Senator Joe Manchin (WV) has caved. Senate Majority Leader Schumer is clear to move forward in the Federal takeover of elections. H.R. 1 (the For the People Act) strikes at the heart of American democracy and will only serve to magnify everything that went wrong in the 2020 election. Sen. Manchin has just proposed a new bill that encompasses the worst aspects of H.R. 1. Jay and the rest of the Sekulow team discuss the latest on this developing story in the Senate. We are also joined ACLJ Senior Counsel for Global Affairs, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. In addition, we are unearthing potential new IRS targeting of conservatives. Jay Sekulow breaking new center mansion caves the Senate to move forward with federal takeover of elections live from Washington DC sexual live phone lines open for your questions right now called 1-800-684-3110 ML chief counsel for the considerable morning just secular. Well, I don't want to say we tell you but we told you this was coming and that is the filibuster rule which is key to the Senate HR one is being debated. The problem with the Democrats have as little of enough votes to get it through the filibuster. This would federalize totally federalize all of the state elections, I mean would get the control to the states and in the federal get to the federal government in a way we never anticipated our founding, including redistricting, which is always been a state activity.

So ask yourself this question, what's going on here what here's what's going on Sen. Joe mansion from West Virginia Democrat often said you know you caucuses were both parties is that I do. I'm not a firm I do not want to remove the filibuster until the pressure got so great that is already made a compromise bill to HR one, but will go through the particulars that it really doesn't change much and also he's ready to compromise on the filibuster. Let me go right then been in Washington DC. Let's start with the filibuster filibuster is currently 60 you can get something for the Senate without 60 boats mansion is saying all up at the 55 and he seemed to drop to 55.

After just a matter of two weeks ago J, writing an op-ed saying that he was opposed to any change in the filibuster. By the way J that was the same op-ed in which he said this, he said, I believe the partisan voting legislation will destroy the already weakening binds our democracy and for that reason I will vote against the for the people. Act now J is proposing a version of voting legislation that lists all of the provisions out of the for the people lack drop them in the new bill gives it a new name. And lo and behold Joe mansion is for it. So in that same op-ed when he said, as opposed to the filibuster.

You believe in because I don't know.

I not only do I not get into this in great detail and excitement but they're talking about changing the iris tax-exempt registration rules allow examinations take place, and by the way, the new regime is in town in Washington because we already have a from a friend of ours got sent this morning from Kelly Shackelford from Liberty Institute. We have a federal consent decree against the government on this targeting of conservative organizations you believe this one. They haven't done in four years. Of course Chris was a consent decree but now they're trying to buy legislation any under the consent decree yes return by their treasury regulations put in place, saying that if you educate believers on national issues central to the relief in the Bible is the inerrant word of God you educate Christians on what the Bible says in areas where they can be instrumental, including the areas of sanctity of life. The definition of marriage, biblical justice, freedom of speech, defense borders, immigration, US and Israel quote. This disqualifies you from exemption under IRS section 501 ways and rely redo their glossary of descriptive terms because it's unreal, but also let me go to West Smith is legally trained.

Also in this Mina darkroom and I states Army. This is a federal takeover of the election process and also impacting nonprofit absolutely and you look at HR one to sell a taking over of elections and this IRS issue. Your J1 of the one of my most favorite books, whichever wrote it was a very alarming book is a book called undemocratic. I encourage people to read it again because what were looking at with HR one and this new issue with the IRS that could come back up is a bureaucracy numerous bureaucracies at the federal level, unelected people, unelected officials who actually will impact and control the lives of every American on a deeply personal private way, and I think I think you're right. I mean her traits and invasive approaches to government invading in areas where they said by the weight very recently when I could do that anymore and then four years later and there's a new President. Guess what happened back in talk a lot about that. We have a special that we did on about the IRS and thought about that we come back from the break as well. Take your calls. 800-684-3110 micron fails and enjoys in the third segment is got a piece up at ACLJ.on the whole issue of HR once when one talk about that again will take your calls, one 800 684 30 went on lycée. Also thank you to our ACLJ members are generosity dispersed five months of the year have been six months now. Incredible. I just want say thank you supported ACLJ that were makes all the difference. We could do without you, and you made it happen. ACLJ.org will be back with more including your calls, 1-800-684-3110 challenges facing Americans for substantial time in our Valley freedom sword constitutional rights are under attack more important than ever to stay with the American Center for Law and Justice for decades ACLJ has been on the frontlines projecting your freedoms defending your rights and courts in Congress and in the public arena and we have an exceptional track record of success.

But here's the bottom line we could not do more work without your support, we remain committed to protecting your religious and constitutional freedoms. Van remains our top priority, especially now during these challenging times. The American Center for Law and Justice is on your side, you're already a member. Thank you Knox well this is the perfect time to stand with us ACLJ God will where you can learn more about her life changing become a member today ACL only when a society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice is, is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying when you stand with the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life, we've created a free powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn is called mission will show you how you are personally publication includes a look at all major ACLJ cases were fighting for the rights of pro-life activists.

