Financial capital financial. This is the gold shell. It's really hard minutes every day. You know what. So Adam told 24 years in this market and sound really easy congratulations to you Adam for your award not only for your work here and on and are not a fan actual radio show the outstanding canes corner podcast.

You're the best, Adam appreciate you and congratulations puts more pressure on me to fill a God cannot mess up the show anymore really have one delayed game, so I will judge you very, very nice, very unexpected and very unnecessary. What what what what's what's going on. I was going back there yet to delay games always look I think I think all zeros.

I take all the all zeros. Here is you don't, you don't have to worry about about any of that so but I appreciate the.

The kudos. If you will, the associate producer stepping in here to remind grandma that the delay of game is not on the producers actually on the host always, always on the host clock I got a clock using the same clock you no time to go to break about the brakes to say it was the it was the delay in the was about Sarah. He was a soundbite as a lamb soundbite with Western Mary might what you might need to get that information from Jim show this is normal alcohol with this is normal for for this radio program but I thank you very much for all of the well wishes and kudos. Just it does feel like that that this is it. I'm on the way out.

I like what we well he was here. He did a great job. So that's all good. I will talk to Western the voice of the ACC about the ACC here just in the second and then in about 15 minutes or so will talk to Brendan Whitted league pass layer about a very active early part of the NBA free agency. Were about to go into massive free-agent signings we've already had some trades where the bad news for the Charlotte Hornets whose top score from year ago Miles Bridges was arrested on domestic violence charges yesterday in Los Angeles will talk to Brendan.

More about that in just a little bit, but the voice of the ACC West Durham joins us and I have known Wes for a very long time and Wes and Mark Packard did a morning show on the ACC network from essentially inception and it was a wonderful show and it will air its last episode tomorrow because I don't know maybe they're sick and tired of each other, not a making that up. But like all good, all good things come to an end. I already miss the show which made up about 11 hours a day of ACC network program. Yes, we are fine. This is all good. Knows markets will be think about the coming week, but the people would govern the dated I'm hoping that my point about my role was going to expand the order that and you know a lot of things going. You know I could be your careful placement of the time were no reports on the road. I think it will all be clear to folks. First of all, you have a future in emceeing big events. You did a phenomenal job to get moving at the NSA may awards on Monday and I knew you were there all weekend but I only showed on Monday, but you did a great job you run through all that, you big time so I appreciate that that you will come on this show on short notice, but you are big time and I appreciate your friendship and all of that were limited record of all. It was awesome to watch your war room for you because that's kind of the, you know, in all honesty and blustery party organization law, way too long now on board chair. For some reason because I ran out. So there is a lot of about that but number two.

The cool thing about seeing you get the award the other night was the reaction of Scott Revco got up out of his chair and came 40 feet across the room to hug you got off the stage while I was about the needed thing up saying and that was a cool moment between got to know each other a long time and I just want to share that with your listers because I think that's something that your people forget we do. James talk so whatever talk sports are limited by think it's great but they're still cultivated lasting friendships in this industry that go beyond the workplace or go beyond that environment and it was cool to see you guys gotta reconnect that way was really cool.

Thank you very much for that. Scott also is incredibly tall. Somebody took a picture that that would be that would be like a man hugging his child, we will.

I have no problem .56 with the wind, so whatever you know Scott's a foot now, Tony. Let me ask you this, but we can talk about the 355 scheduling format for football. I think that's great long time coming, but I've been wondering what what is the what is the impact on conference location. I don't think it matters at all. I think you can have an RV going from school to school and Jim Phillips headquarters could be exact. Wherever Jim woke up that day where the quiz where headquarters is for that day. Is there something symbolic about where HQ is, I believe there was a marked trigger more distributors are allowed to become either being in places fairly efficiently knuckle what is our flock to the the. The other part of that but I think you're speaking to the ability to make it with no rooms and all those things right yet.

I do believe there is some symbolism to it. You know, but I think in some respect. This is become a little bit more of a praying man. I think any of us thought it would and you know I read Luke Cox story yesterday in the news observer, a lot of things you recently about it and you know I like to be honest with you I just wanted to be settled and move on you not have one atomic get away from it on. We would now target into something that I hope is nothing there was nothing in my opinion, and now you know were constant around now talk about one of the reasons we are the athletic season is over.

We don't really anything else to talk universe.

