Sick you will now want to hear from you.

One 800 68311 secular broadcast today we started documenting the after was wrong but became a disastrous withdrawal of US troops refuse to result to give the loss of life force of our US troops will also reduce catastrophe inside Afghanistan continues on to this day, persecution of religious minorities like Christians but also the treatment of women. We know that because of that the Taliban take over the way it was handled the fall of Kabul happening in 48 hours rather than 90 days at this this I give the league of the Afghan government. The, the Afghan military innocents giving up arms as they were unwilling or just unable to fight the Taliban and the four and everything that came with it. So my brother Logan was has been sitting that with lot of unique individuals with different points of view so you can see a little bit to this today Logan because this is available for people to watch a log format right were tradeshow today is a mix of who was there. It's people like Mike Pompeo record of people you start broadcast but also Tulsa Gabbard bike waltz John Ashcroft cubby. But two people that were there from the very beginning of this, the Marriott to Nikki Haley, yeah, it was a really fascinating thing to do. We set out to interview these people originally was done without remaking your 90 minute documentary ended up being a over four hour series that we released and we did it real time to redo it as the conflict was unfolding. So to me it was a fascinating time to get people's raw emotions and is available right off the first time ever in the totality on YouTube in every episode will be released the entire series of this limited series will be released by the end of this week's we wrote about your One-A-Day and its attendant episode in most most of the interviews are between 25 to 35 minutes. You can sit down and watch sort of in podcast formative in some ways are mostly review the there is music incredible score.

There's be role to get a little more engagement. People will like it. As you said, there is even people even agree with your to disagree with that was intentionally want to get people's point of view, from a bit of our realm and then a bit outside of our realms. You have a conflicting version of what you have it ready for me Tulsa Gabbard than you would from a bike waltz you two different veterans, both with great careers and military bows with two different ways on how we could proceed in Afghanistan in court allowed this was done in August September October of last year a surrogate.

He feels very real, first Iraq for our team for record now for Mike Pompeo and they said John Ashcroft was there for the beginning you would have your West Smith, who is your one of our people here on our panel. He created at Dover. The dignified transfer center where the bodies are transferred. If you fall in in in warfare fallen your brought over this whole situation.

Explain how that entire project was created and how running that with Tom's incredible emotional experience so really great insight very interesting and exits available on our YouTube channel. Yesterday will give is our YouTube channel X YouTube.com/official ACLJ shows a production that we do that in this logger format.

Longer discussion than you can even do I will. It's about radio how we have a longer discussion than cable news. This is a longer discussion than we could even do on our broadcasting down one individual uninterrupted and and talking to. You're going to people who were there in the White House from the day that were began for people who are fighting that war people were dealing with the bodies coming back from the war, American soldiers and who are still active duty who will represent the US US at the UN did this again you do. You see, if some angles and we now know this was foreshadowing pretty disastrous international policy board policy and military decision by the by the administration sober living with right now as we speak. I encourage you as you see the special broadcasting to support the work of the ACLJ.

This shows more Barbara Orval were able to put together a full we have access to working ACLJ.org double the impact donation.

This entire month of March. Give group and notice the match every donation that comes in through the month of March 20 dollars relations like 40 is like 100 ACLJ.org donate today in her financially able to ACLJ that will be right back.

The American Center for Law and solutions at home and abroad. Whether it's defending religious freedom to those for their faith covering corruption in the Washington bureaucracy fighting to protect the courts and in Congress ACLJ for that way comes $20, $50 gift becomes 100 constitutional and only one. A society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice is, is there any hope for that culture to survive.

And that's exactly what you are saying when you stand with the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life. We've created three powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn is called mission will show you how you are personally sealed. Jesus here means to the many ways your membership powering the right/right is the first big city to follow his conditions one after another Afghanistan's biggest things outside of Kabul were captured and rotten to the west terracing Kabul caring at the deadliest attack on US troops in over a decade.