The ramifications of Roe V Wade, 40 years later Planned Parenthood's role in the Obama care means to discover many ways your membership is empowering the right question free copy of mission life today online ACLJ/said a month ago how divisive HR one is in it the wrong time for divisive legislation limits exquisite release device divisive. It is a federal takeover of the election system by the federal government. When that bike statute and by constitution is granted to the states. That's number one. That's what he said that he's a moderate right is the moderate up in West Virginia. He says he is now open to supporting a compromise bill over the compromise bill in a moment. What's also interesting about this he said you should not pass any type of bill about a bill in the most divisive time in our life, unless you have some unity on this thing because you'll just abide the country. Further, that sounds great except he also then says in the same sentence. And by the way I want to take the ump in favor of reducing the filibuster rule from 60 to 55 which is would be a historic change. I call it the slippery slope now what is going on here and that is a 2022 election, so there also targeting. Guess what nonprofit groups why they targeting nonprofit groups because we got a consent decree from the Internal Revenue Service after going to court when a targeted pro-life conservative tea party organizations.

We got a federal permanent injunction consented to by the United States government approval record for years.

There's a copy of it on the screen that says they cannot do exactly what they are now doing.

But, but, by the way, both in practice and they want to do by statute, so let me show you something or tell you something. There is a group called Christians engaged there and I believe it's Texas anyways. My friend Kelly Shackelford's bill is for the many time runs Liberty Institute great organization sent this over to us to look at. They got a letter from the IRS denying their clients tax-exempt status. But the first thing they have is a legend in the legend has understood some of them see people's taxes and will say the names depots Republican G promise keepers M the word of God. So then they deny the tax-exempt status of the organization. Let me read you.

Why you are likely in order here is what says you are like the organization described in American campaign Academy which byways a completely different case and nothing to do with this example, you educate believers on national issues that are central to their belief in the Bible as the inerrant word of God.

Specifically, you educate Christians what the Bible says in areas where there can be instrumental, including the areas of science be like definition of marriage, biblical justice, freedom of speech, defense ordered immigration US and Israel relations. The Bible teachings are typically affiliated with the D party and candidates over that in a minute. This disqualifies you from exemption under 501(c)(3) the D party now most of us would think D party any was the Democrats and that's what I've always thought But in this light, just in this letter that this ain't the head of tax-exempt actually wrote on an agent. The D equals Republican. Did they think were stupid and I don't like using that word.

But did they think we have no clue what they're doing here that let me read you something else. The IRS acknowledges that the First Amendment generally prohibits the government from discriminating against citizens on the basis of the viewpoints of their protected speech in their protected associational interests.

The iron IRS admits that it's treatments of the plaintiff during the tax exempt determination process including screening their names based on their names, policies, positions, subjecting those applications to heightened scrutiny and delay in demanding some of the information determined that was determined is unnecessary.

Was wrong for such treatment, the IRS expresses sincere apology but that's part of a consent order by a federal judge now HR one ties right into the because it wants to get rid of the learner will what was learned the predecessor to the individual that signed this latest letter and I look at this and the way they phrased it and the utilization of that symbolic that the symbols meaning the demons Republican, that means you means op note means down Mrs. such sleight-of-hand. I mean it is it's it's the sleight-of-hand that isn't going to work because we can read and we can understand very clearly the English language as it was taught to us when you say D equals Republican and then you slip in the and make it think the Democratic Party were not idiots. We can understand that and I think we've got a consent order entered by Judge Walton in a case against the United States of America and the Internal Revenue Service that clearly protects us and I hope that those who oppose this because I understand an appeal is being taken by Kelly Shackelford's organization to the IRS for an appeal process in the eyes of the intake that if they got to go to court, but they should just take out a consent to grandma talk to Kelly take out a consent decree in years. I would use that. I mean yeah you got exhaust administrative remedies, which means you gotta go through the IRS, but then after that I would simply file a lawsuit against them and I would cite this consent degree as exhibit number one and over with and point them to the health of those pages and it's done something on this part and I look at this twice. It's so un-American to make. I think about your service in the military or colleagues.

