul based on what we see throughout the none section, we see that valves are all over this where he might remember in the second verse he swirled here. He's making it essentially eval and the Jews.

Compare this to Hannah's prayer, where you know Hannah said, Lord, if you'll give me a manchild to go back to first Samuel one. You'll see where she prayed and she made a deal with God. If you give me a manchild I am going to give him back to you as essentially the deal. And here it is chemical that King David is the same kind of thing he makes a deal with God by the for God as well as with God.

So, except this month the you normally give you these free will offerings my mouth so that you will teach me thy judgments. So hopefully you know he can continue to grow in that relationship with God through those judgments as is. Again we talked about in Deuteronomy 41 that this idea of living. From the standpoint of being connected to God and relationship has just a whole lot to do with this idea of judgments and has a whole lot to do with real life.

Real life is being connected to God and and so is you think about this. If you ever met a deal with God and you know and it's interesting how that happens that I you know is I was document yesterday that when I was afflicted from you know had this friend and I told the story before that he was dying of pancreatic cancer actually and I had never witnessed to him and and so when the doctors told us that he was dying. I actually went out and I made this deal with God and I I did it and I didn't premeditate league. I need to go make a deal with God. That is how it happened. I just remember praying I was. I was so heartbroken that Johnny might die not knowing Christ.

When I found out that you know here and work with this man for years and did not know where he stood and when I found out that he is his own wife, and his best friend didn't know I was afflicted, I was like how can I get every so I went out and heartfelt made a deal with God that I basically said God, if you will give Johnny more time, I promise. I promise that I will either introduce him to you or help him to get to know you better so I again that wasn't you. I'm just praying in the spring. What was in my heart and and interestingly it was I was making a deal with God and and really thought about it until I actually heard Mendel: this is unbelievable Jewish rabbi that often listen to him when he he explains this the explains it beautifully and and and talks about how the valve works when it when it comes to your soul and in there's a really neat thing that that I also want to mention about this verse when you look at it in Hebrew is that word beseech the that it's like saying please please God, please. Which is kind of where I was when I was praying for Johnny that time, like, please, and that word you might remember we we talked about in the memo section that the word how this X in of this interrogative prone and print pronoun of like the big questions was Ma, which was a man and an and Alice which is Ma which is, interestingly, you find that same disc you make that note when it says my God, my God, why have you forsaken me.

Will that stepmom right there. Okay, it's a big interrogative pronoun well the word not in other words, if you take them none, and you put it now.

If, after it hung, then you have this site. That's the CH it's like please not and it's like your soul is thing father okay because he got in the fashion sit next to the aleph which is normally the father so you you get this idea. Father, please, please, and and and here the psalmist is making this wonderful faith mean the think of the power this what their the Jews clearly see that it's powerful. That's what they were saying it right before they blow the shofar on Rosh Hashanah the day there Jewish new year is a big deal.

They are asking for God, and there pleading and and they're saying if you'll do this then then teach us your judgments and since it's absolutely spectacularly powerful and I hope that as you just study look at this. Were this verse. I hope you like me and you and you began to memorize this Psalm because as I go through this right you might go okay except I beseech the decree will offerings of my mouth. What are the free will and offerings of the psalmist mouth. Well you can hundred and seven verse that you said before you say this one right and influence kind of cool that you get here and now your your your asking father please.

All these things I've been saying the hundred and six verses before this except as a free will and teach me teach me those judgments and I'm I live with you. You know is just a beautiful thought, and I really love this verse. And of course I guess my soul and help us to relate a call Psalms right and so enjoy this first day on the hundred 90