Afghanistan is lost. Freedom came under attack on my orders United States military has begun strikes in my direction, small team of Americans carried out the operation with extraordinary courage that killed Osama bin Laden like Dottie's dead mind and America's lungs will do it responsibly. Listen to behind the sound helped American troops and safe Afghans by the thousands, desperate to escape life. I'm sitting down to talk with Sen. James Langford of Oklahoma Sen. Lyford currently serves as chairman of the Senate subcommittee on migratory affairs and federal management fervently defend religious freedom both here in America and abroad. Center Langford was directly involved in the ACLJ efforts to bring home a prison pastor Andrew Brunson from Turkey pastor Brian Aaron in India center. Langford will be joining us today talk about his plans to bring Afghan refugees escaping the Taliban to Oklahoma Sen. I wanted to get your feedback over the last few weeks of severe coming of weekend where we's we memorialize the last 20 years since September 11, a time when for those of us live through it you is, those moments we realize a lot of us a lot of people in it of the screw here were two and three years old with some of the stuff was happening. Those of us to lift you through it. We saw a very uniting moment for America.

I nine months into a Bush presidency.

You now go 20 years in the future.

Nine months into abiding presidency tragedy happens related to that and it's really important to wait to see where the country has gone last 20 years of uniting over certain things, but maybe you can come to touch on this. Do you feel that there was many uniting noticeably for the administration, but in seeing sort of the horrors that were coming out of Afghanistan. There were so many things over the last couple of really weeks now. I choosing to come over and over and over again.

Everyone is shocked by how people see it will be left to stand how painful it is to be able see what was left of the table. There they abandoned Barcomb Air Force Base.

See all those things are just a lot of frustration on what they actually saw there and they know we were going to get out of the way that we got. Painful singing of people over and over again is there a couple of people that were fighting alongside me never Afghans. They put their lives on the line just like I do.

They work are they were translator. They were traveling with me.

We always told just go sideways and tell them to go over working to get you out safely, and they were pretty frustrated by the surveyor, how it ended.

Frustrated with what we spent the rest the world. Some of the sprinklers that work with us in side-by-side with our military forces and what they continue able see from there to see us lowliest country abandoned Americans and abandoned individuals alongside absolutely touched on something that's important in the Afghan people, whether it be the translators or our people to follow side Americans were kind of metaphorically front of the bus by administration as your people who who abandon ship ran away quickly. That's the opposite of what I received in these interviews are conducted over the last few weeks it seemed like very compassionate people, very sweet people and we as Americans are compassionate people that conservatives often get labeled in a way that I don't really appreciate as we can all look to that the scenes it happened a month ago and see the horrors that they were and say how can we help what we do know you are one of the people who discussed taking refugees in Oklahoma somewhat controversial thing, but not really.

I think for you it becomes a very loud minority online that people think represents conservatives or Republicans typically do not.

Compassionate people want to know the washer decision-making to come to that conclusion because look at some of the states and some other people in your party have taken an opposite approach diversity was always different.

They came to me and said these are folks that I know they fought alongside them families later life and the life.

Loving people. These are the folks that are fighting against the Taliban. These are terrorized type of people that we want to dance that we want to be able to support and so how I came to that decision was talking to some friends were. They were saying about those individuals. Now they want them to be able to get out. So that's the first part Oklahoma law mise 48 years ago when they were fleeing during that time. Driving members of our community. At this point, varying lots of research is lots of business people.

We did this is a state five decades ago.

With the maze. We will do this again with Afghans that are coming into our country, will probably have about 1800 2000 Afghans that will move into Oklahoma that individuals should be folks that work alongside of our military work alongside of her sick apartment.

I want to randomly grab the process mostly spent that are moving this direction are exactly that those that are not fully vetted.