Defending freedom defending liberty than to see the government do this has to be discouraging to you, absolutely is discouraging and it such a violation it discriminates against people of faith, you know, we are protected by the Constitution about concerning the free exercise of religion as well as freedom of speech and they are going about it in the very scepter. Seven. Your secret sort of way. Surreptitious way to try and violate everyone's religion, freedom of association and freedom of speech and are not doing it aboveboard. They're trying to do basically sneak it in supposing that were not looking so here's what it says fan mansion provision would curtail a rewrite or eliminate many aspects of the existing bill but this is what he says. He calls for changes to a section of the bill that would create nonpartisan commissions to redraw congressional maps and mansion instead proposed the use of computer models to prevent partisan gerrymandering, but there's called a legislative process and the states that determine this. It's a federal takeover of redistricting and what he may be slightly tweak tweak the mechanism of Y which would be accomplished, but it still moves the authority from the states to the federal government NJ on the point of the IRS targeting a look when Lois Lerner tried that she called her to be on the lookout list we have course defeated that but that targeting effort Jade the one of the results from that. As you know, was a statutory change were the IRS had a what is known as the lowest learner role, you cannot do this anymore J when I look at this letter that you just read in this legend at the top what is this this is a be on the lookout list. This is a legend, a list of terms that the IRS is looking for so I would say that that's probably a violation of statutory laws well but J1 of that one of the provisions of S1 HR one. What is a do repeals that lowest learner role, so I figure out anyhow you repeal a consent order that's been issued by a judge in separation of powers and you can come in as a consent order that was issued by Judge the and litigation. Okay, United States of America.

The defendant, the IRS agreed to it. We agreed to it on behalf of score plaintiff that are not many know that we had lynch pins of liberty was than that was the name lead plaintiff in the case.

We've done that we will rely on that, we relied on the good faith of the government to do what they promised that they were going to do and indeed what they were ordered by the court to do something else I noticed in the thing that you read J from this guy Martin who was the new lowest learner.

The IRS did you notice when you read that thing that Bible is not capitalized. I did know they just have a small B again, kicking us and just putting us little little knives in here and there to reduce the impact on the importance of Christianity on our lives.

Here's what's so obnoxious about this is what you mansion set a good voting bill basically protects the voters protects the states and states rights as well.

That's exactly the opposite. The biggest thing that states rights have is determining congressional district legislative districts he say nowhere to turn over to a computer and federalize it. What about the legislative process in the states. Think about that one for a moment what would possess him to think he could do that all pressure Wes coming in from the Democrats, including the hard left yes and he is caving into this pressure and I am profoundly disappointed in Sen. mansion. What is the most sacred and important aspect of about about your representative of the Democratic Republic is the right of the people to vote and choose their own representatives anything this significant needs to be overwhelming bipartisan plus the federal government at that level of government is echelons above individuals. Resource representation goes as opposed to a state and yet many states like my home state of Georgia. They even delegate your voting down to the county us were some policies go so at the county level as I go in and vote for my representatives. That is very close to where I live. Those people live among me what there's proposing to do is taking something that normally is controlled by the state or by the individual, community, and moving all of it to a bureaucracy in Washington DC that we do not choose that we do not elect to take storage currently on a manager but is quick go at start up earlier that lettering 55 Democrats at 55 but it I don't think so.

Yet fan but my fear is 55 becomes 50. I mean you will say 55 and they will tell. They won't do.

It's all go to 50 MM I'm afraid of the slippery slope near hundred percent correct engineer 55 votes for this know they don't. But if you lowered from 60 to 55 if that rationale is satisfactory to Joe mansion.

Why wouldn't another five votes be okay. And of course if he's on board of Kirsten cinemas on board and have the voter vice President that your 50+ the tie-breaking vote right there. J this is really seriously joined by Mike Pompeo, former secretary state coming up and go over some of this with him because he's written article is up on ACLJ.org. You need to read it and it goes into this.

We got a lot more to cover. We've just begun. I can't believe the first two segments exonerate with taking your calls at 800-684-3110, 1-800-684-3110 question for my pump it with a little money about that. My pump is to enforce existing accounts of the ACLJ will be back with more dismal only when a society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice.

Is there any hope for that culture to survive.

The ramifications of Roe V Wade, 40 years later Planned Parenthood's role in the abortion industry and what Obama care means to discover the many ways your membership is powering the right question for copy of mission in life today online ACLJ/challenges facing Americans are substantial time and are now free to sort constitutional rights are under attack more important than ever to stay with the American Center for Law and Justice for decades now ACLJ on the frontlines injecting your freedoms defending your rights and courts in Congress and in the public arena and we have an exceptional track record of success. But here's the bottom line we could not do more work without your support, we remain committed to protecting your religious and constitutional freedoms and then remains our top priority, especially now during these challenging times. The American Center for Law and Justice is on your side, you're already a member. Thank you thoughts well this is the perfect time to stand with us ACLJ God will where you can learn more about her life changing become a member today ACLJ DirecTV or ACLJ that we displayed your clip from our movie and movie is targeting us. It's at ACLJ films.com or Amazon will play segment about them little bit later in the broadcast was that you hear from our clients on this I join is now in some of the needs no introduction. He's the senior counsel for the ACLJ's global prayer is also former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo Mike, thank you.

