Jay Sekulow why IRS scandal of the suture talk about that more taken from calls live from Washington DC questions right now called one 806 843-110-1800 68412, your host started over seven years span of representing clients targeted by the IRS, the ACLJ represented more than 41 tea party and conservative groups for more than 22 states sound familiar to overdo it with his parents right now so familiar with how we've been fighting the deep state. This was the first shot fired back at the deep state was fired by the American Center for Law and Justice. It's the biggest agency to deal with that is the Internal Revenue Service. That's right, the most feared well it used to be the most feared until the Washington Post said because what we did to it. The ACLJ it was gutted and it still is to this day. So from April 2010 to May 2013. Our clients received hundred and 17 targeting letters from IRS officials. These questionnaires demanded that our client set aside their constitutional rights at the request of government bureaucracy.

18 of those letters of course were signed by Lois Lerner herself.

40 2C to 28 of our clients after May 2012.

The IRS claims their discriminatory heightened scrutiny had ended so they were still doing it.

They asked about things like prayers.

They asked for donor list.

They asked for text of speeches. These were both 501(c)(3) 501(c) for groups and subgroups who just because they had the name of liberty in their title got caught up in this targeting scheme by the top officials at the IRS, we exposed how Lois Lerner really wanted to move from the bureaucracy into the Obama administration and dad. We had the FBI try to get involved with our client yells because the what happened was the FBI was notified be because of Lois Lerner, Lois Lerner said let's get the FBI and the FTC involved with this we can just bring one criminal case. We have all these letters and we got all this from FOIA and from our litigation if we can get one criminal case against when the tea party group.

Their influence that was a position that was being advocated at that point by the Department of treasury.

The Internal Revenue Service now. What's also interesting there is that we did a frontal attack on this. We went to federal court seeking injunctive relief, monetary damages, and so forth. Not here's what's so interesting about the fact that the IRS finally after years of litigation conceded there corrected the policies implemented new procedures consented to an injunction tells you how serious this really what was wrongdoing at the highest highest level of the Internal Revenue Service and the ACLJ got to the bottom of why my talking about that today because it's whether it's the IRS or what's been going on with Flynn or the unmasking we have been involved in the wind and the leaders in these issues for decades. Yes this came to a close, not that long ago but you might you need a reminder's December 2017 when we posted on ACLJ.org that five years ago. No one would've believed that this victory was possible that we are taking on the Obama administration's IRS the most feared bureaucratic agency in federal court over the politically motivated targeting of conservative and tea party groups and by the way, all those bad actors, the IRS are gone now long gone now and are a lawsuit not only prompted the IRS to admit in federal court.

It wrongfully targeted these groups during the Obama administration, but also issued an apology to our clients for doing so. In addition, the IRS consented to a court order prohibiting it from ever engaging in this form of unconstitutional discrimination future or else the IRS admits that targeted the conservative party group based on their viewpoint that we have put together over these years, a documentary that covers all of this. It's available now and ACLJ fields.com for free or if you have Amazon prime. It's free, there's called targeting us. The people's fight against the IRS. This is a timely moment to watch this documentary dictates of both of you want to get feel like you're in the battle get this video watch it ACLJ films.com or Amazon prime targeting us at the American Center for Law and Justice were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad. Whether it's defending religious freedom.

Protecting those for their faith. Uncovering corruption in the Washington bureaucracy and fighting to protect life in the courts and in Congress ACLJ would not be able to do any of this without your support for that. We are grateful.

Now there's an opportunity for you to help me way limited time you can participate in the ACLJ's matching challenge every dollar you donate $10 gift dollar gift becomes 100. This is a critical time for the ACLJ the work we do. Simply would not occur without your generous support.

Take part in our matching challenge today and make a difference in the protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms you forgive today online ACLJ only when a society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice is protected. Is there any hope for that culture to survive.