They don't need to come to the United States. All we know they are and what their background is, says a lot about you. That says a lot about the state of Oklahoma yes would support this kind of move. In general, I think that the Christian thing to do is someone who I know is that a person of faith. It is important to to disconnect. Maybe you partisan politics actually look at the heart of it, because I know about you, and in other people couldn't watch the children being passed over the gate. You could watch those things happening military and take up even before there was that the Isys attack and not say how can I help and I think a lot of people could turn to the administration the presence of ministration and how can I help until I get no answers but there are people like you as an ally for Senate people in Congress who are saying okay, the administration may be failing us right now but you have a voice in the represented people and I think that's that's got me an important step for for anyone right now to really look to their local presentation churches should step up and say what is one thing to say destitute afraid escaping from the ruthless telegram we got them out. Think of the churches and nonprofits to wrap around the great Society to make sure that you have connection points here again. Many of these refugees are not coming to America and other countries so but those that do come to the United States to make sure that we actually engage in that that we make sure we show them for me. The love of Christ to those individuals but also be able to make sure that we help them survive. Pretty amazing transition, not just as a country is failing as an individual absolutely look back now, it's been roughly a month when recording that I wanted people to see the raw emotions were coming out of people.

Remember that this is a year and two years in three years and 10 years because it's so easy to look at 9/11 and sort of this historical viewpoint now to pre-social media pre-the way that we have to run our lives. Now I will make sure that these kind of interviews with preserved so regardless of what happens here somehow the people know the intention was coming out people like you overcoming out of beyond Washington to committing your time here because this is really critical monthly ACLJ, I will be launching the new year. This first month of March. It's a matching challenge month is when he hears more often we don't do a lot are broadcast.

But these month, it is important because the ACLJ of course is a 501(c)(3) organization. We exist because of your financial support. This broadcast all of our attorneys.

All the cases all the work we do here in the United States and around the world including our work in Israel or work in the Middle East are work on behalf of persecuted Christians were representing governor or state because of the pro-life law.

If we are again at representing the heritage foundation in the fight against the employer vaccine mandate. All those cases were able to do because of your financial support and part of that of course is this broadcast is well aware the matching challenge this month of March. That means we can double the impact of your donation. Let me explain how that works. So if you donate $15 online ACLJ.org right now we have a group of donors to match all those donations through the entire month for your $15 triggers a $15 match. That's like $30 force, but all your donating and all your charged is $50 and you can donate online ACLJ.org about 50 bucks 50 bucks becomes $100 for the ACLJ because it triggers a $50 match. These are these are probably our most critical months of the year and we like doing this way so that we don't have to spit a lot of our broadcast doing a fundraising pitch to you.

Most of the year.

These months we really do have to tell you how we bring the broadcast I would bring on the experts. How we have team members like Mike Pompeo and Rick were now planning on the fight for life. All because your financial partner matching challenge and ACLJ.org only one. A society can agree the most vulnerable invoice is, is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying when the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life. We've created three powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn is called mission will show you how you are personally sealed.

McCarran means many ways your membership powering the right/American Center for Law and solutions at home and abroad. Whether it's defending religious freedom those for their faith covering correction in the Washington bureaucracy fighting to protect the court seen in Congress ACLJ for that way comes 2100 constitutional and today I'm speaking with United States Atty. Gen. under Pres. George W. Bush.

After the September 11 terrorist attacks by Al Qaeda.

Atty. Gen. Ashcroft was tasked by President Bush to take action to make sure another attack never happened again.

Prior to that Atty. Gen. Ashcroft served as the governor of Missouri for nine years before then been elected to the Senate in 1994 former Atty. Gen. Senators expressed serious concern about the stability of Afghanistan. The Taliban is taking control. Once again it September 28, 2020 why we are joined today by Atty. Gen. John Ashcroft was there the very beginning of the war on terror get his point of view not only the last 20 years what the future could hold for Afghanistan and the future of terrorism in this country Atty. Gen. Thank you for joining us and we just past the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