You got an article up@aclj.org and its entitled HR one is an assault on democracy in America just been talking about that I miss is a radical rewrite of constitutional norms, especially in elections enormous risk to our article about how America market elections operated very core of what makes a nation so special that the left wants to federalize these in their entirety. They want you and I take our money out of our pocket to transfer them to candidates who we disagree with strongly by subsidizing a matching money campaign. They wanted banned the use of ID just asking folks to identify who they are. They want to go about validating their affected title to vote with America on the basic precepts it states one elections but not the federal government.

This is not only a rewrite of our election process. But a rewrite of the understanding that the bedrock of American 240+ years now. I got Smith Christmas has a question for you, but it's because the way they entitled exacting concern. Also, Joe mansion's move on this but God encouragement go-ahead to your question that they call this sector. Pompeo before the people act, which to me seemed like a bit of a misnomer.

Do you think that's an accurate description of what this bill actually is leading question I might not have a leading question. Yet what they're pretty clever and have it pick up what I think Americans are pretty sharp. I think they get joke on that about the people and think about these elected officials want to protect themselves who want to keep themselves in power who want to centralize power in Washington DC so that enormous bureaucracy that I tried to corral for four years. That bureaucracy has more authority, more capacity and has nothing to do with taking care of the American people are or are anything that is noble and proper that this is about denying liberty and freedom to ordinary Americans by taking away their right to vote in a way that we all come accustomed to over the past 200+ years for the politicians act perhaps maybe I think I think that the more fair description for the people and edit it corrupt and the most in the must be looked at.

The of protecting themselves from having to listen to the American people at its core. I was that covered her for six years at its core.

Your responsibility for listen to learn to take that on board and to try to deliver good outcomes. This provides a barrier to that and protect them from having to actually listen to the people they were elected to represent what you have.

The article itself in ACLJ.org and some that were very concerned with mess left in icing of the IRS, we spent four years litigating the IRS one got a consent decree that they can't do these targeting of conservative groups pro-life groups or Christian groups consent decree issued damages obtained by our clients in this litigation, we did for four years yet.

Just within the last two weeks, Sec. Pompeo, the head of tax exempt a person takes over from Lois Lerner sends a IRS denial of exemption. This is Stephen Mark Martin, director of tax-exempt organizations rolling in agreements and here's what he says in the actual letter. This is what he writes exit exit in early, but it's worth repeating. You educate believers on national issues that are central to their belief in the Bible is the inerrant word of God specifically educate Christians what the Bible says in the areas where they can be instrumental, including the areas of sanctity of life biblical justice during the speech and defense US and Israel met relations. The Bible's teachings are typically affiliated with the D party and candidates. This disqualifies you from exemption under the Internal Revenue Code. The D party which we normally would mean Democrats is defined in the letter as Republican Lois Lerner review part two, but with the letters.

Or maybe not on the right thumb out there is only one part of the inerrancy of our right and hope that I hope that's not the case, I've upgraded to budget F that may well be the case today is every Democrat with that, that's for sure that that's what they did. That's exactly what really is really spiteful and evil and morally corrupt important issue that ACLJ was central to unpacking over the last. Time stopping them from these targeting letters have to go at it hammer and tongs again were organized to get this right. They are headed back down the same tackler.

Conservative groups, Christian groups, those of us who believe our founding principles are going to come under attack from the same Internal Revenue Service but for eight years. They chased around to try to undo this consent decree by the federal government signed by District Court Judge executed by the parties as a settlement, litigation, and they are trying to go around that with this legislation, which is so on believable to me but that's the callous disregard for the law that they're engaged in. Now an economy that a question first entered by Mr. Sec. of the assault on democracy act, HR one, which is really what it is outstrips the authority of the states to draw their own congressional districts and I want to ask you, what does it do to the country when you start fundamentally changing the power structure between the state and federal governments, such as drawn congressional district lines, which is left of the legislature. What is this bill due to that, since it's existed since the founding of the Republic. Yet the federal date and I was thinking of you will you will of God and enormous power in a handful of people inside of Washington DC to determine how our districts are shipped that that that talk about who's going to represent you. Instead of putting it.

A local level will put it at that level and what this is really bad for democracy as our founders understood it, you know, we've always had this problem of the courts having taken the spare power away from the state legislatures where redistricting is clearly given to state elected official will know that our state representatives.

Everybody knows their State Sen. the people we know these are community leaders, those of the people we want to citing these important issues of our city Park County for our state and that somebody who lives in a place far away from us in the last Washington as their power base.

You know, one of the interesting aspects of this is that I think it's a complete realignment of authority to the basically going to the federal government here, and I'm wondering as you look at this and then the agencies you ran this kind of callousness of any court or you know what the rules are the North regulations are just ignore it and these bureaucrats just think they can get away with it after all the scrutiny. All of this is under the Guinness phrase would be courts, but that these people have the nerve they have just flagrantly say what will change the line anyways even though there's a federal consent decree and the other way while the impact that valid data driven.