And that's exactly what you are saying when you stand with the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life, we've created a free and powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn. It's called mission life will show you how you are personally pro-life support and publication includes a look at all major ACLJ pro-life cases were fighting for the rights of pro-life activists. The ramifications of Roe V Wade, 40 years later Planned Parenthood's role in the and what Obama care means to the pro-life discover the many ways your membership abuse you is empowering the right to life question free copy of mission life today online ACL data/Jay Sekulow this Jordan singularity or phone calls to because this really was the beginning of the battle against the deep state was under the Obama administration. So the battle is that much tougher because you didn't have allies at the Department of Justice.

You have allied your fighting the IRS, the FBI try to go after our clients. Sound familiar again and try to after Mike, they still are my Flynn you know as President to try the same tactics they were working together know you remember.

I remember the day Washington DC that we were at our DC office and the FBI wanted to interview some of our clients and we said no we are no longer cooperating with the IRS were going to court right so they're negotiating there was the FBI was a will.

They were interviewing one DVR client because of those any potential wrongdoing. They wanted it can run on site Mike my trust level was zero. At that point I was before all this acted 10 years before I recently met with them.

We didn't let them meet with our clients and we said you know were not doing that we are knocking to participate in this because we think it's a charade they would never tell us exactly what the point was exactly what they were looking at lots and we were not to put our clients in that situation. So what did we do. We went to federal court. You know, we ultimately got to play the soundbite first and that is the Ira started doing this in 2010. Some talk about 10 years ago, and for over two years, the media thought it was just a silly conspiracy. Barry, this is a bunch of right-wingers. They don't know what they're doing but you know what it ended up resulting in this they use names like tea party or patriots and they selected cases, simply because the application had those names in the time that was wrong. The IRS would like to apologize for that first file we said I'll say again that apology was, not accept, we went to federal court to get justice. That's number one number two they they is what Lois Lerner said she said a tax-exempt that you mean you you came up with a be on the lookout list, a bolo list.

So why would bringing it up today because we see the culmination of the last months of all these faux investigations molar in Ukraine and the Russia gate and ends up being nothing what happens each and every time. This is sometimes Congress. Sometimes it's deep state actors. Here's one where it was not until Pres. was to you. That's why we named the film, targeting us, the people's fight against the IRS and it's available ACLJ films.com or Amazon prime and by the way, if you go to ACLJ films.com or on Amazon prime. Look it up to see a lot of movie several movies by the ACLJ, we want to encourage you we do these documentaries watch the divinity bits and pieces of it. I hear bits and pieces of it today, but it is definitely worth watching.

You learn a lot about what's happening you absolutely mean this is something again.

I want to reregister playing that some clips are folks close to what I mean just to get a sense if you're listening you're going to get a sense of of what you will be seeing because this is this is visual to but if you're watching Facebook and periscope as well. We wanted to just come to give you some glimpse into why because again you I go back is like what I was talking to Sean Hannity about his book and and how sometimes you got it. You gotta take the time to retell stories because there's so many facts over such a long period of time. You don't want to forget because you don't what history to repeat itself and and we don't have to continue battling the deep state forever and answered. Take a listen from the new documentary available@acljfilms.com or Amazon prime. It's free targeting us. The people's fight against the IRS and guys make sure I tweet out the link right after the show to the debates to our website so the people you see the film targeting us. The people's fight against the IRS is a first video clip the opening sequence of the film is Y would you say tea party cases were very dangerous, my counsel, I respectfully exercise my Fifth Amendment right and declined to answer that question right in the law are violating our rights. There was some boneheaded decisions on it outside of the last election Nottingham mask assessment was the tip of the iceberg. It was far worse than even we expect the IRS has finally released a list of political groups. Scrutinize something that no one could believe doing weight, no accountability.

Never before has the federal government trying to everyday Americans only political theme that is as long as against Lois Lerner new was coming, and it wasn't going to be pretty fighting American's going to be and is the largest American history. My name is Kevin Wilson and Gary Carol on this and this is called ACLJ film you want know about the deep state action in a real case with the real court got a real result. Then go to ACLJ films.com or Amazon prime targeting us.

The people's fight against the IRS and by the way you support the work of the ACLJ.

Guess what, we get to produce these documentaries were due to documentary on Bronson were working on some of the really great creative content. I can give you the details of it yet but it's something very innovative.