Hindsight being 2020 what your emotions and memories of that day. Now looking back on the 20 years of such a tragedy. Well, it's a matter of great regret that occurred obviously is something that we should learn from. We should make sure it never happens again, or we do whatever we can to displace the resources that were aggregated to make it possible in the first place situation in Afghanistan reminds us of the continuing threat of terrorism, especially given the fact that prior to 9/11 20 years ago. The folks in Afghanistan had been involved deeply with terrorist strikes against the United States but not so much on American soil embassies overseas: and the like. Terrorist groups were resourced in the frequently found refuge in Afghanistan and President Clinton had actually fired missiles into Afghanistan in retaliation for the acts, so 20 years ago, we learned that terrorism could visit our shores from foreign sources had some incidents of terrorist activity here in the United States. The Oklahoma bombing is one of those, but foreign-based terror became a reality in a way that we hadn't anticipated when you look at that now following September 11 there was a great uniting moment in this country were 20 years later, roughly a similar timeframe of the Presidential administration is when President Bush and your ministration had handled September 11 attacks. 20 years later, very similar to the bite administration having to handle what was going on Afghanistan. The exit of Afghanistan led them over the nation united after September 11. Do you feel that we can get there again as Americans that we can be. This united country is having a lot of people watching this including myself, see the divide going deeper everything. It doesn't feel like there maybe with unified said yes the atrocities Afghanistan autopay perspective a lot about what these are horrible, but it seems quickly people fall back into politics and it is a different world but I do you feel that there can be uniting again for American you would sure hope so. It took an assault from outside the country by the terrorists striking New York striking civilian population, striking targets, which were symbolic of what we are and what we stand for as a nation that united us and since then we have been successful in keeping those kinds of things from reoccurring and is a matter of fact, politics, the good politics at that time was the champion the unity of the United States against foreign threats.

Some people have come to the conclusion that good politics now is to divide United States and champion one group in the United States against other groups in the United States, alleging that the United States is not a place that's to be admired or the focal point of respecting human dignity and human rights but is a place somehow where they are disrespected and ought to be rejected and that really has fostered this disunity, which is very very different than the unity which we experienced, especially that which followed immediately upon the attacks of 9/11, we look at that, uniting moment and short-lived. You can say that there were times where it became very contentious, very political politically driven weather was the war in Iraq or anything that followed were hearing now coming on the Pentagon UMC were deeply involved.

This 20 years ago.

I think a botrytis can break down what it all means. Because we had relative peace said there hasn't been a major terrorist attack in this country since September 11. There has not been there, been relative peace for three years.

Our client coming out of Afghanistan, but now here, the Pentagon said the resurgence of terror in those regions.

Afghanistan, this is sort of inevitable what you say that to do is been there like yourself who have been involved in these top of me is what is that mean for us as Americans to we should be looking out for what is that, although it's hard to further whole generation abruptly without really good knowledge of terrorist threats. Well me just say this that more terrorist activity.

There is an estate and the higher the threat is to the United States the ability to export terror is a something that's a result of technology, communications. If you think of threats as being one component being late now a lethally destructive and the other is deliverability. Where can you we were protected by oceans for hundreds of years as a country where no longer protected in the same way and resources that can be assembled planned in one part of the world can be deployed in another part of the world so the defense of America and the ability of America to displace, or otherwise default plans to attack America can't exist solely in the United States. We have to be aware of what's happening in other places and one of the reasons we haven't I think had intervening attacks in the United States is that we consciously taught thought to fight terrorists. There rather than to fight terrorists here and it's up problem.

Obviously, when we have the fight terrorists at all, but I think most Americans would come to the conclusion better than fighting be there than that the fighting be here and if we have decided that we're going to just thinking we can wash our hands of terrorism by leaving an environment in which terrorism will flourish and grow and provide planning resources and perhaps launch potential against the United States. It could be that we would be making a very big mistake to think that we can just turn our backs on what happens overseas the domestic security of the United States can no longer be controlled and determined totally by focusing inside our borders. Your time here because this is a really critical monthly ACLJ, I will be launching the new year. This the first month of March.

It's a matching challenge month is when here's more often we don't do a lot are broadcast these months.

It is important because the ACLJ of course is a 501(c)(3) organization. We exist because of your financial support. This broadcast all of our attorneys.

Your $15 triggers a dollar $30 part of our matching challenge and ACLJ.org today the American Center for Law and solutions at home and abroad for limited time you can participate in the ACLJ matching challenge for every dollar you donate $10 $20 $50 gift becomes 100 checking the constitutional and religious freedoms you forgive today online keeping you informed and now this is what I hear from you, Sharon poster, call one 863, 11 day started documenting the act.