In terms of the risk that a present to America as unelected, unaccountable, yet living to believe that they have enormous amount of power that they could ignore that only executive decision of the chief of the commander-in-chief, but your point order signed by an article 3 courts pretty outrageous. They are pretty powerful. It it's more than chutzpah. It is any constitutional or actually write my Pompeo.

Of course the secretary state and our senior counsel for global affairs. Thanks as always for your insights and your help on these efforts to send you the placenta, desirous D got a revolving to believe that it's it's unreal. Thanks again for being with my folks are coming up.

We got a lot and I cannot believe the first 30 minutes is gone.

We have got a lot more to unpack on all of this on one thing to give us an analysis of what's actually at stake with HR one and where it's going to take your calls as well. Some of you already holding 1-800-684-3110.

Don't forget to support the work of theaclj@aclj.org and let me also say again, a huge thank you to those of you that are just so encouraged by the amount of support that you are providing to the ACLJ thank you so much. Also, if you want to stay connected with this is a great way to do that all the social media platforms that ACLJ.or or and twitter for some book follows. There will be back with more ACLJ is been on the frontlines protecting your freedoms and rights in court in Congress and in the public arena.

The American Center for Law and Justice is on your side.

If you're already a member. Thank you. If you're not well this is the perfect time to stand with us, ACLJ.org, where you can learn more about her life-changing work, member today ACLJ live from Washington DC and Justice Jay Sekulow headline from Associated Press because I think this kinda sets it all up Associated Press mansion pitches changes to the for the people. Like that's HR one and boating bill and is reportedly no more open to reform of the filibuster rule. This is from the guy who said we have the bite reset. I don't want to change the filibuster will ever get that that will have it because it's important.

Now I'll tell you where the pressures coming from you want to hear the pressures coming from listener Joe mansion number 32, I think that this Stacy seven talking to Stacy and working closely with all the public is trying to get people to understand that that's the bed rock of our democracy and accessible fair and basically secure. That's it and lying on the divided country. It's not about me it's about a country to tell you who is he talking to. He's talking to Stacy Abrams and George and Wes are both Georgia roots IMAP Georgia roots to Stacy and Ms. Debbie can listing all the things you say about her shoes smart because she registered a lot of people in did not violate laws and and and late meant that anybody that is been able to prove and she's aggressive what happened. Now she's got Joe mansion's ear. What is that tell you Andy one that scares me. I got to tell you because Stacy Abrams is left of left shin is powerful and she's very powerful and George, as you said, she registered a lot of voters.

She threw her efforts, and through her campaigning got us off elected to the U.S. Senate.

What's his name more knockouts gives me the other senator elected to the United States Senate beaten incumbent David Perdue fill the slot that that was going to Kelly Loeffler so she is. She's a very powerful figure, but she's left left left of right and we have to realize that if that's who he's talking to, then we're in deep trouble. Wes will she's clever and I don't mean that as a compliment.

She is clever politically. She misrepresents facts she misrepresents her own abilities.

She misrepresented the Georgia voting law. She she is she is clever but not as public boycott Georgia what she was telling how to recut Georgia you absolutely so that kinda tells you up there.

Could you give in two minutes and 30 seconds before the break, can you give an overview to everybody that's listening and explain what this building to do absolutely jamming at its core.

This is a federal takeover of elections and I know that just sounds like a sound Bible you go section by section through this bill. It takes all of the core tenets of an election which traditionally have been state authorities, and it moves the decision-making authority for how to do those elections to the federal government. J everything from early voting, which the federal government would mandate that would mandate the number of days you have to add the early voting hours at which your polling places have to be open by the way, virtually every state does this anyway but they do it in a way that works for their state it would move federal current redistricting of congressional districts to the federal level, it would mandate how voter ID can be done. J Nanette does not say it would mandate that you have to use voter ID it would say when I tell you when and where and how you can do photo ID and by the way work and I tell you what you have to allow as a substitute or whether it's, you know, signature verification, whatever it may be.

It also mandates things like mailing, voting J again.

Some states have done that successfully. This would be the federal government, saying, every state has to do mailing voting.

The way that we want them to do it today. It is a takeover from top to bottom. One thing I would say about Joe mansion here that the headline there that you read said that Joe mansion is pitching changes to the legislation. Let me tell you what changes he pitched.

He pitched a change in the bill number and a pin change from S1 to S. 2093 because I'm holding the list of changes that he requested right here J not they are there direct lifting of the provisions I just talked about from S1 and dropping the man that knew bill that the Senate's units try to vote on next Tuesday so it's it, this is just a slight ahead. That's what that would be things really saying this is really just a slight ahead now. We've heard from Ray for this exact numbers over 600,000. I will what we have with a number 2600 23,248 signature 620,000 you contacted us and defend our inflection integrity wouldn't do that were taking action now washing the take action Congress were to fight hard against this bill. Your support is critical, but ACLJ.org and sign the petition have your voice heard. That's how we beat this back ACLJ.org.