That's it impact your family a very good wax were very excited about that content is important to be ACLJ when you're supporting the ACLJ NACLJ Donald especially number them up like this month-to-month matching challenge campaign your supporting our work in courts around the country was multifaceted that this movie is the perfect example targeting us. The people fight against the artist, the movie was done to educate people about what was going on at the same time, your donations, but was supporting the movie in the production of the movie. Guess what else was happening. We were in federal court, winning the case, which we ultimately did so, that is your case that your support to be ACLJ in action. We had our clients testified before Congress your testify before Kaiser we were again this was.

It was a Kevin new step for the ACLJ because what happened was back in 2012. You start getting all these contacts. These are small groups. Again, I iconic make the comparison will perhaps thing today or help of these churches on California or parrots with the education issues care for law firms, they can afford attorneys to handle these situations. These are small grassroots groups.

Just trying to get their legal status so they could fund raise so they could brick buses so they could get insurance things like click and hold events and do so legally. They voluntarily submitted themselves to the IRS oversight they were trying to break the law and we started getting calls and calls and calls the dozens of of specific tea party groups and other conservative groups. There were being harassed and Ed so that what happened was they weren't being denied they just kept getting more questionnaires and finally, these groups realized with these questionnaires. This is not the normal IRS procedure. This is this is directed us were being targeted looks like, so we better talk to some lawyers, so they got the mayor consider flaw adjusted that we just explained are people where they support the work ACLJ. This was just a load to get to that decision that we read from the IRS to give the consent order say you can never do this again or else it and admitting the wrongdoing rating for satiating their procedures guiding the IRS as the Washington Post called it really change the hope that now people even view the IRS these days, right. It took five years, so I beat it took considerable financial those donations the cub into the ACLJ. This is five years of work representing America go through the list that we have here is a Colorado 912 project, the American patriots against government access San Antonio tea party Shenandoah Valley tea party Patriots Wetumpka tea party. The OKC PIA association with the Richmond tea party Hawaii tea party rock Chester to private this this this goes on for two more pages for five years we represented all the slide out in federal court.

If you think your donations don't matter. Folks, they absolutely do. It is the reason why were able to take down government agencies like the IRS, which we did and why were able to fight so hard against the deep state and really put them under a microscope. What we did.

Because of the work at the IRS, we decided to open up the unit inside the ACLJ. Calder, government affairs unit I'm holding in my hand.

The first of the lesson. The first was most recent report that that committee gives on the freedom of information act litigation or Government accountability Project.

That's just the beginning and I want to tell you something. Your support makes this happen so again use.

Thank you for all of you for standing with us. So whether it is fighting in court on advisor abuse or whether it is litigating for religious freedom here in the United States around the globe standing up for individuals or targeted by the IRS.

Your support of the ACLJ makes all the difference. We have that movie available for you for free ACLJ films.com or on Amazon prime. It's called targeting us people's fight against the IRS, we encourage you to watch it listen to it. Here's more excerpt from her today and it's a good reason to support the ACL data matching challenge campaign yet is to provide you about this kind of work these years long battles in the work you are doing on behalf of Lisa's parents right now were able to do it at no cost and were able to take down government agencies and take hold and account for their wrongdoing but ACLJ that are part of her matching challenge building today tax-deductible will be right back and play more from targeting us only when a society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice is, is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying when you stand with the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life. We've created a free and powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn Gold mission like it will show you how you are personally support the publication includes a look at all major ACLJ pro-life cases were fighting for the rights of pro-life activists.

The ramifications of Roe V Wade, 40 years later Planned Parenthood's role in the end what Obama care means to the pro-life discover the many ways your membership is filtering is empowering the right to life question free copy of mission in life today online/American Center for Law and Justice were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad. Whether it's defending religious freedom. Protecting those who are persecuted for their faith. Uncovering corruption in the Washington bureaucracy fighting to protect life in the courts and in Congress ACLJ would not be able to do any of this without your support for that. We are grateful.