I'll so invariably, this is now come back around to the front of the government will and I think in some respects, the ACC all the people involved in Greensboro and Charlotte and wherever else just probably wanted to be determined. So we can all move on and get ready for next year's show this, the state of North Carolina legislature has earmarked $15 million for the league. They stay in the state and there there attaching things like championships championship sites to that money, which is fine. I mean, I think the ACC is always get a base of the majority of their men's basketball, baseball, football to stay in Charlotte unless this was the team leaves and there's no stadium there there and I think I'd be in Charlotte forever. Right, but I just don't know what the what the significance is of something like that. How would you use Greensboro for bass for men's basketball wall I think.

Number one on every. I get marker semigloss white bark you Joe New York power station before they were hatched permitting we were credit worker regard about New York and insulation.

Other long. Yes, you know, that became reality and I think that quite frankly the ACC has three houses which are to work on a regular basis and it needs to base every five year rotation around those three houses in those three houses are Greensboro, Charlotte, in Washington. Okay, those are all premium markets to which the, the ACC can can really benefit from, and then the other two will that's on y'all that's on who wants to turn maybe Atlanta does come back in the picture. Maybe Brooklyn does come back and picture. Maybe in Outlook, be honest with what I told you Joe years ago that South Florida was building momentum for the tournament. I don't know that South Florida still has momentum, but every time I've been to Pittsburgh in the last 18 months or two years. I guess pandemic post I've heard about that Pittsburgh would like a clock at the ACC basketball told that I got you know material is right when we look at Will go anywhere wants. I like to trample spine.

I think it was a completely different, but we only went one.

So go to trample wants 15 years ago was at work.

We can certainly go to Pittsburgh once the capital Brooklyn was okay.

I didn't have an issue with it was entirely different. I think the problem is we all have some degree of comfort about the ACC basketball tournament that when it goes to Brooklyn or it goes to Pittsburgh or goes to Tampa or someplace like that such an offshoot of what you are used to that it becomes a problem, or at least it becomes a problem for some people. Personally, I think Charlotte, Greensboro, Washington are the three places you can build with every five euro wheel and then you decide how the other two are fractured and baby you want. Maybe somebody from outside those three is not interested. So guess what you like those three figure out the other two and you move out your window is a drink.

We need I don't think we need to get into a long-term nine or 10. Your contract will start though without location. I don't believe that because I think it's a competitive event, the league can create revenue and also I think the products, but pretty damn strong mixture to that's one thing that I'm excited about that. Were going to go to Greensboro and it could be a bit of a flashback to the old days you know what I think. I think the league should be much better.

Obviously last year as a bar, I wouldn't be too difficult to get over, but I think the league will be really good this upcoming year.

This is what I would do them will close on this Western voice of the ACC from the ACC network ESPN the I would I would first of all if I could go to Washington for a long time I what I think that's the best place I think Charlotte is a close second. So I would go two years Washington two years Charlotte and then depending on the year I would go that extent last year to Greensboro to be in Greensboro the 70th I would go back to Greensboro for the 75th tournament and then you did not use it as kind of you know, round numbers, 80th or 90th or whatever. Who knows, it will have 100 ACC tournament.

The ACC might have 50 teams in it for the 100th anniversary of it if I didn't go to Greensboro. I wouldn't mind going to Atlanta or Pittsburgh or Boston or someplace.

Someplace a little different that we haven't gone before. I wouldn't be against that interesting thing is that I thought Brooklyn was no better than okay and if we can't get to Madison Square Garden I would just assume not go back to Brooklyn I think you would probably have a lot of people that would join with you in their thinking and understand that I understand that because there's something about the garden it makes it different from the euro from the Berkeley center, terrific arena Berkeley Center. It was fine.

I enjoyed it was fun. It didn't. I didn't think is the greatest work, but at the same time. I think that when you get two points in the ACC. You can do things that make your event special that you can do an elite attic that always need will expect the part about Brooklyn, though, is a great bagel shop Bergen bagels right around the corner from Berkeley center and also the beer hall that the ACC rented out for the media was top-notch, top-notch people.people outside the media did not realize the yes.

So to hospital be room at the basketball is is the best legs great your great aunt Brando got a have your credential's got stories about to Brando, the ACC tournament that I just couldn't leave right here for now put them in the book you impactor your writing books I should write a book I write a book about nevermind you can't even guy can't even start the story Wes you're the best. I'll see you down in Charlotte become what about those recruiters are doing a terrific job that he deserves. He does I'm getting about doubling his salary today. Firstly, somewhere you got it was durable CRC. Please welcome Stephen Charlotte ACC football kickoff for my man Coach Pete through the capital financial advisory group. We are talking retirement. I coach simple. When we start tax planning and retirement should start as soon as possible because here's one thing that taxes are not going away and so the game here is we know the rules. A lot of people want to ignore the rules or act like they don't offer me with them but I rest those rules and so we get retirement.