I encourage you to do that today. Again, thank you for supporting the ACL to come and take your calls really get into this we hear from some of our clients have been targeted ACL data challenges facing Americans for substantial time and are now free to start constitutional rights are under attack more important than ever to stay with the American Center for Law and Justice on the frontlines checking your freedoms and rights in court in Congress and in the public and exceptional track record of success. But here's the bottom line we could not do her work without your support, we remain committed to protecting your religious and constitutional freedoms and then remains our top priority, especially now during these challenging times. The American Center for Law and Justice is on your side, you're already a member.

Thank you. Well, this is the perfect time to stand with us ACLJ.org where you can learn more about her life changing, member today ACLJ only one.

A society can agree that the most vulnerable in voice is, is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying the American Center for Law and Justice defend the rights of life, we've created a free powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn Gold edition will show you how you are personally publication includes all major ACLJ were fighting for the rights of pro-life activist ramifications 40 years later, when Obama care means to discover many ways your membership is powering the right question free copy of mission life today online/the Washington Post that this the filibuster is a critical tool to protecting that input and or to make democratic form of government. That's why I've said it before, will say it again to remove any shred of doubt, there is no circumstance in which I will go to eliminate or weaken the filibuster weaken the filibuster.

He's already said I will take it from 60 to 55 on its way down to 50, which means no filibuster, Ralph Warnock, the Democratic senator from Georgia you once you with his pressures coming from on not Joe mansion said this, they told reporters a proposal was a way in which we stay engaged on the issue. He said he was less troubled by mansion supported the voter ID laws, and these terrible partisan political maneuvers by Republican state Mort lawmakers, including Georgia where the GOP has control of the legislature for another one taken of legislature have no control over districting and redistricting, so a complete federal takeover torture, let's go ahead and take Don's calling unlike two from Prague done what the broadcaster on their gentlemen. Personally, I think the federal takeover wouldn't make it through the courts, and I do appreciate LG ACLJ sounding the alarm all the work they do in both regards to HR one S1 12 the filibuster in such a clearly disappointed not to buy the Joe mansion call came the pressure from the left that's what you're looking to see what he's getting real pressure from the left that party and he is caving and when I did and I did just hear.

I believe with sand say that they airdropped or inserted only proposal to do another Senate bill next week. Back in my initial question was, and by the way to Sec. Pompeo coming on during my whole I was.

I was wondering, wondering which one made him cringe more Kemal Harris's performance overseas work Joe Biden but back to the main thing but since it isn't budgetary it could only be pushed through via reconciliation wouldn't still require 60 votes to clear). This is this is the question you raise a great question Don and that is the procedural hurdles that would have to go into including the 60 vote filibuster situation yet depends what what what mechanism they would go through they could use the budget reconciliation process to move something that not all of this is going to be budgetary nature even under a very generous ruling from the Senate parliamentarian so under current Senate rules and precedent of the caller is correct, it takes 60 votes to get this through, but that is unless a Job Joe mansion changes his mind.

You'd J. Let me just give you a timeline here on June 6, June 6, a Joe by Joe mansion wrote in his op-ed that I believe partisan voting legislation will destroy the democracy and for that reason I will vote against the for the people. Act J. 12 days later, June 18. He said this people were assuming that I was against S1 because there was no Republican supporting it, that's not the case at all. J over the course of 12 days. He expects us to believe that we forgot what he wrote in a national op-ed. That said, I will vote against the for the people at 12 days later he says I was never against it. This is this is a course when it was happening. What's happening is the pressure on him is immense, and it cements well. It is the pressure from his own party is something that he cannot overcome. He claims that he can reach across the aisle and work with Republicans.

I don't know if that's true or not but you know Joe mansion is really we have to admitted he is the most most powerful man in the United States that is in the JSC committee really is right now thinking my rose what's going to happen and how the Senate is going to go and this is very disappointing and him to change his mind over a period of time like that from based on pleasure from people likely admitted he was talking to Stacy Abrams right saw me. We need to think about that very deeply. II wonder over take up what's going take Whitney's call from Texas. Go ahead when HR one white accurate but the lack of voter ID, not the letter confirmation like it though territory in the tour at the man's right when people go abroad while PCP plywood around election time people into swing state citizens concerned about people moving into states with the meeting and moving it to the jurisdictions, University of Georgia had faculty members telling students about not incorrect. West that they should, even if there from out-of-state they should change their voting station to Georgia and apparently they did that, and not only that, under mansion's proposal to sort of tweak this if you can call it a tweak is that a voter ID. He is also supposing you could use something like utility bill, which is not ideal. That is not ID and anyone can print can come from anywhere, from any country and get a utility bill for one you can print one on me, but that would also let's get down to the real brass tacks of reality here, which is then what is to happen.

Well, Sen. Schumer. Jay has is done what is called filing cloture on the motion to proceed.