Now there's an opportunity for you to help me way limited time you can participate in the ACLJ's matching challenge every dollar you donate $10 gift dollar gift becomes 100. This is a critical time for the ACLJ the work we do. Simply would not occur without your generous take part in her matching challenge to make a difference in protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms you forgive today online ACLJ paper compares the great numbers that people just reminding themselves about this IRS scandal, how bad it was that what the ACLJ was able to get justice for so many conservative groups and you we got it we represented the 40+ groups who were willing to find out the IRS, but by waiting we really wanted for so many other groups who maybe were little bit afraid of taking on the IRS weren't sure if they wanted to get involved in a legal matter. We see this time.

Time to get the ACLJ were people very gung ho. But first about your filing lawsuits and things like that and then suddenly when you get a file lawsuit. A it's a big deal, even if it doesn't cost you anything. So the victory though isn't just for the 41 clients.

The victory is for every one of those nonprofits out there on both sides of the aisle. They can't be treated like this by the IRS ever again or else they're in serious trouble with the IRS and the IRS admitted to viewpoint discrimination viewpoint targeting, but it all started with these letters and I would play for you so share this with your friends and family Facebook in Paris was a great show to share on Facebook compare script is very visual and is still good for radio to his audio is excellent. This is coming from our documentary as set out on ACLJ films.com or on Amazon prime. It's actually free called targeting us. The people's fight against the IRS. Take a listen because this is how it all started with a long way through 2011 one of our taxes we would do the right thing. We want good citizens were trying to help them help us nothing until we get into January 2012 and January 2012 I received this letter with a questions and as a first course once we had with them at all and it came out of the boat. We were just shot came in the mail and then I start to read these questions and that's when things really got time. It was 10 years later we got a letter saying they wanted all this information with the seven-page letter we all knew immediately was not yet a letter from the IRS telling us that they will not improve our tax-exempt answer almost 90 questions on. Otherwise, if you don't answer the 30 questions 70 some sub bullets doing 88 different lines for a living against the rest of the letter that I got from the IRS.

Not only was filled with egregious questions, but it gave me a very short timeline and a window to answer those questions with the paperwork.

As I said something wrong here. I don't know what it is.

I'm not sure what's going on and this is something is wrong. This is not that they shouldn't even be going in this direction at all, and in these questions. Questions about family members of boards questions about donors and activity beyond just the normal list of donors, but with their activities and affiliations were as well so again, that is just how it all started those those letters letters about family members letters about donor list at low letters about content of speeches you think about this events do you attend like church and political events.

Where do you have a transcript of the speech. We know this is a very local grassroots of your transcript and a video of it. Even these days with technology.

It's it's very of these work very grassroots organization and they wanted. All they wanted actually in some of the questions they wanted backdoor access to their websites so they could go in and see the the back door of the website to see what was going on, which would give them access to everything the organization done including decisions they made like hey we should be doing this. This would be wrong.

So what's up with this website meet that's illegal to make a decision to say Discussions yeah right now it's up that's what they were.

They wanted to see if they could bring criminal charges realize that just like they did with Mike Flynn there. Try to find a way, as we found out that with him emails because we got the FBI. The FBI got involved. How could they bring criminal charges, at least against one of these groups, so they'd all back off in the present, Obama would have to deal with because their idea was if we can get one just one case yet. One case that goes criminal that can stop all these good from having any kind of little scare them with this politically motivated. Jordan said in the order we got the settlement they said they acknowledge viewpoint discrimination.

That is one of the worst forms of discrimination, but like asking for donor list violates the First Amendment United States Constitution, who your relatives spoke with on political campaigns violates freedom of association. What elected officials met violates your members met with violates freedom of association. What petitions you initiated violated the right to petition your government for redress of the grievance became two point where we had to get involved and you know it's interesting as well that when you look at the timeline so 2012 have the starts the letter start. We start getting contacted because of what the IRS did you we went public with this those giant rallies on Capitol Hill would be speaking at with senators and members of Congress and grassroots leaders and thousands of people would show up on this of the sound, the grounds, the capital right in front of the US capital is being covered by all the news outlets. Guess what happened in 2014.

This backfired on the above administration significantly.