It was wrong but became a disastrous withdrawal of US troops resulting in the loss of life force of our US troops, but also I read this catastrophe inside Afghanistan continues on to this day, persecution of religious minorities like Christians but also the treatment of women.

I this this I give the league of the Afghan government. The, the Afghan military innocents giving up arms as they were unwilling or just unable to fight the Taliban and the four and everything. The key with salt.

My brother Logan was has been seeing that with lot of unique individuals with different points of view so you can see a little bit to this today Logan because this is available for people to watch in the long format right were tradeshow today is a mix of who was there.

It's people like Mike Pompeo, Rick Nelson people use toner broadcast but also Tulsa Gabbard, Mike Walt's John Ashcroft cubby. This again you do receive some angles and we now know this was foreshadowing pretty disastrous international policy board policy and military decision by the by the administration sober living with right now as we speak.

I encourage you as you see the special broadcasting to support the work of the ACLJ.

This shows more Barbara Orval were able to put together. We have access to working ACLJ.org double the impact of your donation. This entire month of March, a group of notice the match every donation. It comes in through the month of March 20 dollars donation like 40 is like 100 ACLJ.org donate today. If you are financially able to ACLJ that will be right back. The American Center for Law and solutions at home and abroad. Whether it's defending religious freedom to those for their faith covering corruption in the Washington bureaucracy fighting to protect the court seen in Congress.

ACLJ for that way comes $20, $50 gift becomes 100 constitutional and only one. A society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice is, is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying when you stay in the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life. We've created a free powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn is called mission will show you how you are personally sealed here means to the many ways your membership powering the right/enjoy my former US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley master Haley served her home state of South Carolina as a congresswoman for six years then governor for another six years before she was named UN ambassador by Pres. Trump for two years. Haley represented the United States on the world stage in his extensive knowledge of international policy and conflict during her tenure in the UN.

She stood up to nations that sponsor or endorse, terrorism, human rights violations, such as Iran, Syria and North Korea master Haley is also been a fervent supporter of the state of Israel September 30, 2021. We are joined today by US ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley and master Haley. It's great to talk to you today.

I think for taking time but this whole experiment during the last month. This series has been on everything that happened in Afghanistan sleep really talk about the UN really talking a lot about what's happening you a budget would go back just a little bit because for that you are governor of South Carolina. You are involved in politics locally when you see these images in your autograph you meet people in South Carolina who are not necessarily just Washingtonians in our daily politics see these images coming out of Afghanistan last month was your reaction to that some of these obscene, heartbreaking, horrifying images and what is it like God for the people that the interact with Terry state I watched units deployed to Afghanistan. I had Mallon has been deployed until I know the sacrifices that so many military men had made their family and then to watch many errors on talent and driving our vehicles holding a hard time and wearing our forms. All mom making fun of American is just it's painful to anyone whose adversary and the idea that we lack billion dollars worth of ammunition and equipment. The idea we are per se, but not without partners.

The one Intel that was so important to me. It was now the turn around and say stand when all his general intent said that we all know when the Taliban took over. They released all the Al Qaeda prisoners presents for him to say we were marginally many Americans behind, and literally he put his military against the moral code. You never leave American or whether he claimed military. Any person who ever served Italian military could never do it might, but they needed leadership to tell them what to do and where to do it and so it's just an embarrassment on the way around.

When you look at it from the UN perspective someone who's been there yourself. We saw the world leaders address the UN just recently present by gave his first address the UN practically better than anyone, and I'm just curious, contrasting what you seen in the what you experienced in the previous administration just contrast that a bit to me. Tell me what that what that feels like to someone who's been there and I told him I when I saw my first time I was truly and I know how this country think I know what to expect and I Pres. Trump and all that served him right. We made sure that the world knew what America was for and what we were again we care, but we want to understand already UN ambassadors very much wanted America to lean they want us to lead. They'd rather follow the United States and China Russia and their not mention China not talk about the new terrorist threat, not collapsing the right pieces that were happening that is why I like you that China not knowledge and say anything about it were so many.