I will get it all. The parliamentarian terms what that means is some time on Tuesday the for United States Senate as they come in and they're gonna take a vote on whether or not to get onto this bill into debate the bill J, ultimately, to invoke cloture to end debate on the bill. You do need 60 votes. As it stands your you ask what will happen. I will tell you right now behind closed doors there to negotiations taking place. The main one is between Sen. Schumer and Sen. mansion about what provisions will end up in this bill right now. It's essentially the text of S1, but did they are negotiating over Joe mansion's list right now and they will continue to airdropped provisions into this bill before Tuesday to try to get Joe mansion's vote.

That's one negotiation. The other negotiation J is what do they need to do to get Joe mansion to abandon the legislative filibuster and to try to get something through with 50 votes plus the vote of the vice President those two negotiations are literally happening as we speak today.

That's why the petition that you referenced is so important. We are taking those names to members of the United States and including Joe mansion. By the way, and saying it's not just the ACLJ that wants you to oppose this is the people that put you into office in Jana state like West Virginia. That's a whole lot of Republicans. Politico says GOP crushes mansion's hopes for election compromise.

Maybe not right now and in the Atlantic, the strange elegance of Joe mansion voter ID deal. So here's what's happening there coalescing around this voter ID issue there coalescing around.

Undoing the rule we want in federal court against the Internal Revenue Service, which again says you cannot target groups. But as I said in the first half-hour. We have a letter where a group is been denied tax-exempt status because of the Bible. This is dated May 18 and it is literally, they say that in here, for example, you educate believers on national issues that are central to their belief in the Bible is the inerrant word of God that it's specifically you educate Christians what the Bible saves in various areas including the United States, and of course is really quick, put that bad up with that in all the Bible teachings are typically affiliated with the tea party and candidates in the departed. In this case equals Democrat, you know, because when I first recognize how deep I said what something is wrong and then our producer will Haynes pointed me to the legend and Eagles Republicans like units of sleight-of-hand and they think that in the Fullerton juncos into believing that what they're doing is meets the standards of the of the law will look we got a consent degree. Here it is. It says very clearly that you cannot discriminate a just and 910 11 just acknowledge the fact that the First Amendment generally prohibits the government from discriminating against citizens on the basis of the viewpoints of their protected speech and their protected associational interest signed by an article 3 judge the IRS to just do away with that because I don't believe in separation of powers. And yeah, the Constitution, you know, forget it. It's been in shreds right so here's the here's the here's the issue, folks, and that is taking action and we want you to take actions that then I want to reiterate some porn exactly what were going to do here and then of course we hope you will, not get information to Kelly and make sure Kelly Sheppard has all of our information on that case, let's talk about this legislation was bigger than a an individual case that affects everybody. What is our best course of action here. How do we take action on this will take action directly in the United States Senate. Let me tell you what our message will be and let me tell you how people can help us with it our message to the United States Senate is that the 20/20 pandemic style election that we saw that there were sort of a one-size-fits-all approach applied. That would be made permanent.

Under this piece of legislation J and that's really a best case scenario, because once the authority resides at the federal government. If you think things are going to get even more restricted height more mandates coming down the line you know that I got a bridge to sell you 2020 would be the high water mark as far as elections being conducted.

Now what do we do about it. We are asking our ACLJ members to sign a petition which, like you said more than 600,000 people have already signed we will take those names to the United States senators and show them their voters who do not want this legislation to move. They were on a tight timeline Tuesday is good to be the first vote in the United States Senate. There will be parliamentarian moves beyond that. But Tuesday is the first critical vote were to be communicating with U.S. Senate offices every day between now and then I said early was to serve the nine states military defended our country or countries integrity and constitutions has to make you very upset. It absolutely does it disregard article 1 section for the Constitution disregards the rights of the people disregards the authority of the states and local communities as part of that inside the Beltway mentality. This is we know best and remember those words were the most fearful words with scary words in English language from the government and I'm here to help you, not the truth, not because generally look what Loki was shocked that this is elections and consequent we are near the consequences.

I would come back we take your calls and comments given a Facebook periscope or the other way watching or call us at 800-684-3110 only one. A society can agree most vulnerable invoice is, is there any hope for that culture to survive.

And that's exactly what you are saying the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life. Well, this is the perfect time to stand with us ACLJ.where you can learn more about her life changing, member today ACLJ HR one, which is to completely revolutionize the way in which election laws are administered and federalize it. No great shock there. But there's another thing that should not come as a shock to anyone about his Joe mansion is compromising, even though he said he wasn't going to know shock there because that's exactly what is happened. Unfortunately it's happening with your voting rights in our voting rights or countries voting rights at stake and then again plowing the IRS to target individuals all it's all in that bill. It's all there saying already sought this group I was promoting the Bible as a learning tool for their educational project in the IRS denied their exempt status and said because the those issues of the Bible.