The region start to consider money out of your accounts so the secret here is to put a force field around as much as possible. By strategically moving summer on Monday to Roth IRA were some of the other vehicles that are taxed like a special life insurance policies you can borrow against your money there and never have to pay tax on your money to build up inside a cash basis. There a lot of strategies here. One strategy that does not work is ignoring mature not ignored the next 10 people will do for you your very own tax and retirement plan to help you minimize taxation with retirement 800-661-7383 only got his call or you can text Adam to 21000 for Coach Pete. The road there was some sort of the cat. It could have been a door stopper make it kind of a vibrating noise. We have a lot of things going on will become back will talk basketball Brendan Whitted, free agency begins very odd if not tomorrow the next day, but it's already going on. We have opticians we have opt outs. We have trades and will talk about the bad news with Miles Bridges of the Hornets grand Hill, 1970s Formula One race driver is sitting in for Dennis Cox today. Dennis will actually join us in about 25 minutes as he is getting his fourth tattoo one was not enough to was not enough three was not enough. Dennis wanted to get for he will join us in a little bit and I will talk about his fourth tattoo and we will place bets. I'm good at tennis. Not very good at everything else.

But I've been good at tennis.

I'm three out of four in tennis wagers and will will get to those NBA free agency is going to start we've already had some trades and of course the bad news is the domestic violence arrest felony domestic violence charge for Miles Bridges forward for the Charlotte Hornets average 120 points a game was going to restricted free agency. The Hornets basically this is before anything happened. Hornets were to let him test the market if you wanted the Hornets have the right to match any offer he is a restricted free agent because the Hornets extended them qualifying offer.

He turned it down, which absolutely is his right.

He did scrub Charlotte Hornets off of his Twitter bio which you now the kids kids act these days, but that is a want to keep an eye on the situation. The Hornets aren't going to let Miles Bridges walk.

They're just not so. But he doesn't have a whole lot of value right now. Felony domestic violence arrest is not a not smart business heading out into free agency that I'm not trying to make light of it, that the timing on all of this could not be worse. But in the long run. Maybe this will get miles Bridges kind of back on track. Personally, here's the thing that when I read the story today I brought this up earlier and I just don't understand why you even included in the story so it's it's one thing we have a domestic violence incident. It's a felony. He had an altercation with his girlfriend Tuesday he flees, the floods flees the scene turns himself in Wednesday. That is what it is bold that part will shake itself out in time, but the news item. The news account. While we why does it matter that Miles Bridges whose main job is that of a basketball player.

Why does it matter that he has a fledgling career as a rap. Why is that part of the story unless we have chosen the stereotype wrappers. I just don't get it like that is the that is the ugliest code BS is unnecessary. It is in no way pertinent to the story. I had no grant grant myths. How will you grab my lot asked me like 22 2323 of of new hip-hop music right the fondue. I don't know we talking just like basing your car just up and down the road a talk about liver Cold Stone it is anything stuff that is come out the last couple years. You had no idea that Miles Bridges was also a rapper. There's a lot of MBA stores are represented I have no idea. See that's thing I don't know either. I not I usually have a small circle of people that stick to that with a J Cole Drake domestic new music, childish Gambino, but he's no longer making music with you acting that look at him is an actor. I let's get to Brendan Whitted. Maybe Brendan get to the bottom of this league pass layer my friend at HQ Cosell on Twitter, I'll just start where we were.

Why is it pertinent to the story that miles Bridges has a rap career that I don't know if it's gotten off the ground or not but it was mentioned in the story. What do you think it was mentioned in the story you think you will be missing half a long time that a written statement being more of a meeting and so when you involve and rebound about whether or not you know I did not own their sending to me.

It's called it's it was completely unnecessary. It was as as much to say hey another rapper and puts will Google leave it there. Miles Bridges going into free agency and the Hornets who would met probably match any offer for Miles Bridges.

Where does this leave the two parties here. What is this leave the Hornets and Bridges the right you know what reported she had everything or her injuries so that the legal have to play out.

No, I'll, I can't remember offhand the last one of the patent MBA will really need a a a guilty plea you are or you a player and so in all business. I just just a really could not come at it and so I think I will have to get some of the details of Bay County comfort. Now I know that very team gather all I have to figure out what they are comfortable with bringing back what what they can find out what they know what the organization, no question about that HQ Cosell on Twitter Brendan Woodley pass layer and currently working at his alma mater, Howard University and that is very cool.

Let me weep free agency is about to begin, but let me just get it. Well, yesterday we has begun, but nothing to be official yet right what looked like every talk about the two like popular opt in and opt out timely.