Not only the Republicans can't retain control of the House of Representatives. They took back the Senate so for the facet for Pres. Obama's final two years in office. He had absolutely zero ability to pass any legislation but I think is important. The how do we get involved so to the group. Skip the letters that the ACLJ gets involved yet. Let's go and play it for years I had watched Fox News and of course Jay is a regular contributor at end guest on Fox News and I had always seen the things that ACLJ represented in the fights that they find for people that are unlawfully present in other countries and Christian groups had always admired him so much. So Toby had gone through all the work within one day she call me and I was at one of the hospitals is working at a conference call at such and such time and I might well be on the road at that time that if I'm calling from the car yet. What is me talking ACLJ and I want now. Several of us on their assignment. Paschal Simon left the place is working and headed on home and I'm going and I 35 and I can remember exactly where I was at the conference call started and Jay Sekulow comes on. Coming out of the speakers in my car was just like he was on the call, but he just listen. He needed saving from like half an hour okay in these worries are common through the phone lines from all these people saying oh yeah they want to know what books we were worrying we want to report work. We wanted to know how many of your board members have ever run for political office and we want their family name the needs of their family members. If any of them for political office and we want to know if their plan to run for political office in Jay Sekulow just said right now. We will represent all of you for this. This is completely wrong. This is something I've never seen this before in the ACLJ is going to stand up and fight for you. In this case and that was a huge relief because until then, we were sure how we can fight back with an element large conference call was that everybody was being asked the same thing all these different offices. They were trying to shut down that they disagreed with.

This is very very serious movie is available for free ACLJ films.com.

It's called targeting his fight against the IRS is also available at Amazon prime, but also support the work of the ACLJ ACLJ never makes all possible. The American Center for Law and Justice were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad for limited time you can participate in the ACLJ matching challenge for every dollar you donate, it will be now $10 gift becomes $20, $50 gift becomes 100 you can make a difference in the work we do. Protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms most to you and your family. Give a gift today online LJ live from Washington DC Jay Sekulow and secular Jay Sekulow like we are. Take your phone calls at one 800-6831 two that's what hundred 684-3110, you know, we are all these battles against the deep state. Their ongoing as we speak and we got John Durham's investigation US attorney for the US attorney in Texas doing. We now know it's at least been a two month investigation whether there was criminal wrongdoing with the unmasking in the leaking of classified information from that unmasking and that Durham asked for that second US attorney because it was just too much to do in one investigation us. We know that's ongoing. We know that in our FOIA work that the federal court has held that people like Samantha power, Joe Biden, and others cannot hide behind say that if it had my navel was really just my assistant federal court said that for legal purposes.

The we assume it is you, because if it was in assistant that had that was a high enough level aid to you to put your name into the system that is equal to you doing it so that excuse of it wasn't really me doesn't work for you Samantha power doesn't work for you. Susan Rice does it work for you, Joe Biden, but it also wouldn't work for Pres. Obama, whose chief of staff did it because it works both ways. So if you're chief of staff did it. It would be like you were authorizing well so we got that done at the same time it was announced. A day later that the unmasking criminal investigation was still ongoing. It wasn't one of those open and shut investigation because unmasking itself is not illegal, it was whether or not it was done improperly and was classified information leaked.

That would be the illegal part so we learned at the very same time that we got that ruling for the ACLJ civil and are in our FOIA work. We got that that that confirmation by Atty. Gen. bar that a separate US attorney in Texas was quickly investigating the Obama administration's unmasking Mike Flynn and this all caused us to set up within the American Center for Law and Justice are Government accountability Project molding right here.

What is our first real since a person it's multiple report series with this in the most recent and this is just on the litigation that's taken place of freedom of information act request does include the RS cases. We set up the whole project inside the ACLJ to do that. So when you support the work of the ACLJ your supporting this your supporting the litigation that took place in the IRS case your supporting the production of a full-length movie documentary on the IRS case. That is something that I think everybody needs to seek your supporting this radio broadcast every single day. So while Myrna matching challenge campaign at the ACLJI just want to know what your supporting and usage are by the way that movies available for free. It's called targeting us.