The little B of courses and he said all lines up with the party subpoenaed me Democrat party this time typing that would be offensive Democrats, who by the way, but also the here happened the evil Republican in their little glossary of abbreviations they just spell it out because her play cute but this is not the first go around with this. We had been there before and I want you to listen to. This is very important.

We have clients that have experienced this firsthand.

We went to court and one, here's the story. The IRS has finally released a list of political group. #9, I received this letter with a bunch of questions we all knew immediately that point I knew I was a target tea party group say they are being targeted by the Internal Revenue Service and their enlisting the aid of the American Center for Law and Justice I'll never forget when Jason got back to me taking care of this outline of the world was off my shoulders this letter.

Why would you say tea party cases were very dangerous. The IRS started targeting tea party groups. More than three years ago.

Never before has the federal government tried to muzzle everyday Americans solely because of their political view UNIX. This kind of intimidation, something that no one could believe her government was even capable of doing way too much power and no accountability. They got caught caught worth to preserve our fighting states of America. At this point. 3 1/2 years of litigation. To get there.

Our team did a fantastic job of litigating this in the end result is not only an announcement of the wrongdoing but also a complete change of policies. My nine you goes out. She is my dad did in the future our case and that's not to take five years. Take five minutes they stood up for us wasn't just the knowledge base and experience was the only online American Center on just PC LG work supported BAC ACLJ is a reason we were able to win the case in federal court after three years of litigation got a tremendous consent decree against the federal government but to go to each one of the art are experts here and start with and that is now under threat by HR one and under threat by Joe mansion's maneuver right in black and white right in the text of the legislation, J. One of the most significant things in addition to the consent decree.

Did you been talking about that came out of a decade. Those cases that they we just play the video about was a statutory prohibition on the IRS using was called be on the lookout list targeting conservatives based on specific keywords that were more conservative in nature J and you been talking about this this whole show.

But this new legend at the top of this letter that you're talking about.

This is a be on the lookout list. Make no mistake about it, I don't. I don't know necessarily what the IRS it is is calling it but this is they be on the lookout list that was prohibited in 2018 and a piece of legislation signed into law by Pres. Trump. This is a violation of that J in this bill that were talking about today HR one S1 the for the people. Act now with the new bill number S. 2093 that Bill says that that statutory prohibition is repealed. J that's what's at stake inside this piece of legislation. So let's take Terry's call number and go get everybody's comments on the scary go ahead okay you have to turn your phone off turn your radio off and then will go back to winter when were arts greater. Those are clear, but Andy they are trying to undo through legislation. What we have one court which raises a series constitutional issue when it does I'm a lawyer, that's what I do for a living. I have been a lawyer for 46 years. I know what a consent degree means they wanted signed by United States District Judge, and here's what Judge Walton said when we settled the case between the Internal Revenue Service and our clients linchpins for liberty and others. The court hereby declares that any action or inaction taken by the IRS must be applied evenhandedly and not based solely on a tax-exempt applicant's or entity's name political viewpoint or associations or perceived associations with a particular political mu movement, position, or viewpoint, and here's a very important United States tax code cannot be applied to invoking disparate treatment solely on a taxpayer's name or any unlawful position, lawful position, the taxpayer espouses his associations or association with a political movement to do so is quote on lawful so they'll they said the Bible teaches this. It supports Israel.

The Bible teaches biblical justice.

The Bible teaches religious liberty, or you teach religious liberty by both a little B not capitalize. This is what you get for those reasons and in the in the deep party which I was the mean Republican here ends up equaling tax exemption denied. So I would go to Wes on this because I said this before. This is to look at HR one and what they're trying to do because of corporate CRS changes to this bill is massively dangerous.

Absolutely what it is doing that part of the bill is really weapon rising, the IRS, but is also the whole bill is perverting voter integrity.

It is not for the people. It is against the people and against individual freedoms. I just stand my concern here. Let's take Terry's call she's ready and then will all get up and respond. Go ahead and call Holly from Wyoming.

I've been wondering about the bill first called HR one. Why not being pushed back and being an amendment to the one of the challenges if it passes will be that this cannot be done legislatively that that's unconstitutional, which means we take a constitutional amendment to do that. But the question first to stand.

Does this pass. I don't know yet.

J having a lot of that depends on center mansion and if he is willing to got the legislative filibuster and if he is willing to go along with the for the people act, which now we have to say that he is because his proposal is in fact that JA could pass. I think I agree with you I would defer to you. Of course, in the constitutional analysis that would be one of the challenges that would may be made that I can.

I can tell you why they're not taking that approach is because they don't have the votes for a constitutional minute. The only thing that you vote for is to try to amend it out statutorily.

This is an extraconstitutional act. Since filing of the Constitution. I can read the Constitution.

Wes is pointed out the section and then paragraph. You cannot take away the ride from the states to determine elections and to federalize and we don't want to do that right. You can do it under the Constitution that's been law since the 18th century needs to remain folks your support of the American Center for Law and justice@aclj.org allows all of this to happen.