This was the outskirts of the calendar I knew and said you know we all watch to see me and it's just horrible. I wanted to get to certain their adversaries are China, Russia will get a minute here. Let's talk about that our allies who have relied on the US for a lot of people say maybe too much will rely on the US for what they need are now seeing the imagery or seeing the verbiage coming out of the President's mouth and there is a deep concern.

It seems from even from our allies that the United States may not be the future strong voice that it's been and combat that amazing nations.

No one wanted to meet the US was in the room, meeting needs to be coming back how far we thought dangerous, and there's a lot of repairs that need to be made and the last countries don't want no making holiday don't want to wonder what you're thinking is trying to tell me they need to become less dependent on the US, not less dependent on China shocking Russia for help in dealing with, which is I'm thinkable no plans on going counter carrot and stick by and say we should not acknowledge the Taliban as they had an Afghanistan government and was a prime opportunity for the US to lead the charge. We can't give them a week anyway recognize them and he missed the mark, bring back her bill back better America's back coming from my mistress, and great words to say verbally but then you see the mayor to the vicinity when you see the thief fumbled horrible withdrawal of Afghanistan.

Those two things can't exist that can't be the narrative. You can't have one and the other words can get through the first action, and action. There's been wrong action and so on world and all of our allies. How quickly we folded may know we left her know that we left Americans goes against anything that they now and so where do we go from here. It's not just it's what we do about one thing, and I think it went well. When any agreement with the US, Australia and the UK to start allowing submarines for Australia making counter China we need to be doing more.

We need to get together with my Australia and make sure that were finding out ways that we can all counter China we can all work we start talking okay this is what we need to do and how we need to do it.

My tax-and-spend policy that doesn't address address right average families are going through because inflation is taken and it's just really wondering where's the leadership in China and Russia brought into this conversation. Maybe more than even I anticipated with Afghanistan when withdrawal was happening without somewhere saying situations and unfolded with using Russian military bases or error any of China's interest we talk now about our allies what about our adversaries brought into this conversation and we know they both want major influence so what do we do when we just abandon this region. You can make a major move for bongo map or state mineral for a long time fans already and they want to work with China. I think you're looking is turn on the TV or open up your utility bills, natural Russia just gave in hard string to which gives them all the money and power and makes our European allies and more vulnerable and dependent on Russia so I mean I think it Russia. The last time the pipeline processing plant. I dealt with Russia not to know. That was Russia's way and not hurting America. It was their way of testing and wanted to know how and literally nothing which allowed China and Russia, Iran, North Korea, all do realize that that is the cheapest form of warfare here now see further and further, that are more and more serious because buying has shown he cannot hold anyone accountable for your time here because this is a really critical monthly ACLJ will be launching the new year. This the first month of March. It's a matching challenge month is when here's more often we don't do a lot are broadcast. But these months it is important because the ACLJ of course is a 501(c)(3) organization. We exist because of your financial support. This broadcast all of our attorneys.

If we are again represent the heritage foundation in the fight against the lawyer vaccine madebecause of your financial partner matching challenge and ACLJ.org only one. A society can vulnerable voice.

Is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying; just as powerful publication offering you the ACLJ's travel for the unborn is called Jesus many ways your membership right/considerable issues at home and abroad defending religious freedom. Those covering corruption in Washington fighting to protect the courts and in Congress ACLJ for that way comes 2100 constitutional and ACLJ Senior advisor for national security and foreign policy, US ambassador to Germany formerly served as acting director of national intelligence under Pres. from serving US at the United Nations under Pres. George W. Bush and holds the record as the longest-serving US spokesman history now possesses extensive knowledge of foreign policy and national security. Last summer we were all talking record discussing. We kept saying on the air. No one talk about Isis.

No one is talking about what's going on the Middle East. Israel relatively quiet. All of these situations relatively quiet.