Irving tried to power-play. He tried to get the nets to renegotiating a max deal. The nets are like mad. We've already seen this this play we don't like how this play has ended. The last couple years so no were not doing it, but feel free test the market and if you can find assigned trade. We will try to accommodate and Tyree took about two hours and then went you know what, let me just opt in. So what does that tell you about Tyree and the nets. I think that maybe from both perspective, they might both be your situation because I don't know how much Tyree is going to want to continue on with this partnership partnership is not working for a fight right and the net figure out what it got to the point where you know the idea of the rent being available via trade started to get how to get quote bloated out there because it Tyree's not here got the bird you Lord you know can explore type thing and that portable player that caliber clearly done yet. The type that is routinely available much with their bunk come negative thing with another year end date.

What happened we didn't in the late they wanted it in last year that they could team together and included the title this year that I'm going to happen and it had all the kind of fell apart and I think the net would like to reevaluate things that they did something that you going all in on no longer going to happen again. You have really trade will act it in the rent are we going kind of grit bring American income to get it. Your word so download, read at the think playing this year with kind of the very particular reach that is likely going to show itself again and any and it will lead you know, at first it was was on the play away game on Windows state legislator get together and save New York law the way and when you think that the problem is not going get him that in the court think that I have been wanting still Rh negative contender. If you have Kd economy. My guy just what it is gone but got a healthy you have a shot when the title and and close before. So I think that you got your roof. It didn't. It just makes more sense to hold on. If you can waive the spectacular, what would it maybe there were about leadership and take the Tyree Katie Katie what you get all out. I will leave the custom coach and you know it. If you want one of the evening day on MBA pain we feel you change the code, and the like that with the private, so upfront about his question. Maybe when the course about the mass in particular made their leadership. Generally speaking, but I will probably hear them proud that there was a major push back the executive and the player of the more it out on the team didn't work where no makeup and not my Tyree is that nobody wants Tyree because availability has been a problem for him, not just what happened in this obviously very strange year with covert but healthwise and Tyree is sort of the disruptor and is there another star player that would put up with Tyree's disruptive personality other than Kevin Durrant who is only about basketball.

Yeah, I in LA right now and what I would like I am.

I am 100 was that you were at Georgia to be about. You don't know that he would like you can make a corral, my pretty open about something. Regret that you had about how he ended things with Lebron and hear a lot and Carly occurs were great or anything like that. He was a bit more apologetic. Hey, if I if I have one of one more and and make out something that maturation stuff that I have to go work in oh and we all are.

Maturation can happen at any point in our life is not a straight line and the I remember Tyree saying that when it was wasn't doing well in Boston. That man if I just stuck it out, mainly with one another another title tightly wanted to be his own god that's fair. I had no problem with that and the problem is that playing with Lebron you're always going to be number two.

Even if you're the at this stage. Tyree is probably the more dynamic player.

Let me let me throw one more thing that you before Lebron would go at HQ Cosell on Twitter James Harden opted out $47.3 million at maybe the Sixers will give him a contract like that. I don't see why they would based on the way played at the end of last year, but is this basically to play for less money and bring in more players that will support your or to look like an annual money to Vermont.

You know the opt out within the extent to renegotiate the black of a better term that would give him about four years and so maybe that gives a little bit more stability forgot it had only and so I'm interested to see how that works surprised that he was willing to take less money next year and the private you know a little bit more Friendly brain got on everyone if they counted throughout the organization.

A lot. Already, all feeding off the start earlier than usual, something that is been for God, played alongside the best thing to start if you got if you healthy and I'm not sure how healthy was that healthy and lucky like this from you if you know that you have a commitment from him emotionally and and you and you and you like Valium like that and after F that still a hell of a combo with he and it and be like if you get even a 90% of what we have seen the back of the fainthearted. That's better that you're still a contender for the title so what you're saying is Brendan that there was an off-season conditioning program for James Harden in the past, this one will start earlier than that one did ever again were assuming that that one actually started, so this might be a little bar, but that's fair. Brendan Whitted Lee Pressler at HQ Cosell on Twitter.

Thank you very much about talk to you soon. No problem at all. You got here.

I had a brief half time to get to and then Dennis will come on and talk about tattoos and will will place bets that fair.

Let's do whatever we do here have to do anything tell you about that stuff about her going to break.

June 19, 2006, but it all started May 6, 1997 the announcement that the Hartford whalers were coming to North Carolina transition of heartbreak. Figuring it out on the fly became 25th anniversary of the presented by the Carolina listen you gave me some who were doing yesterday. Soon I was still doing my role referred to the store yesterday so when Dennis use the that's marketing and soundbite real housewives show me to research real housewives he remarried to pro athletes, which is what I did here is the one that I found most interesting. Robin and Juan Dixon. Wow.