The people's fight against the IRS ACLJ films.com or on Amazon prime other movies or by the ACLJ as well. Consulate working on that, so will get more into the IRS case and the moment will be taken calls as well. 1-800-684-3110.

It took federal litigation to correct the abuse within one of the most powerful and feared agencies in our government. The Internal Revenue Service yeah that's right at me and so I again I think that when you look at the fact that how feared the IRS was a me this was was one of those agencies that like you know it was they were feared. It wasn't was a fear, like everybody would like the IRS to begin with, because you pay taxes. No one really likes doing that, taken from your paycheck, whatever said I would love the IRS but they get real scary when they come after you.

Very serious when the IRS comes after criminal. Usually when the IRS comes after. And when they start doing bizarre actions that lead you to believe that maybe this criminal wrongdoing so Congress started looking at its we get back we had our clients.

This is how ready we were in public, we were going to testify before Congress, Democrats can ask questions to so that's part of this documentary as well that that's a big decision point as litigants to say it work in a letter to our clients who testify before the United States Congress and we did considerable place of that we come back ACLJ films.com targeting us. Also on Amazon prime good ACLJ.org donate today the American Center for Law and just as were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad.

Whether it's defending religious freedom. Protecting those who are faith uncovering corruption in the Washington bureaucracy and fighting to protect life in the courts and in Congress ACLJ would not be able to do any of this without your support for that. We are grateful. Now there's an opportunity for you to help me way limited time you can participate in the ACLJ's matching challenge every dollar you donate $10 gift dollar gift becomes 100. This is a critical time for the ACLJ the work we simply would not occur without your generous take part in our matching challenge to make a difference in the protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms gift today online ACLJ only one.

A society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice is, is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying when you stand with the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life, we've created a free powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn Gold edition like it will show you how you personally support the publication includes a look at all major ACLJ Jesus were fighting for the rights of pro-life activist ramifications 40 years later, when Obama care means to discover the many ways your membership is empowering the right question free copy of mission life today online ACL data/Jay Sekulow this Jordan secular, so we took unique. So when this became more more public, Congress would start asking questions to not just of IRS officials but of these tea party group leaders.

Now this is a decision you have to make his attorneys. You put your clients before Congress and have them testify because are going to get nasty questions from Democrats and you say you were really being targeted and try to play it all down and you were trying to really run political organizations that should get these this status things like that and we said you know what the American people need to know how disgusting and gross. The IRS is acting here and how Bob is been trying to cover it up with holder. It is IRS Commissioner McKay risk mistress. They go through that three rear form, and remember holder initially said report. There is wrongdoing here is criminal wrongdoing were to take action yeah been horses actions no action get back when it was Darius. Anyways, take a listen though because and watch it, get on Facebook and periscope keep sure this your for the feeling is great visually today on the broadcast is were given UI clips from the documents available ACLJ films.com or on Amazon prime. You look for a search for targeting us. The people's fight against the IRS. It's free on both ACLJ films.com or if you got Amazon prime targeting us. The people's fight against the IRS. So here we go, taking our clients before Congress and having them testify. I'm not here to serve far and I'm a born free American women flying another insidious thing government think you've forgotten your place. It's not your responsibility to look out for my well-being.

I want to protect and preserve the American American people across oceans and risk their lives to become a part of terrified slipping away expecting your government, your patriotic people don't expect you expect them to be professionals, even if they don't like you are greatly can treat you with some respect there was when I found out I was given the opportunity to testify was a privilege and I was honored to be able to tell the story for 2 1/2 years. The IRS is unlawfully delayed and obstructed my application for determination of tax-exempt status by using unconstitutional criteria.

The types of questions asked by the IRS included asking me to identify the political affiliation of my mentors and then advise the IRS of my political position on virtually every issue of importance to me for good measure. I was asked to identify those whom I train and I informed the federal government in detail what I am teaching my students considering that the mission of my organization is devoted to mentoring young people some of whom are minors. Can you imagine the reaction of the students parents were I to turn over the names of their children to the IRS and to what end is it not conceivable that I be sued for the IRS threatened to audit the parents of those students. Yet my failure to comply with this stunning inquiry would result in the denial of my application for subject me to perjury. You understand I mean these these individuals testified before the United States Congress because the rights have been violated here and confirm forcefully conduct Congress with takings taking it all very seriously. But to say something about the clients.