It wasn't even really a topic in the political debate in the political sphere. We kept telling people just wait because this seemed like it was sad to say just seem to be the inevitable and you look at the 20 year war in Afghanistan. Obviously something to speak to our servicemen, our troops 20 years there of of successes at least 10 basic 10 year successes maybe 10 years too long tenure successes people there for a reason and all fought for their life away for a reason, but unfortunately a lot of people do judge this by the end like a movie can be great until the last thing that the last thing they blow it you don't over think that is a good move. You're going to be like that was horrible. I'm afraid that many ways to someone who, like you, who was involved in very early stages of this people look back and just remember the ending when so many people did give up their lives to not only protect American interests, but to at least do their best. What their mission was at the time is a good analogy and to keep to that analogy I would say let's let's not focus on the end of the movie. I think that there are so many redeeming characters in this in this movie and what I would say to every single man and woman who fought in Afghanistan you one for us. You. You gave us the victory and that victory was stopping terrorism from coming into the United States. That was their goal. They were sent there to make sure that there wouldn't be a safe haven in Afghanistan so that the terrorists would never be able to do another 9/11, they wouldn't be able to come at us took the fight over there instead of having the fight in the American military won that battle. They did everything right at great cost, incredible sacrifices, limbs and lives.

And I think that what we have to remember is that it was the politicians at the end that messed up the politicians who decided to keep our men and women there and to change the goal. The goal was no longer just about fighting the immediate threat to US national security but it was suddenly trying to get little girls to go to school: importing democracy all noble goals, but I would say that's not what American men and women in the US military should be doing the State Department was sidelined. USAID was sidelined. We have to think through these issues more strategically and figure out what part of the US government should be involved with a whole huge mission at the United Nations. Maybe it the US at the UN should be much more involved in getting the UN to do it. Now we know that the UN does not function in Lester's US leadership, but maybe we adjust our goals and we we only include the international community and say let's do the best we can, but at the end of the day.

I think just focusing on little girls going to school in Afghanistan. Having the US military. There is not enough because little girls in the Congo can go to school where do we stop, we have to have some sort of rules for engagement of US military men and women on the ground with guns trying to enforce something and I think that we have to drop back and remember that the goal is just to have US national security not threatened. I think it's interesting point to start winding down here with direct and one thing before we we had no one talk to your pastor to Germany UN dealt with our allies were single outcry from our allies were saying response from MPs and UK were saying a response from France and from other countries are saying this is not how would you handle it. And also we need to not return to the US now to help solve our problems somewhat. You watch that go well. This country should be operating independently and yeah it is.

It is their own country were about, but you also worry about the strength of America worry about the superpower kind of concept we build here if they've lost hope how we lost our allies in these kind of situations when they see how horrible we we handle this this big ending is such a big important thoughtful question.

We could do a whole segment on the allies have done in an groundwork laid. I hope that our allies are able to be thoughtful about their role in all of this in the last 20 years. Because let's be let's be honest, our allies all have a country first foreign policy and domestic policy in Germany where I know it well. They have a Germany first policy now. They mock America for having an America first policy, but every country around the world has the their own country first as a motto where the only country that gets in trouble for actually articulating the America first policy when Donald Trump was asking other countries to step up and do more and remember the America first policy is also allies doing more NATO doing more meeting their obligations. We got a big push back from many allies who didn't want to do more who are very comfortable with America doing the most in leading the way.

Many I can tell you I spent eight years at the UN. Many of the world's problems are brought to the UN and the UN sits around and waits for the United States to come up with a plan and then they critique the plan they say why this isn't good. And then when we finally settle on something they say America should pay for and so this is not something where the allies should escape their own process to say what went wrong and what could we have done wrong. I'll finish by saying that many allies really wanted Donald Trump out and Joe Biden in because they wanted a softer America. They wanted America that would govern by consensus and allow them to be participating in these decisions while they got that they got a leader who doesn't put America first and clearly we've seen in Afghanistan disaster. Now, many of our allies are saying this is terrible what what can happen.

Can we do differently and I would say they need to look long and hard at why an America first leader like Donald Trump is better for them and I think that's the challenge of our diplomats when we talk about America first we go out around the world to represent America. First, there is a way to tell other countries why America first is better for them especially for NATO allies were part of our commitment to keeping Western values strong, they have to remember that an America first helps protect them, it means greater capitalism for everybody. A more solid human rights record. For those who want to follow America first agenda and it certainly makes the world a safer place.