This comes from. According to faith in.com's article was initially written back in November, 2000 seventeenths of the real housewives of chromatic Robin takes anomic Potomac that Ron Dixon has a rather unique relationship with her ex-husband Juan Dixon who was retired he was a retired NBA player Robin Warner high school sweetheart Sue got married before he became a Shabazz will player even though the couples are now divorce.

They continue to live under the same roof and coparent your two children as if they were still married. The state of their relationship has been a constant topic on the show with many people question whether or not they will move forward we can sideline our finally go their separate ways on what to say is this the fact that they were able to live in the same roof and coherent to children's like they were still married Robin that is that of the present I have no idea if if that is still the case.

He is not spouse. He was married to Robin Dixon until 2012.

It says partner is there still like it is still an open there, so maybe he is maybe a still cohabitating.

I don't know. Here's a this is not anything other than a little piece of trivia for you as an adult and I have been an adult longer than you've been alive. Sure, as an adult I have asked for one person's just one and it is one Dixon really yes one Dixon was a basketball player in Maryland I he is now the head coach at Coppin State in in the media and HBC you in Baltimore. Dixon is from Baltimore and overcame a lot parents were addicts.

They had AIDS me he had.

He had a very very difficult upbringing and was one of the best most productive players in University of Maryland basketball history. They want a national championship the last time I cared about Marilyn basketball was 2002, but I have the house I have the, the official NCAA game book from that championship game against Indiana and I had one Dixon autograph it when he came to Durham a couple years later to play at a NBA All-Star game he played with Duke players at Cameron indoor Stadium coach K had so much respect for Dixon the player that he wanted Dixon to play with his sabbatical thing, but that's the only really autograph.

I have asked for is for there you go on to something told me last night to perhaps so glad I did try out. Next we have four or five sore Florida State quarterback and former arena football team quarterback Jack so sharks delete Dixon has signed works easily can really has signed a contract with wait for the Carolina cobras who are the North Carolina indoor arena football team in Greensboro, Carolina cobras are still around. Apparently so.

Okay all I the only reason I put this in here is because of this is for Matt Kuhn Twitter bodily injury was a star quarterback on the Netflix hit original show last chance you an independent college report. Four of the series. Look at that Verizon don't give up the dream, you never know. Kurt Warner was an Iowa barnstormers. No kidding arena football. He also bagged groceries just to make ends meet.

Now is the Pro football on either watch last issue, but Henry he was a heck of a football player, was running honestly was about my size maybe had a little extra 20 pounds on the 3632 25 something like that and he could at about 9 to 200 but anyways he could throw the ball deep down field. Unfortunately, just that work out of Florida State also did not work out independent community college for whatever reason, is that they which is some off the field issues with the coaching staff but I was really cheering for him. When I watch that series a lot people warrant but I really liked him when I was watching that show right to the heartstrings because exactly right exactly right. And then finally going over the expenses is that you guys are fan of music so wanted to have this morning here on this day June 20, 1984 Bruce Springsteen's dance in the dark reaches its chart of number two on the hot 100. The song spends four weeks at runner-up held off the last three by princes. When doves cry racing never does reach number one, except as a writer for Manfred Mann's Earth band song blinded by the light that you reach number one in 1977 but the next six singles from his born in the USA album all hit the top 10 which I think is fit and since it is a July weekend coming up is yes for such a march to America. I will ask you Joe can answer this question to any official video of dancing in the dark. What future actress I mean actress got her big break early this is all you I do not know about even seen the music you have to ask is Joseph Joseph and music. Remember when I was younger.

What exact longer than Granville is been alive.

Your associate producer and want to shine shorthaired Courtney Cox got up on stage and dance once again the go to answer for any actress question Jennifer Cox or Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Aniston yes or Courtney Cox from Marianne Phoebe's. I want you back with smelly cat nevermind no don't go. Dennis Cox is going to join us for the day to get more input on his body and place bets next gram held on the ones and twos. This is Manfred Mann song written by Bruce Springsteen. Bunch of songs at Springsteen wrote that other people did. But this is this is cool when normally we get to this time of the day Dennis Cox and I make make bets but Dennis is not here today because Dennis is getting 1/4 tattoo we have. Do we have Dennis all hooked up. Let's get Dennis Cox where are we in the process or my yes you do. Here the way right now. Yes, we are outline blackberry done savings going in right now, when we getting some Miss America conflict, character) samurai for my man Greg, who at that phone company up in Youngsville, Europe and Youngsville. Schatz shouts to your tattoo artist.

If I ever get a tattoo.