Here I am to all of them you're hearing from a lot of them today. It takes a lot of willpower a lot of guts to subject yourself to federal litigation. Even if you're the plaintiff and they didn't. They did because they were concerned about the impact this was an have on their country concerned about their families.

They were concerned about their nation. They were concerned about their communities and the American Center for Law and Justice because of your support for our work is able to not only produce this great film that again called targeting us. The people's fight against the IRS available ACLJ films.com or Amazon prime. Either way, but also bring you this broadcast litigate the case, start a Government accountability Project. All of this takes place because of our support.

The support you give us. So I would encourage you to go to ACLJ.org and support the work of the ACLJ on in our matching child's campaign, but also let's put back on the screen again. You need to watch this movie enfolds called targeting us and is by our ACLJ film team.

It's screaming now on ACLJ films.com and also on Amazon prime so we can get it to anybody in the world that has Amazon prime see this movie see the work that our clients did the work that we did the work you're supporting so continue to support the work of the ACLJ wanting to call Jim Hunter from Texas outline three Jim welcome to Jay Sekulow live, you are on the air guys. Thank God for you that you're out there.

We all knew this played out with blood on my question is what punitive actions can be taken against these departments i.e. Eric Holder to Israel. What when are they going to answer for what they do instead of just giving us an I'm sorry give us an oops, I'm sorry. We got an injunction.

A declaratory action that also made them change all the policies in a companion case that was filed in Ohio that we were involved as well.

Our clients receive monetary damages.

Lois Lerner does no longer works at the Internal Revenue Service takes a number of other faiths change the IRS Commissioner so people were held accountable and that is but look, I would say this litigation takes time, if any, was here.

That's what he would say, takes time to do and remember who the DOJ was the time they were going after their own people as it was holder that we were different. DOJ now is got criminal investigation. We can do criminal investigation ACLJ right, but a Bill Barr to Joe Barton can start them.

And yes against the deep state actors so so it the administration which administration is in charge really comes in the player. We can do so much in the civil courts have great victories there, but that for criminal vignettes for criminal we get that all the time criminal takes it it's who's in charge Department of Justice and that that's it.

That's election issue instead of election issue again very soon. And that's who can hold those people accountable in a criminal way, but you know we didn't just take our clients and say let's go before Congress. We went to federal court folks went to federal court. This was this all the way if you could you like to put together a full strategy is like a full campaign legally media, congressional testimony clients across the country taking on one of the most feared federal agencies figure out that the FBI was trying to criminally come after our clients and then saying you know what, no more negotiating or taking you to court, IRS, and by the way the government hates when you take him to court has so many excuses not test not to be in court with a meticulous I can imagine a harder entity to come against in the IRS tell you the IRS is a formidable foe. Often times this is one of most feared government institutions in the US they get your taxes.

They determine how much you know. If you go back taxes they can seize your way to me. All these things IRS can do a lot of power. They know everything about you basically option to pursue voluntarily took a very brave group of individuals and organizations decided okay let's do this ACLJ we will fight back for our rights want to fight for our recognition and fight for what we deserve from the IRS.

Let's take the court was a serious systematic problem with in the IRS that allowed this issue to percolate all the way to the top of the tax-exempt organization had mean treasury. There were concerns that reached into the White House and you know and the President present Obama dismiss this as inconsequential, but ultimately the way to handle this was court. You had to be in court to get this resolved.

The reason I got into is because relational reason. The Kentucky Nitro project was formed for principal. We fell that are like to be in that we have a constitutional right that wasn't allowed to go forward and that thankfully is the day we had a voice. Now they could fight back, shine a light on what was happening. So even if we didn't get what we deserve in the future. Other organizations may be empowered to stand up and how that you can't just say what were not to sue you can't say let them trample on the rights it was time to stand up pronto. The other leaders who did the same road I so look the reality is, I think that when you're looking to sit this movie and I think this is right. This gives you a sense of kindly overviews of the kind of things where we did an actual case that involved not just litigation but involved congressional testimony litigation in federal court, a movie be able talk about on TV. We put these clients, you know, not just on our own media, but right on Fox news and not always with us mean so often times you have your attorneys, you go on with your clients and sometimes that's it.

You need to do that in this matter with 41 clients, all with different matters and those with Artie testified before Congress and some of them were appearing on Fox news more than us at the time and that was great, but those are all strategies. It was like we just randomly happen, we would put all of that together made all those decisions. Who to put forward with the put for who should be talking what issue should be very and then of course figuring out FBI was trying to criminally come after just treading the act actually taken down criminal. How disturbing is that well you'll find out in targeting the people's fight against the IRS available for free@acljfilms.com streaming their online and on Amazon prime free of your pride never targeting us. The people's fight against the IRS and it's free for Amazon prime members, but as were walking you through this and again I encourage a Facebook periscope keep sure the great broadcast this year because visually I think that it's it's it's different than our normal radio broadcasts. We would check against TV quality, but were pursuing a lot of what we do on our real production side of her film side, so we take you through cut how this began that the opening getting the letters from the IRS, having the testimony how we got involved, how the lawsuit began but now we want to bring you to kind of with it.

When we finally five years into this got the decision from the court and this is actually physical clip because it's one of our clients going through the decision for you. Take a take a listen or watch. The government has admitted and has entered into this this decree, and they've agreed that it's wrong to apply.

US laws against any individual based upon their name and possessions that they hold provide their lawful positions which are is of course where the issues that we ask that we espouse for our associations or even perceived associations is the first point. The second point is that the government has agreed that their actions whatever they take in this process must be evenhanded and never based upon the applicant's name their political viewpoint or associations are perceived associations and then the government finally declared or agreed that discrimination on the basis of our viewpoints that the government administering the tax code is a violation of fundamental violation of the First Amendment rights which we knew all along that the government was denying to treat us differently entertaining in getting tax exempt status or any treatment under the tax code based solely upon her point of view to have these now agreed and admitted by the US government will provide some precedent, which I hope in the future will at least hold at bay when someone is tempted to do this again.

They admitted that they believe a lie she broke the law, you know, and I guess that's the first time my understanding that they've ever admitted in a court proceeding that that they actually did something wrong.

We had things put in place of the wouldn't do it again to somebody else, which is even more important and the most important then becomes a precedent for that next group that comes 5 to 10 years and my nine-year-old when she goes out she can say my dad did she. That's what why we did this one for me was for her to take couple minutes or talk about this because folks this is really important that you know you get what we get so busy and we had so much activity since these cases that you forget. That's why were it's so important to do these documentaries because you want the history of what took place and this again. We could do this without you. So, first, thank you to all of you for allowing us to do this because without your support. We don't get to do this is that simple.

That's number one number two look at the result. Now this was congressional testimony, which was extensive. Our clients testified before members of Congress. We then had litigation, which was not done overnight was a lot of hearings a lot of briefs allow emotions appeals back and forth.

We were successful that it was settlement discussions. You just saw in that clip that we just played from the movie the nature and scope without those settlement discussions which were really fantastic and we got an unbelievable result for our clients, which is an unbelievable result for the country and none of that happens.

None of this takes place without your support of the ACLJ and when I love about this particular documentary. It shows the full gamut of what we do with the American Center for Law and Justice. It shows everything it shows litigation it shows negotiation and shows congressional hearings. It shows resolution.

It has a documentary that explains the entire case when we have a daily radio and television broadcasts that comes to you from the studios each and every day. The cost of your support for their couple things I'd like you to do first this weekend or tonight watch ACLJ films.com.

We just need more information from and then you're sorting through those who are actually willing to take that next step in action just that with the IRS matter because that is confrontational, yes. But the good news is you got governors yet were dealing with school boards were dealing with superintendents. So we've taken a lot of response yet. We were taking a lot of attribute when post love you because you still like negotiations that were looking at the law.
